It must of been someone else on the roof as the roofers van isn't here and the remaining roof tiles are still stacked up on top of the new flat roof extension. I did noticed the fella who is suppose to be doing the rendering is parked outside, but I can't see the rendering being done today, so maybe there's a bit more plastering to do inside. At least some workmen are here which surprised us when we saw how bad the weather was when we got up.

It sounds like you have the same weather as us Ann, hope you don't get to wet when you're shopping. What a pity you didn't wait a bit longer for your computer, you would of had the £30 off too. I've just watched the weather forecast and it's going to be even windier tomorrow and Saturday......not looking forward to that. We've just noticed the roofers are back finishing off next doors roof, I hope they don't get blown off, it's awful weather out there. The door hasn't been put in the skip yet, so that's good.
Hope the chicken drinker is okay Mel, it does sound like we've now got the weather you had last night. When I saw the weather forecast earlier it looks like you're in for some more rain, I hope it's not as bad as we're got now.

good morning Gill and all. bright showery and very windy here at the moment but it is Tesco day so off out to stock up for the week. I don't dislike food shopping as long as it is not raining too much when we have to unpack the car. I guess we won't be out long as OH got himself a new computer yesterday and is busy installing it and setting it up. He has had a practice recently as he set me up with the same model a couple of weeks ago. And blow me he got his £30 cheaper!! :-D
Hope all stays safe Gill with the door, could be nasty.
Back later.

Morning all
We have a storm here at the moment, very strong wind and the rain is awful. I'm just hoping none of the tall plants blow over.
Good luck with your injection today Ann. I'll be thinking of you. <3 I hope your glass is okay and it's not been ruined.
We were out all day yesterday visiting MIL and doing some shopping, I'm so glad we didn't go today in this weather. When we got back home, we noticed the scaffolding was down and the gutters were up. They had a damp proof course done to, we noticed them doing that as we were going out. I think the rendering was suppose to be done today, but the weather has put paid to that and the roof hasn't been finished either.
It sounds like you got some bargains for your crafts Mel. I'd love to see some pictures when you've finished everything.
Hi Ann, pleased to see you on the thread, see I told you you'd be made welcome. Please stay, we'd all love you to. Interesting what you were saying about the glitter. I didn't know it was made up of tiny bits of plastic either. That's my something new learnt today :-D :-D
It's nice to see you had a good nights sleep Frank, hope you had another one last night. Sorry to hear about the lab, I hope there's something the vet can do. The hat sounds fun, love to see a pic when Ros has finished it, especially if you can take one with Buddie wearing it ;-) ;-)
That was nice catching up with our old work friends Anne, like you say it's nice to see them face to face.
We're not going anywhere today with the weather the way it is, so I've decided to watch call the midwife I recorded then take another look at my family tree after that. The heating's on and it's lovely and warm here. I feel sorry for the workmen next door, even though they are doing work inside it's still cold in there. OH's just told me they have taken the front door off I think that was the last to go in all the other windows and doors have been done. He's hoping they put the door on the floor and not on top of the skip as it might get blown off onto our drive. Luckily OH has parked the car on the road but he'll need to bring it back down the drive later, so if they do put it in the skip then he's going to have to ask them to take it out as the skip it full. I hate it when it's so windy it causes so much damage, it's like living in a wind tunnel sometimes.

Good evening all
First I hope your injections don't give you any discomfort Ann and they make walking easier for you.
Sorry to hear about your glass, they do a stained glass workshop where I worked, not sure it's the same as yours when I left for the 2nd time they presented me with a window hanging made by the tutor it's mainly of a dragon fly and very pretty .When I left the first time I had a gold watch, a bouquet and a cheque so didn't expect anything that time. .
It was nice to see you posting again Ann in Glos please stay with us now. When I was young I use to make scrap books encouraged by one of my Aunties, I wish I had kept them.I also use to collect film stars' photos
The little dress you made Mandy is so pretty as the others have said you are very clever lady.
Would love to see the little French Bulldog wearing his hat when Ros has made it for him, Frank
Spent a couple of hours this afternoon meeting up with old work friends for a coffee and a chat, the others still work at the Park and although we keep in touch on face book it's nice to have a face to face chat now and again :

Not quite finished today’s, only just got back into it again been doing @2x 12 scrap books for over ten years. I prefer to use more photos on a page than most people. My favourite is one I did on my family history but later ones are full of Grabdchildren and great grandchildren.
I will see what I can find to photograph.
Yes I am sure a lot of people read the garden and bird threads. Do add if you have anything we would be interested in. :-D

O whats it like Annin we'd love to see a pic. Mum made scrap books when I was young and always bought me one too. I mainly put things in it I would like to make and still do nowadays. I always seem to be making something inbetween the chickens and the housework which sometimes gets left if I get into something.
Ann do let us know how your glass work turned out after you've had a look at it tonight. Such a shame it was'nt fired enough and I think we all want to know if it can be refired.
Put another two coats of paint on the last three Harry Potter candles today and still some of the writing is showing through on them. I should have covered them in white paper before I made them like I did the kitchen roll ones. Soon be able to take a pic to show you.

Hi AnninGlos :-D hope your going to stay ,like you i read other posts but don't like to comment ,i usually have a read of the Garden thread and the Bird thread . I didn't think about Glitter being plastic ,i don't know what i thought it was made of really . Scrapbooks might be an idea for some thing to do with the grandchildren when they come ,they could add bits and pieces each time they come .
Frank i have loads of those open ended needles ,they were my Nanny's ,now i think they sell the needles with the wire attached to each needle so you can knit the round . No i won't spend any money ;-) i'll only buy the things i need ;-) ;-) :-D
I think you should get a refund Ann but as you say you still got a little practice in ,hope there is some thing there though that can be saved after all your time and effort.
I meant to say i have had a blue envelope arrive in the post :-D it's propped up on the side for Monday :-D
There was some thing else i wanted to say but can't for the life of me remember what it was now !!!!!

Thank you for the welcome I promise I will not lurk but will post. Maybe Annx at least something will be salvageable and usable, hope so anyway.
Haven’t been on Genes much today as after coffee at the community hub and a wick call into Tesco for a paper and tonic (main shop tomorrow) I spent the rest of the afternoon doing a scrap book page.

Well that's twice I've touched something on here and deleted my posts. I must try holding my hands up and let my fingers dangle like 2 spiders to type! Nice to see you there AnninGlos and if my glass is salvageable I will send pics.
After saying one thing leads to another, OH was asked this morning if he would sit on yet another panel. A small retainer is paid but he said it won't be much work, but he always says that! After lunch I remembered we needed some kitchen bin bags being as the plastic bags haven't appeared yet and I managed to find some at the garden centre.
Mandy I think we should hopefully get a refund if the glass can't be fired again. It would still be a day's work for nothing though, but then again it was some practice for us. I'm looking forward to popping to the place tonight to have a look at mine and also to have a look at what the students are making........I can have a nose around!! :-)
I don't think it applies anymore Gill, but when I first got married lots of people would leave 1 room without a radiator, usually the kitchen, so the house wouldn't be classed as having 'full central heating' which meant their rates would be cheaper! Mum always used the cooker to warm her kitchen.
Mel I forgot it was called twillweld. We had to doubleskin it on the aviary frames, one layer each side of the frames to keep those naughty pussycat paws from reaching through. The birds weren't scared of the cats after a while and would stay outside chirping at them. I'd forgotten your OH was a Game Keeper, so he would have plenty of practice at pen making as you say. I like the idea of using temporary screws to hold the wire till it was fixed.

AnneGlos, so nice to see you pop in. You are always welcome you know. xxxx
It turned out to be quite a nice day, not that I have been out. I started another book this morning, so had my head stuck in that. It's by the same author as the TWO GIRLS Jane. I will let you know the title.
Ros is knitting the hat for the dog. The eyes have to be made on three needles with the points at each end (so I have been told) Carolyn has some needles for Ros to borrow.
She found some wool she loved yesterday, so she is going to knit herself another scarf.
Ros has made a stew for this evening, so nice and easy and not a lot of clearing up.
Don't you go spending all your money in Norwich Mandy. !!! I often think of my time spent there sixty years ago. It was Buddy Holly's anniversary of his death, the other day. I remember hearing that news sitting on my bed, at OLD CATTON 3650 FCU Constitution Hill. So I have a reasonable memory for an old one. !!!!
I don't expect you have much time for afternoon Tele, but I have been watching David Dimblby sailing around the coast. It's worth a look on catch up, if you like that sort of thing.
Nights are starting to draw out now, so Spring won't be long now. ;-) ;-) ;-)

good afternoon all. You will know I have said before that I always read your interesting thread. (Even though I sort of feel as if I am eavesdropping :-D). well I also often want to reply but don't quite have the nerve. This time though I decided I would. Those crafty ones among you, do you realise that glitter is made up of lots of tiny bits of plastic? No, I didn't either but I read something about it yesterday and it looks as though in the fight to do away with plastic glitter might be something that will disappear in its current form. I don't know if they will replace it but, if like Mel, you use quite a bit you could do with stocking up.
Annx Oh that sounds a great disappointment if your glass was spoilt. And I was looking forward to asking you for photos for the craft blog. (which does seem redundant these days so I usually use the photo blog instead).
Frank how sad about the Lab. So sorry to hear/see about that, hope there is some treatment for it.
I shall creep out again now Lol!

Yes Frank you had told us that Sally and Simon wanted Ros to knit a hat for Buddie but you had'nt told us they wanted a frogs hat! He will look great and we must have a picture when you get one please?
Washing just ready to go on the line now as its finished.
Ann oh puts screws in to hold the wire tight before he staples it on the frame then removes the screws when the staples are in. Don't forget he used to be a game keeper as well as a Fireman and had to build pens for the young chicks and birds.
That twill weld was strong for the averies was'nt it? I used to have to cut that as I sold it by the yard when I had the pet shop.

Afternoon all,
What a lovely day suns shining and it's really warm through the glass as I sit here .
Oh Frank what a shame about the Lab I hope some thing can be done bless him/her. So Ros has a pattern for the hat ,I'd love to see a photo when it's done . Three Wheels on my Wagon I'll have that song on my brain now :-D The other day it was the Meat Ball song I kept humming :-D
What a shame about your glass Ann ,if they haven't fired properly will you be able to do them again? or is it the luck of the draw . I like the Works too I'm off to Norwich tomorrow shopping with DIL so will be able to have a browse in the Norwich store.
I rang the dentist to book our check ups this morning , 4th of April is the earliest appointment we can get .
Right better get some rolls in the oven to have with our Parsnip soup.
