That was a lot of sleep Mel, like you said you must of needed it. I thought I had a good nights sleep but I'm very tired again now, just been outside to wake myself up as we've finally got around to watching Earth from Space I recorded and it's very good.
Did you ever watch the rest of them Frank, I remember you saying you watched the first one when you were away and wanted to watch the other three when you got home. It's a brilliant programme isn't it?
I forgot to say earlier, the Chelsea Flower Show starts today 6pm on BBC.1 if anyone is interested.
Hope you manage to catch up with all your jobs today Mel, that's the only down side to sleeping in you end up behind all day......or like you said all behind like a ducks tail lol :-D :-D

Morninng you lot,
Bright day here this morning. I got up at 5.45am for the loo and then slept until oh got up and fell asleep again and got up at 11am. How's that for a nice long sleep. I must have needed it after all that time up the border yesterday. I did'nt do much up there last year with the heat so it really needs seeing to this year. It has so much grass in it and its twitch which runs through everyt hing. Oh said I will never get that out so it will just be done how I c an manage. The delphiums are growing well and the peony's are in bud and the clematis are floweringand have gone right up the wall on the dead climbing hydrangeas.
Must get on as I am all behind now like a ducks tail.

Morning Frank and AnnG, morning all
Another cloudy day here but it's still quite warm, it looks like we've had a bit of rain as everywhere is damp, I've watered the toms and strawberries, plus the bluebell climbers in the greenhouse and pulled out some very tall weeds in the top border, I'm now having a cuppa. Had a lovely nights sleep, first one in a long time, so I feel a lot better today.
Sorry to see you had a bad night Frank, hopefully you'll sleep better once you get to Spain.
Enjoy your day exploring AnnG, hope the rain stays away. How is your foot now?
I've just Googled Crinodendron Mel and it wasn't the one I was thinking of, I was thinking of the bright orange ones that look a bit like Chinese Lanterns. I have seen Crinodendron before but forgot what they were called. They are a very pretty plant. I'm now thinking of buying myself some as I'm looking for evergreens that flower. It sounds like you worked very hard yesterday if you needed an early night, I hope you slept well and feel better for it today.
Going to finish my drink then I might take another look at OH's tree. I haven't done much on it for the last few days with everything going on with mum.

Good morning All.
Woke at 5.30 for the loo, couldn't settle, so got up at 6.00 am. I have booked a table for a meal at 3.00 p, today. That was done before 6.30 am.
No gill, I didn't get any rest while Ros was out, but was in bed by 9.30 last night and went straight off to sleep. I sat and watched the CUP FINAL. What a time to play it. As far back as I can remember it was always 3.00 pm KICK OFF. It was mentioned that WEST HAM beat the ARSENAL in 1980. That was the year I went to Wembley with Ros's DAD. Blow me that was almost FORTY YEARS AGO. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Where do the years go ??
Ros has just got up so will go and make her tea, and get myself another. BBL

No gill not the orange ones these are red ones. The ones you're thinking about are a perennial these are a shrub. Google crinodendron and you will see pics of them.
Good mums is feeling more comfortable now and is trying to get some sleep when they leave her alone. I do hope they can find just what the problem is and put things right for her quickly. Give her my best wishes when you see her or talk to her.
I have just made a jelly and fruit and went to put it in the fridge and had to rearrange a few things and saw the state of the shelf so everything came out and I washed the shelf and put everything back in again. Now I am going in the garden for a while.
Oh is still trying to get his mower to work. Its just as well we have another one.

I tried ringing mum but we got cut off, she rang me back a few minutes later, her battery had run out so she had to put her phone on charge. Well, she's being kept in and they are hoping to do the angiogram early next week, we'll know more then. She said the blood results are back but they haven't told her anything about those yet. I need to take a couple of nighties in as the one I rushed putting in her bag is a bit to tight and doesn't feel comfortable, so I'll take them to her later as OH is at her's doing some more painting at the moment. He's hoping to have it all finished before she comes home then it'll just be the papering in the alcoves to do when she goes away for a few days next month. So all in all good news for mum at least they are doing something now and not sending her home to wait till the end of next month for the angiogram, so that's something.
Mum spoke with my sister this morning when she rang mum and will speak with her again later this afternoon as my sister didn't get to sleep until gone 3am and she's tired so she's gone home to have a sleep. I told mum I wouldn't text her or I would wake her up and there's nothing else to say until mum is moved to the cardiac ward and hears back about her bloods. I didn't sleep very well last night and have been awake since before 6.30am.
The workmen turned up next door making a right racket cutting bricks out of the way so they could put the posts in for the new gates, it didn't take them long but it was very dusty and noisy again. I'm hoping they don't attach the side gate to our fence as it's not strong enough to hold the weight of the large oak posts they are using. Our fence has been up 11 years so wouldn't be any good to attach a post to, he said they wouldn't but we'll keep an eye on them when they come back to be sure they don't, we've had experience with workmen when they say they'll do one thing, then do the complete opposite.
I see your were woken up by Ros Frank, I hope you managed to get some more sleep while she's out. So no cooking and your holiday has started already, lucky you. I'm just glad I did a big pan of stew the other day as there was plenty for Sandra and I last night which saved me cooking and a bit over for tonight as half of what I gave mum I had to bring back. At least it won't go to waste.
It looks like you're doing well with your eggs now Mel, maybe they are starting to setting better now. Let's hope they keep on laying and don't break anymore. Mum said she slept well last night so that was good. She tried to sleep yesterday afternoon after we'd all left but just as she was dropping off the nurse came to take more bloods, so she was shattered when it was bed time. She sounded more cheery on the phone this morning and more relaxed now she's knows they are doing more for her, so that's helped me relax a bit. Your flowers sound nice, are the lantern ones, those that are bright orange, or am I thinking of something else? If they are I think they look lovely and will go well with your red roses.

Good morning all,
I haven't read the posts, just flicked through them. Glad you have your OP date Jane Pre Op on my wedding anniversary I see. Hope things you well for both you nd FITZ.
Gill I do hope there isn't any real problem with Mum's heart. Perhaps more STENTS will be put in. They have done marvels for Ros.
She has emptied the fridge of all perishables and taken them to Martine, then she is off to have her nails done.
Regarding food until we go away. Tonight will be a Takeaway, tomorrow the Carvery, and Monday a meal at one of our eateries. NO COOKING. SO MY HOLIDAY HAS STARTED. Not that it feels like it. I had a terrible night agin. This morning I popped to the loo and got back into bed. It was 7.00 am I was in a lovely sleep when MADAM decided she wanted something out of my bedside cabinet, and woke me up. That was 9.00 am I NOW FEEL TERRIBLE. In fact I am going to lie on the bed and try to get some sleep before she comes home. See you soon xxxx
I hope everyone is well, and for those going away have a lovely time. xxx

Morning Gill and all,
Dull and heavy looking sky here this mroning and its been raining.
My red roses are out on the wall and the lantern bush (Crinodendron) is in full lantern too. They are so weird the flowers on that shrub.
Gill do let us know as soon as you hear how mum is please. I hope she had a good night. Sometimes these wards can be so noisey with other patients calling out it keeps you awake with being used to be on your own.
Plenty of eggs for Em this mroning at least a dozen so she will be pleased and I don't have to worry about not having enough for tomorrow as there are 18 sitting in the egg tray over there on the counter. I have been hving three a day for a few days now so hope there is the same this morning as I have not been out there yet. We will see...

Morning all
Dull and cloudy but no rain so far today.
I got the error page again and couldn't get to the end of the thread so I've done the post date thing so I could read the recent posts, it's a bit confusing to read as they are all back to front.
Safe journey to everyone going away today, hope you all have a lovely time, can't wait to hear all about it when you all return home.
I know what you mean about coming back to an untidy house, so don't blame you all for having a clean around before going away.
I'm pleased to see your OH wasn't to upset about his experience the other night Ann. A dashcam is a brilliant idea, as like you said the police like those sort of things then they know exactly what has happened. It is a very dangerous game those boys are playing though and very silly as they could be seriously hurt if it was to go wrong and it wouldn't be very nice for the poor driver either.
Pleased to see Anne is okay Mel, thanks for letting us know. Your journal note pad sounds nice, I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of it later.
Did you enjoy your day at the garden yesterday AnnG, I hope the weather was nice for you as it was a bit all over the place here starting with rain, brightening up for a few hours then going cold and windy later, so I hope it was better for you and it didn't rain again.

Safe journey down Ann and hope the knees hold out ok for some nice wakls around in Cornwall.
Jane your op came quite quickly and it surprised me as I thought you would have to wait longer. At least you can have your little holiday first and then the op and good luck to Fitz with his too. It will be funny to have you both on crutches at the same time. Poor Chris is going to play chauffeur for both of you I suppose.
Gill your mum should never have been sent home on her own until they had the results of the blood test etc. As we have all said she's in the best place where she can be supervised all the time and I think they have a buzzer they can call a nurse with if she feels bad. I know I did in 2008 when I had that heart trouble.
Just to let you all know I have been in touch with Anne and she is ok so not to worry about her. Ruby is up to her usual bubbley self and well too.
Its been really cold here today but it kept me in and I finisihed the journal note pad thing I was making. Will send a pic tomorrow. I wanted to have a go at this project as it has a cover textured with lots of bits of tissue paper and then painted and gilded.
Jane I shall get ready for that then and start making another one soon. Did the parcel get through the letter box?? or did the posty have to knock?
Mandy what were you up to withLacey that you had things to put away. We always like to know what the girls do when they stay with you. Have they all made friendship braclets?
Well I am now going for a shower and then going to bed as I am tired not doing much today and I never know why that happens.

Evening everyone
Oh dear Gill, I’m so sorry to hear that your Mum is back in hospital. As others have said, she really is in the best place. They will be able to keep a good eye on her and you will not be worrying about her being home on her own. Best wishes to her.
Not too long to wait for your op. Jane. You’ll be a new woman once it’s done. Your OH won’t know what's hit him :-D :-D. Whereabouts in Yorkshire are you going? Son and family lived in Ilkley for ua number of years and now live in Otley.
I hope you have a lovely calm weekend with the family and can continue the healing process together. A gentle (((hug))) for you.
I also hope Anne is OK. I remember her saying that she hadn’t been too well and have been wondering how she is.
AnninG, were you going on to Anglesey and have I muddled you up with someone else? I hope the weather stays good for you.
Looks as though you are going to get some sun Frank. Lucky you. But make sure you get there - no more tripping and slipping. There might not be a post to catch you next time. Please be careful.
Sorry to hear your knees and back are painful Ann. A little holiday is just what you need. Safe journey and have a lovely time.
Mel and Ann, thank you for the lovely photos. Gorgeous hawthorn and wisteria and I love the old wall. The sunset is stunning and aahhh those cute little ducklings.....
We have not had a good day. We have this dratted coffee morning tomorrow so today we had the jobs divided up between us. I was to clean the downstairs of the house, including washing the kitchen floor and would shop, OH would do all the garden jobs. It was a bit of a cold, grey day so he decided to water the pots first, then clear some rubbish from down one side of the house and move some pots, then sweep all the paved area. He watered 2 pots and came in saying he would have to stop as he could feel his back giving up (an old injury). So I have had to do everything, including icing a cake. The only thing left is the kitchen floor and I’ve decided I am exhausted so t’s going to be left unwashed. It doesn’t look bad.
Also, as soon as I had swept up all the patio area, the pigeons came down and threw a load of earth out of a bed onto the patio and then it rained. I was not a happy bunny
I have also had a bad back since last weekend which was just beginning to recover well but is really sore again now after all my efforts today. Still, I am glad OH stopped when he did. He used to grit his teeth and carry on through the pain and then end up in agony for 3 or 4 weeks but now he stops at the first sign of trouble and rests and sometimes he is OK in a day or so.
That’s enough of my moaning. I am now going to have a glass of wine, a few chapters of my book and an early night.

I must admit I wondered if Jane and Fitz would get the same bed!! lol It's the same 6 weeks no driving after a knee op too Jane and I thought I would go stir crazy waiting that long, even with OH popping me here and there. You can't meander and detour where you fancy as much when someone else drives. :-D I used to be able to leave the house a lot cleaner when I went away, but knees dictate things now. I think with me I find it depressing coming back to a house after a holiday that looks as if I need to roll my sleeves up straightaway. lol The weather looks ok for Sunday and Monday at least so I'm hoping it won't be too bad. As long as it is dry I don't mind, better cool than too hot for me. I've remembered my binoculars this year, so will look a right ducky with those and my poles. lol
OH had a meeting all afternoon Gill and lots of work bits to sort out before we go so he hasn't had time to think about anything else. He liked AnnG's idea of a dashcam though. I hope the hospital soon find out what treatment your mum needs. Fancy it happening as your sister is at a wedding too, but as you say, she cannot do anything. Good idea for your hubby to get some painting done at your mum's while she isn't there. It will look nice for when she gets back too.
I hope you have a nice week away too Jane. Where you are going is a part of Yorkshire I haven't seen that much of as we used to stay in Wensleydale mostly and quite near where Richard Whitely used to live. I think you will enjoy the train trip.......I think you said you would be doing it?
Have a great break Frank and just ignore the dog till she comes to you like you said and feed her a few treats and she will probably be your best friend. I can just picture you with your cold beers getting a nice tan! lol.
Early night for me now I think and I know OH wants one. We are stopping on the way to eat at the nice services at Gloucester :-D I'm taking my laptop so will be popping in now and again.

I think my house is the cleanest it has been for ages when we go away. You would think the Queen might be dropping in LOL I do hope your poor knees and back don't make things too difficult for you when you are away .At least you wont be doing any hoovering or cleaning:-) I hope you have a lovely week and I am sure you will have plenty of lovely photos for us to see when you get home. I can just picture me and Fitz hobbling around on crutches ! He better not tell me any horror stories of his op before I have mine otherwise I might change my mind LOL . Chris will be ferrying us up and down the lane as there will be no driving for us for 6 weeks !!!. I cannot imagine not being able not to drive for that long.I am out and about in the car every day. H&G will be here around 7.30

Just had a call from mum she's had her second set of bloods done so has to wait for those results now to compare them with the first lot she had, they are keeping her in as they want to do more tests tomorrow and they want to monitor her over night to. I will text my sister about 10pm I doubt she'll hear it come through so she should get it when she returns to the hotel, she will probably ring me then if it's not to late or first thing in the morning. Mum is going to ring me tomorrow after the doctor has done her rounds to let me know if she's coming home or not. She's hoping and so am I that they keep her in and sort the problem out rather than sending her home to go back again. OH has just gone to her's to do the gloss painting while she's not there so she isn't sitting in the fumes, he said she won't be able to smell the fumes by the time she goes home then. Yes it is very stressful for us all but at least she's in the right place now so I can relax, well for tonight anyway.
I see you have your date for your op Jane, good luck, hope all goes well for you. Will Fitz be warming the bed up, ready for your turn lol :-D
How is your OH today Ann, hope he's okay after what happened last night. Enjoy your time away and have a safe journey.

Oh sorry to see your mum is back in hospital, but really it is best she is there till they know what's wrong now. You just don't seem destined to have a quiet time yet do you and it must be very tiring for you with the running about as Jane says.
Oh Jane, you'll just get your week in Yorkshire in before your pre op which is lucky! It will be so good to get rid of the pain won't it and you and Fitz will be able to compare notes!! I'm just about ready for the off now, but my knees and back have had enough. I didn't manage to hoover any more so OH hoovered the lounge just to look presentable and has cleaned his car windscreen. At least I won't be looking through a load of smears and blobs now. He said the carwash had a huge queue otherwise he'd have called in.
Yes, I was wondering if Anne was ok too. She hasn't been on Dermot's thread either since about the 6th May.

Oh Gill, I am sorry to see Mum is back in Hospital . I agree with you and hope she is kept in now until they know exactly what is going on. You have had a right running around today and then having to take Mums friend home too. Good idea not to worry your Sister while she is at the wedding. Like you said there is nothing she can do at the moment and she would be worrying. I hope she enjoyed her role as Chief Bridesmaid :-D
It is getting really windy here again and I wouldnt be suprised if we get a bit of rain. Its pretty chilly too today.I have got a sweatshirt on .It is a nice one I got in M&S not very long ago but I have already got bleach and grease stains on it :-S :-S.So I cant wear it out anywhere now. I must put some wine in the fridge to chill .Not just for me you realise :-D Gareth loves a glass or 2 or 3 :-D :-D
FRank have you got all your meds ready to take away ? I just remembered today to order my Gabapentin as that is one I cannot just suddenly stop .
