Afternoon All,

Lovely day and sunny, maybe getting a bit hot now.

<3 <3 <3HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MEL <3 <3 <3.

I hope your OH has taken his fleece off now if it's as hot there as it is here. That was a strange dream you had wasn't it. I have also seen the flamingoes at one of our garden centres last week. They were bigger than I expected but I could see how Sandra would love them.

Mandy I seemed to remember the class teacher saying something about using ordinary wool so I checked with my friend at beading this morning and she agreed and said the teacher said you can untwist it to use for felting. Thank you for your very kind offer and YES I would be very grateful if there is some you don't want. :-D :-D I will send you the postage. I should have mentioned I was going to ask my friend what had been said, but forgot with the kerfuffle about the notes!!

THE NOTES HAVE TURNED UP this morning! They were amongst some scrap paper and folders he'd put on the top shelf of one of the cupboards in the study. They were just surplus bits and bobs, barely a handful on the shelf which is otherwise empty, so I expect he was tidying stuff away when he put them there and hadn't realised he'd put them there with what else was in his hand. I said he'd be in here with me being out this morning! ;-) He's filed them away properly now with his other papers.

Ann, that is what I like about lunch out, the day is free then without food to think about. Having said that, we ate at home today, but at lunchtime as usual. I got 2 trays of roasting veg at Aldi yesterday and cooked two chicken breasts and made a tomato sauce with oregano, garlic and some fresh basil from my friend's garden this morning. She also sent me home with some home made courgette cake for OH.

Vera, that's good your OH is making steady progress. What a caper sorting your tickets out for the best. Things are often not as straightforward as you hope. The last time I went to London on the train was when I was working and went to collect an award at a presentation at Windsor House from Sir Michael Partridge, the then transport minister. Other than that it has just been short trips to Birmingham with OH when he had meetings there.

I hope the shower behaved this morning Frank and that the new one soon comes. You can't be doing with iffy nights and and iffy shower as well! I hope the sun didn't bother Carolyn's eye too much, but I seem to remember OH had a patch to start with so she should be ok.

I hope you enjoyed your lunch Jane. It must be trickier for one of you getting in the back seat.

I'm wondering again whether the digging by workmen has disconnected Gill's broadband. I hope we hear from her soon.

Had lunch and now he is back out on the lawn and I have the washing up to do before doing anything else.

I have to give the hoover a hair cut before it will work properly indoors.

<3 <3 <3 <3 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MEL <3 <3 <3 <3
Hope you both enjoy your day together.

Afternoon all,
Bright and breezy here ,Colin's brother came for coffee this morning ,we sat chatting most of the morning so haven't got much done .
I have two nasty bites on my leg one on the front and the other on the back just below the knee ,they have both turned into big blisters now and i have them covered up as i don't want to knock them ,i think it was a nasty old fly that bit me .

So you managed to get a tie dye kit then Ann you'll have fun with that :-D
Did you see my post about the wool ? it might not be what you wanted but i thought i'd mention it .
Have OH notes surfaced ?

You'll be away when you get the new shower in Frank ,it's so annoying when some thing works in fits and starts .

Enjoy the lunch Jane

Better get my ironing done now .

Morning...Afternoon now All
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MEL <3 <3 <3 Are you cooking anything special for tonight?

That was a strange dream with Soup and Moon :-D :-D

Frank you can actually get really cheap train tickets to London . It all depends on the times you want to travel. But also if you were say to buy one at the station when you want the train it can cost a bomb !!!. I often get my tickets for between £20 and £30 and first class ttoo with my Senior Rail card.

I hope Vera has arrived and is having a nice visit with her Brother. Hopefully he will be comfortable and not in too much pain after his op.

Got to dash now as Fitz has arrived and we are off for lunch. He is blooming early and I am not quite ready :-S See you later.

Morning all,

Bright and sunny here and oh is out on the mower murdering the lawn on the west of the garden. I know its been dry lately and some patches had gone a bit yellowy but now its all yellowy where he is working on it. I know its the right thing to do but it makes me cross as it looks horrid for a few days and I like to see the stripes.

Had a funny dream.

I had to get to a place called Woolaton Farm. I was told where it was by a man standing at the side of the road, he said turn right and right again and you can't miss it. I turned right and drove past a lot of wooden building with light yellow painted stabel doors.

It had been bought by a young man who I seemed to know who was called Soup. They were building a long straight road from the farm on a very muddy track. I said I would clean up the barn where a couple of his friends were chatting. One was called Moon and he had longishish blond hair and he stood with his hands in his pockets talking to another guy. I did'nt know this guys name. I picked up two bage of softly coloured bunting which needed sorting out and asked Soup if he wanted to keep it and he said yes so I stated to sort it out and asked Moon if he would hold the other end. Then oh woke me up.

Good morning Frank, hope the shower workd for you. Dry here so far cloudy/bright. OH has gone to golf. My KNIGHT family or rather OH's come mainly from Devon and Dorset as far as I have found out so far. Strangley though OH's mother had friends in Northampton with whom she used to saty. They were not KNIGHT though and can't find any other link with Northampton so that is probably just a red herring!

Good morning EARLY BIRDS.

Iffy sort of night again, feel as though I have been pulled through a hedge backwards, this morning. ;-) ;-) ;-) I bet I woke FIVE TIMES trying to turn over, and my shoulder let me know it. :-( :-( :-(

Can't remember the last time I was on a train. excluding the underground. I would think it was when I was in the forces 1958/60. Goodness knows what a ticket to London from here would be, Jame should know as she travels quite often.

AnninG, I see you are researching "KNIGHTS" thats Ros's maiden name. All her family come from Northamptonshire, if thats any help.

Ros has changed the bed again this morning. The sheets are in the wash, I have put the line up, for when it's ready to go out. Nice blow in the breeze, and they will smell like SPRING. lol

Harvey has seen the link to a shower I sent him, and he has ordered it. I will pay him for it when he comes to fit it. He thinks it will just be a quick changeover. Haven't tried ours this morning YET. I hope it is not playing up as it's Ros's hair wash today, as well as a shower.

Nothing happening here today. Carolyn and John are down in Hastings, for the weekend. She rang last night to see how Ros got on with the MRI scan. She said the sea front is heaving with people, Ros did say it's HOLIDAY TIME. !!!! Martine had her Cataracts removed from one eye yesterday, and feels a bit out of things, so Ros will pick her up for shopping tomorrow.

Stay out of mischief, and I will catchup later. xxxx

Incidentally I sent a message to gill over 24 hours ago which is still not opened. That does suggest it is her PC which is playing up.

Does anyone have her mobile address who could send her a text?

Maybe it would be a good idea for the future to let at least one person on the thread have our mobile addresses.

Good morning all.
Frank Nice to be lazy sometimes. I always enjoy the evenings when we have eaten out lunch time so there is nothing to cook in the evening.
It is going to be hard when Val goes home, for both of them. I hope they don't send her home before she can at least cope a little and that there is some sort of care package in place.

Jane I bought a top in Sainsburys when we shopped there on Wednesday, it was in the sale, half price three quarter sleeves, pinky red and I got it for £6 so was well pleased. Yesterday in town I decided to have a quick look round Primark while filling in time before the chiropodist. I just looked at T shirts and actually bought one. It is white with small icons dotted over it, I just wanted it as a pool cover up in Lanzarote. It cost all of £2.50 and to be honest the quality is really not bad.
Enjoy your lunch today - no cooking tonight then?

Annx how strange about your OH's notes. I wonder if they got caught up with a newspaper or something and put in the recycling?

Vera, hope the train journey goes OK, what a price it is, ages since we went to London on the train, Gloucester is such an awkward station to travel from, goodness knows how much it would cost these days.
I hope you find your brother recovering well and in good spirits.
Well done your other half. When my leg is playiing up, although it hurts when walking it is really standing that causes the worst pain so it is good that he has been able to stand for a bit longer.

SuffolkVera Report 1 Aug 2019 21:55

Evening everyone

I have read the posts but don't think I've got the energy to respond to them much tonight. I seem to have been chasing my tail all day and am shattered.

The final straw was going online to sort out train tickets to go to London tomorrow to see my brother. What a performance! Using my senior railcard, I could have a return ticket for £23.55, provided I turned round and came home as soon as I got there. For £38 I could have an "anytime" ticket. I was just about to pay for that when I realised it had to be used on a set route and, believe me, it was a very peculiar route. I need to get to Whitechapel. I will go in to Liverpool Street station and Liverpool Street to Whitechapel is a straightforward 2 stops on the underground, so why did National Rail want to send me in the opposite direction and take me in a big circle with 3 changes? Greater Anglia wasn't quite so bad. They thought I should walk to Fenchurch Street station and get the tube there. Why?? In the end I paid £44.60 for a ticket that has to be used tomorrow but I can go at any time and on any route. Without my railcard it would have cost about £78!

Enough of my moans. OH is doing really well. He walked a few more paces tonight but what is really good is that he is able to stand for longer. After we had eaten tonight he managed to load the dishwasher and make a cup of tea. It's because he is making good progress that I feel I can leave him all day tomorrow. He can manage to put a pizza in the oven and get himself a drink and he's happy with his own company.

It's a bit worrying that Gill hasn't posted for a day or two. I hope it's just something like internet problems and not that she is poorly

I must now print out my confirmation email about my train tickets. I like to have something to say I have paid in case the dratted machine that dispenses the tickets isn't working. Our little station is unmanned so if anything goes wrong with the machine which sits on the one platform we have no way of getting our tickets.

Hope you all sleep well. Night, night

Annx Report 1 Aug 2019 18:12

Afternoon All,

Yes Mel, where did July go! :-0 The year seems to be flying by. The little boat will be great with your fisherman's cottage. :-D I had a little half made pony trap I kept right till I moved here, then decided to throw it away as I had too much stuff for downsizing. It will be a good project for you to finish off in the winter as you say.

Still no notes! He seems to have given up looking now, but I suspect he is waiting till I go to beading tomorrow, and will then start looking through MY stuff in the study! Gawd I hope I haven't moved them! :-0 AnnG he hardly ever forgets where he puts things as he is extremely tidy with his own things and puts everything away after he has finished with it. He is clueless with where things go in the kitchen though or which drawer different towels go in! lol

I went to Aldi today Mandy and came home with a tie dye kit! :-D There are 5 colours to mix, so that will be good to try out some time. I didn't get any fat quarters as I already had some of the blue squares and the pink wouldn't fit my colour schemes.

Jane it will be good to take Fitz tomorrow as I expect he is going a bit stir crazy on his own. It sounded nice where you went with Chris too. The little puss is sweet isn't he? I hope he finds a nice home.

We both feel a bit better today and less tired. Mind you we lay in till gone 10.00am so must have needed the sleep.

Frank that was a long time for Ros to be in the scanner. OH would have hated that. No wonder she couldn't hear the nurse though. Poor Val is probably in the best place for her and will be better fed I would think, but it's a shame for her.

It's rained a lot of today here and the puddle spray went above the car roof when we went out. The side of the road where some houses were being built had the ditch hidden by standing water and a lorry had given up trying to drive onto the site.

The garage conversion over the road to extend the lounge in Jean's old bungalow is going well and the window has gone in today. There is room to extend next to the garage so I wonder if they will build a garage on next.

Yes where are you Gill. I hope everything is ok and it's just the internet or being busy because of what the workmen are doing.

Afternoon All

Glad the MRI is over now for Ros. That was a long time for her to have to lie in the one position .I'm not surprised she couldnt hear the Nurses voice wit hthe ear plugs and headphones in ,plus the scanner sounds like a jack hammer.
I have been sitting outside with the laptop but have just hot footed (slowly) in as it looks like the heavens are about to open
:-S

Mel what were were making the little cottage out of? It sounds like a good project to pick up again :-D Something different.

Frank I loved the email about the cats today :-D :-D

I hope Gill is ok . Maybe there is just a bit too much upheaval with the gas meter business.

Chris took me to the surgery to collect my prescription this morning but only one item was there.I think it was my fault as only one item was requested .I must have unclicked the second(which is the one I really need ). I am ok for a few days .Qucik stop at Sainsbury for a few bits and I bought a nice top .It fits and for once I wont need to take it back :-D.

We had a helicopter overhead this morning It was so low I thought it was landing .It was yellow which made me think it was the Air Ambulance and it was coming for someone hurt at the works along the road. But it was in fact something to do with Electricity .Thats what the word said on the side of it. This has happened before and me thinking it was the Air Ambulance. They must be doing some kind of surveying.

Black as your hat here :-S still waiting for a downpour.Maybe some thunder too.It looks stormy.

Tomorrow it is out to lunch again this time with Fitz in tow :-D Back to the little place in Grafton Underwood. No cooking tomorrow then :-D :-D James wont be here as he is spending the day somewhere around the Guilford area (to do with work ) so will go straight on to Jess.
I keep thinking about that dear little cat Stanley. He looks so much like Thomas .The 2 differences are Stanley is short haired and doesnt have the big fluffy curly tail like Thomas .
