Your reply is much appreciated. The info on the 1851 census is great. Might explain why he was estranged from his family and would never speak of them.
I have also found out that his brother Henry had the second name of Oswin. Now my g.grandfather had a son who he called Henry Oswin. Seems like a connection to me but still worry about the dates and places but I just haven't been able to find any info. on another Frederick with a mother and father with the names Elicabeth and Robert.

Hi Liz,
Have seen the info on these trees and have a sneaking feeling that Frederick of Barrow U.Soar is my great grandfather. The only problem is the dates and Rugby as birthplace mentioned on his marriage cert.

Thanks for that info. but my Frederick was in Australia in 1881. Building. carpentry and brick making seemed to be the occupations of them all.

Hi, help please. I have g.grandfather Frederick Sutton supposedly born 1837 in Rugby with a Mother Elizabeth and father Robert. That is according to info. on Marriage Cert. Info on his Death Cert. states place of birth Nottingham.
The only Frederick Sutton with those parent names I can fine is one born in Barrow Upon Soar and that is a christening date of 1835.
Also any info. of a Frederick Sutton aged about 9 or 10 being a passenger on a ship which left England and came to Australia.
Any help would be appreciated. Been trying to find info. on this ancestor for prior to 1862 when he became a police trooper in NSW.
