Trying to find Williams

WILLIAMS - SHROPSHIRE My great-grandfather was Thomas WILLIAMS. My father thinks he was born in Much Wenlock. He married Patience Violet JONES in 1907. I thought I'd found him on the 1881 and 1891 censuses - the birthdate and place tied up. The father's name was given as John WILLIAMS. However, today I received the marriage certificate for Thomas WILLIAMS and Patience Violet JONES, which gives Thomas WILLIAMS'S father as Thomas WILLIAMS. Is it at all possible that a mistake could have been made on the marriage certificate? I've failed in all my attempts to track down a definite birth certificate reference for Thomas WILLIAMS and frankly I don't really know what to do next! Any suggestions gratefully received, as I'm really at a dead end here :-/ |
