I did wonder if name could have been written down wrong in the records or had been misread on the copy of the document i found

if this was a mistake on the record this makes me wonder a couple of things

were such mistakes a common thing?

and did this make the marriage null ?

food for thought ;)

thanks

I can't help with Irish records, but just a couple of thoughts on Janet/Jenny.

1) Her pet name may have been Janet but her real name was Jenny so was used for officialdom.

2) Her name was mistranscribed/misheard/whatever for her marriage.

Ozi.

I think this is the very same person thanks very much you were fast i am still trying to decipher the badly scanned records but will look down this path more firmly :) , I am getting more intrigued about going down the beaton line more and more by the minute

janet/jenny was my grandmother and i always knew her as janet yet marriage records that tally with this same info show her as jenny so im really quite puzzled at present lol

im really confused as to the marriage in 1915 showing as jenny yet your info showing janet , i always knew her as janet and it would be quite insane this being 2 different people with the information matching in every other respect

does anyone know where i could get an irish birth certificate on this match?

Hi update , it seems that it may have actually have been jenny beaton born between 1894 and 1897 and i believe it could be ireland (possibly dublin) possibly her brother was malcolm stewart beaton born greenock october 1903 , both share the same parent name elizabeth and william beaton (william appears to have a middle name) but the diocuments very hard to read so looking like a good match but ant help from anyone that can search irish records would be appreciated

I think janet was born 1900 and thomas kyle junior was born jan 17th 1937 but his father thomas kyle senior who married janet i have no idea , just know he died end 1964 - early 1965 in greenock but as this site holds no scottish records have been stumped

Hi has anyone got any information on a thomas kyle who was married to janet beaton kyle some time between 1920 and 1965 , he fathered a son thomas and a daughter mable (who died very young) i believe he was a money lender at the greenock docks and died late 1964/1965 , may have had a sister sarah who never married i believe he may have lived at drumfrochar road in greenock at some time as this is where janet beaton kyle died around 1974/75

thanks
