Eliza died in 1894, three years after Mabel was born... Mabel appears on the 1901 census at her uncles house.

My grandmother Mabel Winspear was born in Dec 1891 to William and Eliza. Are you saying that Eliz Cuckson was born in Banbury, Yorkshire and not in Bawtry, Yorkshire?

Thank you Linda - She married William Winspear. All the info regarding the 1881 census is what I have. But I am thrown into confusion by the new information from my GR relative saying he has her under a different surname - I'm sooooo confused now!!

Presumably this relation has made a wrong guess. I assume your Eliza was the one who married in
1878

There are only two men on the page Thomas Myers and William Winspear.There is one missing. Who did your Eliza marry and we can take it from there

Please could someone be kind enough to help sort out a query.

I have Eliza Cuckson b 1854 in Bawtry Yorkshire as my great, grandmother. I got my info regarding Eliza's surname from my grandmothers birth certificate.

However a fellow GR relation has her down as Elizabeth (Eliza) Wood b 1854 in Bawtry Yorkshire.

Any ideas on the name confusion!? Please - thank you
