Well here I am, almost as blind as a BAT. but just able to squint enough to post to you all. The Doctor at the hospital wouldn't do the laser treatment on my eye. She was concerned it might have some effect of my injured eye. I have to ring and make another appointment next month, when hopefully it will be cleared up. The lump and bruise underway eye, has gone down the side of my nose, and is almost to my top lip.
Ros needed to pop into Tesco on the way home and parked where the sun was shining off other cars bonnets, right into my eyes. had to sit all the time with my eyes closed. I don't know what people thought as they walked by lol lol.
I saw Pam next door this morning. I said where were you when I needed you, I layed on the drive shouting your name. she couldn't believe the sight of my face ;-) ;-) ;-). They are coming in for coffee in the morning, so hope I can see a bit better then.
Eos got the STEW prepared yesterday and put it on this morning, until we went to hospital. It's back on now and smells absolutely wonderful. She bough a nice CRUSTY LOAF to go with it, so looking forward to that later.
I hope our Jane is resting and feeling a little better. Thinking of you, my love xxxx
Glad you all liked Lola's photo's/video. Conrad said he will send more, as he receives them from Max and Silvia.
I do hope you are all well, please take care and stay warm. That wind certainly has a bite in it. We have the heating on and the Halogen heater. that will go off when everywhere has warmed up. xxx

I do hope Frank got on well at the hospital. I have been thinking about him all morning while doing the HW.
I have hoovered the kiitchen and dining area which is really large and done two lots of washing, tidied up all oh's tools and put a lot in the tool box I bought his ages ago. He won't be able to find anything now!!!! Ha ha ha :-D :-) :-D :-) Its made quite a difference in the dining area and I just have to ask him about some bits in a cardboard box. If I can throw them away.
I have wound up a lot of litlle thin ribbons I found in with some lace and they are now all in tiny poly bags in the ribbon box.
Your really getting on with your tree now Gill.
I really must get in touch with my cousin in the states and see how she is getting on and send her Christmas card.

Morning all
Not a bad day weather wise for this time of year, the rain and wind have stopped and it's quite warm out there. Last night was terrible with rain, it was so heavy on the window we had to turn the TV up the rain was that loud. I think we may of had a bit of hail to, so it's nice to have a decent day for a change.
Hope all went well at the hosptial today Frank. Sorry to hear you had a fall but good on you for getting yourself checked out. Let's hope it's the end of hospital visits for a while though. Love the pics and videos of Lola, she looks very happy with her new family running around in the garden and having a tummy tickle.....bless her. I bet Conrad is pleased she's finally settled now. I was only saying to OH how I miss proper chips, I'm not keen on oven chips so a dry fryer might be the way to go, I used to have a normal fryer but that took a lot of oil and would smell if the oil was left to long, so a dry fryer sounds just the thing.
Thanks for letting me know dry foods and spices etc... last a long time Vera, I always go by dates on things so it's handy to know that isn't always the case.
I split my trees years ago Ann when Genes was playing up and I couldn't get onto my tree for ages. Once I could gain access again I thought I'd do back ups of them on Ancestry. At the time our trees were very small so it didn't take to long to copy them over. The only problem I have now is I have to put everyone in on both trees so it takes twice as long.
I finished the section I was on yesterday then realised it was 3am, no wonder I was tired. I was so into copying everything over from Ancestry to Genes I just lost track of time. Needless to say I've not long woken up. I've only got a bit more to copy over from the tree match, so with a bit of luck it'll all be done soon, then I can concentrate on Christmas.
Our Christmas tree will go up in 10 days, I always put the tree up on my birthday, it's become quite a tradition now and Sandra always looks forward to it, counting the days down and how many sleeps there are to go, she loves Christmas........bless her. <3 <3

Morning all,
Brightish with rain and sunny spells but not much breeze or wind at the mo. Its raining now .
Hw planned for today as I must do some washing. I keep putting it off because of the rain when its windy blows under the lean to outside the back door where I hang it.
I had a nice piece of smaked cod last night with sweetcorn and a piece of brown bread and butter and it was lovely. Tonight is F & C night so I shall have cod yet again.
must press on if I want to get something done today.

I don't know I go out for the day and Frank throws himself on the floor. What are we going to sdo with you? and now you have a nice shiner to go to the hospital to have your treatment tomorrow. Good luck for tomorrow and I am sure I speak for all when I say you were a very good boy to go and get checked out. Sending love and wishes to you. <3 xxx
Thinking of our Jane too and sending love. <3 <3
I went to the Works today and then to Lidl and then to Morrisons so I am really whacked tonight. I bought a box in The works to decorate and when I got home and opened it up what should I find inside but a Naughty Elf in his blue and white striped pyjames. I would never had been able to go out of the shop if I had known and I feel terrible and not sure whether to go back and tell them. A child must have put it in there or something like that. On the other hand I may just give it to Em for the boys and then its out of this house.
Hope you all have a good nights sleep tonight I know I shall.
Nighty night.

Good luck with your laser treatment tomorrow. I just hope they can still do it for you now you have a black eye with the other. What are you like!

Hi all, All checked out, apart from a big BLACK EYE and a blood lump under the eye, all is well. I don't know what the Hospital will say when I go for my Lazer treatment on the other eye tomorrow. When I walked into the SURGERY All three girls said "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE" The nurse was concerned that I might feel sleepy and sick. If I am sick I have been told to ring 999. I feel alright, and have eaten a chicken casserole, not as much as normal, but I have eaten. Ros wouldn't let me do any clearing up. I don't think I will be late to bed tonight.
I have to be at the hospital at 10.45 tomorrow, so might not post till the afternoon. So it will be three days running I have had medical treatment. I think I should book in for Thurs. and Friday, to complete the week. lol lol
Sleep tight all, xxxx

Poor you Frank, you are in the wars. I’m glad you are getting checked over by the nurse. It’s always best to be on the safe side. I expect you feel a bit shaken up at the moment so take it easy for a while. Is it tomorrow that you have the eye appointment? Thanks for the video link. Lola is a real poppet.
Gill, you don’t need to throw away cereals that are a bit out of date. If there is a “Use By” date, then I would go a day or two beyond that, provided the food looks and smells OK, but no longer. However “Best Before” means just that. Crisps MIGHT go a bit stale in time, biscuits MIGHT go a bit soft etc. I used to work for a spice company who made products for the gift trade and our products had to be labelled best before 18 months from production but the worst that will happen to spice is that it might lose a bit of potency. I’m still using a large pot of ground ginger that I had from work when I retired 12 years ago and it’s absolutely fine.
I don’t want to think about Christmas yet. We have quite a large family so lots of pressies and cards to buy without even thinking about food but I will start at the beginning of December. I find being short on time concentrates the mind wonderfully ;-)
Tomorrow we have to go to a funeral for the second of the three local ladies who have died recently. It’s a service in the local church, then a gathering in a local pub so all within walking distance.
There was a cold wind this morning but otherwise it was bright and sunny so I washed some bedding and got it on the line. About midday it came over very black so I quickly got it in just as the heavens opened and it’s been raining on and off ever since. While it was still dry OH appeared in the garden with secateurs in hand. AnninG and Gill know from the gardening thread that I have my very own Mr Crewcut - you never know what he might chop down next. I guided him towards the helenium which are ready to be cut back and by the time he had done that it was raining and I breathed a sigh of relief.
Time to start thinking about tonight’s dinner. Now what can I do with a bit of cold chicken?

Evening All,
Brrr it's chilly here too!
Nice to see you pop in Jane and that you are reading the posts. I think AnnG and the others have expressed so well what we all feel. It's good your family are so thoughtful, but you have been there for them too as AnnG says. It's good that Hannah is able to get time off to be with you as well. I hope you will get your appointment any day now as you need to know where you stand with treatment. It will be good for you to see Janice and Larry tomorrow, you all need to have those tears.
Oh Frank I'm sorry to hear you've had a fall and hurt yourself. It's sensible to get checked out though. Thank you for the pics and videos of Lola. She looks so happy and is a sweet dog, enjoying her tummy tickle. I was interested in an air fryer because they use less fat so it sounds as if it is good.
Vera its a shame your Guava Jelly didn't gel as you hoped, but that was a great idea to make icecream with it! I wouldn't have thought of that. Your Wyvale swap over doesn't sound impressive but I suppose it is early days. We have 2 Wyvales that are now Dobbies and ours have changed quite a bit in character with far more gifts and house goods like clocks. We have an original Dobbies a few miles away on the A5 and that is quite upmarket with what it sells, so we expect they will work towards the same standard with their old Wyvale stores.
Well OH is feeling rough today as his sore throat has developed into a streaming cold and cough! I asked if he wanted to eat at home, but no, he thought the fresh air might be good for him, so we ate out. He just wanted to go home afterwards though and went to bed for a few hours and is now catching up with his emails. I've cancelled his dentist appointment tomorrow for the filling he needs, as he isn't well enough and the prospect of coughing with a drill in your mouth doesn't bear thinking about! lol. :-0
I was cross this morning as I use WiFit to weigh me and the remotes had cursors that suddenly wouldn't move. I found and looked at the instructions this afternoon though and have managed to get one working again and will have another try with the other tomorrow. I was thinking it was due a trip to the tip!! :-S
OH likes shredded wheat Gill and would have eaten them! lol. I'm more with AnnG though, although I don't mind the bite size ones so much. I love the taste, it's just the chewiness I'm not keen on.
No-one will be interested in my tree either AnnG, but years ago the local Records Office said they would have it to make available to others researching any family members. I thought that would be a good home for it and all the photos on it.
Those trees were beautiful Mel! That's good you won't have to go to Holsworthy to see a doctor now. Is there a chemist with the surgery? I hope you got everything at the supermarkets today and that your knee held out on the corners.
Oh Mandy I can't wait to see the doll's clothes you are knitting for Christmas for Lacey's dolls. :-D You make such lovely little outfits! :-D It was lucky you got your towels in before they were really soaked again.
It's a good idea to separate your trees Gill. I keep meaning to do it too, but it's a big job and getting bigger the longer I leave it.

Gill I think my OH would have eaten the shredded wheat if it was only a month, I wouldn't as I don't like eating straw :-D But my things were years more than months out of date. Well done on getting on so well with the tree while Ancestry was free. since realising that probably nobody in my family will be interested in my tree after I pass on I have more or less lost interest in going back further. Some of my lines are back to 16th century, most to 17th so I feel quite happy with that. And I know that a cousin on each side has also got our trees.
Mandy frustrating when it doesn't quite give time for the washing to dry. It was sunny here first thing, and still sunny when we went out at 1015. But it started raining/sleeting around 11am and is wet cold and very nasty out there now. OH had intended getting out in the garden this afternoon but he is not going to be able to do that now. We have a trip to the tip planned for tomorrow and were hoping people would have gone today so it wouldn't be so busy (it shuts Thursdays). But I can't see anybody going there in this.
Mel hope you got your shop done in the dry.
Frank Thank you for the video, she is gorgeous and obviously very contented. My OH Has a wardrobe full of shirts (well actually he has two, one with long sleeved and one with short. He really needs to go through them.

Good morning GIRLS. xxx
Jane I sat last night thinking of you, and was tempted to ring you, but I don't want to impose on your family life. All I can say is. I AM HERE if you need a good ear to bend.
My nephew John has HEART PROBLEMS. He has to go into hospital for STENTS to be fitted. I told him how well Ros has managed since having FIVE fitted last September. Where has that year gone. ??
I have just filled Ros's washer bottle with fluid and water. It should last her a few months. The water bottle is so BIG.
The Air Fryer does what it says on the tin. Ros did say some of the chips seemed under cooked, so next time I will set the timer for a little longer. With it only using a tablespoon of oil, it's very economical, and a lot healthier than a chip pan.
Ros has the dentist this morning, and will post the Australian and Canada cards. She needs to get a lot of root VEG, as I am going to do a Stew tomorrow. with DUMPLINGS. Tonight I am doing a Chicken Casserole, So nice and easy with everything in the casserole dish, apart from the potato's
I have bought Ros's Christmas present this morning A Victorian Rose gold Bracelet with a padlock All links are stamped 9 carrot gold and it's long enough to go round her wrist. So that's out of the way. Just odds and sods now to buy.
I must have a sort out in my wardrobe, I have so many shirts and trousers that need to go to the AIR AMBULANCE . Ros sees a shirt or a pair of trousers, and thinks I would like them (which I do) but there is no room to put them, and most of my things are hardly worn these days, as I tend sit around in Jogger bottoms and T shirts.
Enjoy your shop Mel, and to you all, stay warm, and behave yourselves. lol lol. See you later. xxxx
Bitter cold morning out there so I am not planing on going out.

Lovely to see you posting Jane it's a very difficult time for you so we all understand ,that was so lovely of Hannah to tell the dentist so you don't have to keep going over it,I hope you don't have to wait to much longer for your appointment. I'm sure tomorrow will be tearful but it's good your letting it all out its not good to bottle things up ,have a safe journey there and just pop in here when your able <3
I had all my towels out on the line as it was nice and sunny with a good blow this morning ,now it's just started to rain ,another hour and they would all have been dry .

Morning Jane and Mel, morning all
Dull, damp and windy here today, not as bad as last night the wind was terrible and Sky kept flickering as the dish got blown about. OH has tightened the dish up so it seems okay now and he's raked the leaves up before they spread around the pots, it's a lot of work getting rid of them if that happens.
Nice to see you pop in Jane, it sounds like your family have been your rock lately. You're bound to have tearful days, it's normal and I'd be surprised if you didn't. How nice of Hannah to explain things to the dentist so you don't have to. Hopefully it won't be to long now before you know what treatment you can have, I'm sure that'll help, knowing what's going to happen next. Sandra will be pleased you popped on here, she's been asking about you. Sending lots of hugs from Sandra and I <3 <3 <3
I had to throw some food out the other day to AnnG,not much just a box of shredded wheat, but that was only one month outdated not a few years lol. It's so easy to miss things if they're at the back of the cupboard though, so I wouldn't feel to bad about it.
I see you found the green wool you needed Ann and in the reduced box.....bargain. I got on really well on OH's tree yesterday and managed to finish a whole family, all 8 of them, I also found their spouses and a few children for some of them. Ancestry had their records open so that helped and I'd just finished it all when the free records stopped. All I need to do today is copy them all over to my Genes tree, I use Ancestry (free account) to make a copy of our main trees, that way I can have them separately rather than all together like I do on Genes. So that's my job today, copying them all over. I ended up putting around 30 people onto his tree, but I put a lot of notes for each person on Genes so it might take me another couple of days to complete that part. I roughly counted how many people are left to copy over from the tree match I have and it looks like there's around 30 to 40 so with a bit of luck it should all be finished this week, then I can sort out Christmas as that's not far away now. Luckily I bought far to much for OH and Sandra last year so kept a lot back for this year. I only need to buy a few bits and bobs now so it shouldn't take to long to do. I'll take a look at the make of the camera when I've finished OH's tree, thank you for offering to help me.

Morning girls and boy,
Jane I too echo all AnnG has said and you know we are always here for you. We all understand and am glad you pop in to read the posts even if you don't post yourself but it is lovely to hear from you.
Its a nice bright morning at the mo and its shopping day and I have to do both Lidl and Morrisons so think of me as I trudge my weaery way around today and my knee is not playig the game this morning too. I just hope it holds out.
Yesterday we changed our doctor, well we have forms to fill in and I have an appointment for the 22 Nov to see the doctor I like. She has bought the practice in Black Torrington which is only 2 miles away from us. I don't know why we hav'nt done it before but we were really hoping they would open the practice in Shebbear again but I don't think thats likely now.
