Does anybody know whether nursing was an unmarried female occupation in the 1880's.

Or where they allowed to be married?

Thanks

Have a google - must be lots of info on Victorian nurses.

The term nurse doesnt always mean the same profession as we think of it. Virtually any one could be a "nurse" without any proper training. Forence Nightingale was one of the first people to ensure nurses were trained to a standard.
