Hi
I'm trying to trace my grandfather, Eugene Reilly or Eugene Owen Reilly.
I think he was born around 1901/1902/1902 in Dublin. He married Ivy Mosley on 6 October 1932 in Romford, Essex - he was 30 years old and his father is listed as "Patrick Joseph Reilly" who was a fireman. Eugene's occupation was "general Labourer" He and Ivy had 2 children, Audrey and Terence. My father was Terence Patrick Reilly.
Eugene was found dead on 14 March 1950 aged 48 on the Railway line at Viaduct, Chester-le-street. Cause of death was Multiple severe injuries after being struck by a train. There was a coroner, W M Patterson, for East (Chester) ward of Coy Durham and the inquest was held on 17 March 1950. Is it possible to get a copy of the coroners report ( might give me his date and place of birth) or even newspaper reports from the time?
I would like to trace this Irish family line but am at a complete loss as to where to start!
Thanks, Andrea
