Joseph Bath was born abt 1814 in Bristol and married Charlotte unknown. In the 1861 census he is widowed and living in Bristol with his two sons and mother Elizabeth Bath.
I am trying to find Elizabeth abt 1787 in the 1841 census. From parish records I believe his father may have been Joseph but I can't find them in 1841.
Can I borrow some ones eyes to have a look for me?
Many thanks

Yes Jan I think that is him. I purchased the baptisms and they came today. Just finding my way around them. I came up with other children of Joseph and Elizabeth, Ann 1813, Betsy also 1819, Charlotte 1827, Henry 1822, Mary Ann 1830 and William 1824 but I cant find them in the 1841 census to confirm

The years are about right. Its just Mary...On the baptisms it says Mary Ann but it could be Maryanne Ruth. I will have to check the baptisms again

Thankyou

I believe the surname Ruth is a mistranscription, it looks like Bath to me. Address is Great George Street & mum Elizabeth is a nurse.

Angela you are a star.... I just had a look and in 1851 I found Eliza Bath living with daughter Anne Greensham. In the 1841 census you found look at the last name... Anne Greensham ....

How did you come up with the name Ruth?

Ozibird Report 25 Sep 2007 21:42

But is this enough to connect them with Joseph & Charlotte? Where are they in 1841?

Ozi.

Thank you!

I just put in Charlotte as first name, birth year 1827, parish st Philip & st jacob, county gloucestershire, place bristol. As Bath could conceivably be mistranscribed as Ruth I had a look & hey presto, the names fitted!

Sometimes, if you put in less info, you come up trumps.
