To be honest Reggie i'm just starting out and i havent got an awful lot at all. I'm trying to peice together all the bits of information i have . I only really have two sure bits of info and im trying to jigsaw the bits in the middle .. I might be getting mixed up lol.. But in answer to your question. yes i'd love to find ancestors and/or descendants. Are you offering ? ;o) If so i'd hate to send you on a wild goose chase if these two aren't the right ones. If you're not offering. no worries , no pressure. ;o)

The snag with trying to find JT on a census is that we don't know where he was born.

If you could obtain the marriage cert, it would give you his father's name and occupation, which may prove helpful in locating the family..........also, the names of the witnesses may hold clues.

The WestMidsBMD website lists several marriages in and around the Dudley area where the groom was John T MOORE with a bride named Elizabeth.

http://www.bmsgh.org/wmbmd/marriages.html

Do you have the names of any of their children as the birth registration index will show mother's maiden name (if after 1911).

Aww thanks everyone. I think im on the right track and then oops.. back to the start again.
Heres what i know so far.. (and yes reggie i have the war info and thats the only concrete info i have on John Thomas Moore ) thankyou. judging those dates could he be my nans grandad if she was born 1910 do you think. Its reasonable isnt it.

My nans name was gertrude ann tipton (nee Plaskett) Born in bromyard 23/11/1910 diied 2004 birmingham. Birth Reg for Gertrude A Plaskett Dec Qtr 1910 Bromyard 6a 455 She had a brother named charlie/charles?
I dont have any names for her mother or father(apart from mr or mrs plaskett) but one of them have a father called john thomas moore. However someone very kindly found me this info ;

Thomas Plaskett/Annie E Moore Sept Qtr 1910 Bromyard 6a 1197

could this be my nans mum and dad? could she have been born the same year they married?

My dates dont seem to add up do they. I'm going to order gertrudes birth cert now and take it from there. I was just trying to jigsaw it together without buying one ;o) I thought i could detective work the whole thing by dates. Its hard isnt it !! lol..

Looking at the information I found for you with regard JT Moore he may be Gertrude's grandad if he lied about his age (one of my ancestor did this to enlist) But if he was Gertrude grandad and the age details are correct he would only have been 25 when she was born making it nigh on impossible for him to have a daughter old enough to be Gertrude's mother. Unfortunately it gets to a point in researching the family tree that to get the proof you want you have to purchase the certificates

To be Gertrude's grandad J T Moore would have to be born late 1860's early1870s possibly

If there is any link with JT Moore, it is likely to be that he was Annie Moore's brother..........the dates/ages do not really permit any other scenario.........

The marriage certs for each of them would confirm (or otherwise) as the father's name and occupation should be recorded.

Yes i think the annie moore and plaskett one could be my nans relative but maybe not her mother and father. Her birth cert will give me more info hopefully and then ill have concrete stuff to look back from.
I think that either john thomas moore lied about his age too because if you count back logically it would make him 37 - 40 odd when he died but it says on his army papers that he was 32.. Maybe he was an uncle after all. Aren't generations gone by vague or bendy truthed about their past lol.. Thankyou all for your help and advice.. I will look all these up again when i have more solid dates etc.. Kind regards rachel xXx
