I am looking for information on Doris Hinchcliffe Kay born c1900 - Married to James Hope
I think her father was Thomas (he was an american according to cencus b. 1870) and her mother was Sarah - I have only just managed to find out my grandmother correct name and still working out how to access records - not sure if this is connected to your family. This is becoming increasingly more important to me with my own grandchild due this year. !! My dad died when he was 55 (1989) and he had little memory of his mother from about 4 as she separated from her husband and my grandfather brought up his children. He was living in Corby by then. I now live in Australia so I have to do most things on line and have only just found out the family originated in Bolton. Any help appreciated as I am a novice at this.

Thanks to everybody for the info _ a great start and have had even more from another member - it really is appreciated and now I have marriage details as well
Every bit helps and sure I will get better at this
My Gt Grandad was Thomas Ashton Kay and Gt Grandmother was Sarah Alice Gledhill so a lot easier
