Apologies for not replying sooner. Eva was definitely born c1905, 1901 too early. Mr Thomas was a miner.

Thanks

Ah -- if Ormskirk was the *district* they were in, there were loads more Thomas-s, it seems. A couple of dozen married in that district in the first decade of the century, e.g.

This looks like the Eva Thomas in question:

Name: Eva Thomas
Year of Registration: 1901
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Ormskirk
County: Lancashire
Volume: 8b
Page: 811

Her birth cert would get you her parents' names, which could help.

There doesn't look to be a marriage transcribed yet that might likely be her.

If you got the birth cert it would give her exact date of birth, and it is often possible to identify a death, if it occurred post 1984, by searching by given name and DOB alone, and that would provide at least a good candidate for Eva's married surname, if she survived to 1984.

My Gramma was Eva born 1901, but she died in Canada (at 95), so no danger of confusion there. ;)

Meanwhile, there seem to have been very few Thomas-s in Ormskirk in 1901:

Arthur doesn't seem to have been married around then. Might Eva have been the daughter of Mary, who was the daughter of Harry and Annie, maybe?
