Morning all

Raining here today but thankfully there isn't any wind like yesterday, hopefully it'll stay that way. There's also no workmen around, so it's nice and quiet.

I hope Frank and Ros are okay and Frank posts today.

Love the pics Mel, did you add the drips of candle wax yourself, is it some sort of effect made from the paint, it's very good? The sunset pics were really lovely, Sandra liked those with the sky being pink. Surprise, surprise lol.

Piles of washing to do today so that'll keep me busy for a while. Then there's a bit of hoovering and I must get the feather duster on the cobwebs, I only did them a few days ago and now they're back. :-|

I'm still laughing at the mistake I made in the toilet the other day LOL.

Candles are lovely Mel, you are sooo talented.

wet and windy here this morning, we could do with going out so we shall see!!

I can rarely eat cheese late at night. Maybe your OH had a particular one that upset him and now doesn't dare risk it. My OH always dreams a lot if he has cheese. We mainly eat it at lunch time and yes I really like the stilton with ginger and the one with apricot too. We worked out that they must be taking quite a loss if that whole piece was £15 and we got it for just over £3. The seven pieces we got would probably have been about £2 just over each. And it does freeze well too.

I'm glad the injection was'nt as bad as you thought it may be Ann but that dos'nt sound like its going to last long but you never know it may last you longer.

That was good getting all that cheese for a knock down price AnninG. I like the white stilton and ginger one or the one with apricot in it but oh is not keen and has gone right off our cheese and biccies on a Sunday night saying cheese now upsets his tum.

I do hope our Frank and Ros are ok. I did comment this mroning about not hearing from him.

I have downloaded the pics so will send them now.

Anne

Anne Report 7 Feb 2019 21:46

Pleased that your injection wasn't as bad as you thought Ann, I hope it helps with the discomfort. you have been feeling.

Ann was a popular name when I first started work at the Park but I was the only Anne, someone wanted to send me a copy invoice they had difficulty with my surname so I said just send it to Anne with an E it duly came addressed to Ann "Withanee" this was in the late seventies before we were computerised. When
It's been first left in 2004 I was the only Ann/e.

Last night it was very windy it woke me up and had blown the recycling bin over.it is calmer now and was sunny earlier.

I had the usual Sainsbury delivery this morning so that's done for another week.

Mandy I was surprised that your card has arrived already as I only posted it yesterday when I visited where I worked. I posted seven birthday cards all together but the rest were 2nd class. Peter being from a large family with all his siblings having children and most of them being grand parents too. So every month there are cards to post.

Still no Frank I hope all is well for him and Ros.

Pleased to see the injection wasn't as bad as your thought it would be Ann, I hope it works and you have less pain for a while. It sounds like a good idea to give the bungalow a miss, I think I would to if there's a chance it's near a bad area.

You got a bargain with your cheese Ann, right place right time comes to mind :-)

You bought some nice things today Mandy, but how scary must the bus ride have been. It calmed down here this afternoon and the sun came out, which was a relief for me as I hate it when the wind gets up. Having said that it's suppose to be worse over the next two days, so I'll be staying indoors where it's safe.

The toilet sounded different Jane, although a warm seat would be nice, I wouldn't mind one of those here lol :-D

Talking of toilets, when we were out yesterday Sandra and I used the bathroom and after I washed my hands I went to use the hand drier. Try as I might I couldn't get it to work, so there I was flapping my hands underneath it and nothing was happening. Then the woman who works there stopped cleaning the sinks, calmly walked over to me and without saying a word pulled down some PAPER TOWEL that had been hidden. How daft did I feel, we all ended up laughing about it and I said to her maybe she should put an OUT OF ORDER sign on there, hide a hidden camera on it and wait for someone else to make the same mistake, then put it on YOU TUBE. She laughed and said, yes it would probably go viral.
It was funny, even if I did feel silly:-D :-D :-D

So the injection wasn't as bad as you thought to gave done Ann that's good will you be able to have it again in four to six weeks then if he only expects it to last that long?

Yes it's seems a bit calmer outside now AnnG but i think we're in for more wind tomorrow.

Oh Jane I don't know about sitting there on the loo with all that glass :-0 I should think it's that glass that you can see out but people can't see in , but you never know who's got binoculars :-D :-D

Jane

Jane Report 7 Feb 2019 20:11

Ann,it will be interesting to see how your injection has worked . It sounded far more simple than I imagined. Did it go right into the joint? Are you seriously thinking of moving??
Mandy you had a good shopping day and good bargains by the sound of things.

Janice said thy had a brilliant experience up the Shard having afternoon Tea .The toilet was another experience. Wall to floor clear glass window and the toilet was warm seat, and washed and dried your bits :-D Or as my Mum would have said 'your under carriage ' :-D :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 Feb 2019 20:06

Jane I am pretty certain it is the deli, the fish and the butcher that is closing but not the bakery.
Yes Ann seems to be a pretty common name on here doesn’t it.

Glad you got the injection over Ann but a nuisance and disappointing that it won’t last long.

The bungalow sounded as if it was in a pretty bad area so better to give it a miss.

Mandy, it sounds pretty rough your way if you could feel it on the bus. Hope it is calmer now.

Well that was soon done and I'd barely warmed the seat when I was called in. It was no worse than a flu jab being done, took a couple of seconds, and seems fine but a bit early to tell if it's any better yet. He looked at my xray and told me they'd said it is moderate to severe which is worse than the doctor had said. Therefore he said he didn't expect the injection to last more than 3-4 weeks, whereas it could usually last about 6 months. To think the wrongly updated score sheet the doctor used showed it as mild and if I hadn't shown her the on-line form I'd filled in that said different, I wouldn't even have been sent for an x-ray. :-S He is going to do the other, bit better knee in a month and thinks that may have a better result.

We called and had a coffee after, then drove by to look at a 4 bed newish bungalow that's for sale in the village where the quarry is. The bungalow would suit us fine, but a largeish estate of what look like old council houses are next to it one side and children's trampoline and swings are close to the side fence of the bungalow so it may be quite noisy and not very private on that side. The other side is bungalows. OH used to live in the village years ago and remembers it being a bit rough in that part with gangs of lads hanging about where the shops are a short way away. Looks like that is one we can cross off!!

So many shops and supermarkets are cutting back. Our Sainsbury's is so huge now and they stock so many makes of things, they either run out or it is hard to find what you want. We don't go so often now and use the smaller Sainsbury's Local or Tesco Metro or the local Co-op more. I never used the Co-op till we moved here but you get money off coupons with your till receipt and you get money on your storecard according to what you spend, that you can use to pay for your purchases. You can park nearer too.

I hope Frank has heard what has happened about his sister by now and knows where she is.

Evening all,

What a windy day , we went off to Norwich on the bus and it was getting blown about you could feel the gusts pushing on the side of the bus ,we had had enough by lunch time as it started to rain so we decided to come home ,no pleasure in plodding round the shops in the rain .
I did buy a new hand bag and some knickers and in Primark i got a pack of five pairs of socks for £1 :-D i have had their socks before and they wash up lovely but i've never got them for a £1 !!!!!!
Bought the girls some leggings and Jake a pair of tracky bottoms and a t shirt for Lewis ,they always need clothes .

This afternoon we went and did a Tesco shop and i did notice the deli looked a bit sparse but there was no cheese bargains like you got AnnG

I hope Ann is ok after her injection this afternoon .

Oh i carnt wait to see the Candles Mel

Thank you Anne for the envelope that came this morning ,i know it's yours by the little sticker on the back :-D it's on the shelf until Monday.

I wonder what it is that's making you sneeze Jane ,i keep meaning to ask how Janice got on at the weekend when they went up the Shard ? did they enjoy it ?

No Frank today ,hope they are both ok.

I do hope Ann gets on ok withthis injection. I have been thinking about it all day.

I have finished two of the longer candles and I am just about to go and finish off the others. I want oh to put some hooks in the ceiling so I can hang them to get a picture. I also found a couple more battery night light things to go in the tops of them.

All your shoppings done then AnninG and all put away for another week. I always feel good when thats all done.

It dried up this afternoon but the wind was so cold when I shut the girls in.

Jane Report 7 Feb 2019 18:01

Late Afternoon Everyone

It is so good to have you with us on board Ann(G). 3 Ann's now one with an E :-D
I hope Ann's injection has gone well this afternoon and that it will take effect very soon so she will be in much less pain .

Oh I did hear about the Deli counters shuting down in Tescos . I shop there almost everyday. That is going ot be such a huge loss. Is it in every Store this is happening? What about the Bakery and Butcher/Fish counters? I think the whole store has been going down hill lately with many items being removed from shelves.I can see me going to Morrisons as they have a brilliant Deli and Butchers. Tesco is only a 5 minute drive for me so is really convenient .

The wind last night was quite fierce.Blowing a hoolie in fact. It has died down now thank goodness and no panes came out of the Greenhouse :-D

Gill it sounded far worse where you are with all that rain and hail . We have had no rain at all today. It is definitely staying lighter longer now in the afternoon. The Blackbirds were kicking up a right racket just now. I wondered if Thomas might have been lurking somewhere !.

I have had a meal in the slow cooker since 11.30 ,a Chicken dish. I was missing one ingredient .Fresh Coriander so had to hot foot it to TESCO. I hope they dont stop doing their fresh herbs!!!!. All mine in the herb bed are dead other than the Sage,so I can't wait to get some nice new ones in again in the Spring.

I wonder if Frank has heard anything yet on his Sister? It must be a worry just not knowing what is going on.

I am sorry to hear about Simon and Sally's dog .Hopefully there will be something that can be done . Is 11 a good age for a Lab? . I hope we get a pic of Buddy (I think Buddy) in his hat !!!!. I cant remember now where I was . Somewhere on holiday, and saw 2 dogs with flat caps LOL .They looked hilarious .If only I had got a pic.

Something in this lounge is making me sneeze again :-S. I only have a couple of Orchids and an Amarylis and they aren't scented. Oh yes and some Irises that I got this morning but they are still in bud. So I don't know what it is.

I am waiting for a delivery of Cat litter. The one I like I used to get in guess where .....
yep Tesco but they stopped doing it so I order from Pet Planet now. The delivery man was on job 108 out of 126 just now when I tracked it so should be here fairly soon. My word what a lot of deliveries the chap has .I bet he wont be a bundle of laughs by the time he gets to us.

Must go and get the rice out and on the go . I am sure I have missed so many posts :-S

Afternoon All,

Horrid wind and rain earlier but it's stopped now and brightened up! Thanks for your good wishes Anne and Gill......I shall be off to the docs in half an hour for the injection. I've told OH he's not coming in with me as he's so squeamish about injections, he will make me twitchy as well!! lol.

The glass problem is thought to be due to one of the heating elements in the kiln failing as some of the glass was ok, but most not! The teacher will take all our glass to hr own kiln and refire it and we can collect it next Wednesday. The kiln was only installed last month as well and is new!! Having seen the tiny squares we decorated looking so similar, I doubt we will know our own out of the 80 there are when they come back. :-S

My sister does some scrapbooking although I have never seen them. She also makes cards and some of those are really nice. You got a bargain there with your cheese AnninG!

It's nice to meet up with old work friends isn't it Anne. I do that occasionally and so does OH. I have stained glass on my list of things I want to do and the dragonfly would look nice. The fused glass we have done is pieces of glass that are cut and layered together, then the glass melts and fuses together in the kiln. I have 2 bowls and a coaster I made before.

I hate changing computers AnninG as I have to set my own up and I always think I won't be able to find everything on the new screens!! It's bad enough Talktalk have updated their emails a few days ago. I couldn't find where to log off and now it's only when you hover over an arrow pointing to the right that it says 'sign off'. What was wrong with 'Log off' anyway?

Looking forward to seeing your Harry Potter candles Mel. The new paint sounds better.

Gill they made a bit of progress next door while you were out yesterday. I expect you have to watch the wind doesn't blow things out of the skip and onto your drive.

Better get ready to go now.

AnninGlos Report 7 Feb 2019 13:15

We actually have not had any rain at all since we went out at 10am. Shopping done, quite a large shop this week as last week we went to the small Tesco near to us because of the weather. It is actually nice out there now, still a bit windy but not too strong. It is 30 degrees in our conservatory

If you shop in Tesco, watch for bargains as they are closing their deli counters soon. We bought a very large piece of Caerphilly with cranberries, obviously the pieces they have on the deli counter to cut up. It was reduced to £3.80 and we have cut it into seven and six pieces are in the freezer.

Where's our Frank this morning?

Suns out again now and there's lots of blue sky at the moment with grey clouds here and there.

I have just given the HP candles another coat of paint and I think that will be the last one.

Gillx Report 7 Feb 2019 12:50

The rain's stopped here and we have sunshine now,

OH has just nipped to the post box for me to post your cards Mandy and Mel. Going to watch salvage hunters with OH, he's just come in, then I'll catch up with the soaps with Sandra before they're back on again this evening. I just need to add another baby to my family tree first, OH's cousin had a little girl just before Christmas and I forgot to pop her on my tree.

And now the suns out again..........but the sky still looks a bit grey.

Is it today Ann has her injection in the knee? I seem to have lost count of the days this week.
