Mel, I know it's a pain in the backside, but all we can do is complain. I don't understand why it's only looks like ours is affected. Do you think that over 3,100 pages is the trouble. ??

Ros had four dozen plug plants turn up this morning from QVC. I have been down the greenhouse and filled four dozen small pots with potting compost, and she has planted the lot. I just called her to come inand she is filling her pots ready for her tomato plants when the seeds come through, talk about getting ahead of yourself.

Tonight's dinner will be Pork Chops, Jacket potato, with cheese, sweetcorn or baked beans.

I am promising myself, that I will get to the club tonight, to see the lads, and watch England play their match. I just hope I feel up to it when the time comes.

Last night wasn't a good one. Ros came in just as I was going to bed to read. One and a half hours later, I came back into the lounge, having not been able to sleep. I fancied a bit of French Stick with Cheese. So went into the kitchen and got some, as soon as Ros saw it, she decided she would have some. So there we sat chomping on French Stick and cheese, and me with a beer. In fact Ros went to bed before me, I crept in quietly and didn't disturb her. At 4.00 am I was awake again, and laid until 6.00. Got up had my COT and sat and read.

I am now ready for a few zzzz, but will try not to, then I might sleep better tonight, especially with a pint or three down my neck. lol lol

How's your mouth feeling this afternoon Gill. ?? I hope it's less painful, and the Antibiotics are doing their job. When are you going back to the dentist for your check up. ???

I will make Ros a COT and give her another call. She just might come in then.

See you later.

Althought the error message is a pain I find I get back on very quickly if I click on the Genes Reunited writing at the top of the error message. This takes me back to the homepage and clicking on communities takes me back to the chat board.

Good morning to you all,

I have just spent a fair time going through all your postings, you have been busy chatting. ;-) ;-)

The date for Lara's wedding is the 6th JUNE 2020 Trust me, I didn't have my glass's on when I opened the envelope. So plenty of time to arrange things.

Anne I didn't know you were older than me. !!!

Had a phone call this morning asking if I had received the appointment for my "HEARING TEST" I soon put him in his place by saying, I'm as deaf as a post and a hearing test would be no good to me. He soon got off the line. Where do these people get our information from. ?? Eos also had a call from the "FITNESS" chap at the heart dept. at the hospital, wanting to arrange Exercises for her to do. She said with her back problems there was no way she could do anything. When she was at the hospital yesterday, they found she has "ANGINA" The doctor put her on tablets, which she had to get from the Pharmacy at the hospital, plus she had an ECG and blood tests. In total she was there for over 5 hours. he came home absolutely SHATTERED. Carolyn also, as she went and waited for ages, to get the prescription.
I didn't want her to go the the choir last night, but she takes two other women, and she would be letting them down.

No I didn't try putting the glass in the greenhouse. I didn't trust myself not to have broken any of the glass. So, it's either Harvey or Jonathan who will have the job. !!

On the odd occasion I go into Tesco with Ros. If I see children playing up, I give them a FRANK LOOK and for some unknown reason, they look down at the floor, and scurry off to hid behind the Mother. lol lol LITTLE DARLINGS <3 <3 <3.

Mandy I would think you are well CHEESED OFF doing all this work, and the sale falling through. !! Lets hope she finds another buyer soon.

How did Chris and Fitz get on at the Council Meeting Jane ?? I can just imagine how you and your neighbours must feel, about the road closure, for all that time. WHY ??

So the girls are now sorted Mel. What's the next project for OH ?? He is a "GLUTTON for WORK" isn't he.

The hoover is out in the lounge, so I had better get out of the way, as she will be down here soon. I'm all showered and shaved. Had the most delicious SAUSAGE SARNIE for breakfast. Ros called at a proper butchers yesterday and bought a beef joint for Sunday, and some Lincolnshire (Home made) sausages. They were so lovely. I will have some more tomorrow morning. There is no excess fat in them, and don't spit, like Supermarket ones do. !!

I am really sick and tired of this ERROR PAGE.

All I want to do is talk to my friends and every single time I get Error Page.

Morning all,

Slept like a log last night and got up once for the loo so good night all round. Hope you all had a good sleep last night.

Hows the tooth this morning Gill? I hope its a lot better, keep taking the tablets.

Gillx

Gillx Report 22 Mar 2019 10:51

Yes, that might be a better approach to Sandra about he dentist AnnG. I've just tried to eat something that's a bit harder than eggs and yogurts so my tooth is a bit sore now, but I'm starting to feel much better now I'm eating more, so will live with the discomfort of the niggle in my tooth as the food is doing me good. The antibiotics are working and I'm no where near in as much pain now, so that's good I also don't feel hungry all the time either.
What a good idea to take a tool to photograph with it being tools of the trade. Have a great time this afternoon.

OH is registered at the same dentist I registered at yesterday Ann. He had to go to the emergency dentist, which happened to be the one at the end of the road, when he had a broken tooth a few months ago, he told me it was all women there, which also helped me to pluck up the courage to go. When I rang the emergency dentist number I asked if I could go to that dentist. It was a male dentist who frightened me as a child so seeing a woman really helped and she was lovely. I don't even mind going back for a proper check up once I'm over this problem, although I'm still a bit nervous of what she may say needs doing, if anything. I'm sure Sandra will be registered there at some point, she just needs a bit of time, like me, to get her head around the idea. The last thing I want to do is mention it to much right now as that would frightened her and probably do more harm than good. She's a lot like me so I know how she feels, gentle persuasion is probably the best way to go with her, I think.
Enjoy your beading, what are you making today? Hopefully you'll be back on here later when your OH's laptop is sorted, I hope it's nothing to serious and it's sorted soon.

Good morning all. OH has gone to golf, should be less tiring today as they can use trolleys again now.

Glad you enjoyed the photos on the blog Gill. If anyone else has not got the address please do ask and I will PM it to you.

Gill maybe turn around what you said about Sandra, don't ignore the pain you have been in, remind her of it and point out that is what happens when you don't see a dentist before it takes hold.

Annx Hope OH's PC problem is not too serious and that you can get back on soon. Enjoy beading. We have photography group this afternoon. We have to take a tool of some sort as this month it is 'tools of the trade' and for a change we are taking photos in the hall where we meet under supervision of our 'leader'.

Annx Report 22 Mar 2019 08:59

Morning All,

I might not be on the thread again today as OH's laptop is using 'my' socket while being repaired 'remotely' and it's more awkward to use mine elsewhere.

Welcome to Vera, it's nice to see a few new people. I too watched Vera Anne!

Well done for getting to a dentist Gill and I hope your tooth has started to be less painful after some antibiotics. I always think about how I will be walking out of the dentist soon when I am in the chair and it seems to help! It would be a good idea to sign Sandra up as well as Mel suggests, maybe hubby as well. Going regularly means some things get picked up and sorted before you get toothache. I was never taken to the dentist as a child but started going myself at age 15 and have gone regularly ever since. Like Mel I have bone loss and can't have teeth that they screw in. Strangely several dentists have commented that I don't seem to get any tartar on my teeth so I haven't been asked to see a hygienist for years.

Mandy it sounds like you have done a lot of work to clear the bungalow but there is more to be done. We found the house clearance man a blessing when we did FIL's house. He charged us £350 after deducting what he would get for selling the white goods and there were still 2 truck loads for the tip and a van full for the charity shop and for him to sell as well. That was after we had made trip after trip to charity shops and the tip ourselves. We said afterwards we should have let him do the lot instead of wear ourselves out. You still have to go through everything first though to see what needs to be kept and it isn't a pleasant task so I expect you will be glad when it's all done now. It's a shame the bungalow sale fell through.

Better get showered now ready for the beading get together. Will hopefully be back later to read the rest of the posts, if OH's laptop is repaired by then!

Gillx Report 22 Mar 2019 08:37

Morning all

Cloudy here today but so far no rain. The lawns look lovely now OH has cut them and sorted out the edges. We have lots of birds around at the moment so that's nice to see. I had a better nights sleep last night and the antibiotics are doing their job so I feel much better today.

As we were leaving the dentist yesterday Mel I asked Sandra if she'd like me to register her but she said a firm no and walked out. She's actually worse than me and will just about let the dentist look in her mouth, but nothing else. So I thought it best to leave it for now with her seeing how much pain I've been in all week and talk to her about it again when it's not so fresh in her mind. Yes, it's much better now the skip has been emptied, OH put a couple of our plants in there as they had died and it now saves him a trip to the tip........cheeky or what lol.

What a shame the sale fell through Mandy. If the plans have been passed could they be used to encourage someone else to buy the property? It might be a good selling point as planning can take a while to go through. Even if the next people need to adjust the plans it shouldn't take as long as submitting fresh ones. Maybe it might be worth asking a solicitor or the council. Just a thought, but it can't do any harm to ask can it and it might help sell the property more quickly next time. So there's still a bit more left to do, it sounds like a lot of stuff has been or is being taken out if a container is needed. Shame about the dishwasher, but at least Colin had some tools so it wasn't all bad.

Yes, we often send pictures via email Vera, so if you want to sent us your email address we'd love to include you as well. Having said that I'm still trying to work out how to get my photo's onto my laptop, but when I finally work it out I'll be able to send some to you to if you'd like? I'm glad you and Ann and Gwyn have joined us all. I just wish the error page would go away, then it'd be perfect :-) :-)

I'm going to use the link you put on here Mel when I've sent this post and report the error page as it's getting silly now, it's been going on for most of the week and I can't get onto any other pages apart from the first and last one using the post date bit at the top of the page. Let's hope Genes does something about it soon then we can see everyone's posts. I feel quite rude if I don't say anything about someone's post, just because I couldn't see it.

I've just taken a look at your blog AnnG, what wonderful pictures of all those beautiful plants, I wish we had somewhere like that by us to visit, you're very lucky.

Good evening all

I just did a long post and before I could press submit it had disappeared :-|. I’ll have another go.

Thank you for the nice welcome.

That was a brave step you took Gill. Well done. Once the antibiotics take hold you will feel much better.

Jane, that was a good price for your glasses. I am wary of using Specsavers as my normal prescription is quite complex. They seem to have mixed reviews. I suppose it depends on how good the people are at the various local branches. I’ve just had new glasses too and have to have prescription sunglasses as well. I go to Boots and even with a 25% over 60s discount and a half price deal on the sunglasses I still had to pay nearly £750, though the bulk of that was for my lenses.

Mel, I live in the Sudbury area. We used to live in a little hamlet a few miles away but with no public transport or shop, having to drive to get anywhere and not getting any younger we decided to move nearer town about 5 years ago. I am glad we did as I had to give up driving at night a couple of years ago. I don’t know when you were last in Sudbury but there have been so many housing developments, some of them quite large, but no improvements to the infrastructure so the town centre is frequently clogged up with traffic.

Thank you for the potted biography Frank. I have been married to Bob for 56 years this month - I was a child bride of course :-D. We have a daughter and a son, both in their fifties, 5 grandchildren and 2 step grandsons. They range in age from 12 to 27.

Ann I laughed at you giving the children a stern look. My two still call that face “Mum’s We Are Not Amused look”, only nowadays it just makes them laugh.

I already know Gill, Jane and AnninGlos from other threads but I am looking forward to making friends with everyone else
