Thank you Kath, that lets me know where to put in the search effort in original records - as they are not appearing in IGI at present.

Thank you Glitter Baby and Katherine.
No wonder I could not find them. Obviously the Matthew I found was not the same family!
Please can you tell me where they were all born?

Many thanks,
Frances

Mathew Oubridge 1793 has a wife Jane c.1799 and children all born Newcastle/Gateshead :-
John Matthew 1818 who dies as infant
Ann 1820 who gets married in 1844
Matthew 1823
Henry 1825
Robert 1827 who gets married in 1850 in London
Jane 1830 who gets married in 1848
I understand (not in IGI) there are
Dinsdale 1834 gets married in 1857
David 1836
Johanna 1840 gets married in 1859

I have found Matthew on his own, a servant, in 1851 but no other member of the family.
Matthew died in 1859 and Jane in 1866 aged 67. Could she and the younger children be in a work house?
