Hello Keith, I am cousin Jean to your Father Keith. I have quite a lot of info on the family, having been researching for years. Grandad Walter was a bit of a character and there were quite a few anomalies on the marriage certificate. He misquoted his date of birth, his name was Walter only [from his Naval Records, plus I do not believe he was in the Merchant Navy because he signed on as a boy 2nd class when he was just 15/16] he signed on properly for the Royal Navy when he was 18,for 12 years. He also quoted his Father as Walter William also, a merchant seaman, another thing I do not think is right. However, I am still searching for positive proof of these errors. His name, date of birth etc. obviously are correct as per his naval record. Family legend has it that he was orphaned young and it seems that was the case. His Mother I believe died young [always supposing that I have the correct birth certificate and the right parents, I could not find another Walter Raymond born in 1877 other than the one for whom I have parents Charles Henry Raymond and Mother Elizabeth, nee Harris. It would seems logical that his Father was Charles Henry as Walter named one Son Charles Bernard and the Other, your Grandfather Henry Davis. Your Grandmother and my Mother were sisters, Norah and Edith Annie. Perhaps your Father Keith would remember his cousin Jean. I am now nearly 74 years old and living in Cala d'Or, Mallorca, Balearic Islands. I would love it if you would give me your home address some time and I could then post off to you all the family trees which I have produced. I always follow female lines as well as male as they are 50% of the gene pool. I'll close for now, but will contact you again. Love to hear from you soon. Jean

Has anyone got information pertaining to Birth; Death; Parents /Siblings for a Walter William Raymond, my GGrandfather, who I believe was born approx. Year 1877 poss. 22 nd December, or as may be the case October 3, anywhere in and around Greater London esp. Kent or Deptford, I can only find brief details of his wedding to an Alice Curtis in 1906, Sculcoates, Hull,Yorkshire (now Humberside).
He did spend time in the Royal Navy after some time in Merchant Service and also he was alive for my Grandparents Marriage, which also was held in Sculcoates, on 23rd May of 1936( Norah Livingston & Henry Davis Raymond).
As I reside in AUSTRALIA it is somewhat difficult to check all Public / Parish Records held in England.
Any help or Advice would be appreciated.

Regards,

Keith Joseph RAYMOND
