<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL <3 <3 <3 Have a lovely time out, pleased to see the weather is nice.

It's lovely and sunny here today and quite warm with it. Unfortunately the roofers are back with their loud radio and now they're shouting to each other what items they need next to do the roof with. They said it would be finished today, but we've heard this before. Time will tell I suppose.

Sorry to hear the little boy died Mandy, how sad for everyone.

So you think the people you saw might of been the ones stealing the lead off the church roof. Maybe you should give the van number to the police Ann. I'd like to see a pic of your glass if you take one. Good idea of Mandy's to put some beads in the next ones, I think that would look nice.

Afternoon all,

What a beautiful day it is ,lovely blue sky and quite warm in the sun .

What a shame about your glass Ann but at least you did manage to get your coaster ,i don't know much about what you do with the resin ,is it a liquid that just sets ?
Could you put some of your beads in the resin ? although i should imagine you have to heat the resin and that might affect the beads ?
But if they did melt in it they might look quite pretty .
That was nice being able to look round the church and getting some of the history from the lady in there and good you got the registration no of the van especially as the lead has been taken twice already .

Sad news this morning the little boy who turned the towns christmas lights on died early this morning ,bless him he was only four .

Afternoon All,

:-D :-D <3 <3HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL <3 <3 :-D :-D

Hope you have a great birthday! The sun is shining here so I hope it's the same for you!

We ended up having a breakfast at the garden centre down the road this morning which was nice. I went to take photos at the church where there was the bonfire last time then. A lady came to change the church flowers and let me in the church to look around and told me some of the history. She said scaffolders were coming later to repair the roof after the lead had been stolen! I was only hearing on the radio a few days ago how 2 Rutland churches had had their roofs stripped. I then had to hurry home to put OH's drops in his eye before he set off for Rutland.
Strangely enough we saw men loading lead into a white van at our church in the village yesterday. It's had the lead stolen twice in recent times and I said to OH that in the day you would just assume it was people working on the roof. I made a note of their registration no just in case!!

Having a COT now before deciding what to do next.

Have PM'd you Jane.

Gill and AnnG, your gardens must be looking better after a tidy up. It's nice when you can see the impact you have made.

My face had gone back to winter pasty colour after the weekend Mandy. I think a headache was one of the side effects too but that seems to have gone as well now. It was great being able to stand up after the film without any stiffness. :-) I had a chuckle at the thought of Mel and her OH with 'L plates on'. LOL.

Oh dear poor James Jane. It isn't a nice position for him to be in and awful to be in that sort of environment, but I think Chris's advice is very wise! In a public organisation these things happen, but less I think as everyone is accountable to someone higher up than themselves, but not so in a private organisation. If I were him I would think about the reference he will need for another job and what he can do now to make sure it's as good one as possible. He will have gained lots of experience and plenty of portable skills for other jobs now, so he should add them all to his CV if he hasn't already. I hope Hannah doesn't have to wait long. The waiting doesn't help at all. Poor old Thomas sounds like he was nearly in a punch up! I wonder where the other cat had come from? I would love to have seen you in your 'baby doll' in the front garden!!! LOL. :-D

The glass was as expected! The lady had to mix everyone's glass up to get it on the shelves of her own kiln, so although I was there early it took a while to pick some of mine out. The little squares we did weren't very good and the only thing I liked was my coaster which I will probably frame. I'll send a pic tomorrow. I quite like the idea of the small decorated squares, but instead of glass I might try them in some clear resin. In a few months time there will be forget me nots, bits of fern and lavender I could set into the resin in moulds.

Gill I think Sandra would love the magic Faraway tree. I did..

Anne yes we have much later starts these days too. That is what being retired is all about.
Jane, sorry you have had a bad day, lack of sleep is horrible. It sound as if James is so good at his job that his manager feels threatened. Maybe she knows he could easily do her job. Chris is right. Much better to keep his head down and look for another job.

I have a lovely bouquet of flowers for Valentine Day :-D

Good evening all

Sorry to hear you have been feeling down today Jane but it's understandable, is there someone senior that James can have a word with about his line manager? I do hope Hannah's results put your mind at rest and hers .

I like the photo of your Bunty annual, much too late for me of course, Mark was born in 1963 ,Paul, in 1966 and Richard in 1967, I have an annual in perfect condition that was one of my Aunts from the 1920's.

I was an avid reader of Enid Blyton when I was young, I grew up with books and read most of Charles Dicken's books which we had at home.I used to borrow library books as well

Gill have you tried Amazon for Enid Blyton books they sometimes have good quality second hand books on their website.

That's good that you had a good night's sleep Frank it does make a difference to how you feel next day.

Evening all,

Mel i hope it's a lovely day tomorrow for your visit to Rosemoor ,it will be nice for you to go out together and enjoy a birthday lunch ,the buggies sound just the job to get you around ,will you need some L plates :-D

Gill , Mallory Towers is about a girls boarding school i'm sure Sandra would love them ,she might like The Magic Faraway Tree books too with Moon Face ,Silky the fairy and Saucepan Man :-D

You sound much chirpier today Frank ,hope you've enjoyed your meal .

Ann i hope some of your glass will be ok for you after all the hard work on them
Sounds as if the Film today wasn't one of the best you've seen .
Was a headache another side affect of the injection ? has the redness on your face eased ?

Sounds as if your like us AnnG we go shopping and it's nearly always lunch time by the time we get back ,mind you we don't seem to go as early as we use too.

Oh Jane yes i remember The Bunty :-D 1966 i was 11 :-D
Poor James i thought maybe things had settled down a bit with his work as you hadn't mentioned about him looking for a new job lately .
Do you know when Hannah will have her results of her scan ?

Jane Report 13 Feb 2019 18:51

Evening All
Thanks for the offer of trying my pic and thanks to everyone who has helped with advice as how to do this. I am so cheesed off with it I am going to leave it for a few days.I have not really been in the right frame of mind today. I had rotten night waking and then Thomas and another cat had a fight at 5am so I was out the front in my nightie trying to.get thomas in . I knew he was somewhere either behind or under my car as i could hear him huffing. He did slink in but was all twitchy and looking for this other cat .
Then last night James came in from work in a bit of a state . Things are going from bad to worse there and he reckons he is being pushed out by the Boss. She is not prepare to listen to any new ideas and James thinks she feels her power/control is being threatened. She has taken away some of the work from James he has been doing so I feel it must be like a kick in the teeth for him . This is here way of wearing someone down and we know she has done this before with other employees. It is a really horrible thing she is doing as James has been a really good worker and has done over and above what a lot of people would do. He had a very very long chat last night and was up for having a meeting with the Boss today . Chris I think very sensibly suggested he just does his work ,keeps his head down and really concentrates now on finding a new job. So that has been on my mind today ,plus Hannah and her lump under her arm. So all in all I have just felt a bit of a wreck today.
Sorry if I sound a bit grump.
Tomorrow is a new day :-D. Chris and i arw going down to Fitz for lunch so that will be nice. Chris says I have to speak to works and pension people in the morning on hte phone !!!. I am not quite sure why (although I know he told me why ages ago LOL ) He will go through it with me in the morning!!.

Ann, I thought the film would have been a bit 'rude' ;-). I can understand though it was rather unfortunate about the ulcerated legs that would have been so similar to your sister. Bit of bad timing there :-(. I would like to see the film as I think Olivia Coleman is brilliant.

Frank, no I haven't thought any more about those Pasties yet. I have no room in my freezer for one thing!. They will take up a fair bit of space. Are you still thinking of getting some? Go for it :-D :-D. As long as they are still as good as I remember you should love them :-D
I don't really fancy anything much to eat tonight,so I think it might just be soup . Chris and James can have a Quick Curry I have done. Bought Onion Bahjis and Pilau Rice.

I have been looking at places to have a weeks hols in the spring and am thinking North Yorkshire . Somewhere we haven't been before.

I will be back tomorrow hopefully a bit more cheerful :-D

I think I left school in 1966. Worked in the Wanstead Bowling Alley voluntaryly for three weeks and then started work. All my friends went in the bowling alley so it was nice to see them all.

Dos'nt sound like you enjoyed that film much Ann. I know I would'nt. I can stand things with lots of swearing in if its bad swearing.

I have some mince out of the freezer but not sure what to cook it with??????? I'd like to do a spag bol but not sure if I have spaghetti in the freezer. I suppose I shall have to disappear in it and have a good rumage. We both like fresh pasta but I suppose if not I have some dried mixed spaghetti.

Just noticed your post there Ann G. Yes I'm the baby of the group :-) :-)

How are you getting on transferring your photo's over, it sounds a big job?

It's a nice feeling when the gardens are tidy isn't it? I've just had another look around and the wind has blown most of the dust away so it's not as bad now. It's saved me having to hose everywhere down. The workmen are packing up for the day so OH will move the car back onto the drive shortly and we'll settle down for the evening.

They covered a lot on eating habits Ann, it must of been very interesting. I don't eat breakfast, haven't done since I left home at 17, sometimes I don't have lunch at lunch time either if I'm busy and lose track of time. I've never been a big eater but do have an evening meal, most days, the only time I don't have an evening meal is if I've had a late lunch. I'm a night owl and an early riser, so as you can see I don't sleep much either. I'm pretty much on the go all the time. Every now and then I'll feel very tired and go to bed early, mum used to say it was me recharging my batteries as I wouldn't require another early night for a very long time. I've always been the same, I love early mornings, especially in the summer, where I can sit outside with a cuppa before everyone else gets up and just listen to the birds before all the hustle and bustle of the day begins for everyone.....it's so peaceful and then in the evenings I watch TV where I'll catch up on a few programmes I've recorded after watching the soaps. I think I got into this routine from my early adulthood and it just stuck with me.

Sounds as though it was an interesting talk/discussion Ann.
Yes I have heard various comments about the film, either people really liked it or hated it.

OH didn't cut the lawn he cleared up the front garden. I was busy transferring my considerable number of photos from my old PC to this one. Still haven't dome them all.

Gill, what a nuisance the brick dust must be.

I feel old now as you are 5 years younger than my eldest and a year older than my youngest!!!

Frank, sounds as if you have an appetitie back again that is good.

Annx Report 13 Feb 2019 16:12

What a strange film it was but I can see why Olivia Coleman won so many awards. It was a bit too close to home with seeing so much about her ulcerated legs like my sister had and there was swearing (mostly the ladies) and sex kept popping up so you will want to give it a miss when it's on the telly Mel. :-)

We need to pop out now and get OH some change for his parking tomorrow. I took all of his yesterday to park at the hospital! The discussion we had there was to do with eating patterns and effects of things like shift working, family habits and upbringing, partners' influence when we live together. Also who ate breakfast and why some did and others didn't. Did morning people and night owls have different patterns and did taking medication affect eating patterns? That's just a flavour.

Our garden is now covered in brick dust, the workmen are cutting into the brickwork where the bungalow meets the new extension and what a mess it's made. We've had to block a couple of air vents to prevent the dust getting in doors. I wish they'd told us they were doing it so we could of blocked the air vents before the work started. Sandra's bed is underneath an air vent and I only washed her bedding yesterday. It looks okay thankfully, but that's besides the point isn't it? It wouldn't of taken them a couple of minutes to let us know what they were about to do.
I'm going to get the hose pipe out later and wash the plants and patio down.

All this dust isn't helping my cough I can tell you and now I've started sneezing as well, as if my nose wasn't running enough.

It's no joke is it Mel, when you cough so much your throat hurts, I hope your's feels better soon and you haven't got sore ribs to, like me.

Our grass is a bit to wet to cut AnnG, although it could do with a good cut, but will have to wait for now. Hope the weather is nice for your trip to Batsford Arboretum tomorrow, it sounds like a nice place to visit. Yes, our garden did look nice, now it looks like a sand storm has hit the place with all the brick dust everywhere. Never mind I'm sure it'll look nice again later after I've washed it all down with the hosepipe.

Love the book pic you sent Jane, it's like a comic. Was 1966 a special year for you?
It was for me it was the YEAR I WAS BORN lol ;-) ;-) :-D :-D
