I've finally finished looking through all the information Mel sent me. Thank you so much for your help Mel.
Thanks to you as well Ann for letting me know Jane Taylor's birthday, I've now entered it onto my tree. I don't suppose you noticed her daughter's birthday? Don't worry if you didn't I just thought I'd ask. Jane's daughter was Elsie J Thompson, I did notice there were other's on the 1939 register but it didn't say who they were, I assume they were Elsie's family, maybe her husband and children. If it's possible and you don't mind, could you email me the image of the 1939 register please? It would be very helpful if it's possible. Thanks.
The marriage you mentioned is the one I found, but Mel said there wasn't any marriage banns, so I'll have to order the certificate to find out more.
I'm off to bed now, I think you all might be right and feeling sick earlier was probably to much screen time. I'll catch up properly with all the post in the morning. Night Night

Evening All,
A mixed day with a few showers. I nearly finished my bracelet today and just have to work out how to fix the clasp on now as it is a little short for my podgy wrists and needs a few extra beads added.
This does seem to be her as you say Gill, and the 1901 census gives her as born in Worcestershire as you say and in the Pershore district, but it has her year of birth as 1877? However, at first I couldn't find her in the 1939 census as her birth year is shown as 1895!! Looking at the image though, her DOB appears to have been wrongly transcribed and should read as 1875 with her actual date of birth as 16/12/ 1875.
Jane Taylor England and Wales Marriage Registration Index, 1837-2005

Frank that was a cracking breakfast wasn't it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Simon. It sounds like you got him a perfect present and it still will be if they sell the boat. I still think of the little dog in the hat Ros knitted! lol. I think Conrad is welcome to his 38 degrees.....phew, much too hot for me, I like it cooler like today!! lol I'm glad your trip out has bucked you up a bit.
Thanks for sending the animation video your eldest grand daughter made Vera. I thought it was brilliant and so true to life with the movements! She is a clever girl and has obviously worked hard to achieve her good results. She has made good progress as you say and as she likes what she is doing should continue to do so. Well done Ellie! It's a shame it looks like you will cancel your trip to Belvoir Castle. I haven't been for years, but after seeing a tv prog where they were restoring the Capability Brown Gardens I want to revisit once my knees are sorted out. I must have a look at the FB page.
I understand about the injections now Jane! I thought it was DIY NHS starting due to the pressures and shortages of staff!! lol. I bet your shower was wonderful and refreshing today. Was it all calm at Morrisons this time......??

Evening all ,
You sound much more cheerful today Frank the trip out has really done you good and the big breakfast sounded nice too . What a todo with all those letters ,they'll probably put it down to computer error but it does seem so wasteful doubling up on each appointment letter.
Thanks for sending your Gdaughters little film Vera you should be very proud of her it was brilliant i watched it twice :-D Those little book lending places are a good idea ,there is one in a village near us ,it's in an old phone box that isn't used any more so racked out to hold the books .
Oh Jane i bet you enjoyed the shower and felt so much better after . I see the Morrison's trip went ok with no cross words LOL Those old compression socks sound a night mare to get on Colin never had those when he came home or the injections ,he had them in hospital but not at home .
Tomorrow in the town instead of the usual carnival parade they are having a Peace day Celebration ,A steam train will arrive with soldiers from the war and people will dress up as visitors from 1919 and wander round the town ,i was just reading there will be MR & Mrs Gilbert who had a wine and spirit importers shop were we now have the Nat West Bank . There has been a hundred little bags hidden round the town for children to find with little crochet flowers in and a piece of paper which can be exchanged for a bag of sweets ,DIL has found three this week . I hope it's not going to be a wash out with the weather there's so much work gone into it . The craft ladies have been busy knitting again and i see the tree's in the town have lots of knitted things wrapped round them ,they are the ladies that knitted solders to cover the bollards in the town at last years carnival .
That's good the knee feels better today Mel and your mouth is less sore now ,perhaps you got some thing in your eye and it's scratched your eyeball.
Hope you feel better now Gill as Mel said it may be to much looking on the computer .
It's been a cloudy day here with a little sun and a few spots of rain ,but i did get some towels dry this morning .

Knee is much better and I have been able to wear my top teeth to eat dinners. Face is still sore by my eye but I am wondering if that was something completely different as my eyeball is sore.
I hav'nt looked t the film yet as I still have all Gill's looking up stuff on the pc. I have been having a sewing session this afternoon as I was going cross eyed with the pc and now I have gone cross eyed with sewing!!!!
I am waiting for a bit of a let up in the rain to go and corn the girls. I can hear the bantams moaning from the back door and the big girls have spent most of the day in their house.
I got some good pics through the window today of a Bullfinch and the Sparrow family on the feeder and a little Blue tit sheltering from the rain on the side of the bird house. Shall have to send them later as I must cook some dinner tonight just sausage mash and greens.
Every other day sounds good for your showers Jane and not the fight with the stockings. Bet you will be glad when they can come off forever. :-S

Shopping was successful this morning with 'no words :-D'. I went in the P.O first to get a sympathy card for my friend ,then the Pet shop to get a new Scratch pad for Thomas ,then Morrisons. I have to say I was beginning to struggle a bit at the end,so have spent most of this afternoon stretched out on the settee. I have now managed some steps without a crutch . Just one end of the room to the other.
Frank that breakfast sounded so good. In fact that is what we are having for dinner tonight :-D As we have eggs and Bacon that need to be used we thought why not. I will be supervising :-D :-D. How mad is that getting so many duplicate letters from the hospital !!!!. A waste of paper and postage :-S. Hope you find the right Bracelet for Ros. When is her Birthday?
It is tipping it down here now. I am expecting a very soggy cat to appear soon.He is probably hunkered down under a hedge or something.
Vera I loved Ellies short film. It was good of her to share it with us.Thanks for passing it on. How proud you must be .She is obviously a very talented young lady :-D
I said to Chris just now how I would love another shower tomorrow. His face was a picture as it means another struggle for him getting these compression socks back on.It is no easy feat. Maybe I should just shower every other day until I can take the socks off for good. I may have a ceremonial bonfire then :-D
Vera we have stayed in Suffolk many several times now and have been to Woodbridge,Snape Aldeburgh etc. We stayed in Aldeburgh twice. I love the Maltings at Snape as I love the shops there :-D :-D . This Rose Cottage looks right out in the sticks . Southwold is another place we like to go to. Chris likes the Adnams shop :-D
Frank, a Caterer sounds a great idea for Xmas dinner ,but I think we have all decided we will go to the local village pub .They arent taking bookings yet but have Hannahs details so will let her know as soon as we can book.
This rain is getting heavier now. There was some talk of possible thunder later. The garden will be lapping up this rain now :-D. No hosepipe needed today .
How is your knee and mouth today Mel?

I've been feeling a bit unwell for the past few hours so haven't been online, my laptop was still on but I felt sick so couldn't look properly at the screen.
I have just noticed your PM's and emails Mel, thank you so much for helping me find these people, I've looked at some of the emails and replied to the one you asked the question on. I'll take a look at all the other's and also the PM's, after this post.
I see you've had your shower now Jane, I did smile as you said exactly the same as OH about feeling clean, after he had his first bath.
Love the little film you sent that your granddaughter made Vera, she's very clever and well done to her for getting the job to.
It sounds like you just need to get out a bit more Frank if your trip this morning has bucked you up. I'm so pleased you are starting to feel better, enjoy your evening out with the lads.
Going to check my emails and PM's off Mel now.

Hi all, I just had to come on with A BIG MOAN. The postman came at 2.45 this afternoon. In the post there were SIX letters addressed to Mrs. Rosalind Bedford, ALL FROM THE HOSPITAL and from the SAME DEPARTMENT, with appointments, TWO were for the same appointment YES the same time and date. Two other were for appointments that she has already. DO YOU WONDER WHY the NHS is in so much trouble. What would SIX letters cost to post, ?? Especially as they were from the same department. I am sending a complaint to The Secretary of Health, not that I expect it will do any good.
What a great idea Vera, We could do with something like that in our village. The books (when I do have them) I pass on to a Charity shop, ir give them to a chap at the pub, who reads all the time. You have every reason to be proud of your G'Children, that short film by your G'Daughter shows how talented she is, and at only 22. has a long way to go, to achieve her goals. Which I am sure she will.
Yes Mel, If your would like the drive up, I am sure SALLY would welcome you for Breakfast. BUT what an expensive BREAKFAST THAT WOULD BE. lol lol
Had a nice quiet afternoon in the chair watching NAT.GEO, all about SHARKS. What incredible animals they are. The WHALE SHARK, has never been recorded have ever injured a human, apart from if they have been caught by it's swishing tail.
Have been looking for Ros's B'day present. She would like a Rose Gold Bracelet. I have found some YELLOW GOLD ONES, but she doesn't think it will look right, so the search goes on.
It's marvellous what a little trip out, like this morning, has BUCKED ME UP. I feel I might even try to get up the club tonight to see the lads.
First I will take Ros out for a light bite to eat somewhere, as I am not cooking tonight.
It's just happened again. I typed "a light bite" and it cane up as "a light fire" good job I noticed it.pr it would have looked strange "taking Ros out for a LIGHT FIRE" lol lol

Afternoon all
I have just sent you all an email attaching granddaughter's animation. Needless to say, I could brag for England on the talents of my grandchildren. If any of you are interested in musical theatre, have a look at Ilkley Operatic Society's Facebook page, either on their 'posts' or 'videos' section. They have a couple of snippets of songs from rehearsals of "Tommy" which is the next production for their junior section and both feature another of my granddaughters. F. was 17 a couple of weeks ago.
It's a very grey day today with rain on and off. We had a heavy shower just a short while ago. I was going to do a bit in the garden but everything is a bit soggy at the moment. I ought to shop as well but I feel very lethargic today so I think I might leave it till tomorrow. I've taken some salmon out of the freezer for tonight.
How lovely to have breakfast cooked for you Frank. That must have been a real treat. 38 degrees in Spain - phew, that's a bit hot for me. Of course in this country it is often humid when it's hot and I think it's the humidity that really gets to me. It seems more bearable when it's a drier sort of heat.
I can just imagine how much you enjoyed that shower Jane. I'll have a look at Rose Cottage. Do you know the Woodbridge area at all? It's not too far to drive from here so we sometimes go down that way and walk along by the river. You're also not far from the coast and from places like Snape Maltings and Sutton Hoo.
As it has stopped raining now I am just going to walk down to the local community centre, only a couple of minutes from here. Just inside the door there is a little set of bookshelves. People leave books they no longer want and you can take any book that you fancy reading. When you've finished it you can keep it, or pass it on to a friend or put it back on the shelf. There's no formal borrowing system, it's all done on trust and give and take, which is lovely. I've got a book I borrowed from there that I want to return and one or two of mine that I no longer want so I'm going to pop down with them now.

Afternoon all,
Glad you enjoyed your shower Jane All nice a clean now. lol lol
All change.!! yesterday afternoon I had a call from the opticians to say the person who was doing my eye test, has called in sick, so I am going 11.40 on Monday now.
We had a call from Sally also yesterday, to say she was cooking BREAKFAST for us, and not to eat. We arrived at 10.00 am to the lovely smell of cooking. Sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomato and baked beans with toast with a poached egg on. Coffee, orange juice. So we had a right old blow out. Something light for this evening I think. lol.
Lovely pictures as usual Mel, What a clever girl you are. Those little swallows look as they might push each other out of the nest. The dragon fly's hatching were just great.
Vera, I too would like to see your grand daughters work. What a bright future she has in store. Best of luck to her. xx
Gill, you certainly are having problems finding these relatives partners, I hope everything fall into place. I am sure with Mel and Anns help you will succeed. GOOD LUCK.
That cottage sounds a great idea for Christmas Jane, It would be lovely if you could find CATERERS, to cook and serve Christmas dinner for you all. The cost wouldn't be cheap, but spread the cost between you all, it won't seem to bad. Just a thought.
Simon loved his present, which was a JACKET for him to wear on the narrow boat. The only trouble is, they re now thinking of selling the boat, and buying a mobile Camper van. They have covered all the canals that they can cover in two weeks holidays. So it's time for a change. They can then, of course, travel further away from home for holidays and see more of the Country.
Conrad says the Temp. in Spain is now 38 degrees, He is spending a lot of time in the pool, when he gets home from work. I have invited Harvey up for Sunday dinner. He is not sure how is is fixed with work,he is doing at home, but should let me know later today, I don't know if Lewis will make it, as he will be working, but we hope he can.
Was in bed by 9.00 pm last night, couldn't sleep, so was up again at 11.30 just as Ros was going to bed. I sat and read for a couple of hours, but was awake by 5.30 this morning, so feeling a bit tired now. I think I am getting to feel a bit better in myself, even though I am not there yet. KEEP TAKING THE TABLETS, as they say.
Rained here since 9.00 am this morning. Still very dull with dark clouds, so I don't think we are finished with it yet. The gardens need it badly, so that's good.
Will try to get back this evening, in the meantime, take care. xxxx

Vera . Well done to your Grandaughter. They are great results and yes if she agrees I would love to see her short film :-D You asked where Rose Cottage is in Suffolk. It is Leatheringham ,Woodbridge. If you Google Aerial view Leatheringham Lodge you will see some great pics. The Lodge has a moat and Rose Cottage is the wooden cottage nearest to the Lodge.
We are off to the Post Office now and then to Morrisons . Hope we dont come to blows in Morrisons :-S. He will be in charge of the trolley.
Happy Birthday to Simon . I hope Frank enjoys his few hours out and about <3

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIMON <3 <3 <3
It's absolutely pouring down with rain at the moment, so I hope the roof tile that was put back up yesterday is doing it's job. OH is going to check in the loft to see if he can hear any drips, he took the tarpaulin away yesterday so if there are any drips he'll need to put it back again. Hopefully that won't be the case and everything will be okay.
Congratulations to your eldest granddaughter Vera, yes I would love to see the film she made. It sounds like a lot of pictures for just 30 seconds, she must have the patients of a saint. I'm so pleased for her though. Sorry to hear you might have to cancel your trip out, at least you have your visit to your daughter's which will be a change of scenery for you both.
I record Gardeners World on the repeat at the weekend Mel, so I haven't seen it yet. I've replied to your PM.
Jane Williams was living with her daughter Elsie J Thompson in Cheltenham Gloucestershire Ann in the 1939 register. She may well of been a widow as I think her husband Frank passed away in 1932, although his death needs confirming. I can only see their names and years of birth and maybe one or two other people living with them, but I can't see the image because I don't subscribe to the site.
I found Frank and Jane's 4 children yesterday and also their children's spouses, so I'm going to see if I can find their children' today (Frank and Jane's grandchildren) Williams is not an easy name to research is it?
Yes, I thought Frank was short for Francis AnnG, so the marriage I found might well be the one I've been looking for. My only concern was that Frank was born Frank not Francis, but I know how people changed their names back then, so it's possible the marriage I've found is the correct one.
Have a lovely time with Simon today Frank, hope it's not bad weather for you like it is here, the only thing that's enjoying it is the garden and of course the ducks lol ;-)
Have you had your long awaited shower yet Jane, I bet it was bliss if you have. Did you stay in there for long. OH joked he was going to stay in our bath all day, of course he didn't but it was funny when he said it as Sandra said no you're not what if we need the toilet. ;-) ;-) He did enjoy his first proper bath though and said it made him feel much better. I hope you feel better now, just be careful and pat the sore area dry.
OH's just come down from the loft and said everything is dry, so that's good.

Morning all,
As you have probably guessed its raining hereand there's a bit of a breeze too so not nice out there at all today and I think this is in for the day so they say.
Vera you don't go on so, I love your posts and I for one would love to see the film your eldest grandaughter made. In fact we would all like to see it if she would allow us to. I think I speak for everyone on here when I say this. Shame about your next trip out but if hubby is not well enough its best to give it a miss. It will be nice when he can go to daughters in the school holidays though. At least he will feel at home there.
Did anyone miss Gardeners World on Wednesday? I have saved it for tonights viewing as I look forward to seeing what they are all up to.

Good evening :-)
It's not been a very nice day here. It rained during the night and then there have been a couple of heavy showers during the day, though the garden still feels quite dry. At the moment it's very heavy and humid, real headache weather.
The photos are amazing as always Mel. We have had a thrush around on and off through the last few months. Yesterday there were two so I wondered if one was a youngster. If it was, it was only a bit smaller than its parent but still small enough to get inside the cage over the ground feeder. I was pleased about that because he had a good feed of mealworms. My iPad was nearby so I thought I would try and get a photo but by the time I had got myself in position it had flown away.
Love your horse felting picture Ann. I know I have said it before but I am such a cack-handed idiot and you are all so clever at crafts that I am in awe of you all.
Oh Jane, you are really going to enjoy that shower. You won't want to come out. I assume your injections are to help prevent infection. Everyone I know who has had an op in recent years has had to inject themselves afterwards for, I think, 28 days. What did we do in the past? I can't remember having injections or anti-biotics or anything after operations.
I'm glad your neighbour was able to fix your tile Gill. That's one more worry off your mind and OH won't have to get on the roof himself. I should think you were a bit gob-smacked when your Mum was asking about borrowing money for her friend. And then not to get it back till after she dies! What a cheek.
Frank, it's good to see you posting from time to time. Enjoy your coffee break with Simon. I know it's easier said than done and it can be hard to get motivated but if you can get out a bit more it will help your depression. I hope the eye test goes well.
OH is very good and keeps his mind occupied but I think he is beginning to feel a bit hemmed in. We tend to be out quite a lot and we have had to cancel quite a few things. I know he feels guilty because I am missing out as well but I am still able to get out and about locally. I just wouldn't be comfortable going further afield and leaving him for several hours. The next big trip we have booked is to Belvoir Castle in a couple of weeks but, unless he makes a miraculous recovery, we will have to cancel that as well. I don't think he could sit comfortably on the coach for a couple of hours in each direction, even if I could borrow or hire a wheelchair when we got there. Never mind, the school holidays start soon and then I will occasionally be able to drive him down to our daughter's for a break. It'll at least give him 4 different walls to look at.
I always seem to be writing about our problems but we did have some good news a few weeks ago which went out of my mind with everything else that has happened. As we were driving down to Gatwick at the start of our holiday my phone went. It was our eldest grandchild who had just finished her second year at uni. She is doing a degree in drama and film. There were four major pieces of work she had to produce during the year and her marks on these count towards her final degree grade. She had just been sent her grades. Three were marked as First, and the other one as a 2.1 so she is going in to her final year with a head start towards a good degree. One of the things she had to do was produce an animation. There were two ways to do it; one was easier and if the students chose that they had to make a film lasting a minute, or there was a more difficult but more professional way and they only had to produce 30 seconds of film. It doesn't sound much but to get 30 seconds of animated film that told a story she hand drew and coloured 400 pieces. I thought that it was amazing for a first attempt at filmed animation. I will ask her if I can send it to you if anyone would be interested in seeing it.
I have gone on a bit haven't I. You have probably all dozed off by now so I had better finish. Sleep tight everyone.

Jane poor little thing looked quite lost. I wondered if it was even supposed to be out of the nest we watched and listened to it until it hopped down the side of the house and it didn’t get fed. Hope it is ok but we can’t interfere or they will abandon it.
Enjoy your shower tomorrow, you will be sweet smelling.
Oh dear Mel that throws another name into the pot for Gill. Where was that marriage?
