I'm looking for any information on the Cannell family, probably from the Isle of Man. Mary Ann Cannell married Thomas Speakman Williams in 1889. Her father was William Charles Cannell, ship's carpenter. The address on the marriage certificate is , I think, 36 Pelham Shore. In 1881 Mary Ann is a servant in Durham but I can't find the family anywhere. Any information would be welcome. |

Thanks Vera and Glitter Baby. I'm sure there's a connection somewhere but I don't know how to make it. My Mary Ann Cannell was definitely born in about 1863 but may have been named after an aunt. Her father's name is given as William Charles on her marriage certificate - St Bedes Toxteth Park 1889. I know there is a Manx connection but I'll have to dig a bit more. |
