Evening all,

We've had a wet start to the day but it had stopped by nine o'clock so we went out to do our shopping ,first we checked on my friends bungalow which is sold but there's all the paper work to be done ,after that we went to Aldi then on to Tesco for some bits and then we got petrol and then home by that time it was lunch time .

Son is doing all the work on Lewis's bedroom Anne he's got some of the frame work in today and then he will get the plaster board on .
Lewis was in a toddler bed but they bought him a new single bed so he needed a little more room he's so excited bless him .

On Friday they have to dress up as it's world book day ,Lewis has been listening to the Wonky Donkey song so he wants to go as the Wonky Donkey :-D luckily DIL has a donkey outfit which i think was one of the childrens from a Chritmas nativity play so thank goodness i don't have to make a donkey outfit .

Frank i hope the new boiler went in ok and there were no hitches ,you should be nice and warm now .

Oh the poor girls Mel having to paddle again ,i now have an image in my mind of your girls wearing wellies :-D

Gill sounds as if you've had a good day today getting lots of your jobs done .

Hope your grandson has had a good birthday AnnG it must be a nice relaxing craft card making ,i've watched the Create and Craft channel on tv and they make some really pretty cards on there.

I meant to say Chelsea and Katie now have a baby rabbit each ,Chelsea has called hers Midnight (he's black )and katie's is called Marshmallow (he's white )

Didn't see you there Mel, it sounds like you've been busy today, OH washed the kitchen and bathroom windows today for me, he only did the inside with all the rain outside. The other windows can wait a bit longer with all the work going on next door, some of the dust keeps coming through the air vents so it's getting everywhere, although the rain is helping to keep the dust from coming in, so at the moment we don't mind the bad weather.

Gillx Report 6 Mar 2019 18:33

What seeds has your OH planted AnnG? All the bulbs I planted last year are starting to have buds on them and some of the Tulips are already in flower. I also noticed today that my Camelia has some lovely pink flowers on them, so that'll look lovely when all the flowers are in bloom. I don't know why but I thought your grandson was younger, I hope he had a nice day. It'll be nice to visit the family when you go. Making cards for charity is a lovely idea.

No Jane it wasn't hair colouring day today, although I will have to colour my hair fairly soon as my roots are starting to show again. I can't believe how fast my hair is growing at the moment, I thought hair slowed down in growth during the winter, but I guess that isn't the case.

I missed the last Corrie. For some reason it didn't record, but Sandra has brought me up to speed, so I watched the history of London over 2000 years instead, it was really good. Did anyone else watch it? I'm just watching Rich Kids go Skint before the soaps come on.

Oh always bring all the bags of shopping in for me but it the fighting with the chest freezer I hate. I really must give it a good clear out as I hav'nt a clue whats in the bottom. I know there is a lot of bags of apples in there and I think a lot of those could go. The chickens alway have a good feed when I do it as nothing goes to waste in this house.

I have cleaned all the kitchen windows this afternoon and scrubbed the edges. Now if it stopped raining I could get the outsides done too.

Library tomorrow morning so I must'nt forget as I did last time I was a few days out. I thought it was the 11th Feb but it was the 7th so I hae been without my stories now for weeks.

Afternoon All
No rain so far today here .I think we must be in the dry part of the country as it seems you all have the wet weather. I wouldnt be surprised if it rains soon though .

Frank, are you all warm and toasty now with the new boiler. I hope it all went smoothly today.
AnnG it will be nice for you to get together next week with the family.Happy Birthday to your Grandson today.

Gill you have been very busy today! and even managed to get your hairwash in too. Was it ia colour day or just a wash?

Poor Chucks Mel having to paddle around in all that rain water.

Mandy that sounds quite a job for your Son making Lewis's bedroom a bit bigger.I expect now Lewis is getting bigger he will be needing more space for all his toys!! :-D.

Cottage Pie and Veg for us tonight. I am feeling pretty peckish now.

Hi Gill, yes it has rained here all day as well. OH has managed to plant some seeds in the greenhouse and I have been making cards. The person who sells them for charity is coming to collect them on Friday so I needed to finish some off.

Grandson, (daughters youngest 'child') is 27 today, looking forward to tomorrow week when we go to Hampshire to see him and his oldest brother and family.

You have been busy, making me feel guilty as all I did was wash my hair and get the weekly shop (and make 6 cards.) :-D :-D

Happy birthday to your Grandson AnnG, how old is he?

Is your boiler up and running now Frank? That was nice of Ros to stay with you. Good idea to have a takeaway.

It's pouring with rain here, has been all day, the garden is having a good watering which will save us a job with having so many pot plants to water.

All the hoovering and washing is finished, the beds have been changed and the kitchen and bathroom are sparkling like new pins. I've washed my hair so that feels better and now I'm going to watch corrie from the other day before it's back on again later while I have my cup of tea.

I am lucky in that OH always comes shopping and helps pack and loads it into the car and most of it into the house. He is then 'allowed' to put away the bits he knows where they go but I do the rest. It is the bending and stretching into the fridge and cupboards that makes me tired. No fun getting old!!

A very Happy Birthday to your grandson AnninG.

Your weather sounds about the same as we have hear today. I know what you mean about shopping. You lug it in the trolly, then lug it out and I put mine back in the trolly, then you lug it from the trolly into the car and then when you get home you lug it out of the car and then out of the bags and into the cupboards and fridge. I am not surprised we get tired after that lot.

A wet and windy day here that is more like April with patches of sun between showers. We decided that today was a good day to do the weekly shop so that is out of the way. I am always glad when it is all packed away in the cupboards and fridge, I find that so tiring.

Grandson's birthday today and it would have been my Mum's 110th birthday, although she died in 1994 when she was 85.

We,ve had so much rain the chicken run is running with water. I don't think it is so cold today as it was yesterday.

I hsve filled all the bird feeders up and taken a delivery of oh's new saw and saw blade. Thrown away the old hedgehog food and cleaned my shoes and handbag.

I am now going to clean the bathroom before lunch.

Frank Report 6 Mar 2019 10:24

We are sitting in the lounge with JUMPERS ON, Evening with the heaters on it's still COLD.

Ros isn't going out, she says it's not fair to leave me to it. I have been TEA BOY. They can't half drink the stuff. I have now told them to make their own. I have put the pot of tea bags and sugar near the kettle, and the milk is in the fridge.

I have decided we will have a takeaway tonight. I just can't be bothered standing in the kitchen preparing anything.

No housework here Gill. What with the chaps walking back and forth, there is no point.

Hope you are all O.K.

Morning Frank Gill and all,

It got windy here last night With lots of rain again before I went to bed and this morning is about the same with some sunny spells in between. There won't be much done on the chicken house today me thinks.

When I went into Bideford last week do you remember I told you there were a couuple of bushy trees all white with their blossom? They looked so beautiful. Well this week they were all brown so they must have had some bad weather too as the blossom ususally lasts longer than a week. As I came round the bend at Landcross I expected to see this lovely white tree but I think the hail and frost must have got to it. Its right near the river too which usually shelters the blossom down the valley.

Morning all

Raining here today, lots of house work to do and washing so that'll keep me busy.

Pleased to hear Janice is improving with her knee Jane, it sounds like you had a lovely lunch with her yesterday.

I'm glad you got the mower in the end Frank, nice of Harvey to pick it up for you, is he going to put the glass in the greenhouse to. Sorry to hear about your sister, I hope Simon can take you to see her. Good news about your SIL though. You'll soon have your new boiler in then you can warm the place up. I'm like you if I know I have to be up early in the morning, I just can't seem to drop off to sleep the night before. Hopefully you'll have a nice sleep tonight once all the work is finished.

Good idea to take some of the bigger room to enlarge Lewis's room Mandy, that'll be nice for him. We didn't have any pancakes, I forgot what day it was.

Pleased to see Naomi will be out of hospital soon Anne, what a worry it must of been for her.

It sounds like your OH is getting on well with the chicken house Mel, how much has he got left to do?

Going to do some hoovering now, first load of washing is on, then I must wash my hair later, it's starting to look like rats tails. Haven't heard that saying for a while lol. :-D :-D

Good morning all,

You wouldn't want to be in our house today. Front door open, porch door open. They are draining the system down. So no gas and no water. They expect to be finished around 4.00 pm. Boy is it cold with all the doors open and no heating on. I think I will send Ros out to visit Valerie, I will keep the men supplied with TEA. !!!!

We or should I say Ros had pancakes I made her four, but she only had three. The last one was to thick, it was the last of the mixture.

I have the halogen heater on in the lounge and a fan heater in the dining room end. So we should stay warmish in the main room.

I was awake from 2.00 am Worried I wouldn't be awake when they came at 7.15 am. I was up and dressed by 5.00 am, and sat reading with the heating on.

We have filled the saucepans and kettle with water, so we should be alright.

Be back later to report. xxx

Good evening all

Mel I loved seeing the photos of all your land I can see why it keeps you and your OH so busy. I would loved to have had a walled garden.

Frank I didn't receive the photo of Buddy in his hat but would love to see it. Good that you have the mower. Sorry to hear about your sister lets hope you can get to see her soon.

Jane when Ruby was spayed she also had the same as your sisters dog just had to undo it when she went to the loo I.hope you had an enjoyable time with Janice and
Larry

Went to the hygienist this morning and this afternoon had my hair cut,so all sorted for a while...

We also had pancakes after the evening meal and they went down well, they made a nice change too..

Mandy , Lewis must be very pleased about his bedroom being made larger. is his Dad doing it all himself or getting help?

Naomi, my niece should be out of hospital in the next couple of days. She has had a lumbar puncture, a brain scan followed by 4 doses of steroids, the results of all the tests suggests this may have started about 7 years ago, the time she had Bell's Palsy. She had convinced herself it was a brain tumour and wouldn't see her girls grow up.

O I just love Buddie in the HAT. You must see if they can get a better picture front view so we can really see him in it. Ros has made a lovely job of it as usual. Clever girl.
So do you have to manage without your teeth while they are in for repair Frank?

Its good you got the mower.

I have a homemade S & K pie for tonight and oh is having his usual curry.

AnninG birds do sometimes nest in bushes etc against a house. Jenny Wren built in our clematis at the end of the decking which runs alongside our bungalow. The Wrens loved the old shed in the orchard and my old shed which was in there too but oh knocked them both down once he built my new shed. We even found a big hedgehog under the big old shed in the orchard.

Nearly time to sxstart feeding them again this year. I wonder if I shall get any this year. I am a bit worried about the huge piles of branches from the trees Jim took down and piled high in the field at the back. He said he was going to burn them in the spring. I am just hoping its before the hogs decide to go in there.

Evening all,

It's been another nice sunny day here but a bit chilly in the wind .
We popped out this morning with son to get some wood and plaster board he's going to make Lewis's bedroom a little bigger by taking in some of their bedroom ,they have quite a big bedroom so won't miss a little bit .

It was hair cut day today so i now feel quite itchy round the neck .

Frank i love the hat for Buddy he looks good in it just a shame you carn't see his face ,Ros has done a great job ,he'll want another one for when this one is in the wash LOL
That's good news about the boiler going in tomorrow ,the old one has served you well .

Jane it must have been nice to see Janice and Larry for a catch up ,were they pleased with the new car ?
Good to hear Janice's knee is improving just a shame it will never be right after all the pain she has had with it .

So still no joy Ann with finding a pair of trousers ,it's so annoying when you carn't find what you want there's lots of summer things getting into the shops now i noticed so i suppose darker colours are hard to find .
I carn't remember if we had May day holiday ,we certainly never had all the teacher training days that they have now .
The little school near us that Lacey goes to finishes at five past three ,the middle school that Chelsea and Katie goes to finishes about twenty past three and Jake comes out at three thirty so all out at different times .

Who's had Pancakes then :-D :-D and how many :-D
We didn't as there was a little bit of cheese cake left from yesterday so i might do some tomorrow.

Frank Report 5 Mar 2019 17:28

Hi all, Barry called at Tony's this afternoon and done his lawn. I called over to him to see if he had time to do mine, but he's tied up for today so is coming Friday weather permitting.

YES I got the mower, have given Harvey his number and has rung the chap. Left a message for him to ring Harvey, to arrange collection.

I have carried the new glass down to the Greenhouse, Harvey said he will fit it for me when he comes up next time.

I didn't think you would be outside today Jane a bit BRASS MONKEY OUT THERE. lol.

I assume we had Whit Mondsy off school, but I must admit it's too far back to remember.

My niece Pat rang to catch up on her visit to my Sister, and SIL. SIL is looking well, where as my sister looks at DEATHS DOOR. She just lays in bed, unable to move very much, and not taking much notice of whats going on around her. Poor woman. All I can do is keep in touch with Paul, I must try to arrange with Simon if he can spare a day to take me down to see her. Ros just wouldn't cope with Suburban Traffic around London. I know she would be petrified driving round the M 25, M 11 and into Woodford via the busy roads. She is 73 which I tend to forget. As she tries, and does look, a lot younger. But it would be a strain on her to even contemplate the drive.

Off to put the SPUDS on, Everything should be ready for 6.00 or there about.
