I am looking for the death of Edmund James LORD, he appeared on the 1901 census and he was born in 1853.
I dont have any idea when he died except that it was after 1901. The registration district for his death would have been Haslingden
Can anyone help

He could have lived for another 40+ years!

Have you no clues as to when he might still have been alive?

I assume you've checked freebmd...........

Do you know when his wife died?

Her death cert would say either 'wife of' or 'widow of'.....depending which was the case.............

Did the son John R marry? Does the marriage cert mention the father's mortality?

John Ralph married Emma Moss 19th July 1902, Edmund James was still alive then.
Also Martha Ann his wife, I dont have any knowledge of her death either.
I have a sub to Ancestry, so am not looking for someone to trawl through there for me I was just wondering if ther emay be some other way of find his death.

It has stumped me.
I have details of John Ralphs grave, thinking he may be in there, but he isnt. There is a very kind lady at the cemtery office who will help if I can get a date, her records are not in alpha order before 1950 ( they wouldnt be would they )

I will have to trawl through Ancestry, taking it a decade at a time.

Thanks for your help Reg.
