There are some overseas army deaths on the Findmypast website (pay per view) but I'm not sure what years they cover.

Wow! Have you got an ancestor who died at Rorke's Drift?

I'm sorry that he died but how fantastic. I've visited Rorke's Drift & Islandwhana. Quite amazing.

It is great isn't it Ozi? The film Zulu is my son's favourite film ever - I couldn't tell you how many times he has watched it.

I know how obsessed some people can get with that film. My husband's the same. It's still a good movie after all these years.

That's why we had to visit those sites when we were over there.

Ozi.

P.S. Sorry to hijack your thread, Dawn.

Thanks to you all, yes it is a fantastic film imagine my surprise when I discovered I had a distant ancestor that fought in that war.
His name was Edmund Jenkins born at Littledean Glos, he was one of the walking wounded and was called to assist in the defence of the outpost sadly he died of an Assigi (I think that's how it is spelt) wound. He is mentioned twice in the report sent to Queen Victoria. He was not however one of the medal winners.
Never mind he was there!
He was a cousin eight times removed.
I was chuffed to say the least!!!
