Just a look at the Shuffleboard Jane it looks fun ,made me think of the old Shove ha'penny we used to play but on a much smaller scale than the Shuffleboard.

We just posted about the same time there Ann. I didn't realise your Sisters partner was so much younger.Everything must feel all a bit up in the air at the moment for him.
Staring at dead flies LOL that made me laugh but I know just what you mean. Our upside down ceiling lights in the lounge were like that for ages ,but thankfully they aren't clear glass .I could just see little dark shapes. The shades are too heavy for me to take down and they hang on chains.Eventually I managed ot get Chris to get them down for me and oh my word the flies, moths and just dust was horrible. Last week I cleaned the glass shades from the hall and the upstairs landing . It all looks a lot lighter now when they are switched on :-D. Please can I see your coaster? I am looking a vase of dead Irises :-S. Little trip down to the compost heap I think.

Afternoon all,
Not a lot of sun here today and it's quite chilly ,the girls are now coming tomorrow for their sleep over as i was up in the night with a dodgy tummy and feel quite tired ,i need to have had a good nights sleep before they come so i can keep up with them :-D Ann they love making things and cake making ,i think it's the licking out of the bowl at the end they like :-D I wonder some times if we should cut out the bedtime drink as we need the loo in the night and it's after getting out that i some times have trouble dropping off again .
We need to get the cover off our kitchen light as i noticed we had some tiny flies in it ,Colin tends to go in heavy handed some times when doing things and why do they never read the instructions when doing things ,because they think they know how to do it and they don't ,then they moan if they have to do it all again
Jane i hope you have better luck today with the cooker ordering what make did you settle on ?

Back from Currys and the new cooker will be here a week on Monday. All the staff from yesterday were back on duty. They were all fine thank goodness .One of the girls had had to be taken to hospital because of her coughing and she was given steroids and a nebuliser. Frank the thief ,I really hope gets a jail sentence because of using that spray. He deserves to be locked up for sure.
Gill, I bet you will be getting that dust for a while yet which won't be helping with your throat . So it is April now before they can move in and having to deal out more money too. At least he has promised to get your post fixed. They must be at their wits end with it all now.
Ann,I missed your post yesterday about your Sisters Funeral.I wonder if her partner will change the day with it being her birthday.I would be the same as you and say I would be fine with it. 28 days is no time at all to find somwhere new to live and to empty the property . If as you say your Sister was a bit of a hoarder you will be very relieved it is not you who will have to go and sort and clear things. Is Burton on Trent far for you to go?
The weather is quite strange now.One minute it is really dark and then the next thesun is still tyring to get through.Chris has done a lot of cutting back this morning and is now feeling quite pooped . He said he thought he had slept well last night but feels he needs a nap. I actually think although he did sleep it was quite a disturbed sleep as he seemed a bit restless.Maybe to do with my scary experience. I slept like a log :-D
I hope that James and Hannah and the others are having a nice lunch now in London before they go for Shuffleboard in Shoreditch.I must look this up .I think they are having lunch at a Mexican Restaurant .
Frank, have you stopped chucking your pillows about and attacking Ros :-D Sorry it was yet another bad night for you. At least you have some good reading material to get stuck into when you have to get up in the night.

Afternoon All,
Well I had an early night and slept quite well and woke about 7.30am. I must stop or reduce my bedtime drink as it is making me wake for the loo in the night, sometimes twice, which is a pain when you are all comfy!
I was surprised to hear from my friend yesterday that she hadn't even been to collect her glass yet. She is usually excited and quick off the mark. There was no suggestion of any refund, but I think I may enquire, there's nothing to lose.
I expect Lacey will feel better having a sleepover with her sister there the first time Mandy. I wonder what you have planned for them to do? I love all the things you do with the children. It gives them an interest in things like cooking when they have some cakes they have helped make. :-) I bet Max will be pleased to see them as well.
I said to my sister's partner that he might get the tenancy but he didn't think he would want to stay there. I would think the council would have to rehome him if they did evict him as he wouldn't have made himself homeless. He does have a sister, which I didn't know before, and I knew he had a daughter. He's not elderly and would only be in his late 40s now.
I hope you have recovered now Jane! I saw about it on teletext too. This spraying of substances is so frightening after all the acid cases!! Good luck with ordering your cooker! I bet the staff will be twitchy today.
It's always OH's that break these things! I had to stare at dead flies in our porch light for years as OH had screwed it back too tight!! Then last year he had another go at getting it off and succeeded. I think he must have got fed up of looking at the flies himself by then.

Afternoon all,
Sorry Jane I missed the 6.00 pm news. On the 6.30 news we had Blisworth school, The LOLLYPOP LADY has to be paid from money raised by the school, as the local Council have stopped paying.
So pleased that you are safe and sound Jane, what an experience, you never know what's going to happen these days. I expect the bloke will get "A SMACK ON THE WRIST" for trying to steal from Curry's. THE LAW IS A JOKE. :-P :-P :-P
Nice pictures Mel, How old must that tree be. ???I see it's roped off to stop people trying to climb it. I would have been up it as a child, I loved climbing trees. !!!
I see everyone is busy shopping for relatives coming to visit. I hope you all enjoy there company. xxx
Ros is out shopping with Martines, so should bring rolls back with her for lunch.
Not a good night again last night, Awake at 3.30 and barely dozed before getting up at 6.30. I called Ros at 8.45 to give her time to get ready, and fed, before going out at 10.15.
Have been reading most of the morning, I think I have read 15 chapters of this Eastenders crime book this morning. Still got something like 5 hours reading left. There are so many books on AMERZON I doubt I will ever read them all.
Pros is home, so see you later.

I missed your post there Jane. Good luck with your cooker, hope you find the one you want. My throat still feel a bit sore, but I think it's because of all the coughing, rather than anything else. I'm just going to make myself a drink as that helps.

Morning all
Bright and sunny again here and it's lovely and quiet with no workmen. OH spoke with the new owners last night and was told that it's going to be the middle of April now before they can move in. He said they look really down about it. He was also told that the new owners had to pay an extra £5,000 and now they don't have enough money to put the new fence up between us. OH said that was okay so long as they fix the broken concrete post at the end, which the new neighbour said would happen. To be honest we're pleased the fence isn't being replaced as we like the one we paid for last year.
I couldn't get back on here yesterday, kept getting the error page, so I've only just seen your post Jane. What an awful experience for everyone. I'm so pleased you were further away from it all. How are you feeling today? I hope there were no nasty side effects for you and you are over the shock now. Pleased to see the man was arrested. I hope it hasn't put you off going back to buy your cooker. I suppose the shop will be closed while the police do their investigation and the staff put everything back to rights in there.
No Ann, I didn't get the email of your coaster. I didn't mention it earlier as I thought you hadn't sent it yet. Looking forward to seeing it though. What a shame your sister's partner has to move out, that's the last thing he needs right now. Have the council given him some time to move out or does he have to move straight away? You'd think they'd wait until after the funeral before mentioning it. I hope he finds somewhere nice and it's not to much for him, he's going through enough right now without having to find a new place to live as well How are you feeling now, it can't be easy for you either?
OH bought some masks this morning, thanks for all your advice everyone. The only problem is the dust has come indoors through the air vents. We did block them but it was to late, they didn't tell us what they were doing, so by the time we knew the dust has already got in. I've been trying to wipe the dust down but it just seems to come back, so I'm wondering if it's still in the air outside. We've had to unblock the air vents now or we'll end up with damp and one of the rooms is Sandra's bedroom. Cleaning their roof down with the hosepipe seems to have helped, but there is a lot of dust on the floor on their side which is getting blown around each time the wind blows, so I suppose we'll just have to wait for some rain to wash it away. I'm really getting fed up of it now and my chest is so bad, I think I might have to go and see the doctor at some point. The cough medicine helps but isn't get rid of the cough, just calming it down a bit.
How is your hand today Frank, just when you were healing with your ribs you go and injure yourself doing the potatoes. I hope it feels better now. Pleased to see your sister has the carers going in four times a day, that'll be a weight off your mind and knowing she's not alone at night with her sons being there must be a comfort for you.
Hope you manage to find what you are looking for and have the bathroom light sorted soon AnnG, it's not a room you'd like a faulty connection in. Good job he was trying to clean it, or he might not of noticed the fault.
I hope your throat starts to feel better soon Mel, maybe you should have the doctor take a look at it. You have my sympathy I know how horrible it is, especially when it seems to last for a while. I don't think I've seen those boil in the bag meals for a while either, although I haven't been looking for them. I'd forgotten all about them and they were handy to have in for emergencies weren't they? Loved the photo's you sent, what a pretty place to visit.
How lovely to have Katie and Lacey stay over Mandy, it sounds like they're going to have fun at the messy church day on Tuesday.
I've noticed that Ancestry have their records open for free until Monday if anyone's interested. I'm going to take a look today to see if it helps with some of the brick walls I have on my tree.
Going to get a drink I've just had another coughing fit, my ribs are really sore with it now. :-(

Frank, how is your pricked hand? Fancy sticking a skewer through it and TWICE!!!!!
I am going of to Currys again now to have another go at ordering this cooker.I imagine they will be open .
Gill I hope the brick dust has cleared now.It gets everywhere . Is your throat still sore? Mel you have had your sore throat for a while now. You dont think it might be hay fever related. It is that time of year now when I start being a bit affected so I have stocked up with Piriteze. Its 10.50 ! I better get my skates on.

Hope you find a light fitting that suits you're requirments. We had a job finding a bathroom light when ours broke, or should I say when oh broke it.
Cloudy here this morning which is'nt nice after the last few days of sunshine you get to expect it.
Hope Gill feels better today. I still have this raw throat and I think I shall have to go to the docs with it.
Egg delivery this morning and the shop for the paper.
How did you sleep Frank and Ann?

Good morning all, a fairly bright, sometimes sunny, morning here. We have to go to B&Q :-( for a ceiling light fitting. OH in his wisdom wanted to clean the shade in the bathroom and since trying unsuccessfully to unscrew it and remove the bulb the connection is faulty and the light keeps going out.
I also need some bits from Tesco to take us over Tuesday when daughter is coming for the night. Be back later. Hope you all have a good day.

I thought Ann's coster was nice and you could see they were snowdrops. Its a shame they moved a bit as I know Ann would have done them better than that but I like it that way. Modern art glass. :-D :-D
I watched Mrs Brown tonight which is unusual for me and it made me laugh!!!!!
I tell you what you don't see now from the 70s and 80s, boil in the bag meals. There used to be a chicken and mushroom casserole and minced beef casserole with dumplings as well as the cod in butter sauce etc. Do they still do the cod in sauce? I suppose because not many people had microwaves then. Mum bought her first microwave to defrost the dogs meat!!!!!!!
I will send more pics but the pc played up saying I could'nt send the emails as I had no internet connection but the pc was working ok otherwise and it had'nt gone out as I have the thingy here in the kitchen and could see the blue light was on ok.
We had grilled lamb chops with carrots, purple brocc and I did jacket tatoes stuffed with onion and cheese and oh had a bit of yellow pepper with his but I don't like peppers.

Good evening everyone
Oh Jane what a frightening experience not something to expect when buying a cooker, pleased that you got home safely and the culprit was caught. Just looked it up on the Northampton news and it shows photos and a report of the incident
Our internet has been down all day and only came back about 5.30pm. Yesterday all I kept getting was the error message.
Mel those photos of Rosemoor are very pretty and spring like. Is it very far from where you live?
Mandy your grandchildren must look forward to staying with you which is lovely. I use to enjoy having Abbie and Becky staying over when they were younger but that doesn't happen much these days.
Ann I feel sorry for your sister's partner having to move out of his home as it was in her name, not nice to have to sort out her things when he has only just lost her. does he have anywhere else to go?
Frank hope your hand has stopped bleeding and doesn't cause you anymore grief.
That was kind of Julia offering to buy you an induction hob, I wouldn't want to change mine now but the downside is you may have to buy all new saucepans as not many are compatible with these hobs.

Evening all,
Goodness Jane thank heavens your ok ,what a blessing you were further back in the store ,we've heard so much lately about Acid being thrown i would have been scared stiff You were lucky you could drive home after a shock like that ,you might want some thing a little stronger than your wine :-D I bet Chris was shocked when you told him .
What a lovely day it's been, we actually sat out this afternoon and had a cuppa although i did have my jacket on but the sun was so warm on your face .
Sounds as if you had a really lovely day yesterday Mel ,it looks really pretty there looking at your photo's
Gill i'd try and keep in while the builders are working and making so much dust outside ,i hope you soon feel better ,have plenty of drink to keep your throat lubricated .
Frank what are you like just as your drain hole is healing you puncture your hand !! :-0 hope the bleeding soon stopped . Hotel Chocolate is nice chocolate i use to have the Tasting boxes you could pick which ones you wanted each month .
Ann your coaster hasn't turned out to bad has it ,you can see what it's meant to be with the Snow drops . Did the teacher say if you could do it again ? So your sisters partner has to move out ,poor chap just lost his partner and now his home .
Tomorrow we're having Katie and Lacey for the day and sleep over ,this will be the first time Lacey has stayed so we thought she might feel better with her sister here too . As it's half term next week we're off into the church on Tuesday morning ,it's Messy Church day and they do all sorts of things games ,crafts and Hot Dogs at the end for all the children .

What a shock that must have been Jane! I'm glad you were ok. Someone did well to pin the man down outside as you never know what might happen these days with knives and sprays. Thank goodness it wasn't worse. No wonder you are all of a dither.
Gill I meant to say I had set you a pic of the coaster I made. Did you get it?
Oh I missed that post of Jane's Mel! It was good you managed to get some better bulbs in the Bargain Shop. It's surprising what you find in those places sometimes.
One of the ladies this morning made us laugh. She was having her hair done at the hairdressers yesterday when her man friend walked in with a single red rose. She said it was the first time in her life she'd been given a red rose on Valentine's Day. We were all saying how nice that was when she added 'even though it was plastic and lit up'. :-D

At least they have arrested the man and he is locked up for now. I stripped off when I got home and put a change of clothes on . I do think wearing glasses helped my eyes not really being affected even though they were a bit itchy.
I need to think about dinner, but think Im might just have a nice large glass of wine first :-D

A man has been arrested after a several shoppers were sprayed with an "unknown substance" at Currys PC World.
Emergency services were called to the store, in Northfield Avenue, Kettering, at about 15:45 GMT when "a number of people" reported suffering "irritation to the face".
Paramedics treated those affected at the scene. The substance has since been found to be non-hazardous.
Anyone who saw what happened should contact Northamptonshire Police.

I am here Mel.. But oh boy have I had an experience this afternoon. I am all of a hoo ha so will just say quicklywhat has happened. FRANK,listen to the 6 oclock news on Northampton Radio !!!!!!
I was in Currys on Northfield Avenue jusyt about to order a cooker and then all hell let loose.I heard a cuffule going on by the main door and there was a black man being tackled by a member of staff. The chap had 2 large boxes under his arms. The next thing is this man sprayed something in the staffs face and then sprayed a few more times into the air. Within seconds we were all coughing and those who had got sprayed or were very near had painful streaming eyes.Luckily I was further down the shop but it still affected me. Some staff atrated to run towards the door but I shouted to say to stay as far away as possible because of the spray. I rang 999 and while I was on the phone someone said the chap was pinned down outside. But the operator still wanted me to say what I had seen and a discription of the man. With in minutes every police car in the area must have arrived ,plus fire engine ,incident vans and ambulance.People were having their eyes washed out and water poured over them . Clothes were taken off people and put into plastic bags, and had blankets put around them . They must have been freezing as we werent allowed back in the shop. Bottles of water were given out from one of the other shops for those of us coughing. We were put into 2 groups .Those who needed immediate medical checks and others not so badly affected. I decided that I was was fine and that I need not be seen as if I have anty after effects then Chris would know and make me get checked out. So the Police lifted the cordon tape to let me out of the car park and here I am :-D
What a blooming afternoon!!!!!!! :-0 :-0 :-0. I never did get to order the cooker :-S
Mel I am glad you had a wonderful day yesterday and yes I will thank Hannah for you for the card. Its lovely isnt it.
Might be back later. I need ot chill out a bit.

Ann she posted yesterday morning to wish me a happy birthday.
Back from Holsworthy with the T plates and the chickens food and I bought some wild bird food in Mole Valley too as I have'nt been able to get my fat blocks for the birds in Morrisons for a couple of weeks.
Went into the town and posted my licience again. I had missed out a question so they sent the lot back to me and told me to put the right postage on it. I did the form and when I went in the post office I had the thing weighed and it had their extra letter in it too and he said it would be first class 67p. When I posted it the first time I put two first class stamps on it to make sure it was ok!! I had it tracked this time and it cost me £6 something but t least I know it will get there now as it has my old licience in it and my pension details.
The new shop is open in Holsworthy but its is'nt a Pound Shop as they told me but a Bargain Shop. Anyway I stuck my nose in to have a look at what they have and they have just about everything and its all much cheaper and there are brand names too. I did buy three new solar lights to put where I feed the hedgehogs as the old ones don't give enough light. I have been looking for this sort that throws the light downwards for a long while. The last lot I bought did'nt work properly so they will all be chucked out now I have the new ones and they should last longer as the pthers were only small so probably had small batteries in them.
They only had the Dawn Chorus fat blocks in there too and fat balls without nets like I also bought in Mole Valley for a lot more than the price of them in the neew shop.
I'll never learn.........................If I had posted my letter first and then looked in the new shop I would'nt have had to buy things in Mole Valley for more.
