As the pork joint was so big (for 2 of us) we have cold pork and oven chips tonight. The pork was lovely and tender so will be nice cold. And I think there will be enough over either for sandwiches or curry. I remember when it was wrong to re-heat pork but looking on the internet apparently it is ok now. I think I read somewhere it is because of the way they are fed.
Hope you are not going to be overun with rabbits Mel, deer are lovely but you forfeit your garden if you have them.

All good news then AnninG. My budlia needs cutting down too and so does evrything else up the border but with the deer coming in the garden I have lost heart a bit with the border cos they eat everything.
I spied a BIG bunny out in the back field when I changed the solar lights round this afternoon. I do hope I am not going to have that trouble again.
Done the big bathroom instead of the little loo and have helped oh a couple of times and I have done some ironing. Oh is in now as the suns gone round and he was feeling chilly so he came in and I turned the heating on.
The next job is to corn the chickens and then fill both our pill trays up.
I have a peice of gammon for dinner and must put that on too. A nice big cauli for cauli cheese to go with it.

Afternoon all. Frank if you have not always suffered with indigestion the medication you have could also be cause the indigestion.
It has been a glorious sunny day here and OH has pruned our buddleias right back. As we usually do in February.Walking round the garden this afternoon it was quite warm in the sun.
I had a doctor's appointment to discuss the results of my recent blood test and was pleased to hear that everything was fine and blood sugar had actually gone down but was still just about borderline. The ECG I had at the same time was also fine and, despite the palpitations I have had he said my heart is healthy. So that is all good then and the low sugar diet I am following is working. :-D

Just been down the garden, I can see we will need BARRY over soon. Everywhere is starting to bud up, and Daffs won't be long before they are open. Snow Drops are everywhere and look a real treat.
Ros got me a Crab Sarnie for lunch about 2 hours ago. The indigestion is just about crippling me. I have taken indigestion tablets, but not seen to be moving it. So I can't see me wanting any dinner tonight. She has made a Chicken casserole with mash and veg.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUNG LADY" Enjoy your lunch out with the family. xxxx
Well northing has changed this end. Still NOT EATING, Fighting with the bedding an pillows, Was in bed by 9,00 last night. No sleep, when Ros came in she had to remake the bed. Finally I gave up and got up at 2.00 am. Read my book and returned to bed by 3.30. Slept well till 5.15, then laid quietly while Ros slept. I got up at 8.30 for COT
Have rung the Dr. ands rang back an hour ago. She has made an appointment for me to see her at 10.00 am tomorrow. Then I will see the nurse for my dressing, and if necessary I will get a blood test.
Ros is coping with my swing moods. This morning I showered and shaved and she helped dry me off and get my clean cloths out.
Simon rang me back this morning. He took his Labrador to the vets this morning for tests on this CANCER. The vet will ring him with some answers later today. He will then have to make the BIG DECISION regarding his dogs future. How I do feel for him, as I had the same years ago with my LAB.
Bright sunny day here, I should try to get out, but don't feel that good on my PINS. So I will see how I am tomorrow, I might walk to the Doctors.
See you all later.

Good afternoon all. Happy Birthday Mandy, hope you have a lovely day.
Gill pleased that you are feeling a bit better, hopefully you won't overdo things and set yourself back.
Mel, Camelias are lovely my parents had a gorgeous one in their front garden. It is one thing we have not tried to grow here, I don't actually think we have the space. Not a lot planned today, we went for the paper and called in for a coffee to the community hub. They are having difficulty with funding so are cutting back on cooking breakfasts and not opening Saturday mornings (they never opened Saturday afternoons. Shame but understandable as they only have a couple of chef trained staff.
I have a Dr's appointment to get results of a recent blood test otherwise nothing else planned.

Afternoon Mel, afternoon all
<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 <3 Hope you have a lovely day, do you have anything nice planned?
Bright and sunny here so the washing is pegged out and should dry nicely.
Still feeling a bit under the weather, but slightly better than yesterday.
You've got the same weather as me Mel. By the sounds of it you should have a good display on your Camellia when it flowers.
Nothing much planned for today, just some washing, I don't want to over do things with not feeling 100%. I had a word with the boss next door and he said the rendering is starting tomorrow and the roof is being finished then to. I wanted to peg my washing out and I'd heard the rendering is being sprayed on, so I wanted to check it wasn't being done today incase any of the spray blew over onto my washing. His labourer isn't very well so he's had to do some work himself, he was sweating all over the place, clearly he's not used to hard work lol.

Morning all,
We have sunshine this morning blue skies with like long ribbons of white cloud like folds in material and see through.
Nothing to report from yesterday and I hope we hear from our Frank today and hope he's been behaving himself.
The Camelia down the garden has buds that are showing colour so things are stiring in the garden.

Good evening all
Hope you soon feel better Gill and keeping warm do take it easy.
Being diabetic I only eat a couple of squares of the Lindt dark chocolate , as my granddaughters say a moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips.
Jane. fat quarters are squares of different patterned materials, one of my friends has them for quilting. She has made lots of quilts of all sizes.
I loved reading about your school days AnnG it's amazing how things have changed now listening to Abbie and Becky, I wouldn't want to be a teacher now. I did enjoy sport at school being tall I was good at net ball but my favourite was hockey, not too keen on Tennis and I could tolerate the gym.
Reading about both the other Anns' pension schemes I have a similar one from the Berkshire County Council again a very generous one but the downside is I'm taxed on it with a K code. I paid into this from 1978 when I started work as assistant accountant at the Arts Centre .
I missed out on O levels passed the mocks but got very poorly and missed going back to school. I had contacted whooping cough which led to pleurisy and bronchial pneumonia so was ill for quite sometime. I would loved to have gone to university, my brother who is 7 years younger than me went to Leicester and has BA in modern languages and a PHD in Art History and has always worked in the Arts.
I was lucky with school trips the two I remember most were to the Festival of Britain and a week in Paris, that one I came back with Scarlet Fever.
I had a full house for the Sunday roast today, the usual six. Paul and Richard have gone to Ice Hockey so it's just Ruby and me .
Frank sorry to hear you are still under the weather as the others have said you should go back to the doctor maybe you need a tonic if you are not eating much at the moment.
I was watching Country File earlier and part of it was the Norfolk Broads we had many happy family holidays there, Dad use to hire a cruiser and it was like a caravan inside and sometimes there was dingy to tow with it this had sails so that was fun.

Hi everyone, I feel rotten today, worse than yesterday so I've been asleep on and off all day. I don't know what it is, it's a bit like a mixture of a cold and flu with a cough and sore throat, not very nice at all.
I noticed poor Frank hasn't had a good nights sleep again. Your meds don't seem to agree with you Frank, maybe it's time to go and see the doctor again. Poor Ros must of been terrified, but I'm sure she understood. Never the less I would go and speak with your doctor, lack of sleep really isn't good for you.
What a palaver at OH's appointment with the car park and chemist Ann, I hope you get his meds okay tomorrow.
That's strange that you can't get your picture on here Jane, even when you click on save at the bottom of the page, maybe it is Genes and it'll be sorted soon.
How are you feeling after eating all those chocolates now Mel. Maybe you should only have a couple next time. Hope you're not feeling sick anymore.
So you've got another project Mandy, making draw string bags for the girls. I'd love to see a pic when you've finished them. Will the girls be helping you?
Interesting read bout your school days AnnG. I had to walk to school every day, it wasn't until I left school that I biked to work. I remember walking to school one day in thick fog, I bumped into a lamp post and apologised to it thinking it was a person lol. The fog was so thick you couldn't see you hand in front of your face. Another time there was thick snow and I couldn't tell if I was walking on the road or not as you couldn't see what was path and what was road. Pretty scary I can tell you.

Ann, when I returned to the MOD it was to work with the RAF. I worked in Personnel most of the time and at first I was working in Civilian Personnel so worked mainly with civilians. when we moved here I transferred and worked still in personnel but among uniformed RAF personnel. They were mainly lovely but our civilian grades were meant to equate to theirs. They would never accept that. The only time it worked was when we went away to other units, as an EO I had to stay in the Officers' mess. Uniformed personnel can be very uptight about the hierarchy, but they are not the worst. The worst can be the wives!!! I loved it though.
Jane, to avoid giving you mental indigestion I will leave a gap before another chapter. But I will look one out for you. :-D

That's true AnnG. So many people complain in the news about our civil service inflation proofed pensions once we get them, yet at the time we joined most wanted and went for the better paid jobs. I always laughed at the perception of us drinking coffee all day too. We never even had coffee breaks! When I joined, we had lots of ex military type, older men that had joined after the war, Lots of moustaches and self importance as they strode about, very conscious of their 'grade'. You were completely under their radar if you were of a lower grade and not really spoken to or even acknowledged as they passed by.
Jane you obviously had buckets more confidence than I had as a child and gained lots of experience in the work you did. I wouldn't have dared go abroad on my own and could never have been a nurse either. Your headteacher with the Roller sounded quite a character! OH has been glued to the Rugby too.
Mel, I hate it when you realise too late that too many choccies have passed your lips! They are banned here now I have to try and cut down, but like AnnG I allow myself the odd square of the 90% dark chocolate. There's no fear of over indulging in that as it's bitter like medicine but is good for you. :-S

thanks Jane my OH grew up not that far down the road from you at Buckfastleigh, went to school in Totnes. But that would have been before your time.Grandson's wife grew up in South Brent. I love reading people's stories and found yours interesting. You actually did better than me in school exams and you certainly do better than me in life experience. It must have been good experience working in Athens. (Well as long as you were working for a nice family). that was just one chapter out of the 22 in my Life Story.
