It warm in the sun here but that very chilly breeze has come up now.
I am going out in the garden for a while and get lost in something out there I think. I might be in the shed if it is cold. The suns been shining all day here.
Had the usual two eggs this morning and NONE broken so it was the bowls putting them off and as they could see the other nest. O I don't know it just seems strange that now I have divided the nest they arn't breaking them. I asked oh to put a divider in for me but got no response other than "you'll be sorry!"

Vera, how nice for your OH and neighbour have one for lunchtime pint. It was something I always did, but now I just can't be bothered. Dinner sounds great. We don't eat till 5.00ish. Then I don't need anything to eat until tomorrow. Ros might have a late supper after I go to bed for a read.
Looks down right miserable outside, so I am going to get my book and have a read. I might open a couple of bottles of beer. Won't be the same as going to the pub,but I will make do. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Weather-wise it’s been a miserable couple of days. Yesterday was really cold with lots of heavy rain showers, a couple of hail storms and some sleet. The ice from the hail and sleet just lay on the pots in the garden so I was glad I had covered up some of the more tender plants. It looks as though it is going to pour again at any minute.
Snap Frank - I’ve got roast loin of pork today as well. OH has gone out for a lunchtime pint with our neighbour and, as neighbour is a bit down at the moment, we’ve asked him to come back with OH for dinner. I hope he likes pork. I’ve got roast potatoes, Jersey Royals, casseroled red cabbage, broccoli and carrots so there should be something he likes on the table.
I’ll pm you with my email address Frank.
I know what you mean about tracing Smiths Gill. My grandmother was a Smith but she died very young and left my grandfather with four children. Her mother, my great grandmother, was around till I was about 23 but at that stage I wasn’t in to family history so never asked any questions. It took a lot of effort to sort out my Smiths from all the millions of other Smiths around.
Right, I had better go and get my roasties in the oven. Have a nice Sunday everyone.

Good afternoon all. We stayed in Saundersfoot last year Frank and loved it, a really unspoilt seaside town. We also stayed in Carmarthan and liked it there too. We have stayed in North Wales in the past at Carnarvon and also near Port Meiron. Plus we have had several other holidays in south wales. Incidentally OH's Mother was born and grew up in Merthyr Tydfil but moved to Devon when she was 18/19.
Weather here is warmer than yesterday and dry with no frost this morning.
The to do list is going OK so far . This morning we decided to go out for coffee as, if we are at home we inevitably get side tracked and don't get to organise things together. so we had coffee in the Range, took a notebook and the main list and sorted out what to do and when in the garden. It looks as if we will manage to get things done ok with no problem. We will plant things out as we usually do this time of year and hope we are sheltered enough from late frosts.
On the way home we called in to our local garden centre and bought a couple more plants to fill in some gaps, tomato feed and slug bait (apologies if you are organic gardeners but the slugs and snails are not going to get my hostas).
so now the week is mapped out the only low spot being the dentist appointment on tuesday morning.
And OH has said we don't have a need to be away early Saturday as we are going at our own pace across country.

Afternoon all,
Nothing sort of day here again. Very overcast with a slight breeze. When I went to get some fresh mint for the potatoes, the sun felt warm on my back, but that has disappeared now.
I have had holidays in both North and South Wales. Anglesea was where we took the fishing club for our once a year trip. Monk Fish, Dog Fish (Rock Salmon as they call it) was the main quarry, we did stay for a long weekend one year with 10 of us in a mini-bus. I took my Ex and children to Sauderfoot, Tenby three or four times. Pendine sands, was a great beech, SEVEN MILES LONG, where Donald Cambell attempted the land speed record. I use to let the children sit on my lap and steer the car along the beech. They loved it. In North Wales we stayed in a lovely B & B close to Harlech Castle, again the beeches were very good. That is close to Betsy Cowie (SP) I could never spell that word. lol lol
Nice to see Jane keeping an eye on us. ;-) ;-) ;-) Keep well my love, and I hope everything goes well for Hannah next week, I will be thinking her. <3 <3 <3
No plans for today, we might pop to the village hall and see the ART EXHIBITION all paintings are by local artists, of which there are many. The village has an ART CLUB that meet Twice a week. I have thought of joining, but being COLOUR BLIND, I would hate to see what colours I would use for bushes, trees, clouds etc. WHO KNOWS I might paint a MASTER PIECE. lol lol.
Conrad is back from Spain until Tuesday, when he will go back to Spain and take Jan with him. She will be back before we go on the 21st, as it's Alexanders 4th Birthday on the 24th, and there's no way she will miss that. I expect she will come back out to Spain a few days later.
Nothing to look forward to weather wise tomorrow, rain and winds forecast. I have asked Ros if there is anything she would like to do/go. But as yet I have to reply. We will decide tomorrow when we see what the weather is like.
Have a goody girls, see you later. xxxx

Morning Mel and all
Dull here today and still very cold, there is a lot of cloud around, so thankfully no morning frost, I was worried my plants might be effected by all this cold weather, but so far they seem to be okay.
I see you had a good nights sleep Mel, that'll set you up for the day. I've nothing planned for today either, just about to have a bath then I might take another look at OH's tree, I managed to fill in lots of dates off the tree match yesterday so that was good and I also found out one of his rellies married again in Barbados and had two more children with her, it was nice to see the tree as it confirmed all my findings were right.
Yes, salt air can do so much damage Ann, it's one think you don't think about when you see the lovely view. That's what sold the house to us. I remember when we first moved to the Bay and took our car for it's MOT, the fella in the garage said our car was in really good condition, 2 years later when we left to move here it was wrecked and we had to buy a new car, so the salt can really ruin things in such a short time, which is why I wouldn't live to close to the sea again and would prefer to live in the country instead.

Don't know what I am going to do today. If the wind has dropped I may go in the garden if it has'nt I shall do something inside.
Hope you all slept well last night. I did as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.

A house at Colwyn Bay with a sea view sounds great Gill, but I see your point about no bus and a steep walk!! Also about the salty air not being good for cars. Yes, I expect there will be a lot of baby animals for Sandra to photograph at the zoo so she will love that.
AnninG I meant to say all the walking you did must have helped if you only put half a pound on!! :-0 Even being careful I usually put 2 on!! lol.
Yes, we are all thinking of you all Jane, just don't want to overwhelm you with contact just now as I realise you must be preparing yourselves for next week.

Hello Jane, just noticed your post, it's nice to see you on here. I've been thinking about you and was hoping you were alright. <3 I think a bit of time just you and Chris will be good for you both.
We had a bit of hail to last night, but it didn't last long, it's still very cold even though the suns out, I think we might have some ground frost tonight. We even had the heating on before which we've never had to do in May. Hope it warms up soon as Sandra is waiting to go to Chester Zoo, it poured down on the day we wanted to take her for her birthday treat, so hopefully we'll be able to take her soon.

What a shame Ann you couldn't take any pictures of the little ducklings, you might strike lucky though, you never know. I see you've been to a number of lovely places over the years. We used to live in Colwyn Bay with a view of the sea, it was lovely, unfortunately we lived at the top of a very big hill and the bus route had been stopped just before we moved in. One of the reasons we bought the place, apart from the view, was because of the bus route as OH was working then so I thought it would be easier to go shopping, but of course I couldn't use the bus. I tried walking once but it was far to steep, so I never tried again. It's much better now living on flat ground, but I do miss the view. When we buy our forever house I'd like to live in the countryside, as the salt from the sea ruined the car and didn't do the property much good either.
You've been to some nice places to AnnG. OH and I went to Cornwall once and had a lovely time, it was when the eclipse was on in 1999 and we stood on the beach and watched it on a TV screen. Unfortunately the clouds were around but luckily the BBC were filming the eclipse on the same beach. The experience was brilliant even though we couldn't see the full eclipse and we thoroughly enjoyed our time away.
I've just been given access to a tree on Genes that matches OH's family, so I'm going to take a look at it now.

We go a week on Saturday AnnG and yes it is to where we go year after year in Cornwall! This is where we stay.
https://www.snaptrip.com/properties/united-kingdom/england/cornwall/wendron/porkellis/exquisite-carnmenellis-lodge-s56001
I have never been to either of the places you will be going to, but we did go to Anglesey a couple of times a few years ago and loved it there. We stayed at Aberfraww which has a beautiful beach. I see you will be up on the north coast. I remember being amazed at the Copper Mountain. If you haven't been it is an interesting walk up the trails. You mention South Wales and I have stayed on the Gower Peninsular several times and love it there. I first went there on a pony trekking holiday with a friend when I was aged 17.
I just called in the next village to see if the duck with the 12 ducklings that I saw yesterday was still around the brook so I could get a photo, but there was no sign of them. There were some ducks sunbathing on the banks but no ducklings. The brook winds it's way all through the centre of the village, goes under the road in tunnels in 3 places so they could have been anywhere. I bet by the time I see them there will only be a few ducklings left!! :-(
I better plough through a bit more paperwork now. OH is at a match in the Peak District so I have a few hours to get on in peace and quiet.

It sounds like you've done really well with your OH's tree Ann. You're right once you have a lead you just keep going. I've not done much today but I suppose every little bit helps. I've just found two children for a couple but thought that wasn't many considering they married in 1924, I've always thought couple had bigger families back then. I'm not complaining though as it's less work for me to do. I tried a variation on their surname spellings just to check properly and the original two were the only once to come up on the search, so now I'm going to look for their spouses and children.
That's a good idea to copy and paste the names of the meds you need Mel, the last thing you want is to mis-spell something and end up with the wrong meds. Pleased to see you have enough eggs for Em.
That's a lot of money for Ros's teeth, good job you had a look around, you found a much better price for her now Frank. Fancy leaving all the windows open, no wonder you were freezing. I bet you were glad to be home after travelling in all that bad rain. Although the sun is out today it's really cold out there and with having hardly any clouds around I should imagine there will be some frost tonight. They did say we were having an arctic wind blowing in and boy were they right, the wind is picking up and so so cold right now.
I've passed on your message to Sandra about how neat her handwriting was and she said to say thank you AnnG <3

It's a blustery afternoon here, with rain showers. Ros has decided not to go to the open village. I don't blame her, with this wind being so chilly. She was a long time having her nails done, due the the fact that the woman before her was late coming for her appointment. I was beginning get concerned as she was gone for over TWO HOURS.
I have been reading my book, and just put on the T.V. to see what was on, and blow me, there was SPURS V BOURNEMOUTH. I caught the 2nd half. Two Spurs player got sent off for bad tackles, and it turned into a bit of kick and run. The Ref was booking players all the time, so not very enjoyable. Bournemouth won 1-0 in stoppage time.
We have had some nice crusty rolls for lunch, with fresh Ham that Ros bought this morning. Very nice too.
Roast loin of pork tomorrow, I will do the veg etc, either later this evening, or tomorrow. I do like to have Sunday free if possible, then I can sit and read the paper without interruptions. SOME HOPE. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I see more plants have arrived down the drive, I will have to put a ban on them before long. lol lol
We didn't have a vote in this area, I don't know why.

Afternoon all. Annx when do you go away? Is it this time you are going to Cornwall?
No we have never been to either Criccieth or Cemaes so we are looking forward to it. Have been to North Wlaes and Anglesy briefly many years ago but latterly have just been to South Wales as from here it is more convenient.
Frank we got to know the owners of the cottage well because the first few years OH used to play golf with them both when they were members of the local club.
Gill I forgot to say to Sandra how neat her letter is if I hand wrote a letter you would have trouble reading it. computers make you lazy with handwriting.
Well today we have done the weekly shop to get food in, done a load of washing and drying, OH has cut the lawn and tidied the jungle up, he also changed four light switches because our others were really dirty and old fashioned. I have done some admin and am about to do the monthly house accounts. My to do list has quite a few ticks on it which is always good to see.
And I was very pleased to note I only put on half a pound while we were away!!! :-D :-D

Afternoon All,
Sunny with a cold breeze here now.
Mel, that sounds a better system for you with your prescriptions. Hopefully there won't be any glitches now. Ours are fussy about ordering in advance but you need to when you are away and also to allow for when they don't have everything and you have to go back. We usually have to go back for something with our pharmacy as well. Now they just need to get you a surgery that is closer! :-|
Gill, I have been working on my OH's tree this past week following contact from a DNA match for OH. I got an email from him this morning thanking me for my 'great work' in solving two mysteries. He is passing the info on to two people he knows with ancestry trees so they can correct them. He is a Co-ordinator for several DNA groups and he and OH share gt gt grandparents on his father's side. I bet you are the same, but once I advance a bit with FH, I want to keep going till I get stuck again!! I think I will be doing some more later today or tomorrow. It's nice you are getting the birds back in your garden now all the noise and disturbance has stopped. I bet Sandra keeps looking out for them again now. I have never seen Red Robin flowers and our small, related Tiny Robin has never flowered yet.
We did our bit with voting yesterday and it came out ok for our area so that was good! Not a soul in there when we went though so it must get very boring for them just sitting there.
AnnG, you will just have time to get washing and ironing done, weed the garden and be off again then!! Is the next trip to somewhere you haven't stayed before? OH got our cases down this morning so I can start packing as I like to get the basic stuff packed early on.
Vera I hope you slept better last night. I woke up at 4.00am and couldn't get off again, yet I've slept better lately.
Good your back is improving Frank, but do be careful not to do anything to aggravate it. I would like to have implants when I need them, but can't, so Ros is lucky to have the option. The younger generations are lucky to have had things like flouride toothpaste and I expect most of them will keep their teeth longer than us.

Morning Frank and Gill and All,
We have sunshine and deep blue sky with big white clouds in it this morning and they are travelling north west.
I have enough eggs to deliver this morning to Em next door and then go and pick my paper up at the shop.
In future I have to order my scripts online and can pick them up from the shop up the road. They are delivered there twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday. The only thing is I have to list everything by name for myself and oh so I have saved the email so I can copy and paste it. Some of the names of the drugs are really weird and I don't want to get the spellings wrong.

My oh my, haven't you all been busy chatting.
GOOD MORNING TO YOU ALL,
Welcome home AnnG, glad you had a lovely time. Yes it is nice if you find a nice place to stay year in and year out. Plus of course the people you stay with know you as well. We my EX, my Sister and her husband use to go to POTTER HIGHAM on the Norfolk Broards, and always stayed at the same B & B. The owner would always have a good supply of worms ready for our fishing days out.
Will someone be kind enough to send the doggie photo's to VERA. She has asked for them, and I don't have her eMail
Ros has her two front teeth at the top, working loose. She can't have a bridge, snd WON'T have a DENTURE. The only option is implants, and the dentist has quoted £2,500.00 EACH. So of course I am looking around the WEB. I have found one in Milton Keynes. That do them for £32.00 per implant per month. How long over I do not know yet, and which tooth that covers I don't know either. I will leave it to Ros to find out. IT's HER TEETH. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Boy oh Boy, did we have some rain last night. I took Ros out for a bite to eat, and it rained the whole time we were out, and continued when we got home. The traffic everywhere was snarled up, and backed up for MILES. The road into the village was jamed packed, for THREE MILES. That was I expect from traffic trying to get away from the build up on the A 45 and M1. Would you believe the restaurant had all the windows open, it was like an ICE BOX. I asked for them to be closed, why on earth they were open with it being so cold, and wet, I just don't know. :-| :-| :-| :-|
The girls, Carolyn and Ros have gone to Tesco for some bits and pieces. Then Ros has her nail appointment at Midday. Then they are going to Alderton a village not to far away, for it's open day. So I won't see much of Madam today. I don't think my back will let me walk to the pub/club, it's still giving me bit of jip. !!! So I will just rest and read my book.
Mel you have the patients of JOB, with all this fluffing about with your medication. They must try to get a better supply chain worked out. As everyone is saying. WHAT IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE. ??
Gill, it would appear that the NEW Neighbours are moving in, if they are having carpets laid. Why would they if they aren't ??
Thinking of our Jane with <3 <3 <3 <3. I do hope she managed a good night sleep.
Going to sort out some toast and My Mate. and a coffee. Have a great day all and stay dry. if you can !!!

Morning all
Bright and sunny today but not very warm, the little coal tit is back taking food so we assume he's feeding babies. The Starlings are on the feeder to, so it's nice to see all the birds back after not seeing many over the last six months with the workmen being around and it being so noisy.
I thought I'd finished the first section of OH's tree but when I check through it last night I've missed a few people so I'm going to see if I can complete them today then move onto the next sibling. OH is really pleased with all the work I'm doing for him and I've managed to find a few of them on social media so he can actually see what they look like.
He's so excited at my findings, he thought it was only his close family who had survived. Going all the way back only one child survived (OH's family line) which is why he thought there was only those people, but then we forgot about a Will I was given by his late uncle, so when going back to the early 1800's there were a number of other people on a different line, which are the ones I'm doing for him now.
I'm really enjoying it, although I've just had to do a pile of "Smith's" which wasn't so enjoyable, they were completed last night, so hopefully the rest won't take me so long to do. So that's my day planned, sorting the rest out.
What's everyone else up to today?
