Gill you should take Paracetamol. When I had to have teeth out oh told me to take a couple before I went to the dentists and it helped a lot. Don't leave this getit done because it can cause problems like I have had with tooth loss and recedeing gums. I can't have any teeth screwed in because my jaw bone won't take it because of bone loss too. All due to not going to the dentists earlier. SO GO AND BE A GOOD GIRL. They don't hurt you like they used to now and my one will always ask if I can feel anything when giving me an injection and give a bit more if needed.

I wish someone would come and empty the skip next door to us Frank, your neighbour was lucky the any old iron man took stuff out, we have people putting stuff in, including a bench which is now up again the hedge on the grass so it doesn't blow onto our car. Most nights after the workmen have gone OH has to go and check nothing is going to come over to our side, it's becoming quite a routine for him now lol. It's supposed to be being emptied today, but so far it hasn't, just more stuff piled on top, it's now almost 3 foot above the level it's suppose to be.......happy days ;-) ;-) At least the sun's still out which is very cheerful. Five and a half hours was a long journey for poor Conrad, he must of been very tired at the end of it. Sorry to hear Jan has got shingles I hope it clears soon for her.
Your trip to Hidcote sounded lovely AnnG, all those lovely flowers, it must of been so colourful and cheery. I love the spring, it's my favourite season of the year. The poor learner driver, it sounds like it might of been his first time out on the road. OH sometimes says things when he's behind one, but like I said we all had to learn and I'm sure people said the same thing about us when we were learning. I feel sorry for them, I can remember how embarrassing it can be. When OH was teaching me to drive we went onto a car park in the evenings when it was quiet until I got used to the car, but I still stalled it a few times on the roads at first though. I was also quite heavy on the brakes, so OH told me to squeeze the brakes like an orange rather than stomping on them, I'll never forget him saying that and always think of squeezing the juice out of an orange now, when he presses the brakes. :-)
Yes, I agree with you Jane it would be nice if Michelle's boyfriend could just drop her off to visit her family every now and then, but to be honest I think it's Michelle rather than him, I don't think she can except that I just don't like or trust him around me and Sandra. No I don't think we'll be invited to the wedding after reading the text she sent me, so we haven't told Sandra she's getting married yet until we know what's going to happen. I'm seriously thinking of making an emergency appointment with the dentist, I'm not registered so will have to go through the hospital, it's really sore now and has flared up again since yesterday. I'm taking asprin and don't think I can take that for a long period of time and I've been taking them every day for a while now. I've noticed a red mark on my cheek today so it might not be an abscess, maybe a trip to the doctors first might be better. All I know is I'm terrified, but I can't go on like this as it's quite painful and sore. I think it's going to be one of those weeks and not in a good way either. Pleased to see your dentist appointment went well.
Pleased to see your son got the caretakers job Mandy, how funny sitting in front of the little ones while they asked questions, what was his answer to the best thing you have ever mended question?
Sorry to hear you haven't seen your son in such a long time Mel. Thank you for your kind words, yes Sandra is lovely and very kind and thoughtful too. I ended up crying in pain the other day with my tooth and she came over and gave me a gentle hug so she didn't hurt me.....bless her. I'm so lucky to have her in my life and love her to the moon and back. Did you find a washing line in the end, the one I bought was only a cheap one, but I don't know what's inside it, so sorry I can't answer your question. It's very thin if that helps? I didn't have a proper look at the web site I sent but it looked like it might have what you want on there, if not and you would like mine let me know and I'll post it to you.
I hope you find your grand and great grandchildren Frank, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. How nice to have Biggles staying, I know how much you love having him. It'll be nice to see Harvey and Lewis on Mother's Day. It sounds like Ros had a good evening out. I haven't had a prawn cocktail for years, I love them and quite fancy one now lol ;-)

Good morning Gill, Mel, and all,
We have grey sky's here also Mel, I can't see any movement on the trees in the garden, so I expect it will feel a bit warmer our there.
Eos finished weeding the front gravel yesterday, and gave a lot of self setters of pansies, and various spring flowers, to neighbours next door to Tony. They were very pleased to receive them.
She had a very nice evening last night, there were over 60 members there. They had Prawn Cocktail to start followed by a beef Stroganoff , or Vegetarian meal. They finished with various sweets. Home around 10.15, just as I was finishing watching HARRY REDKNAPP. As soon as that was over I went to bed.
I had a visitor all evening, and he stayed the night. "GIGGLES" His mum and dad had been out all day, and he had been on his own. They were both out last night and didn't like to leave him alone, so Uncle Frank had him. When Ros came home she said that Anne was so tired, she couldn't be bothered to walk round for him. So could he stay the night. She collected him this morning, while I was in the shower.
Harvey has invited us down to him for Mothers Day, so that will be nice for Ros. Lewis will be working, but should be home around 7.00 pm. So I expect we will stay to see him.
Like Mel, I haven't seen my Daughter for MANY YEARS. That's one of the reasons I am looking for my Grandchildren and hopefully Gt. Grandchildren. Will keep you posted if anything comes of my enquires .
Going to get something out for dinner tonight. Then a coffee and a bit of toast. SEE YOU LATER. xxx

Morning all
Bright and sunny here today although it's not very warm yet. My mouth isn't as sore this morning, but that might be because I haven't eaten yet, so I'll see how it goes throughout the day.
The builders are back next door, so hopefully everything will be finished soon. We heard yesterday that the drive isn't being done for 3 weeks as the fella is booked up until then, but I should imagine once that job is done the new owners will move in. It's going to seem strange not seeing a skip outside, or hearing knocking and banging anymore. They've been on the work since last November. OH was joking the other week and said they could of built a whole house in the time it's took them to do next door and I think he might be right lol.
As for Michelle, I'm okay with it now, I'm just going to try and avoid any upset by ignoring the text, I don't think it would serve a purpose to rock the boat. Plus she didn't ask any questions just said she won't be making that mistake again, which I think refers to her boyfriend talking her into visiting us. OH said she shouldn't of needed persuading. I don't know what's going on in her life but she doesn't sound very happy and seems to be angry all the time. I hope what ever it is she can sort it soon, it's not healthy feeling angry all the time. In the meantime we're looking forward to the summer and warmer weather. I think people feel better when the suns out, I know I do.
I've finally found my grape hyacinths (Muscari) I thought had gone missing. I had about 7 small pots of them and couldn't understand why they weren't showing in our back garden, it's because they are in our front garden. Silly me thought the bulbs were crocus bulbs so planted them in the ground and now they are flowering beautifully right along the boarder near the front fence. I'm going to take them back out though as they were a present off my mum, so I'd like to take them with us if ever we move, for now though they can stay where they are as they look lovely.
I've decided to take a beautiful lime green conifer out of the front garden to, my sister gave it to me a few years ago and because most of the leaves have fell off our smaller Red Robins around our water feature in the back, we need something tall and evergreen to go there, so we're going to use the conifer. At this rate I'll have nothing left in the front lol. To be honest we shouldn't of put the conifer in the front last year as it's going to grow really big in the ground so we need something smaller there instead. The conifer won't grow as quickly in a large pot and will look nicer at the back of the water feature. So it looks like we're going to be busy again sorting out our gardens, once the weather warms up a bit.
I'm going to get a cuppa now, then catch up with the posts. I hope everyone has the lovely weather we have today. :-) :-)

Michelle hasn't spoken to us for over 2 years AnnG apart from when we went to OH's brother's funeral last year. When OH was talking with her boyfriend outside yesterday he said with his redundancy and shares, plus savings they would have almost 50K between them so I doubt they'd need us to pay for the wedding. We had thought the same as you though about them wanting us to pay for it. I doubt we'll be invited anyway going by the way her text was, as she sounded very angry.
Michelle has been like this for years, long before she moved out, I've lost count of the arguments we all had. The stories Sandra has told me about her since she has left, about the way she treated Sandra are awful. I'm beginning to think it might be better if we do part ways even if it isn't what us three want, as all this tension really isn't healthy for anyone. We've got enough on our plate with the builders next door, so we don't need anymore drama in our lives at the moment.
We've had the builders here all day, then another one was here from 5pm to 9pm putting the kitchen in, so quite a lot of noise. At least things are being done now and we've been told the skip is being emptied tomorrow, plus the scaffolding boards and other bits and bobs are being taken away, so hopefully it'll be a lot tidier then.
I'm really tired at the moment and would love to go to bed but need to stay up for another hour so I can take another pain killer, my face is all swollen on the left hand side and very painful at the moment, so if I don't take something for it I won't be able to sleep. I couldn't even concentrate on the sewing bee so will have to watch that again at some point. Just watching Salvage Hunters with OH, once it's finished it'll be time for a painkiller, then I'm off to bed. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight, as I didn't have a good nights sleep last night.

Gill I wonder if this is Michelle’s Boyfriend controlling what she says to you. It sounds as though he has found a way to hurt you through Michelle, because he can’t challenge you direct. Maybe it is better not to reply, let it go and hope that eventually she will come round. I wonder if him asking if he could marry her was him hoping that her dad would offer to pay for the wedding?
Of course we don’t mind you leaning on us when you need support. And be careful with that abcess

Sitting here in quite a bit of pain at the moment, the abscess has started to burst, so hopefully in the next few days it'll stop hurting and start to heal.
I've had a terrible text off Michelle because we would only let her in and not her boyfriend yesterday. He treated me really badly a few years ago and I thought he was going to hit me, I'm really frightened of him and never want to see him again, let alone let him in the bungalow and I definitely don't want him anywhere near Sandra.
Well, Michelle is calling me selfish plus a lot more nasty things, including that I'm stopping her seeing her dad and Sandra and saying if I don't except her boyfriend then she's not coming around again. We have never stopped her visiting, just him, so I don't know why she's saying I'm stopping her seeing her dad and sister. Ever since she has left she has always done this so OH and I are really fed up of it now.
We've not told Sandra about the text as it would really upset her which we don't want, but it looks like Michelle has now decided not to have anything to do with us anymore. She said she didn't say anything yesterday as she wanted to see Sandra. I've never stopped her seeing her sister and never would. It's really upset OH and I.
I haven't replied to her text and to be honest I wouldn't know how to answer such a nasty text anyway. OH said to ignore her as it'll probably end up in yet another argument. It's such a shame we can't be a happy family, but I can't chance her boyfriend coming anywhere near Sandra and I with his temper. I need to put Sandra's safety first and of course mine, I just hope in time Michelle will come and see her again as she's done nothing wrong and really misses Michelle.
Sorry I'm very upset with the situation and we were all very happy to see her yesterday too. Now we don't know if we'll ever see her again. She didn't give any indication that she wasn't happy with the situation yesterday, just sent the nasty text to me this morning instead.
I haven't caught up with the post so hope everyone is okay and sorry for pouring my heart out to you all. I'm just really upset at the moment and hope you don't mind me getting it all off my chest? Hopefully I won't be so upset tomorrow.

We were very patient about the young learner, and understanding. I thought though it was partly the instructors fault as once he’d stalled once (to our knowledge) I thought the next time he had to stop in traffic on the mini roundabout, as traffic was so heavy she should have helped him with the dual controls. Long ago as it is I can remember my instructor doing just that. I think he was a very new driver as his steering was not that good either. Poor lad in a few months he will be jetting around like many others his age.

Is it a full time or a part time job? Scary for him though having a first interview.I would be a wreck if I had to have an interview now. The last interview I had was 2 people coming to my house to interview me for being a Magistrate !!!!! . I didnt get it . I think because I had worked for Victim Support was one of the things against me. Interviews for anything are very scary .I am so glad I will never have to go through one again. :-D

Evening all,
It's been a nice day here ,bit chilly at times when the sun goes in but in the sun it's lovely .
Ann you've been busy finishing off all those lovely necklaces and the bracelet ,like Jane i love the necklace with the big blue stone although i love all the others too ,you finish them off with some nice clasps ,what's on the go now ?
Gill i think you should go to the dentist ,just explain how you feel they are so much more understanding now than years ago , just go so they can just have a look in your mouth and sit in the chair ,that's the first step just sitting in the chair ,they probably won't even do any thing ,they might just give you some antibiotics which will ease the pain . You'll be so pleased with your self once you've done it, and you can ,you can do it Get registered and go and sit for a while in the waiting room ,they don't have that smell like they use to years ago either i think you'll be surprised . What a nice surprise you had with Michelle visiting today ,i bet Sandra was pleased.
Son was pleased today he went for an interview at the little school where the little ones go and has been offered the job as Assistant Caretaker ,he's been self employed for years and has never even had an interview for a job before so to be offered the job he was so chuffed . He said the worst bit was sitting in front of the school council which was a row of the little ones LOL ,they had to ask him questions and one little boy asked "what's the best thing you have ever mended"" :-D
Sounds as if you enjoyed your day out AnnG ,that poor leaner driver though he was probably panicking when he could see all the cars building up behind him , the lasagne sounded just like my sort of meal.

Di called in this morning and we had a coffee and a good chat. She has a lump come up on the back of her neck which is very sore. She thinks its an abcess so she has to go to hospital at the end of the month to get it sorted. With Di coming I was running very late and arrived home about 5pm. By this time the sun had gone and now its all grey cloud.
It would have been a lovely day to spend in the garden but if I leave shopping till another day its puts all my week out.
I bought 4 pots of the mini daffs today to put in my big tubs out the front of the bungalow. They are full of Scilla's at the mo and the old tulips which have been in there for a couple of years. I shall have to have those out I think.
Sounds like you had a lovely time at HIdcote AnninG apart from the drive home behind the learner. No cooking for you tonight either.
I have sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice tonight and oh has his usual curry.
Just about getting dark now so must go and shut the girls in.

Sounds like you had a nice day AnnG until getting stuck behind the learner driver.Poor chap was probably a nervous wreck with stalling all the time and knowing he was holding up all the traffic. I remember feeling the same when I was a learner but my instructor said people just have to be patient as they were all learners once :-D. So true.
That was a nice surprise to see Michelle . It is such a shame her boyfriend sounds a bit of a waster and not a very pleasant person. It would be nice if maybe one day he could just drop Michelle off at yours for a while and maybe he could go off and see his Mum on his own. Sandra would have been pleased that Michelle remembered her Birthday (although I think it s not until next month?) .Do you think you actually might get an invite to the wedding???
Gill you say you want this thing to pop .It sounds like an abscess if it feels like that. You really do need to get it looked at.You dont want to take the risk of any infection spreading. The Dentist won't touch it until you have had a course of antibiotics. Please dont leave it. How can you want to lose weight ?????? you are so slim and weigh nothing already!!!!.
Mel do you ever have a pootle around Bideford Pannier Market these days?. I know I have mentioned this before but my Aunty Joyce always went there every Tuesday for as long as i can remember . Mum and Aunty Betty lived just around the corner in Pitt Lane when they were girls :-D
Frank you should come over here one day and see what is going on !!!!. You would get such a shock. If you ever do just let me know and you and Ros could pop in :-D
My Dental check went so well.I was in and out even before my actual appointment time!!. Nothing needing doing, not even a visit to the hygienist's .So all being well I wont need to seew him again until about September.
Ann, I have had a bit of a clear out of clothes today :-D :-D. Chris had 4 big bags to take to Waitrose in the morning where there is a Cransley Hospice Charity Clothes Bin.I have 12 extra spare hangers now plus a bit more space in one of my drawers. I am sure there is still an awful lot I really dont need to hang on to.
Southern Fried Chicken ,Potato wedges,Asparagus ,Broccoli and Peas tonight. Chris is just about on his knees now after a long day in the garden. He can hardly move bless him. I even bought some nice muscle relaxing bath stuff, but he wont have a bath :-| :-| Silly billy. It would do him good to have a good soak. I thought it was tonight our water was being turned off but it is tomorrow night.
It is very still outside. Not a breath of wind at all.

Just back from a pleasant trip to Hidcote. It was mostly cloudy but dry and not cold. Lots of Helebores, some Magnolias and lots of spring flowers (daffs, primroses forget me nots, anenome Blanda etc. There were 7 of us, we met in the restaurant for coffee at 11.30 and by the time we got back there just after 1pm it was really crowded. So we had a bit more of a look round and T and I decided that we wouldn't have lunch there (the other 5 did), so we drove back to Cheltenham and had lunch in the beefeater. I had a very nice Sweet potato and feta cheese lasagne (and chips and a small piece of garlic bread. OH had fish and chips. And we got in about 3.30 so a good day out with a pleasant drive across the Cotswolds. Until we picked up a learner driver (Male with female instructor), not far out of Cheltenham who didn't seem really ready to be in traffic. Stopped at a large cross roads - 4 way lights. Lights went green, he stalled it and didn't get going again until the lights had gone red again Huge queue behind us by then. She appeared to use the dual controls when they went green again and we followed him slowly round the winding road. got to another mini roundabout. He stalled it again, so we changed direction, didn't follow him but went right at the roundabout. Wonder if they ever got home?
Hope you can get a lead on the whereabouts of your grandchildren Frank, it is sad that you have no contact.
Gill, good that Michelle came round today, I am sure it was lovely for Sandra to get to see her sister. I assume it was just a formality her boyfriend asking if he could marry her. Keeping up with tradition. Hope he is serious about setting up a business and doesn't intend to live off her money. You really should go to the dentist, bad infections in the gums can cause all sorts of other problems, even possibly Sepsis. Why not see your GP and ask for a sedative to take when you go to the dentist. Or ask the pharmacists advice. There are things you can take that are natural sedatives and don't need a prescription, just something to calm your nerves. It is not setting a good example to Sandra either, you will be passing your fear on to her. I actually hate the dentist, am really nervous and always tell them I am nervous when I have a different dentist. They are used to it.

Good morning to you all,
Gill I was the worlds worst person for going to the Dentist. it all changed when I spent a month camping with my ex and the children. I had tooth ache for the whole time I was away, and lived on ASPIRIN and Spanish BRANDY, swilling the brandy around my mouth helped a lot. When I finally got home I went to the dentist, and within a minute or two the tooth was gone and so was the pain. JUST DO IT MY LOVE. It will be over before you know it.xxx
Jane, that is one hell of a development that is going on around you. I heard on the news this morning they are building another 30,000 properties in BASILDON, ESSEX that was a NEW TOWN in the sixties, I would have thought it was big enough without more development, but as AnnG said people need a place to live.
Mandy, what a great friend you must be, looking after that house for the pass 18 months. It has taken a longtime to sell, hasn't it. ?? I think you deserve the fridge or whatever you have your eye on.
Yes Annx, those jewellery bits are very nice to look at, Will that be for you or a present for someone.??
Mel, I expect where you live, makes it difficult to POP to the supermarket as and when you need some bits. I hope you remember all your needs today. ;-) ;-)
Not a bad morning here, the sun is out, and seems quite warm. I went to get the bins in earlier and the sun felt nice on my back. Tracey was out at her car and came and pulled my green bin down the drive, she is such a nice girl, Well lady she is in her 50s, lol lol. Her mum and dad have had so many things done to the property and gardens, so that if and when she is on her own, she won't have anything to worry about. Hopefully it will be many years before that happens. Her dad is 85 and her mum 80. The same age as me.
I promise, I will get Harvey to look at putting something for me to hold onto when I go down the steps.
Conrad rang to speak to his Mum last night, he was catching the 7.00 am flight from Exeter this morning, so Jan had to be up early to take him. She told Ros she has caught SHINGLES, She is in a lot of discomfort, and has to wear very loose clothing so they don't rub against her skin. I remember Conrad having it when we lived at Gayton. Not nice. !!!
I think if it drys out a bit, I might get the new mower out nd give the lawns a cut. We will see. !!!
I have a Tesco Finest meal for ONE tonight, as Ros will be out at the Village hall for Mothers Club GOLDEN Anniversary. She has been asked by Val next door if she can take her, so she will be nurse maid, to her this evening.
Ros has done a big basket of ironing this morning, while watching T.V.
I have put a note on FB asking if anyone knows the whereabouts of my Grandchildren, I will have to just sit back and wait. The chances are I have been blocked, so won't know.

Morning all,
Sunny morning here and only a slight breeze. It would be like this today when I have to go shopping. If I go any other day its so busy. Today is market day in Bideford so everyone goes early and its more or less over by the time I get in soits nice and quiet in the shop.
Gill it must have been lovely to see Michelle after all this time and I bet Sandra was over the moon especially as she brought her birthday presents.
You must go to a dentist as I can tell you from my experience that its not as bad as you think its going to be nowadays. I had'nt been to a dentist for twenty odd years because the last time I went my dentist had retired and I had trusted him.. I had a nasty time as a child with one who got the thing they poke around your teeth stuck in one of my teeth and then he got this hook thing in the side of my mouth. When we moved to Suffolk I never went and when I moved down here I never went until oh made me go. My dentist now is lovely. He is very gentle and chats away to you all the time to take your mind off what he is doing. Please go as I lost a lot of my teeth through not going. This could have been avoided if I had gone on a regular basis.

Morning all
The sun is trying it's best to make an appearance, not sure if it will though as we have lots of clouds, it's a lot warmer than it has been lately so that's good.
What a big trench that is Jane, I thought Badgers were protected, if they are I'm surprised they were allowed to dig.
Sorry to hear you've had another fall Frank, like the other's have said it might be time to address the issue now, it can't be doing you any good tripping up all the time. Good luck with finding your grandsons.
18 months is a long time Mandy, you are a good friend keeping an eye on the place. Good idea to have the dishwasher, especially if it hasn't been used much.
My tooth was okay yesterday, until the evening when it felt a bit sore, I put some Bonjela on it and took a painkiller then went to bed, this morning I woke and it was really hurting, as I was waking up my jaw jolted and my bottom tooth hit my top one, the one that's been sore, so I've just taken another pain killer which seems to have helped. I still haven't got the courage to go the dentist, I really am terrified at the thought, so I'm hoping it'll pop soon and clear itself up. I think I'd have to be in agony before I'd trust a dentist again. I wanted to loose a bit of weight and only eating soup and soft things is helping, so with a bit of luck by the time it clears up I'll be able to get back into my jeans again.
OH noticed a workman this morning, it's the one I helped when he had an accident on site, so he went over to him for a chat, he's only young and is in the middle of buying his first house, the owners have been dragging their heals on signing the paperwork and emptying the property but that seems to be speeding up now, so hopefully he'll be able to move in soon with his partner and little daughter.
While OH was chatting he asked why there hadn't been any workmen next door for over a week, apparently the boss took a week off. The owner was ringing the boss every day wondering why no one was at his property, but the boss dug his heals in and wouldn't do any work. Apparently the boss is helping the workman put the laminate flooring back down that they had to take up to put the under floor heating in, so at the moment all we can hear is bang, bang, bang. The workman also said the kitchen was going in this week and the last of the electrics finished, then there's only the toilets to plumb in as the owner didn't want them doing until he was ready to move in and of course the dreaded drive that we're not looking forward to. I'm still not sure if the owner will move in this month though.
We had a nice surprise yesterday, Michelle turned up for a visit to give Sandra her birthday presents, she didn't take her coat off or have a cup of tea, but at least it's a start. I don't like her boyfriend after the way he treated us a few years ago so he wasn't welcome in our property and he stayed in the car, OH spoke to him outside where he asked OH if he could marry Michelle. We've just found out that Michelle's boyfriend is being made redundant at the end of the month so of course OH was concerned how he was going to support her. Michelle is working, but it's not fair that she should pay all the bills and rent. Apparently her boyfriend has been offered a few jobs but he's refused them all. OH was very concerned about this, but said yes to them getting married as the boyfriend did say he was hoping to start up his own business, but like OH said he would of married her anyway no matter what he'd said and the boyfriend said yes he would marry her anyway, so I didn't see the point in asking OH in the first place if that was his attitude.
Sandra was pleased to see her sister, but we're not sure when she'll visit again, she only came around because she was in the area visiting mine and OH's mum's. She visits them quite a lot and up to now has never come around to see us, but like I said it's a start I suppose.
