I don't know a great deal about the simners, except that there are alot of them, I know that my grandfather Leonard's(who was one of 9 children, one of which died very young in a fire) father was also Leonard m Lucielle. Lucille died in the 1960's i've been led to believe.

Yes, I agree totally with Jenny's comments. You need to get a copy of your mother's birth certificate (or at least her marriage certificate). Hey, why not buy both!

Once you have the certificate you will have her father's name and it should be possible to work backwards (logically, from one fact to the next!) and eventually get you as far back as 1901 when the census records should start to assist you.

Once you have her parents names we can work from there.

Iris E Slater Born July Q. 1927 Dudley. Mothers maiden name Flavell.

I have an slight interest in this surname.
My Sister in Law married a Frederick Slater from the same area.

Will look for a marriage between a Slater and Flavell for you.

FLAVELL is a very common name in that area. I seem to recall that there are several people with connections to this name who contribute to the Sedgley page on Rootsweb.

My grandmother was Iris Slater b1927-1989 she married Leonard Simner and had 2 children Roy and Esther. I know she had a sister called Rose. This is all i know about her. Can any one help me find her parents or more siblings, i know there are quite a few out there!!
