Afternoon All,

Frank my sister had been in hospital several times recently on antibiotics with infected legs. They were waiting for the infection to clear up so they could clear the veins to improve the circulation. I'm sorry to hear Ros's back is causing her so much pain and fancy your doctor not being there when she'd told you to see her this morning. Good news on the Lab though. It must be a weight off their minds.

I went to the hospital meeting this morning, but the traffic with all the roadworks was queuing for ages in places. I got there in time though and it was a good talk about what affects our eating habits, good and bad!

My car looks the dirtiest it's ever been just now so I must take it up to the village car wash. One of my chores aged 17 was to wash dad's car and the little van on Sunday mornings!

Gill, thanks for the reminder, I must record THe Sewing Bee! I'm glad you are feeling more human now, and doing your tree will give you some rest in the warm. I'm not very good at sticking to one bit of my tree as I get bored and start flitting onto another bit! Then I never know where I've got to and it's my own fault! :-0 It's good Sandra is enjoying those books. Does she like jigsaws as well?

Lewis is funny isn't he Mandy.........I like the idea of icecream juice! It's funny him knowing about knocking glasses together as well. He obviously doesn't miss much! lol.

Hope you get all your shopping Mel and that the staple gun had been out while you were at the shops.

Jane

Jane Report 12 Feb 2019 17:28

Ice cream juice especially with chocolate sauce is GOOD :-D. Chinking glasses and saying Cheers too. Little Lewis is on the ball Mandy :-D :-D

Frank I am so glad that things are looking positive for Simon and Sally's dog.I hope he is going to be well now for a long time.
Hope you manage to get your sample in for tomorrow . I am sorry that Ros's back is playing up again .If she eases up on what she is doing does it make it easier ?

I still love and remember so well the Secret Seven and The Famous Five. They were just the best books in my childhood. There is just something special about those stories . I bought a Famous Five book from a second hand book stall on the South Bank in London a couple of years ago. I think I said that Hannah and Gareth bought everyone of their wedding guests a book that reminded them of them . They bought 62 books !!!! That was quite a feat!. My book was a Bunty Annual 1966:-D :-D. I love it. 'Toots' was my favourite

My day was cut short.I was out this morning to visit the Medical Centre to check meds I had booked on line .I booked two different tablets on line but only one showed up . Got that sorted and then went to Lidl , Dunelm and Currys . I just got home when Fitz turned up. I hadn't even unpacked my shopping .I had plans to do some sorting out as Chris was out for lunch with his old work friend Sue. So that all came to a halt and I cut some fresh bread just bought and some Paté and opened a bottle of wine. I knew Fitz wouldn't turn any of that down :-D :-D So today has gone and I have got nothing done :-S

Chris and I have spent the last hour still trying to change my pic !!!!. Nothing works.
I am going to ask on new thread just to see if there are any other ideas as to how I can do this.I don't want to remain a shadow man :-|

We didn't have any more plans for today Mel but OH spent a lot of time out in the garden tidying things up and cutting things back. I have been messing about in my craft room not doing a lot really.

Mandy, pleased that you enjoyed your birthday meal. little ones do say some funny things don't they.

Frank good for you asking for the blood test and how could the doctor 'forget' she was not in work this morning> Unless she was unwell. Hope the blood test solves any problems for you. Sorry to hear about Ros's back, it can be the wost sort of pain, I suffer with my back as well as sciatica in my legs.

Gill, I suppose if the builders are working with no boss on site they will take advantage. Presumably they are paid by the hour! At least they say they will cover the fence to guard against splashing.
When is Sandra's birthday? If she enjoyed the Secret Seven she will love the Famous Five series. I can remember the excitement of getting the next book in the series. I loved bith the Famous five and The Secret Seven.

How are you today Ann after the news of your sister? I've been thinking of you and hope you are okay <3

Loved the comment little Lewis made Mandy about his ice cream juice, he's quite a character isn't he? Yes, I wonder where he learnt to knock the glasses together, it's surprising how much children take in from watching and listening to adults isn't it?

Pleased to hear Simon's dog's operation went well Frank, that must be a relief for everyone. It must of been quite a worrying time for a while.
Fancy the doctor not being there when you arrived Frank. You were crafty getting the blood test done, but if it tells you what is wrong then that'll be a good thing. Sorry to hear about Ros, hope she starts to feel better soon.

Shopping day again I see Mel, they do come around quickly don't they? We don't have a set day for shopping but you can guarantee the day after we do the shop Tesco's will send the money off vouchers, it happens most of the time and today was no different. Shopping done yesterday, vouchers arrive today. So they'll be used next week now.

So your car is nice and clean now AnnG, Ours needs a good clean, along with all the fascia boards and windows on the bungalow, but there's no point in doing any of them at the moment with all the dust and dirt from next door. OH did clean the car the other day but it was mucky again within a few hours, so that was a waste of time.
How nice to buy your great granddaughter a few things.

I bought the famous five books for Sandra for her birthday the other day. I'd bought her the secret seven for Christmas and she really loves them. There are 10 books in each box and she's up to number 6 on the Secret Seven already. Hopefully she'll enjoy the famous five just as much.

I've been told the rendering isn't being done until next week now, but they did say they were putting some plastic up over our fence to stop any splashes so that's good. They have made a start on putting plastic up over the new windows and some tape along the edge of the new fascia boards, but we're disappointed they're not doing the rendering today like the boss said was going to be done. The roofer hasn't turned up either, so we're not sure when that's going to be finished. They are very slow and spent most of the morning laughing and joking with each other, it's no wonder jobs are progressing slowly.

Afternoon all,

Nice sunny day here after a frosty start but still a bit chilly though

We had a nice meal yesterday and as we were all to full when we got home we didn't have the cake ,they did sing happy birthday though and they are coming back tonight to have the cake
Little Lewis is so funny ,for his pudding he had warm brownie with ice cream , he had nearly finished and i asked him if it was good ," yes Nanny it is but it's not what i ordered i wanted ice cream with chocolate sauce " :-D then he said " oh i've got some ice cream juice left " he meant the melted ice cream :-D
When everyone raised their glasses to wish me Happy birthday he turned to his Mummy and said " Mummy i want to knock the glasses together to say cheers "
Both son and DIL looked at each other and said where did he get that from LOL

Glad your feeling a bit more human now Gill ,your garden is going to look a picture when all your bulbs start to flower .
I wonder if there will be much mess when they start to spray the rendering .
Yes looking forward to the Sewing Bee tonight ..

Shopping day again Mel they just keep coming round don't they .

Frank they must be over the moon with the good news on the Lab's operation.
Fancy the doctor not being there ,at least you've got the blood test done and by taking in a water sample perhaps they will be able to get you sorted out soon

Frank Report 12 Feb 2019 13:25

Good afternoon to you all,

Ann, So sorry to hear your news about your sister. Had she been ill recently ?? You are bound to be shocked, as are we all when it happens. There is only my Sister and I left out of 10. I think about that story of 10 LITTLE N@@@@@ BOYS. and there was two.

Thinking of which I still haven't heard where my sister is, or how she is. I rang my SIL and she promised to let me know what's going on, typical IF I DON'T RING, they don't ring me.

I managed to sleep for 5 hours last night, and I had toast and marmalade for breakfast. Just had a coffee, but nothing to eat. I want to be able to eat something this evening with Ros.

Certainly not as cold this morning, and it's getting warmer by day later this week. We had a good frost this morning, to wake up to.

Heard from Simon last night. The operation on the dog, was a complete success from what the vet says. Just a matter of keeping an eye on his recovery. So not all doom and gloom

I dispart with my DOCTORS. After yesterday, the Doctor told me SHE WANTED TO SEE ME THIS MORNING. When I got there, she's not on duty, and the doctor I saw knew nothing about the talk we had. So I ended up seeing the nurse to have my dressing changed, and having a blood test, (I lied, and said the doctor wanted one doing.) They wanted a water sample, BUT I COULDN'T OBLIGE. I will send one tomorrow morning. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Now that the Village has no PUB. The football Club is opening from 5.30 until 10.00 pm for the locals, who want a drink. It can only be good for the clubs funds, and a service to the village. So as I haven't benign a pub since before last November, I might get Ros to pop me up there tonight as there is a MATCH on T.V. that I would like to watch, and of course have a pint or three. lol lol.

Ros is suffering with her back again. There is nothing they can do anymore, so she just has to GRIM AND BARE IT. Poor girl, keep taking the tablets, which seems to help most of the time. It upsets me, to see her dragging herself around the bungalow in pain. But, there is nothing I can do, but try to make her rest when she can.

I was looking at flowers on line, to give Ros. a treat. BUT when I saw the price they want, for next to nothing, in the way of blooms and greenery. They can keep them. I will go into Town with her later in the week and go to a florists and get some, that are worth the money. I'm not tight, but I won't waste money, for the sake of it. !!!!

Hope you are all pleased with your various family results, health wise. Take care all of you. xxxxx

A bit grey here and not very pleasant but a bit warmer than it has been and still dry!

We went to the Range for coffee then picked up some bits for great granddaughter to play with next weekend when they stay here for two nights. Nothing expensive she is two years and eight months so doesn't have a very long attention span! Then we called in to B&M and got a few bits.

OH washed the car when we got back and I have just beed fiddling around doing nothing really. :-D

Morning Gill and all,

Cloudy this orning and there was a frost last night. It dos'nt ook very warm out there but I hav'nr been out yet. Oh has as its dry he's been doing something outside if only sawing up wood. I hav'nt heard the staplel gun going so he was'nt putting the wire on the frames.

He did'nt have the heating on when I got up saying it was'nt that cold but I wanted it on for a little while just to warm the air up a bit inside. Sometimes in here it feels colder in than it does out!

Ann your sisters family must be so shocked too. I was'nt sure if she had a partner or not or any children. She was certainly young for something like that to happen and thats two now that we have heard of in a short space of time.

She's so right lol :-D :-D :-D

Morning all

Overcast here today but quite warm for this time of year. Lot's of workmen around but so far no work being done, that we can see. The rendering is suppose to be done today, so hopefully the big brick wall we can see from our kitchen window will look slightly better soon.

Yes, I should have lots of colour soon Ann. I got carried away buying bulbs last year, I even put some in the two new planters we bought, the ones we put in the front garden, so hopefully we'll have plenty of colour all around both front and back gardens soon.

I didn't know you could buy striped Camellias, I've just got pink and red ones, although we did noticed that when we took some out of the ground and put them in pots they didn't look as good as those left in the ground, they lost quite a few of their leaves so don't look as bushy, luckily they still flower though, so that's good.
Our winter cherry was doing well with lots of pink blossom all over winter but that's starting to fade now. We took it out of the ground last year so I was surprised to see any blossom on it a year later. It flowered better than it ever did in ground, so I was pleased with that.

I'm starting to feel more human now, I just have a niggly cough and a bit of a runny nose, but hopefully that's go soon.
I might take another look at my family tree, I've been checking it against a tree match and I'm almost finished, so hopefully I'll have it all checked by the end of the day. I've been on this part of my family for months now and to be honest I'm getting a bit fed up of it, so I'll be pleased when it's all finished, then I can move onto another part of my tree I have a brick wall with.

Thank you for your kind thoughts everyone and it's true we had a shared history even though we only met up occasionally in latter years. I always thought it would be she that would come to my funeral not this way around. She was only 62 had a much younger partner Mel and she has 2 sons in their 30s and a grandson aged 6.

The reason OH was not given a hospital prescription at first Mel was because the hospital pharmacy was closed. When he went back this morning they just replaced it with another green one. The second time he went back he insisted they give him the white hospital pharmacy one.

You have done well to get those good blood results AnnG. I am creeping up on the blood sugar one so I'm hoping losing weight for my knees will help with mine.

I was going to go to the meeting at the diabetes research unit tomorrow now my knees are easier and OH says I should still go. It's all about diets and your body clock so should be interesting.

I must see if my Camellias are getting ready to flower. I have three in pink, red and one striped red and white. Sadly they aren't in enough shade and the sun always spoils the flowers.

Gill your garden is going to be a blaze of colour soon!

So sorry to hear about your sister Ann, what a shock for you. It sounds like you've had a right day of it today, I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

How's your indigestion now Frank? Maybe you should try the medicine Mel suggested.

What a relief having all your test results come back okay AnninG, you had a fair few of them didn't you.

How lovely to have a family birthday meal and then home for some birthday cake Mandy.
Do you have chocolate cake, that's Sandra's favourite?

I had a look around our back garden earlier and noticed a lot of bulbs were starting to grow through the covers I made for the pots, they are made from netting so the light and rain can get through, so all the covers have now been taken off and the pots moved around to give them more light. I noticed that my Camellia's have lots of buds on them like Mel's and also a Camellia cutting I took a few years ago has really grown and will need re-potting in the spring. So it looks like I'll have a nice array of colour in the garden soon. I can't wait to see all the bulbs bloom, they took me ages to plant them last year, I think I went a bit mad though as I bought around 500 of them, some in pots in the back garden and the rest planted in the ground in the front.

Ann x so sorry to hear about your sister, a terrible shock for you no matter how close or not close you were. Are you next of kin? If so a busy time for you. Or maybe she had children.

How annoying that none of the other pharmacies thought to mention or didn’t know there was a problem with the medication.

So sorry to hear about your sister Ann, as she was younger than you she was of no age to die like that.no wonder you are in shock

Not surprising your OH is worn out with all the chasing around to get his prescription and so worrying when none of the chemists had it in stock, you would have thought the hospital was aware there was a distribution problem.

Good news about your blood test AnnG it's so reassuring to hear that all is ok.

Please accept my condolences <3. I wonder if it was Sepsis? Today has been one heck of a day for you both what with that sad news and then the craziness and run around of trying to get OH's Eye Drops.

Yes Frank do ask tomorrow if you can be given
Omeprozole. It will do the job better than your Gaviscon.

Annx Report 11 Feb 2019 17:20

<3 <3 :-D HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY :-D <3 <3 It sounded like you had a nice day planned and I hope you had a nice meal.

Well what a day we have had. This morning we went to Boots to get OH's prescription and he was told they hadn't got the medication he needed. Then we tried the pharmacy at Asda and they hadn't got it either but suggested we try Patel's Chemists near the city. Off we went there and paid parking but still no medication! Off we went back to the hospital again and OH said eye casualty was packed to the gills with no seats left and about 20 people standing and waiting. He eventually got to see a doctor who gave him a different prescription. Off we went again and tried Boots and Asda, then Lloyds and Lloyds told OH that the doctor had put the same medication down again but just with a different generic name. They said a small village pharmacy might have some, so we tried in the village and were told there that there was a manufacturing problem with the medication and we wouldn't be able to get it anywhere!! We'd been out trying to get some since before 8.00am and it was gone 1.00pm by then so we went home to grab a snack and to collect my car so I could drop OH back at the hospital to save a second lot of parking charges. Poor OH was at his wit's end by this point, as his eye condition is considered a medical emergency, and 30 hours since the hospital had seen him he still hadn't got any medication. I dropped him off again and waited at Morrisons which is nearby. After a long wait at last they were able to prescribe something else but seemed oblivious to the fact there is a manufacturing problem with what they had prescribed before. OH also insisted they give him a white prescription this time so he could go to the hospital pharmacy. He's absolutely shattered with all the worry and racing about and walking and waiting. He said we are turning into a 3rd world country and if this is what it is like before Brexit!!!

Before all this I had a phone call first thing this morning with some shocking news I still can't quite take in. My sister didn't wake up this morning. It seems she was at home and not on antibiotics in hospital anymore. We were so unalike and not close but it is still very sad as she was 9 years younger than me and I remember feeding her and changing her nappies when she was a baby. I expect we will get to know more once they know what happened.
