A really long day out yesterday visiting grandson, who is working in Hampshire. His mum, my daughter drove and we didn't get back here until 2.15 am, so I'm a bit tired, but must send congratulations to Jane and her family.
What wonderful news!
I hope all continues to go well for Hannah.
My grandson has always called me Granmum.... I quite like that.
Daughters and I often go to a quiz locally, but realising we are not good on the History of royalty, I bought a pencil yesterday, when we called in at an English Heritage castle. The pencil shows monarchs since 1066, but now we realise there is no William the second shown, so I'm going to have to rely on Google to check my facts. Still not likely to do well in the history round then .............................
Might have to wait until I've had more than 3 and a half hours sleep if I hope to retain information though.

Good morning all, off out to Berkely Castle later with a U3A group, weather unpredictable, showers forecast so raincoats will be worn!!
If anyone wants to see the results after the fire at Notre Dame here is a good site

Oh what wonderful news Jane.
<3 <3 <3 CONGRATULATIONS TO HANNAH AND GARETH <3 <3 <3
Thanks Mel for all your help on OH's tree, he's asked me to say a big thank you to you.
Off to bed now as we have to be up again in less than six hours as the workmen will be here at 7am and we'd like our morning cuppa before keeping an eye on them.
I'll catch up properly with the post tomorrow.

How lovely for you and Chris too Jane. I always think Nanny is nicer than gran or grandma. I always called my nans nanny and so did my son but my nan to my son was gt gran.
I am now going to predict she has a boy. So I shall now have to wait to see if I am right untill October.

It makes you wonder how sensible it is to keep the originals of works of art in buildings that can be so vulnerable to fire. Mind you they could hardly remove the beautiful stained windows and beautiful buildings themselves still perish. Can't there be some better way of preventing a fire in them? I didn't see but just hope there was no-one inside.
That was quite a night of dreams Jane! Lol. Sometimes I find I wake up after a dream, fall asleep again, then seem to carry on in the same dream!

So, so sad isn’t it? That beautiful building. I wonder if they have managed to save any paintings and statues. Devastating for the people of Paris.

LOL Grandma does sound old fashioned doesn't it Ann. I could be Moo,Mooma,Mumra (these are the names my two call me)
I was in tears just now seeing Notre Dame in flames. We always go there each time we stay in Paris .It is just so terribly sad . :-( The beautiful stained glass windows etc all gone.

Evening All,
Congratulations to H & G Jane. :-D <3 It must be reassuring to know all is well at this stage. I must say I think they should modernise the word 'Grandma' though......it sounds so old!!! lol.
More BREAKING NEWS Notre Dame is on fire!!! It looks bad too.
Frank, the others are right about you needing testosterone in some form. I know women can have the patches so that may be a good way for you. Two carveries we go to are really good, One is at a pub and recognised as one of the best in the area, the other is at a Great Western Plus Hotel and Golf Club. Sadly, most restaurants only seem to do carveries on Sundays.
Gill, It's good your OH has managed to get the fence more secure for now. Surely your neighbour would have got a written quote that would have shown if the drive was included in the work? I would think it will be quite an extra expense for them to find. It's been bad news all along for both them and you with what's happened hasn't it.
More HW here today and we both did a short stint in the garden with rests and COTs in between. :-D
OH's car goes in for it's MOT and service in the morning so that will be an early start for us, but at least now the children are off school there shouldn't be as much traffic.
Fleur did a little bark today as we went out as she wanted to come to me. OH said she went straight past him to get to me first! She's on her first heat now so only goes up and down the close. They are having her speyed next. Apparently she enjoys Countryfile and looks for the animals behind the tv. :-)

Ah she is lucky I had morning sickness for three months with our daughter but none with our son. Daughter was sickly all the day for quite a few months with all three. Eldest grandson’s wife had the same as Duchesse of Cambridge with her first and was sick for several months with the second but not as bad as the first It is a shame as it spoils the occasion so it is good that Hannah is ok.

:-D :-D AnnG and Vera. I dont think I shall be knitting . My knitting has been known to have more holes than knit :-S :-S. Plus I think these days (from what I have seen ) young new parents tend to go with bought clothes rather than hand knitted.I must say that there are such lovely things in the shops these days and 'modern' . Plus easily washed in the machine. No AnnG no morning sickness .Just a little queasy at times (that has passed ) but tiredness has been the big thing. But the first 3 months are always bad for that. I too never had any morning sickness. So she has been lucky. She keeps herself fit and goes to the Gym . No Prosseco though (which she misses ). They have booked a weeks holiday in the South of France in June . That will be the last for a while I reckon :-D

NEWS FLASH NEWS FLASH BREAKING NEWS :-D :-D :-D :-D
YES I AM GOING TO BE A GRANDMA :-D :-D I have been so desperate to tell you all but Hannah wanted to wait until she had had her scan. She had it done this morning and sent me a pic of it.She said it took half an hour to get all the measurements etc done as the baby was a right wriggler LOL So the due date is October14/15th.Her next big scan is in 6 weeks time when she will be 20weeks .At the moment they think they don't want to know if it is a girl or a boy. It is all so exciting :-D :-D Hannah said Gareth felt a bit sick for the scan as he was so nervous .Ahhh!
Gill I am sorry your fence has been so badly damaged, and the Boss seems to have done runner !!. So more expense for your neighbour if he is having to pay for the drive. He is going to be well out of pocket, what with the fire and now the drive.
Mel ,was there any damage from your 'tornado '? Hopefully not. It has been quite breezy here and the wind is really quite cold ,but a nice sunny day.
Frank,I do hope that there is another way of getting Testosterone other than by injection .Thinking back to before you started the injections I remember how you had really bad outbursts of anger and Ros once had to shut you in the conservatory as you frightened her. But since you have had the injections from what you have said you are not like this any longer. So they must be doing something for you.
I better get the washing in now and then put the toilet and bath mats out . I see it is going to be about 22degs on Sunday. Scorcher
:-D

Same here Mel, there seems to be two names for Mary but only one male name. I've plumbed for her middle name being Ann for now, I can always change it at a later date if needs be. Thanks for looking for me.
OH has just taken the screw out of the broken wood and replaced it with a longer one he think's he needs an even longer one to close the gab of the broken wood but for now it's keeping it in place as the wind has really got up and we don't want it blowing around making further damage. The workmen who are there now said they would put in a new piece of wood, whether they will or not we'll have to wait and see. Poor OH is still out there keeping an eye on them and they said they would be here at 7am in the morning so an early start for us as we don't trust them to be left alone anymore.
I've noticed I've got some PM's so I'll go and check them now.

Still blowing like ballyhoo here, (I don't know if that word or not) but it enough to blow your he'd off. Ros would insist on finishing a bit of the bottom border, I have just called her in.
I had a whole dressed crab in a sandwich with a coffee just before 12.00 pm. That should last me till tonight. lol lol.
Yes, I will ask the Doctor if there is some other way to have this Testosterone. The muscle in my right thigh, feels very sore and bruised, even though there is nothing to see from outside. If the injection is suppose to give me more energy, THAT isn't working ;-) ;-) ;-) I don't feel I have the energy to do anything at the moment. Having a shower and shave seems to have worn me out.
Gill, Those workmen seem to belong in a CIRCUS ACT. They can't be trusted to do anything without doing DAMAGE. If push comes to shove. get your Solicitor to write to the builder regarding repair and compensation. Otherwise they will just disappear leaving you with the cost of repairing their damage.
I hope the hurricane has't left any permanent damage Mel, We are coming your way on Thursday, so hope the weather improves.
Ros is in now, so I will go and have another hot drink with her, and watch the news at 1.3o.

Thanks Mel
I agree with Mel Frank you should keep up with it even if it's done in a different way to injections, have a word with your doctor and see what he/she says.
Hope there isn't to much damage Mel and the wind dies down soon for you.
Well, I've just been out and took a look at the fence and they have really broken it this time, the end bit of wood is broken in two, they said they will replace it but it's flapping around in the wind so it could completely come off. I've got a banging headache with all the noise, they're now digging around our fence at the back even though we've told them to be careful, so no doubt that'll come loose next and it's the fence with all the screening on that took us ages to do with the water feature right by it. I'm so stressed at the moment.
If it wasn't for Mel helping me with my family tree I think I'd be more stressed, doing the tree is helping to take my mind off the workmen. Thanks again Mel, you are a star <3 <3
