All sorted with the nurse, I have to go back neck Monday 4.20 ro have dressing changed again, It's all healing well from the inside. I also had my monthly injection. Will ring to make next months appointment in Feb. and order the injection.
We came home with THREE BIG BAGS of medication, which should last us a month.
Glad you had a nice lunch Jane, and the you got your compliments about your bonnet Annx.
Susan my niece rang tonight. (Bills daughter.) Mary my sister is coming home from hospital on Friday. She will need 2 carers 4 times a day. The cost will be £600,00 per week to be paid by the two sons. There is talk of putting her into 24/7 care home. That would be £800.00 per week. But would have 24/7 care. If they have the carers. They will still need to have one of the boys sleeping at her house. So really there is no choice. 24/7 care home has to be the answer .
Dinner almost ready to dish up, so I'm off. see toy tomorrow.

Afternoon Everyone Thanks for all your wishes for Chris today. Yes we had a lovely meal sitting by the window looking out over the garden. It will be smashing in the summer there with a large patio and tables and chairs. Chris said he thought the decor was too clinical for his taste.I though it was lovely.I bit too mdern for his taste I think, but they had a really nice double sided wood burner going. Chris had Pheasant Pate and then Calves Liver,Bacon ,Mushrooms mashed potatoes and Savoy Cabbage which he said was delicious Then he managed ot force down Chocolate Torte with Clotted Cream Ice Cream. I had an Avocado ,Crispy Walnut and Pink Grapefruit salad and the Beer Battered Fish and Chips. No pudding. I did have a thick slice of Sourdough Bread with the salad but it has given me the most dreadful indigestion and I am still burping :-S Nothing more for us tonight that's for sure.
It has just started raining here now so may well turn to snow.
Frank ,I finished that same book a couple of days ago and then got the next one which I have also finished.I really enjoyed both. We obviously have the same taste :-D
I feel like having 40 winks but will force myself to stay awake. There is a load of washing to put away so I think I will get on and do that.
Glad you managed to get your week Ann :-D

Hope all went well with the nurse today Frank.
The snow didn't amount to anything in the end and it went back to rain, so no snowmen here today Ann. How nice to have a compliment on the hat you made. Everyone will want one now. No picture of your necklace has arrived here :-(

Afternoon All,
:-)HAPPY BIRTHDAY to CHRIS. :-) I hope the menu was good and that they had a lovely meal.
You're right Mel.........he doesn't do things by halves does he!!! lol That's far too big to move on wheels or for you to help move. Maybe he should make an even bigger one split into 2 down the middle with a connecting hatch between? Then you could let them into one half while the grass grows in the other! :-D I was thinking today how fast the weeks are going by. We did a Sainsbury's shop today and it was a bit alarming to see the spaces on quite a few shelves, so maybe people are stocking up already for Brexit??
Gill I had a chuckle at your description of looking like Morticia in a photo!! I used to love the Adams Family and The Munsters!! That's good there was no trouble nextdoor and it sounds like they are cracking on with the work now. I bet Sandra is on the lookout for the snow that's forecast!! OH said it was minus 2 when he got home from his meeting last night, but it's just a bit rainy here at the moment.
I bet you feel all the better for the good sleep last night Frank. It sounds like you are on the mend now which is good. How is Ros feeling now? Has the breathlessness improved? We were saying today how things have changed and that years ago there weren't thieves trying to get your money off you over the phone all the time. I don't even get into conversation anymore and just replace the phone. Since the talktalk data problem I can get up to a dozen spam emails a week as well. Marking them as spam only seems to work for a few weeks then back they come again. :-( I hope the nurse is gentle!
We went to the Ullesthorpe carvery today and my hat I knitted got compliments from Sharron which was nice. :-)
I finished the necklace so will send a pic. Then to choose the next thing to finish!

Hi all, I did find a book on my kindle that I have started. It's about 2 ten year old girls who have gone missing after leaving school five minutes before HOME TIME. (we all remember that time) lol lol. I have got to chapter SIX and put it down. Must have a quick wipe over, before going to see the nurse.
I have prepared dinner, Lamb in Onions and gravy with potato's on top, cabbage, carrots, and boild parsnips. That will save Ros a job when she gets home. (WHICH I HOPE WON'T BE LONG) It's nearly 3.30.
Everywhere ha been so quiet and peaceful. Jan has just rung to see how I am. She was saying that yesterday, she spent all day in the garden, doing jobs, in 11 degrees temp. which was a lot warmer than it was here.
I'll be off now to get sorted, ready for when madam arrives home. xxxx

We've just had that type of rain Mel, it's just turned to snow, so as you can all imagine Sandra is really excited. I'm not sure the snow will lay though after so much rain, I think it'll be far to wet.
Pleased to see you had a decent nights sleep Frank and managed to turn over without any pain. Ros is doing well too. I don't blame you for shouting at those people who are pulling scams, you'd think they'd have better things to do with their time. Maybe you should report it anyway incase someone else falls for it.
That's a big frame Mel you be careful helping your OH, they sound very heavy and awkward you don't want to hurt yourself. Please, please be careful. <3

O you lot do make me laugh. You should know by now that my oh dos'nt do things by half. The frames are 6' high and just under 5 METERS long and there are 8 of them. Try and get one of those on wheels and move it over grass......... I say no more. We will probable get them on the big trailer and move them that way. He is building them on the decking and they will go out the back space down to the back lawn.
Its raining steadily here not the fine stuff.

Good morning Gill and all,
I did lay down for a while yesterday, but didn't sleep. However I was in bed by 9.30 last night and slept right through till 5.30 this morning. I visited the loo, and got back into bed. Ros followed suite, and we dropped off again until 7.50. I got up and made tea and had my tablets. Ros came out around 9.00. We are fed and watered, Ros is in the bathroom getting ready to go out with Carolyn for their Tuesday shop and wander around the Garden Centre.
Ros is coming along so well, apart from the bruised arm, you wouldn't know she has had anything done. She is not one for giving in to things. xxx
My ribs feel a litter easier this morning, I was able to turn over in the night without any pain. So things are looking up. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Gill, from what you say, your new neighbours will be lucky to move in by the end of the month, what with the weather forecast, and the amount they still have to day.
So our Max is on a diet. lol lol. The trouble with labs. is they can, and will eat for England, if you let them. I'm sure a little cutting down on his intake won't hurt him. What about Jake taking him on his paper round ?? that will give him a bit more exercise. ;-) ;-) ;-)
What a good idea of Jane's to put the chicken cage thingy on wheels. If as I imagine it will be four sides. you could put them together and use a hook to keep them together.
All this healthy eating Jane, What ever next, dress sizes going down. !!! good excuse for a new waldrobe ;-) ;-) ;-) How old is the photo on the thread. ?? and how different do you think you are now. ??
I have had a lot of trouble with a SCAM. saying my Internet will be disconnected if I don't answer all these questions. When they rang again this morning, I told them in no uncertain terms, if they bother me again, I will report them to the Authorities, and put the phone down. I hope this is the end to the matter, once and for all.
Is it the right day to wish CHRIS "A HAPPY BIRTHDAY" I am sure Jane said it was today. I know it's my daughters birthday tomorrow. She will be 55. And it will be 61 years since my dear old DAD passed away. Not the best day of the year for me, as I still remember the hours day and night, we spent together, while he was dying. NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN. <3 <3 <3
Ros has gone out now. I reminded her not to forget my appointment with the nurse at 4.00 pm.
I think I will try to find a new book to read on my Kindle. I have ignored this for the past few weeks, with all that's been going on.
I hope you are all well, please keep warm and take care if you are out and about. I am sure there is likely to by some icy parches around with this drop in temperature . xxx

Morning all
Dry so far today, but it's forecast for rain and snow later. I noticed it was very cold when I went to feed the birds earlier. I'm glad I don't have to go out today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS HOPE YOU HAVE A BRILLIANT DAY
I've been thinking about the programme you mentioned Ann and it sounds very similar to one I watched a while back about an old woman who lived in a remote area in a cottage. She had no electric and had to collect water from, I think, a stream everyday. She had to walk quite a distance to get the water, over rough ground and she must of been in her 70's or 80's if I remember correctly. It sounds very much like the programme you watched. I wonder if it was the same lady.
OH is out again today helping his mate and with Sandra sleeping until late I thought I'd take advantage of the peace and quiet and carry on going through a family tree I've been given access to so I can check it against my tree. I'm getting a bit fed up of this part of my tree now and want to get it finished as soon as I can as I'd like to try and knock down another brick wall I've got before the spring as I don't do much research in the warmer months.
It looks like the plumber is here again with his electrician brother Carl. I think they're doing the bathroom at the moment, I can see a light on in there. Carl, was cutting tiles the other day, so it must be coming along nicely and almost finished by now. The roof looks like it'll be finished in a day or two as well. The new neighbours are hoping to move in, in two weeks so the workmen will need to move quickly if it's all going to be finished on time. The rendering and drive haven't been done yet, but while the scaffolding is still up and the skip down the drive, those jobs can't be started. I can't see all the work being finished on time so it'll probably be the end of February when they move in, not the middle.

Sandra's looking forward to tomorrow as it's forecast for snow here, not sure how much though, but if it's enough no doubt she'll be making snowmen.....bless her.
I missed that programme, it's sounds very interesting though.

Pleased to see all went well at the vets for Max, Mandy. Did he need to lose a bit of weight?
I looked like Morticia Addams Mel on my driving licence photo, with having long dark hair and a pale complexion, it didn't help when you're not allowed to smile. So the girls are going to have a new home soon, that'll be nice and fresh grass underneath them to.....bonus.
Hope the sleep helped Frank and you feel a bit more refreshed now. How is Ros doing?
The meal James made sound nice Jane, good job you had the yogurt to hand though with it being a little on the spicy side. I don't know what happened with the roofers, boss and neighbour as I kept out of the way today. I didn't even offer the roofers a drink incase I timed it wrong and all the men were having words. I do hope it's all been sorted now though. When I got the bin in after all the workmen had gone home I noticed the front of the roof is almost finished along with the side so they must of come to some sort of agreement between them. I didn't hear any shouting, so that was good.
I hope you get the week in May you want Ann, when it's nice and quiet for you. I can imagine it would be very noisy with lots of children excitingly running around when it's bank holiday.

That's my problem Mandy too Mandy. I get a nice pattern and beads and can't wait to start it! lol I think I have at least a dozen things I haven't finished. Some only need a clasp putting on, but I hate doing those! Still I'm determined to finish a few more off so I can tidy more away. That's good that the vet was pleased with Max and that he'd lost a little weight. I bet he hoovers up anything that gets dropped! I saw a black one being tied up outside the co-op when we called in after lunch yesterday and thought what beautiful dogs they are. This one sat down when they left him but his eyes never left the door they'd gone through.
Well I managed to book the week I wanted and with a £71 discount so that was good. Until I see the surgeon again in early June Jane I have no idea how the rest of the year will pan out or when we could book. That was a really healthy meal James cooked and sounds nice......with plenty of yoghurt at hand for me too. I have recently tried some of the puy lentil meat free cottage pie ready meals with butternut squash topping because they are quite slimming and was surprised how much I liked them. Hopefully now he is feeling better Chris will be able to enjoy his birthday and meal out.
Mel, you are right about men thinking they are still married to amazon women! I don't think I could help OH lift our fencing panels out anymore. If where you move it is flat some wheels like Jane suggests might work. Even having just 2 at one end would be a big help to wheel it about. How big will it be? I did my own photos for my new licence, but they were still just as awful. lol We used to have to have them on our ID for work and I never, ever looked 'normal' in them!!!! lol. Thank goodness I'm usually at the other side of the camera. :-D I think we need to renew our passports so it looks like there will be some more to take soon. I think OH wants to be ready to flee the country with all this Brexit business! Jane I'm sure there will be shortages, even if it's just because of people panic buying!
I meant to ask if anyone saw the prog of the 80 year old lady who lived in the remote cottage in Donegal? Ben Fogle went to visit her and talk about her life. She reminded me a lot of Hannah Hauxwell, a similar tough sort! No water, so she travelled miles to fill up plastic containers from a well, climbed a wooden ladder each night to her bunk bed and her husband was buried near the back door!!!

I don't think any one looks right on these photo's that are taken for passports or driving licence ,with having to keep a straight face and staring at the camera they don't look natural do they ,the more you try not to laugh the more you do :-D :-D :-D i'm a devil for getting the giggles :-D
Jane i just cut Max's food down a bit ,i weigh each meal out and some times save a few biscuits back for a treat ,he has some bits though ,more from Colin than me :-0
We've had a go at the jigsaw this afternoon :-0 i think it's going to take forever to do.

LOL Mel I thnk we all look a bit like convicts in those photos. At least you have them now.Is it when you are 70 you have to have a new one for the driving licence ?
Mandy did you say you had reduced the amount of food Max has or did you change to a different diet? It's good he has lost a bit of weight . I need to know the secret :-D
I think we are due this snow from tomorrow night by the look of things. I got some extra milk and bread today Mandy just in case. If they are right we could be in for a fair amount of snow overnight tomorrow. James will have to take Chris's car to work on Wednesday as it is better and safer in snow and ice. At least we will be ok to go out for lunch tomorrow.
I asked my friend who lives near Saltash what Pasties she has. They are called Helluva Pasties :-D. I looked them up and they do sound blooming good.
All this talk of food shortages !!!. I bet people will be out buying up lots tinned veg etc .It might not be a bad idea.It is just everything is so uncertain with what is happening with Brexit :-S Maybe we should all start growing our own :-D
3 programmes I want to see tonight ,all at 9pm. Silent Witness, Steph and Dom with their son who has epilepsy, and something else (I can't think what now). I seem to have brain fog :-S Nothing new there :-S.....oh yes Cold Feet is the other programme.
Cat's in so the back door is shut now :-D
Are you awake now Frank? I hope you had a really good rest and a bit of decent shuteye and are now feeling a bit more refreshed . Chris had to have a kip this afternoon . That is the first time in quite a while now.He did say he didn't have a great night last night . He is really just about back to normal again thank goodness.
Fitz popped in this morning . He had just had his hearing aid fitted .I couldn't see it at all as the tube thing that goes into the ear is the same colour as his hair :-D. I think it will take a little while for him to get used to all the new clear sounds.
I'll have a look at this spag bol in the slow cooker. It's just about done the 8hours now.

I have been to Holsworthy to get some hinges for the gate in the frames and oh wanted some T plates to put the frames together with but they don't stock them in our MOle Valley so I had to order them. A nuisance though which means another trip in to Holsworthy.
Hope Frank feels better after a good snooze this afternoon.
Need a drink now before I shut the girls in for the night or I may make it after I have done them then I don't have to go out in the cold anymore.
Its been sunny most of the day but really cold with it and no wind.
I got my pictures taken for my new licience today in the travel shop. They are awful like prison photos. I had to take my glasses off and not smile and then I got the giggles. Trust me........ the lady who took the pics was very good though. When I showed them to oh he said he has never seen any photos like those of me and he said they did'nt look anything like me. Anyway all done now and £5 lighter.

Afternoon All Frank I hope you feel better after a but of a sleep. Maybe things are just catching up on you now.You have been through an awful lot and havint the worry about Ros too.
That was lucky Gill ,that whatever was in your eye was flushed out when you rinsed it. It must feel a lot easier now for you. Any develpoment on any bother next door? I hope it has all been quite and nothing for to you have got yourself worried about.
Mel I can imagine that the Chicken Frames would weigh quite a bit and not easy for you to help move. I am sure what with all your various vehicles of one sort or another you will manage to find a way with OH to move them when needed.Maybe have them made on little wheels :-D :-D
Ann, I hope you manage to get that last week free in May for your holiday. Would you go in June or leave it until maybe a bit later in the year?
James's meal was lovely. I am not sure it actually had a name but it was Puy Lentils, with Spinach,Carrot and Asparagus all mixed in with a spicy !! Chicken Breast that he had been marinading . The Chicken was a bit on the spicy side for me but there was a pot of nice plain yoghurt to pop on the chicken to help cool those spices.(It worked a treat :-D) It was actually a very healthy meal
I have made a Spag Bol in the Slow Cooker today(obviously not the spaghetti :-)) This is a new one for me. :-D
