Albert J Rutland - Death Record

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Laura Report 23 Sep 2007 00:50

Hope that someone can help me.
I am told that one Albert J Rutland (born circa 1894) died whilst he was only young (a child) when he drowned in a puddle. However, I cannot find record of his death (or even his birth for that matter) anywhere.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Wow, I'm fascinated by the fact he didn't die young. Hm, wonder what that was all about.
But, the marriage thing is going to be hard to work out. Any way of finding out who he married. I was so sure he was the second youngest sibling out of that lot. Turns out he was 4th eldest. How strange.

Is there a possibility that there is infact another sibling who did die in this way and the name have become 'muddled' over the years?

Maybe he was named after the dead child possibly?

The only way to be sure of who he married is to order his marriage cert

Laura

Laura Report 23 Sep 2007 01:48

Possibly, but the only problem I have is that I had that Albert J Rutland that died as being born 10 years after the one who lived until at least 17. Thoroughly confused, but tempted to agree there may be a muddle somewhere along the line. Thank you, Wayne.

You guys are amazing finding all this out. This Alfred James Rutland, any chance of finding out who his parents are?
Laura

WayneTracey Report 23 Sep 2007 02:23

yes order his birth and death certs!

as he was born between census's and the MMN is not stated until after 1912 you'll need to order the certs to be sure...

I know this is a pain and you'll need to wait a week for info, at least it'll remove guesswork etc. The death cert would be your best bet. It'll not only name the parent(s) but will also state cause of death.

Sorry Laura i just 'assumed' everyone knew you could do that... my apologies I should have explained how to more!

Yes you can order anything you like from there as long as they have it!

If you goto the link Rose gave you, you need to use the volume and page numbers.... they are the numbers next to the death details i gave you...

Age at death would be 2

Year would be 1888

The quarter would be Jun

and then the district Wycombe

The vol number is 3a

The page is 355

The details change but you basically just need the Year, Quarter, Vol & Page no, then for death also the age at death.

It'll ask you for your details so they can post to you.... you have 2 choices the sloooooow £7 option or the fast £25 depends how desperate you are to see the data!!!

A word of warning to yourself or anyone else starting out..... DO NOT order your certs from anywhere else but direct from the GRO, this can be a very costly exercise !! They all add their own fee on and your sloooow £7 cert could cost you upto £25! you might as well have paid the GRO that fee and had it in 2 days!
