Evening all

I keep getting the error page so haven't been able to get on here today, for some reason I had to sign in again to.

I've cleaned all our drive down this morning and now it's dirty again with the work next door, I don't know why I bothered.

I hope all goes well with James and Jess tomorrow Jane. It must be difficult if one wants children the the other doesn't. I hope they can remain friends if they don't get back together romantically.

So your OH is going to make the chicken house now Mel. I suppose if it's going to cost the same and you can make it the way you want, that's the best way of doing it. I'd love to see a pic when it's finished.

That's good news with your OH's eye Ann. I'm really pleased for him.

I lost my post and had to start again, so I'm going to post this now, sorry I haven't mentioned everyone, but I don't want to lose my post again. Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow.

What a beautiful afternoon, Wall to wall sunshine.

Eos did her ironing this morning and has been cleaning the greenhouse this afternoon. She been interrupted by a phone call from the garage. He has just come to pick her up. I needed someone to pick me up when he told me how much the bill was. £221 26. Thank GAWD those bills don't come around very often. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Mel, it will be lovely OH making the hen house to your liking, rather than a "GERRY BUILT" one. I haven't heard that expression for many a year. I think they used that when they built houses after the WAR.

Ann it certainly looks like you will be spoilt with the new HOUSE in the garden, for your beading. !! How many of you will fit in there.?? Will you still be able to melt your glass etc.?? It will be lovely in the winter having heatingg as well.

Mandy, I like you was in the garden without a jacket, while doing the Wet and Forget.
Pumping the fluid through the machine, has made my neck and shoulder ache. I have been sitting with a fleece round me neck, trying to ease the pain. I hope I haven't done any lasting damage. This is the trouble when you don't exert yourself very often.

I have left a message for "BARRY" to come when he has time, to cut the lawns and hoover up the leaves in the borders. Ros has found TWO dead fish in the pond this afternoon. .So I expect she will be buying more next time she is at the Garden Centre.

Annx I used to love my "OLD FRIEND" sitting on the arm of my chair for a cuddle and fuss. It's when you hear about other cats, that you miss having him around. NO I am NOT getting another. I hope your OHs tummy clears up soon. They are not very nice are they.??

Ros has just told me she forgot to pick up the MOT and paper work for the service. Perhaps she can call in there tomorrow on her way to meet Martine.

Nice easy tea tonight, which will suit me down to the ground. I was thinking of going up the Football Club to see the lads. But at the moment I don't feel I will be moving far from my armchair.

Have a nice evening all, catch you tomorrow, if bot sooner. xxxx

Afternoon all,

What a beautiful day it is ,the sun is so warm as Colin was doing some jobs outside i took the coffee out and we sat in the sun shine with no jacket on ,fancy being able to do that in February .
Well the ironing was eyeing me up today so i gave in and now it's all done :-D
Also cleaned some windows so they look better ,the sun is nice but it shows all the windows up and don't get me started on the dust !!! :-D

Ann OH must be relieved to have been discharged from the hospital and that the Iritis has cleared up with help from the drops , at least he got his eye drops this time be it in single doses .
What a shame the little church was well kept but had that neglected area ,was it a redundant church ?

It's just the right sort of day to do your spraying Frank ,they must have been worried when they saw the swelling on the dog but it's good it's only fluid and will go down on it's own .

So the new hen house is all designed how you would like it then Mel ,OH will have plenty to do when the wood arrives ,will he need you as his labourer ?

So you'll soon be in a new studio room to do your beading Ann that will be nice ,does it all open out to the garden ?it will be lovely in the summer .
Hope OH's tummy soon gets better ,it sounds just like i had last week end .

Afternoon All,

It's very springlike here too Mel, with lots of sunshine. I met with my beading pals this morning at the house with the big cats. She has had one of the rot proof studios OH and I were looking at last year erected in her garden and it looks lovely with her mature trees around it! She hasn't finished fitting it out yet, but I think we will be beading in there soon. It has it's own little radiator and lights along the edge of the roof at the front, double glazed windows and is plastered out inside and painted white. We had a good look at her chickens and bantams today, so many varieties and I was surprised the Buff Orpington had such soft feathers. One of the cats jumped on the next chair to me and was patting my arm as he wanted a chin tickle. I can't believe how such big, heavy cats can spring up and land so lightly and carefully.

We were going to the undertakers to order the flowers for my sister this afternoon (the interflora site wouldn't accept the undertaker's postcode so I couldn't do it on-line!! :-S) and were then going to see exactly where the crematorium is as it's not far from there, but OH has been paying visits to his white friend (as Frank would say) for most of the morning, so we'll have to go on Monday instead now. No lunch out today so I think I will do me a garlic mushroom omelette in frylite with sliced tomatoes and avocado. The washing needs to go out first though.

Frank at least you have Simon back in your life now, which is good. That's good news about the dog as it must have been worrying after the good news about the diagnosis. I am looking forward to seeing the other dog's hat too! :-) It may seem a bit silly, but if it puts a smile on people's faces and gets the dog even more fuss, that's great. :-)

Been sorting out the wood for the chickens house and I have now ordered it and it will be here on Tuesday.

Its going to cost nearly as much as that house online but it will be a bit bigger and easier for me to clean out.

Wet and Forget, all sprayed down the drive and the patio. I fit wait until the drive was dry Mel, so it should be alright. THANKS. It took TWO spay containers full to cover the area. one part W & F to five parts water. I have just come in for a rest. Pumping the Spray thingy made my arm sore. NOT FIT. !!!!

Chicken Kievs tonight with Jacket Potato's and Baked Beans or sweet corn, depending on what Madam fancies.

Turned out to be a lovely day now. Just heard from Simon, The dog has a big sweeping where he had his operation. He thought the worse, but when he took him back to the vets, it's a build up of fluids, and should go down on it's own. So that's a good thing.

Off to get a coffee, and a sit down. WHERE IS EVERYONE !!!!????

Morning Frank and all,

We have a lovely sunny morning here in Devon. Its again very Spring like and I am hoping to get some things done today and not just look at what needs doing.

Frank you have to let the Wet and Forget dry on so if the drive is not drying out don't do it. Enjoy your toast.

I think I have bought those scampi things for oh and he did't like them either and one lot really upset his tum so they won't be bought again. I don't like scampi so I did'nt have any.

Oh told me yesterday that they used to use monk fish as frozen scampi but were found out so that was nipped in the bud.

I took a pic of the lake down the big house this morning as I could just make out the geese on it. It is far far away from us down the valley but it came out not too bad. Then I took one of what I could see from the back door and you can hardy see the lake in that one. I will send them later if I have time to download them.

Must get on as there is washing that needs going in the machine.

Good morning fair folks, Very misty morning, that doesn't look like it will lift anytime soon.

Ros has taken the car to the garage to have the brake pipes fitted for the MOT. They will bring her back, and ring us when it's ready, and come and collect her. THEN it's the BILL. Service, MOT, and brake pipes. Thank goodness it's only once a year.

Warning to one and All. DON'T be tempted to buy WHITBY SEAFOOD BREADED SCAMPI BITES. Ros saw them in Tesco yesterday and bought some. They are made with COD. and Langoustines (not that you can taste them) they are a load of mush inside. I appreciate they were only £1.00 a bag, but you expect them to be edible.

Simon isn't in touch with either his Sister or Mother. They had a big fall out a few years ago. I don't know the inns and outs of it, and to be honest I don't want too.

This morning I am going to spray the drive and patio with wet and leave. As the car is off the drive ,I thought it might be a good time to do it.

I'm off now for a bit of toast, them get my jobs done. CATCH YOU LATER>

Yes I had to smile at Mandy looking at the ironing too! Lol. I find I often look at jobs and that's as far as it gets! It must be what happened with the front garden too! Lol How lovely that Lacey was missing Daddy and needed a cuddle, then the next night was wanting to be staying over again!

I liked the chicken shed Mel, but your OH will be able to improve on it for you, like with the door.

OH had another long wait at his eye appointment at the hospital today, while I waited at the supermarket. Good news they have discharged him now. Also his Iritis has cleared up but he has to continue the eye drops for a while. Trouble again getting the drops even from the pharmacy there, he has a huge bag of single doses as that was all they had!

We had a wander around the church at Monks Kirby this afternoon. It is very well kept and has lovely windows, but to the left in a side area we were surprised to see two marble tombs with husband and wife effigies on the top. They were the only tombs inside the church and what was odd was that they were so neglected and dirty and the area seemed to be a dumping ground for all kinds of things like a ladder, stacked chairs etc. It seemed disrespectful really and I imagine they may have contained some of the early Earls of Denbigh as there were wall plaques commemorating some of them.

Mandy I like that, you LOOKED at the ironing!! Ha ha ha I looked at mine but then I did it so I feel good now and I washed towels today which don't need ironing.

I damp dusted my desk and put lots of thigs away and ironing away and all his socks so not a bad day HW wise as a lot of the time was spent talking about the new house.

Afternoon All,

Oh Frank I think Jess would also have a fit at your suggestion too!! It would be like you or I having our spouse's brother or sister 'mediating' when we were getting divorced!!!

I had the same situation with my first OH re having children and told him in the first few weeks of us going out that he needed to know that I couldn't see me ever wanting them. If he'd had any lasting doubts after knowing this, I wouldn't have married him, as I would have felt he wasn't marrying me for the right reason. Over a decade after we were married and were financially comfortable, I did ask him how he felt then. Oh my word, by then he was absolutely horrified at the prospect of his life being 'turned upside down' as he put it!!

Only James and Jess will be able to decide what really matters to them and I hope they can resolve things. One thing I have learned from experience is that feelings for someone you really love never really go away.......even if they do.

I will read the posts tomorrow as OH wants me to watch something on TV.
.

Frank we only have the children for the day and over night and usually only one at a time ,they only live about five minutes away so any problems or they don't want to stay then we can easily run them home .
It is a shame you don't know where your daughter is but look how Simon is now back in your life so don't ever give up hope .
I take it Simon is not in contact with her either or is it that you haven't brought the subject up with him ?

Mel i've had all the windows open today too ,it's lovely to let in the fresh air ,i just have to remember to shut them well before bed or the room will strike a bit chilly .
Well if OH builds you a new house for the girls you can have it just the way you want it and as you say he can make it easier for you to clean out too.

Poor James must have all sorts going on in his head ,it's not going to be an easy meeting at the weekend by the sound of things ..
Yes Lacey slept well and last night son said she was crying because she wanted to come back to stay over again bless her .

I never got round to clearing the front garden in the end but i did do a little in the back garden ,i hoovered the stairs and looked at the ironing :-D will do that tomorrow and i might have a go at cleaning some windows tomorrow .

AnninG you reminded me when I read your post I have towels on the line too. They are not in the sun as they are uder cover on the east side of the bungalow but they are not bad so mine will only need a quick blow in the dryer too. Some times I forget to bring them in and the dew comes down and makes them wetter than they were when I last felt them earlier on. It makes me so cross.

We have been round at the old chickens house measuring up and tomorrow I shall order the wood needed and that will probable come on Tuesday. Oh is going to make two front doors on the house so its easier for me to clean out without have to go inside the house and bend over like I do now.

I have just had alook at all your lovely pics from this year AnnG. Batsford looked beautiful. Still no Daffs out here. There are a few little buds so fingers crossed it wont be too long before the flower. There is a cracking bunch of Snowdrops right down the bottom of the garden, but we cant see them from the house. I think Chris is going to move some of them once they have finished flowering.

I dont know how that problem can be resolved . I am worried that if they do stay together ,maybe get married it would just end in disaster . I think they both have very different visions of the future .They both love eachother which makes things even harder. A magic wand would be great right now .But they will have to resolve things one way or the other.

Deboned Chicken for us tonight. My fav from Waitrose.
I am looking at a vase of lovely Rainbow Tulips I got in Tesco the other day.I always buy them as they are so bright and colourful and usually last quite a long time.It also make me know spring is really on the way :-D :-D

Jane I couldn't get towels line dried even though they were in the sun. they did partly dry though so didn't take long to finish in the tumble drier.
That is a hard 'difference of opinion' to have, one wanting and one not wanting children. That is so emotive and there is not really a compromise. It reminds me though of when our daughter got divorced from her first husband, they were in their early 20s and had been married 6 years. Although they were still close the main cause was that he wanted children and she definitely didn't. within eighteen months of the divorce she was seeing someone else (and had been for quite a while before we knew!) and was pregnant. She then had three one after the other almost.

Frank OH is 80 and still plays when the weather suits him at least twice a week. He only played 9 holes today but will probably play 18 tomorrow. Mind you the 18 really knocks him out these days. He has played since he was about 33 years old.

Afternoon Everyone
What a lovely day it is. I have the patio door open and the back door .I think though soon I will have to shut them as once the sun starts to go it is going to get chilly.
Its a perfect day AnnG for your OH to have a round of golf. Are you feeling a bit rested now you have had a few hours peace on your own?

Mel I love the Chicken house. It looks just the thing for your Girls :-D

What a dream that was Frank :-0. Birds pecking Maggots out of the leg !!!!. Scampi and Chips sound just the thing. We nearly had that the other night ,but I changed my mind and now I can't remember what we had. Lewis is a typical 21 year old enjoying a good social life :-D :-D. I am sure he will ring soon.

It sounds like the men are getting on well now Gill. 7am is very early to be starting though. Saying that ,the big trucks over the road start around then ,maybe nearer 7.30 but then all we hear is the beep beep beep, and rumbling of all the engines. Sometimes it almost feels like the house is vibrating :-S

Oh little Lacey wanting her Daddy :-(. At least she settled and slept well Mandy. I expect next time she comes to sleep over she will be fine.
I remember years ago Janice and Larry left Matthew with us for a few hours and he went bananas ,screaming and crying and trying to get out to get to his Mum and Dad. We had to lock the doors and take the keys out !!!. It must have taken a good hour before he started to calm down. It was quite a nightmare. I often remind him of that day :-D

I have been out looking for something for Hannahs Birthday.I got a lovely linen blend dress and a wide leg pair of Navy trousers with narrow red and white stripes, and a box of Bath and Body things with 2 fragranced candles. Lovely smell of Jojoba and Almond Milk.

Did you enjoy your Pasty Mel? Trying to make me jealous? :-D..My tum is rumbling like mad here ,but I have just realised I didn't have any lunch.

Frank,James would have a dicky fit LOL if Hannah was to join him and Jess on Saturday .It does seem there are lots of issues needing serious discussions.I know one thing is about having children. James wants(eventually) and Jess doesn't . So this is a very difficult one.

Im going to have ot shut the doors now as it has suddenly got cold in here. The sun has moved around from the patio so is not shining in through the windows. At least I can't see the dust now :-D :-D..
The hoover we have upstairs has packed up .It was not picking anything up and there was a strong burning smell so that will be off to the tip at some point. The cordless one I got a few months ago is hopeless and has rubbish suction .It is really only good on the hard floors. The big heavy pull along one is good but lugging that up and down the stairs is a right pain so Chris has ordered a lighter weight Vax rollerball for upstairs. I think it will be here tomorrow.

I had better get the washing in before it starts to get damp. Fingers crossed everything is dry.

Frank

Frank Report 21 Feb 2019 15:42

Just a COC and hot x bun for lunch here. I think F & C might be the order of the day on Saturday evening Mel. That's something we haven't had for some weeks. Mainly I think because Ros doesn't like fish. ;-) ;-) ;-)

AnninG I use to love my golf when I was younger and able to walk the course. I am left handed, so when I had to pack up golf, I gave my clubs to Lewis my Grandson, who at the time could play left or right handed. I don't think he plays any more. He does hit a few balls around as his dad does the GARDEN including Golf course for Ian Poulter, who has house close by to my son Harvey. Lewis often goes to help him mow the lawns, and finds loads od Golf balls from when Ian is in this Country, which isn't that often, as he mainly lives in the States and travels to tournaments from there.

I sat on the Patio this afternoon reading my book. Very nice in the sun, but not really warm enough to sit around in shirt sleeves, so I didn't stay out there long. Brrrr.

Ros has just washed her hair, so the hair dryer is whirling away. So no peace and quiet for me. lol lol
