Find Ancestors

I have a small amount of info on my great +2 grandfather John Whitehead, born and lived at 159 Darcy Lever Hall Farm Yards, Bolton/Rumworth. He later married/lived with Elizabeth A. Duckworth and had a 1st born son Harold, his occupation is collier at the ladyshore pits aged 40 according to the 1891 census. Elizabeth died in childbirth with a second son probably a couple of years after Harolds birth, or so I've been told.
However, I seem to have hit a brick wall with John. I believe his mother was Jane Whitehead, and the story is that she was unmarried and may also have had an older son James, born c1848.
I would really love to be able to find out when and how he passed away, where jane came from originally and if whitehead was her married/maiden name. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Also any info on Elizabeth born c1853-c1881, she was living in Breightmet Bolton when she met John, her mother was Alice Duckworth, and I know she had at least one sister Mary, who married Robert (?) Lord. On the 1881 census John and Elizabeth are shown as living at 290 Yew Tree Darcy Lever.

for birth regiastration of Harold


for death registraiton of Elizabeth Duckworth/Whitehead to see who registered her death and if it gives any indication of her marital status.


Then you need to get as many of the certificates as possible


if you can find her birth registration and his birth registration and buy those, then you will find out the parents.
