either to a elizabeth colledge or elizabeth fletcher

can someone look and find out which one he married plz its driving me mad as i cant find it

well as they were both elizabeths it wont help looking for them on any census. the most straight forward way is to buy the cert.

Any of their childrens certs too will give mums maiden name but i would go for that marriage cert cos it will give both dads names and maybe take you back another generation..

There no way of viewing the cert online

1871 census indicates that Elizabeth Pickering was b. abt 1844 Woodville, Leicestershire. FreeBMD shows that Elizabeth Fletcher was b. June qtr 1843, birth registered in Ashby de la Zouch (district that registers Woodville births). No births listed for Elizabeth Colledge at the right time, registered in the right district.

Shirley is right, though. The only way to be 100% sure is to get the marriage certificate.
