Evening All,
Another sunny day for us all I think. :-)
Glad you are all settled in now Frank. Is the villa nice? I knew you would soon get Lola onside and I'm pleased the pups are doing well. Ouch that must have hurt walking into the glass door. It gives you a shock too doesn't it.
It's a great day for the barbeque for Jake. Happy Birthday Jake!! Does he do any of the barbequeing Mandy? I hope you have been more comfortable today.
I hope you are feeling a bit less down today Jane. The holiday and change of scene may help a bit . It's just the effort of getting packed and ready when you don't really feel you can be bothered.
Gill, I hadn't realised your OH was having an operation, so I hope he soon feels well so it doesn't get delayed. I hope your mum's angiogram results are good too.
We had a nice lie in then had F&C at The Shack in Falmouth today. It wasn't busy and plenty of space in the car park so we got a space really close. We've been there for the past 2 years and it was really nice They serve it on a sheet of paper on your plate with minted mushy peas, tartare sauce and a lemon wedge. :-) The Harbour is next to it so we went and looked at the expensive boats moored there. We then went to the garden I mentioned and my word, what a surprise!! This time at the pay shed it said to pay the gardener in the walled garden. What a beautiful garden! The lady gardener told us there was a little thatched place where we could serve ourselves tea and cake and just put money in the box there. I went down to the lake to take some photos while OH went off down a little path to the right to walk around it. There were Moorhens and chicks on the lake and half of it was covered in waterlilies which weren't flowering yet. When OH got back he said if I could manage it, to walk down the side path for a lovely surprise, so I did, past a little brook flowing from the lake. Round the corner was another lake, with a seat to sit on and all around the sloping sides, which were topped with tall trees were lovely flowers, grasses and bamboos sloping down to the lake, really beautiful. There were no other visitors so we had the place to ourselves. We spoke to the gardener on the way back and she said it had all been brought back to life in the past 18 years by the lady owner. She said the bottom lake was dry and everything had been overgrown when she moved there, including the walled garden. We also went on to The Lizard to the Gem Shop and I bought a palm stone and a heart shaped gemstone to bead, plus a group of 3 Owls ornament I liked. We then had a Roskilly's icecream and because she dipped the spoon in the wrong one, she scraped it off and gave OH it as a free extra, so she then had to do the same for me! Now we are relaxing looking out over the fields.

We have just spent today walking around Cameas. Weather was better than expected cloudy first thing but some sun this afternoon. We walked a mile along the river that leads to the old brick making place along the tramline path.
We bought a pasty for Tony and a piece of quiche for me for a late lunch which we took out onto the lawn overlooking the bay together with a bottle of white wine. Jane hope you are feeling a bit better today. Only a shared scone because we have a huge breakfast every day.
All packed now ready for home tomorrow. We really have been so lucky with the weather.

Hi all from VERY SUNNY SPAIN.
I got Conrad to link me up to the web. It didn't seem to work, but I just tried again and here I am.
I did Email Jane this morning to say I couldn't get on here.
We arrived safe nd sound at 8.30 pm yesterday. We went to a restaurant to eat. Who walked into a PLATE GLASS WINDOW. ?? thinking it was open. ONLY STUPID ME. Nice bump on the head to show for it. The staff and Conrad thought I had injured myself, but it was only my THICK HEAD. !!!!
When Conrad went back to work this afternoon, he took the girls to a shopping precinct where they will spend the afternoon, I have been lying in the sun with a few beers. He will pick them up later.
The puppies are doing fine and LOLA and I are the best of friends, she always coming up to me for a fuss. ;-) ;-) ;-)
We had a nice lunch of Cold meats, Salad and Strawberries. (Which I didn't have). Conrad tends only to eat Salads, but I expect he will eat Meat when he goes out with us for meals. As he did last night.
I haven't looked at any posts, so I will try to catch up later.
Going to freshen up in the shower before they all come home.
See you later.

Good luck Mel :-D :-D :-D Hope it goes smoothly for you.
Mum said she'd ring me later, but it's nice to know she'll be home today.
OH is feeling a little better today, but his ear is still a bit sore, the nurse said he could get an infection, so he's keeping an eye on that as he has to go for an op on his stomach soon, so having an infection could jeopardise it. Apart from that he's not to bad today. He has to see the consultant next Wednesday so hopefully he'll have a date for his operation soon.
I'm doing a bit more of OH's tree today while I wait for mum to ring and have found a tree match I'm now in touch with, who is OH's 6th cousin. I sent other messages out but they just read them and never replied. Some people are like that aren't they? It's not something I could do, but each to their own I suppose.

Morning all
Cloudy today but quite warm, at least it's dry. The birds are loving the mealworms we've just put out.
<3 <3 HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY JAKE <3 <3 Have a great day at the BBQ
How are you feeling today Mandy with your Gall stones, it sounds very uncomfortable, I hope you managed to get some sleep and feel a bit better today.
It sounds like you've had another lovely day out Ann, I'm looking forward to seeing some pics when you return home. How are you getting on with your new beading?
I hope the water leak can be sorted soon Mel, it sounds like it might be an expensive job, hope it's not to pricey for you. One of my Rhodo's is in flower and looks lovely in the bottom border, the one in the side border looks like it might flower soon to. Sorry to hear your's are burnt by the sun. Could you plant something around it to protect it. It's a shame when something look so pretty and it's damaged like that as there's not much you can do about it is there?
Frank should be in his shorts enjoying the Spanish sun now. I wonder how he's getting on with Lola and her pups.
Sorry you were feeling down yesterday Jane, I hope you feel a little better today, it's going to take time isn't it? Sending hugs to everyone <3 Did Thomas come home or is he still hiding somewhere? The break away will do you and Chris good and give you some time to relax.
Mum didn't come home in the end, she had to wait for her meds to be sorted so she's coming home today. Because she's been in over night she doesn't need anyone to stay with her and the hospital are sorting out transport from Liverpool so no one has to drive on the terrible roads there. I've just spoken to her but the nurse turned up so she's going to ring me when she gets home to let me know how the angiogram went. I think it went okay though as there was no mention of her having a stent put in and I'm sure if she needed that they wouldn't let her home. I'll know more later.
The fella didn't turn up to do the gates yesterday, so they may turn up today, but you're right, heavy oak gates can't be attached to our flimsy wooden fence panels. We'll keep an eye on them just to make sure they don't start knocking and banging on the fence otherwise it's likely to fall down and I doubt they'll pay for it to be replaced, no one has fixed the front fence, which looks like we'll have to pay for now. I wouldn't mind but the front fence was only put up a year ago and is now broken in 4 places including the end concrete post which is now on an angle.

The only device the Homeserve man had was a long bit of metal with a flat top you put to your ear. If the winds blowing or there's traffic or rain thats not good cos you can hear all that. What makes me cross is I have a pair of devining rods that I can use but I don't know where I have put them.
Ann I took a look at the house you've been to today and it looks very interesting.
I told you it was going to be sunny this week cos my Rhodo in the middle of the west lawn was in flower. It happens every year the sun burns the flowers. Every blooming year without fail.
Mandy I hope your gall stones have settled down now and you feel more comfortable. Was it something you ate?
I am now going to watch Chelsea.

Oh Mel, that's not what you expected with the leak is it? If it is on your land I hope it's not far onto it, so it won't be as expensive or disruptive to repair. Like Mandy said they have tracking devices to find the route of the pipe.
I bet Jake will enjoy the Barbie Mandy. Food tastes nicer outside on a nice day. Do you make him a cake? Sorry to hear your gallstones are playing you up. I hope a nice rest has settled things.

Evening All I thought Jake was 14 Mandy. He is growing up so quickly now isnt he. Bet the hormones will kick in soon and he will become a grumpy monosyllabic teen LOL I remember those days well with James. (Kevin as Harry Enfield was in the TV show)
Sorry you are uncomfortable with your Gallstones and not being able to do a big burp.Classic Gallstone pain between the shoulders :-S Will you have to have an op to get rid of the stones?
Yikes BEES Ann. I am not surprised you ran the other way (knowing the reaction you get if stung)
Gill, how is Mum? Has she able to go home or not? Could she not have come to yours for the night? It would have been scary for Sandra if she had gone to stay with her and something happened. How is OH now after his dizziness and sickness after having his ears down? Hopefully all settled down now. How did next doors gate go? Fingers crossed there were no problems for you.
Was it Bideford today Mel for shopping? Pannier Market? I can still picture that Market :-D I need to get a wiggle on tomorrow and sort what I am going to pack clothes wise. I have been feeling a bit low today.I think it is just all to do with what has happened .I need to give myself a good shake up and start looking forward to our week away :-)
I enjoy reading your posts AnnG . You and AnnX are really good at describing the places and things you see. Now Gammon and Chips with Pineapple is a definite no no for me. It has to be an egg :-D. I just am not keen with fruit and meat. How did you manage to share just 1 scone???? Was it is whopper? :-D
Frank ,I think might be flying out tonight. At least it should be a nice smooth flight with no turbulence. He will be in his shorts by the morning :-D, and hopefully will be on best friends with Lola the dog.

Jake will love a BBQ for his birthday tomorrow. All kids like a Barby. Weather is looking good for it too.
As I arrive home the water board van was parked across the village hall car park and oh was talking to the young man. He told oh we DO NOT have a leak either side of our meter like the man from Homeserve told us but there is still water clocking up on the meter so it must be on our land. Thats going to be expensive......................and they have to find where our pipe runs. The only place I know where it is is by the side of our road outside the wall before it comes through the arch. From there I have no idea where it goes but do know it is outside our bungalow bathroom window. We have no water lying anywhere in the garden that we know of so I think it may be a very big job.
Is'nt it quiet on here with so many people away?
Hope Gill's mum has had her angiogram and they have found what the problem is. Best wishes to your mum Gill.

Evening All,
Another lovely sunny day pretty much everywhere I think. What a shame you couldn't get on your borders today Mel in this lovely weather.
AnnG the places you went to sounded very interesting. We never went to the airfield visitor centre, but it sounds as if it was good.
Today after a nice lie in we had a lovely lunch (carvery!) at the Victoria Inn near Truro where we've been before and they do a huge range of veg and it gets very busy. Then we drove to Bosahan Garden, Manacan and very nearly didn't find it down umpteen narrow lanes and hairpin bends! People are so friendly down here and there was no-one around except a handyman? who told us to leave money in the honesty box!! We'd got a 2 for 1 voucher from a gardening magazine for this garden so off we went. There were no other visitors around and when OH opened the box next to the honesty box it was crammed full of £20, £10 and £5 notes. Amazing no-one had stolen it!! The garden was fantastic, tropical with huge palms, echiums and plants I didn't know. We had to laugh at the toilet. It was a wooden garden shed split into 2, ladies and gents with a door each side. Still it did the job!! Round a corner we came across a beautiful house in a wonderful position overlooking the estuary. There were two canons at the back pointing towards the water. We then met a middle aged chap on his bike who asked if we liked his house!! We were almost taken in, but he was a german tourist and we had quite a long chat with him. There was a pond and boat and woodland walks, but it was a steep path to those, so I wandered around taking photos while OH went down to the pond. We called for a coffee on the way back, did a crossword and word wheel before sitting outside enjoying the view here. There are lots of bunnies and it is silent at the moment apart from birdsong.
Will they do any procedure for your mum today as well Gill? I expect they will have to keep her in if they won't let her out. I can imagine Sandra would be anxious about staying with her in case anything happened. I hope your gate post won't be affected by the work next door. Where I lived before we concreted in strong posts across the bottom of our garden, but the neighbour next door had a flimsy affair. He was always tying his fence to our fence post (without asking) and I was always untying it! It was a playing field at the back of the fences and he used to get youths climbing over his lower flimsy fence to get balls back and we didn't want it to loosen our post.
Starting my new bead kit now! The first bit looks a bit tricky! :-)

Evening all,
It's been another lovely sunny day here ,i expect Frank will be well on the way to the sun now .
Gill i wouldn't think they would hang big oak gates on your fence panels they would need good sized posts to hang them on because of the weight of them . I hope all has gone well today for your mum and that there is some one who can spend the night with her so she can come home . Hope OH's sickness and dizzy spells have eased for him .
Oh Ann that was a close call with the Bee's good job you noticed them ,i wonder how far the chap got in his car before he noticed them ,mind you once he got going they would probably have flown off or got blown off . Glad you managed to get some beads so you have some thing to make in the evenings .
AnnG it sounds as if your having some lovely sunny days and lots of coffee and cake .
Hope Di coming round didn't make you late going shopping Mel.
My Gall stones have been playing me up , i get an indigestion like pain between my shoulder blades it's so uncomfortable , it feels like i need to do a big burp but i carn't . So this afternoon i have had a nice rest sitting in the garden .
Jane that was lucky just getting home before the doctor rang ,our doctors do phone call appointments it's quite handy . Hope that naughty Thomas has turned up ,it's funny how they can sense when your off on holiday . Yes Jake will be fourteen tomorrow ,son and DIL will be doing a BBQ for him ,the weather should be ok to sit in the garden.

Hav'nt read Gill's post yet but I wanted to wish Frank and Ros a safe journey today and I know they will enjoy their time in Spain. Take your laptop Frank so we can hear from you or we are going to be very thin on the ground for a few weeks. Love and wishes to Lola and pups and don't get bitten. Morning all
Sunny and reasonably warm here today. We're waiting for the drive people to turn up next door as they're suppose to be doing the gates today and we don't want anything attached to our tall side fence, it's been up over 11 years and not in very good condition so if they start knocking and banging it could fall down or break. They are having big oak gates put up so our flimsy fence won't hold the weight, plus when it rains it'll swell up and put pressure on our fence which won't do it any good. At least they'e not putting the gate in line with ours like the last people did, every time it rained and the wood swelled we couldn't open and shut our gate, in the end with having to push and pull on it so hard it broke and we had to have a new one put in last year, we didn't want that to happen again, but if the fence to the side of it breaks it'll be a waste of time having the gate. We can't see how they are going to put their gate up as there is only one very large oak post concreted in their drive in the middle and nothing either side to attach anything to.
I'm concerned about mum to today as she is off to Liverpool. She rang me yesterday as she's only in for today and comes home later but she needs someone to stay over night with her or they won't let her out. OH had his ears done yesterday and is now dizzy and sick so I can't go and mum said my sister is now back in work, so I don't know who's going to be staying with her now. She might have to stay over night at Liverpool hospital, but with it being an outpatients appointment they won't have a bed. Hopefully I'll hear something later so I'll know what's happening. I think mum was angling at Sandra staying with her but OH and I don't think it's a good idea in case something happens, Sandra would panic and get herself in a state and it could effect for her quite a while after to. I remember the state she was in after the neighbour was broken into and the fire next door, so we don't want her to go through anything like that again. I think sometimes my mum forgets Sandra is special needs and things effect her in different ways to the rest of us. Sandra would be so frightened on her own if anything was to happen and wouldn't have a clue what to do. So mum's going to have to get someone more capable to stay with her. I can see today being quite stressful and I'll be glad when it's over.
I see your new cooker is working well now Mandy, have you been cooking up a storm with the girls? Good idea to give Jake money for his birthday Sandra has money of her nan and gran and much prefers it, that way she can buy herself something nice. Once next door is finished and my mum is home and okay we're going to take her to Chester Zoo and also to the shops so she can spend her birthday money.
How is your OH today Mel, I hope he's not in any pain and has rested. I know what you mean when you have a nice day and don't feel like gardening. I'm sure they'll be more nice days ahead for you to get up the borders. Hope all goes well when they fix the water leak today.
Safe journey today Frank, remember what I said the puppies have to stay in Spain, so no bringing them back in your suitcase lol ;-)
So you have a new beading kit to do in the evening's now Ann, it sounds nice, I'd love to see a picture when it's finished. I've seen a swarm of bees like that on someones car on Bondi Beach on TV, he didn't know either, but as he drove off the bees flew away, it must of been the wind blowing them off, as the car picked up speed. It must of been a shock to see them, I bet you were glad to get into your own car and drive away.
It sounds like you had another lovely day out AnnG, how long are you staying there, are you going on anywhere else after? You're certainly finding some interesting places to visit and will have lots of lovely memories of your trip when you return home.
That was good you making it home just in time for the GP's call Jane. Did you sort your tablet out in the end? Has Thomas come back yet, maybe he knows he's going to the cattery and is hiding somewhere. Hope he's back in time. I can image you're not as excited as you would be to go away, but it'll do you good to have a break. Try and enjoy it and have a lovely time. Sending hugs to everyone <3
I did quite well on OH's tree yesterday so didn't see Gentleman Jack in the end. I'll see if I have time to watch it today, it's on the planner so it's not going anywhere. I did watch the first part of Hatton Garden last night, it was more like a comedy than anything else and quite slow I thought, hopefully it'll get better as the week goes on, it's on for 4 nights this week and finishes on Thursday.

I did'nt get in the garden this afternoon at all. I am now cross with myself because its been a lovely warm day and I have wasted it not going up the border. When I did get some time I just did'nt feel like it so stayed indoors and did nothing. Naughty girl....

Another bright blue sky sunny day. We drove a very short distance to see a tiny church on a cliff. Called St Patrick’s legend has it that St Patrick was shipwrecked not far off shore and rescued so he built the church as a thank you. After a walk around looking at the view we drove off again, next stop was Bull Bay from here we drove to Moelfre to the RNLI information centre and lifeboat station. Where there were some really interesting information re the RNLI and individual lifeboats since the RNLI was started by William Hiilary. So many brave, heroic rescues. What a great job they do. From here we drive to Traeth Bychan where there was a beach cafe. We had a drink and shared a scone. Back to Cemaes, sat in the garden for a while and Celina brought us a cup of tea and some lovely chocolate cake. After a good break we went for a walk round the harbour and had an ice cream, followed by a walk along the site of the old tram lines which ran from the brick Akers to the harbour, alongside the river and through beautiful trees. In the evening we again ate at the Stag both of us having gammon and chips, mine with egg and Tony’s with pineapple. And the sun was still shining as we walked back to Treddolphin guest house.

Evening All,
A lovely sunny day today which should be the case till Friday when the forecast suggests it will be overcast.
For the first time here I had a sleepless night, was too hot then too cold so an early night for me I think.
I see you will be off for your lovely holiday tomorrow Frank, so best wishes for a lovely time and use your charm on Lola as we don't want you coming back missing a finger or two!! :-0 I hadn't realised Conrad had a new villa, so that will be nice for you to see.
We had a long chat with the owner here this morning and it seems Brexit is having an effect on business as people are saving money by coming here for long weekends and short breaks rather than weeks since all the uncertainty. They have the concrete bases down for 2 more lodges but aren't buying any just yet.
I called and bought some beads today Mandy. The lady made up a kit for one of her patterns for me in colours I like. It is a pendant necklace and will keep me busy in the evenings! I'm sure Jake will appreciate some money for his birthday and will enjoy planning the spending of it!!
We called in Asda's at Hayle today and as we walked out I suddenly noticed a lot of bees flying round me and a few bashed into my arms. You can imagine after my previous experience with the wasps I was scanning around to see where they were coming from. Yikes, there was a swarm forming on a car to the left and OH was heading straight for it, so I shouted to him and walked the opposite way myself. Luckily our car was nearby. OH saw the man who's car they were on jump in without noticing and he drove off with them hanging on to his car!
I hope your mum won't be at Liverpool Hospital for long Gill. I'm sure Sandra could do her a nice 'Get Well' card to cheer her up while she's there. It sounds like her room is almost finished except for you getting the wallpaper up. :-)
I hope they don't let you down over the leak Mel. Will they refund you do you think? You are having a good go at your garden now and your plants sound lovely. I thought of you when we came past the moors on the way here as they were a beautiful mass of blue because of the Bluebells and remember you saying how you saw them on the moors on one of your trips out. I hope you OH can soon get more comfy at night with his hip. I expect he has tried what painkillers he can. Would a warm bath help?
I hope AnnG has had a good day today and that the ankle is feeling better now.
