You need to contact Kew in London,this is where the service records are,If your relative died during the 1st world War have a look at the cwgc.org site.

Regiment?

I take it you're talking about WW1?

If he was still serving after 1920 you'll need to contact the relevant department at the MOD

How can I get detail of a Service record I have Reflt no 195226 and a Service no 59070 or it could be 590YO for a William Starr born 1880 He enlisted on the 28th September 1914
