Ann I hope all goes well with your knee assessment appointment today , hope its an early one so you can park ok and don't have a root March .

The Moon will turn red in the early hours of Monday morning as Britain experiences its last total lunar eclipse for 10 years. The Moon will start to darken at 2.35am with full eclipse beginning at 4.40am. It will be free of the Earth’s shadow by 7.49am.
It is the last chance for UK observers to see a total lunar eclipse in its entirety until 2029.

Had a busy day today sorting out some cuttings I did last year, the roots were poking out of the bottom of the pots so they all needed re-potting, then we all spent the rest of the day catching up with all our programmes we've recorded, we're running out of space on the planner so had to clear some of it.
Love the pics of your new girls Mel, they're bigger than I thought. I hope they settle in and carry on laying for you.
Hope your knee assessment goes well tomorrow Ann, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Sorry to see you didn't have a very good night last night Frank, maybe you'll have a better one tonight.
We saw the Heron today, they are so big but fly so gracefully. No workmen all weekend so we're not sure if they've stopped again, no doubt we'll find out tomorrow.
There's a lunar eclipse tonight that OH and I will be watching. Sandra likes her sleep to much so said she didn't want to see it. The only problem might be the clouds, so I hope there isn't many around so we can see it properly.

The new girls will get pecked for quite a while until the others get fed up with it. They may go off lay in a couple of days as they have more than one get coming down their tubes in stages. After the move they may have a few days off after the upset.
This is about St Bridit.
Apart from being the second patron saint of Ireland, St. Brigid is also the patron saint for babies; blacksmiths; boatmen; cattle; chicken farmers; children whose parents are not married; dairymaids; dairy workers; fugitives; infants; mariners; midwives; milk maids; poultry raisers; printing presses; sailors; scholars; ...
The cross is protection against fire in the home.
Iv'e not perfected it yet. I don't like the way you have to tie the arms off as I keep breaking the rushes.

Just seen your 'new girls' Mel. They look good with plenty of feather this time like you said and seem fine as they take in the new sights and explore with their feet on soil. You'll have to be careful around the pond with the decking slippy....don't want you doing any of those fancy dives! I don't think I'd have the polished indian sandstone we had for our patio again as that can get very slippy this time of the year. I hope your baby fish are just hiding near the bottom. They can be quite hard to spot I would think.
That made me smile Anne. The cartoonists are having a field day aren't they! :-) He's giving them plenty of material.
Good tv tonight with Call the Midwife and Les Mis.

Good afternoon all
Having a really lazy day as no roast to do, Paul and Richard have gone to the Cart & Horses in London to see "Paul Mario Day" [no idea who he is] his performance ends at 6pm, so plenty of time to get the train home.
It has been a lovely day with bright sunlight but quite cold here.
Mel lovely photo of your new girls who must be happy as they are already giving you eggs. Have they settled in with your other girls? You must have needed that extra sleep.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night Frank but naughty not to take the pain killers. Good that you are able to hire a walking frame and thankfully you don't have stairs to climb.
Ann I also saw a cartoon about Prince Philip. It showed Theresa May finishing a meeting with the Queen and she is saying to her " Would you like my husband to drive you home?" Hope your knee assessment goes smoothly and you arrive in time with a parking space.
Max really enjoys your grand children's company Mandy bless him. Ruby is the same when my two visit, everybody else gets ignored she always ends up on Abbie's lap.

Afternoon All,
Another gloomy day here! As we set off for lunch, the neighbour across the road must have already been in his car and pulled out in front of us. I thought he was on his own, but OH had spotted Mrs Overall in the passenger seat. His car wasn't in the drive when we went to bed so they got back late. It seems that whatever was wrong with her was quickly sorted out?
Mandy I'm waiting for a reply to texting my sister ..........sometimes it takes a while. She does texts rather than phone and has no email address. I won't phone her at home now since listening to her answerphone message........ 'we are not answering the phone, #### off, we didn't want to speak to you anyway'. What charmers for anyone to hear that when they ring them! As I've said before, we are like chalk and cheese thank goodness!! I'll try again in a few days as it didn't sound good that she had problems with both legs now. I bet the doctors and poor nurses are getting some stick.
It sounds like the handsome Max was a little over zealous with his lick kisses for Chelsea! lol. Then wore himself out and needed a lie down after she went!
With Prince Philip in the news I wondered if you have ever seen any of the royal family out and about? OH made me smile with the Matt cartoon yesterday. It was of a metal scrapyard with a big sign saying 'Collect your Royal Memorabilia here'.
Frank, you could try putting a pillow down your right side at night to stop you trying to turn that way. You know Auntie Mel is right about keeping your painkillers up! Drinking more water will help with the other problem too. That was lucky the chap rang and can let you borrow a walker. You will be much safer with it.
You had a good lie in Mel. I expect you needed it. It's good the new girls are paying for their keep in eggs so soon. They must be happy with their new home! :-D
I have to get my things all ready for my knee assessment tomorrow as OH will want to leave in plenty of time. I need to do something about these hairy Yeti legs first!!

Sorry you had a bad night Frank. You must keep up the meds for you to be free of pain especially at night. It will also help you to sleep. You can still take the Lactose.
I have just fed my fish as the sun was out and they came for food, just a bit of flake. I did'nt see any of the teeny weeny ones though. The decking around that pond is like an ice rink it is so slippery. Oh will have to give ait a wsh with the pressure washer befor eI go on it again.
My poor old car is really really dirty with all the farms I have to go past in fact it is a bit green on the near side. Its so cold out you don't feel like doing it and there is no near car washing place.

Good morning (JUST) to you all,
Looks a nice clear day outside. Sun is shining, and hardly any breeze.
My man from "BEN" (Motor trade benevolent fund) rang yesterday to see if it would be convenient to call to see me next Wednesday, he calls in two or three times a year. In conversation my back was mentioned. He has TWO frames at home, and will bring one on his visit. I can keep it for a few weeks, that will help me indoors to get around. The other will get used to help me walk outside, sooner rather than later I hope. THANKS ALL for mentioning RED CROSS ETC.
Ros has done the veg for lunch. I said I would make the Yorkshire pudding later together with the cheese sauce, if she wants me too.
Harvey rang from London last night. As Lewis is in Barcelona, he thought they would go to see a show "LADY IN BLACK" Lewis gets back tomorrow lunch time ish. Ros has offered to pick him up at Luton and take him home. The match is this afternoon, so I bet he will enjoy that experience.
Not a good night again last night. At one time I turned onto my RIGHT SIDE. The pain almost sent me through the ceiling, and the scream I let out, could have woken the neighbourhood ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Good old Ros was there to get me turned over onto my back again. I laid most of the rest of the night CLOCK WATCHING :-P :-P :-P
I haven't taken any medicine this morning, as I am getting constipated, so just taking Lacotose (sp)
Be good, I will try to get back later. xxx

Mandy the new girls are laying already and I have had 5 eggs today so Em got 2 doz this morning.
I have had a play with my glue gun today just trying to make shapes with the glue on greaseproof paper. Some of the stars came out ok but I got carried away with a tree of life but it turned out quite large.
I like Ruby's new picture. She looks to me as if she is saying "It was'nt me" "Honest".
Jane hope the meal went off ok and you all enjoyed your crackers and wore your paper hats.
Fillet steak for us tonight with chips, onions, mushrooms and peas and a nice bottle of White Grenech which will go down a treat.

Evening all,
Brrrrr it's been a really cold day here ,sharp frost first thing in fact when i looked out it was so white i thought it had snowed in the night . Chelsea stayed last night ,i think she was a little put out as Katie was staying with her friend last night so son asked could she stay ,he dropped her off and Max nearly licked her to death he was so pleased to see her :-D
Jane i hope you have a lovely belated Christmas meal ,there will be so much to talk about i'm sure with the new Mr & Mrs
How are the new girls settling Mel ,i suppose it will be a little while before they start laying ?
Love your new avatar picture Anne ,Ruby has that look in her eye as if to say have you got my best side :-D :-D
Oh Ann i wonder what's wrong with Mrs Overall :-0 I keep meaning to ask how your sister is doing now ,is she out of hospital yet ?
As the others have said i would try the Red Cross for a walker Frank ,those walkers with the seat are good but make sure you have the break on before you sit down as they run away with you . It's a shame your not closer as Colin has his walker down in the shed you could have borrowed ,it was from when he had his hip done and they didn't want it back so he thought he would store it in case in years to come he needs it .
So it's been a nice quiet day for you Gill with no workmen about ,i hope you get some snow for Sandra she will be rushing to look out the window each morning next week if you have snow forecast .
Max is flaked out on the sofa we don't hear much from him the after the children have been :-D

I thought they were staying more than a few hours Jane but couldn't remember what you'd said. I hope your back and hips are feeling better now and that everyone enjoyed the lovely meal you made.
Oh dear Ann, I hope your neighbour is okay and it's nothing serious. How are you getting on with your sorting?
Sorry to hear you had a bad nights sleep Frank, I hope you have a better one tonight. It'll be nice to have a roast cooked for you, I'm sure Ros hasn't forgotten how to do it lol. So you have a walker now, be careful though with it being on wheels.
Love the picture of Ruby Anne, what a mischievous look she has on her face.

Afternoon All,
Raining here now, but it's quite a bit warmer than yesterday.
Slept really well last night.......I must have been shattered after the previous poor night. The first thing I saw when I drew the curtains this morning was a big geen and yellow AMBULANCE parked on the road smack in front of our drive and OH's car. We kept an eye open as we showered and dressed as OH would need to leave for his match soon and would need to shuffle to and fro a lot to see if he could get his car out to go out, but eventually we saw Mrs Overall wheeled out. She was sat up and conscious, but her poor hubby looked very strained and worried. As the ambulance drove off and he followed, we saw his parents had been parked the other side of the ambulance on their drive and they drove off too. She seemed fine yesterday morning, shouting Good Morning at the top of her voice (as usual) as she hurried up the close. I hope she's ok.
What a shame Frank, you would have been welcome to either of MIL's walking frames, but along with other things,we donated them to FIL's home. She had one for upstairs and one for downstairs and I think it was the Red Cross, that Anne suggested, that provided them.
I think Ruby in your avatar picture looks full of mischief Anne! :-)
I bet all that cleaning you did yesterday has set your hip and back off Jane! Did H & G look brown after their sunny honeymoon? That's a bit close to lunch to be having a breakfast, but the walk and a light bite will have given them some time on their own together.
I think it's time for more sorting here, it's not ideal for photography so I may as well do some jobs to music instead. :-)

Still cooking !. Gareth has carved the Turkey :-D. So that is wrapped in foil now .I am trying to make room in the top oven just to keep everything hot. It is always a problem. Chris lit the fire just now and I can see us swealtering soon :-S It does look nice though. We will be wearing our paper hats soon from the crackers LOL
Frank, I think that walker will be a real help for you going around the block. You just need a smaller one for in the house . As Anne says Red Cross or Age Concern will be able to help you out with one. Don't go doing any wheelies with the one with wheels !!!!!!!.
