Yes Ann ,it will be a great experience for Hannah.I am putting off calling her at the moment .I will leave it until tomorrow or Saturday.I just don't need her to have a wobble on the phone as that will upset me.
I feel so sorry for your FIL Ann, having to be dragged out on all these appointments with MIL when he would be far better staying at home.Good that the endoscopy seems clear :-)I just think she is totally unaware of what she is putting FIL through each time she insists on him going on these hospital jaunts :-S.I guess because it has always been that way she can't see now why it should be any different.

Mmmm! I wonder what Cassie's pressies is :-D

Must get Thomas in now as I am ready for bed....See you in the morning xx

Annx Report 4 Jun 2015 20:41

I don't think I could stand 30 degrees.....phew!! It can also be very hot in San Diego at times though. My old penfriend from my teens had I think a Pepper tree in her back yard. On the photos of the trail rides she went on that she sent me the soil always looked like dust! I think if I was Hannah I'd be a wee bit nervous now, but it usually does you good to be out of your comfort zone at times. It will be a great experience for her.

MIL had her endoscopy today and was going by taxi as she insisted on taking FIL. First thing she did was not take her walker and fell headlong on the pavement outside near the taxi. We don't know why she didn't take it as her back has been very bad the last few days. Then when they got to the hospital they couldn't do the endoscopy as she'd had breakfast!! She's had one before so you'd think she'd remember, but obviously hadn't even read the instruction leaflet like OH had told her to do. So she and FIL were at the hospital over 4 hours before they could do her endoscopy and by the time they got home she said they had never felt so grim. Yet tonight she told OH she now wants FIL to go with her for the colonoscopy next week, yet she had sorted it all herself with a neighbour to sit with FIL while his wife goes with her. The good news was that the endoscopy looked clear. With the silly things they keep doing we are beginning to think they won't manage much longer, even with help. Tonight OH stressed yet again that FIL at his age and with all his health problems should only go out when necessary and for his own appointments. She kind of agrees but I know she will do the opposite. :-S

I hope you enjoy your anniversary tomorrow Mandy and have a nice meal. Yes, it will be drinks, cakes and then beads!! lol.

I see Liz is keeping schtum about what Cassie's present is and Mel has her own cereal spoon!

Off to watch the jobcentre prog we recorded now and an early night as I have to be up early tomorrow. I offered to drive my friend as her ankle is still getting better, but she is driving to Somerset in 3 weeks so needs to get it back in driving action now.

Just a very quickie. I emailed you Mel to thank you so VERY much for the present which arrived today, but I'm not sure if it reached you?!. (The email that is!!) It is fantastic, Cassie LOVES it and it was very kind of you. Next week I will take a pic and pass it round!!

Ooh sweaty wellies sound horrible Mel.They are uncomfortable things at the best of times.I hate wearing them.I always remember them rubbing my legs at the top :-S
I didn't realise you still get free gifts from Cereals Mel.Do you have to collect tokens?

I have leather settees and a leather chair.I think there are little pinpricks around the bottoms fro you know who :-S.But to be honest it is all past it;s best now and is looking quite scuff. Not that I am allowing Thomas to scrath on them.I do have a little scratch post. But he has found several places in the garden to have a good old scratch :-D

LOL Mandy that made me laugh with your son in his sweaty mac and googles. Those PVC macs did stick to you .Very uncomfortable it was too :-S
I hope the weather stays good for you tomorrow for your lunch Mandy.Whether you have to eat in or out I'm sure it will be good :-D
Where is Frank then !!!!!.Got the hump with the pooter???
No Gill today yet,and Liz will be getting ready for her visitors.

I got lots of weeding done this morning but it was so hot in the sun ,i kept stopping to have drinks and then stopping again for the loo !!

I hope Katherine has good news from the interviews ,it was good the woman who works in the Bootmakers recognized Katherine from the last time she applied .
We had a nice leather shop in the town but it has just closed and now it will be another charity shop !!

Oh i can see Thomas being banished to the summerhouse if he gets his claws into the sofa and chairs :-D :-D perhaps he needs a scratching post although that would be encouraging him to sharpen his claws !!

Still leaking Ann !! i should hope not after paying out all that money .
So it's cakes and beads day tomorrow ,in that order ? :-D :-D

That's a lot of people coming through the house Pat ,fingers crossed for a dry day and a buyer . :-)

Oh Mel i bet your legs got hot in the wellies :-D reminded me of son ,when he was little we bought him a plastic rain mac ,he only put it on when he went to bed ,fell asleep with it on and did i have a job to get it off him ,he had sweated so much it stuck to him !!! :-D :-D :-D
Another time ,he was a bit older he had some swimming goggles ,wore them at bed time ,again he fell asleep ,when i went into his room he woke up sat bolt upright in bed and said " who is it i carn't see " the goggles had all steamed up !!! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Our anniversary tomorrow ,we should be going out for lunch ,don't think we will be sitting outside ,we should have heavy showers !!

Jane

Jane Report 4 Jun 2015 17:14

LOL Pat .I hope they don't go poking around in your cupboards. Are there time slots for everyone coming view or is it possible they will all arrive at the same time? !!!!!

That will be nice tomorrow then Ann.Cakes and Beads :-D.You will be in heaven :-D

It looks like we could be in for some thunderstorms tomorrow.Although looking at the forecast it could be hit and miss. Thanks for that link to the Prem Inn site.I will try and get Chris to complain. But he is likely just to say 'oh well it is just one of those things'
I do think he should though .it sounded like he was in an oven :-S

Well I am surprised the builder hasn't presented all his paper work yet.It seems a bit odd.maybe he doesn't have claim on the gardens after all and was just trying it on.

Oh not still leaking!!! Where did you say it was coming from?

Fitz has finally got round to contacting the lady in Gt Somerford to see if she can be of any help.Fingers crossed she might just be able to come up with some more info.

Yes Thomas seems totally settled now.I have had another look today on line just to see if someone is missing him.Nothing :-DSo that is good for us.
I have a bit of Gammon ready to go in the oven so will have to keep my eye on him just in case he sniffs it out :-D
I have noticed that there don't seem to be quite as many birds coming to the feeder. Not sure if it is do do with Thomas hanging around or not .It probably is.I haven't seen any corpses though so that is a bonus. He is lying on the floor now getting a bit of breeze from the fan.He has such a thick coat.

Chris is on his way home now.He says he has spent a few bob(that will mean ££££) and says he has learned a lot so it seems like it was a success.Just so many people crowded in the marquees.I have popped a bottle of wine in to chill ready for when he gets in.I think he will need some of that :-D

I expect Hannah will be sorting out her packing and getting ready for the off on Sunday. She did say that she has a very busy week this week so might have just been doing packing bit by bit.I thought San Diego was going to be scorching but it seems to be in the low 20's so not HOT..Texas on the other hand will be well into the 30's when she gets there.Rather her than me.
Best get the Gammon in now that the oven has warmed up.

Gosh 20 viewers thats good Pat. Good luck and I hope someone really likes it enough to make an offer.

I made homemade quich (sp) for lunch after having a lot of pastry over from yesterdays pie I made a blind case too. Oh had a jacket tato with his and salad and I just had salad and a slice of bread with mine. Thanks to the bantams for lunch as I used four of their eggs. :-D :-D

Been up the border for the last 20 mins and then oh wanted a drink as he had finished mowing again. I came down to find the postman had been and oh called out that I had been waiting for this. It was my free spoon from Kell*ggs with Mel's spoon written on it and the cockrels face on the end.

Sounds like Thomas is there to stay now Jane and making himself comfy and getting to grips with the furnishings!! Literally............you will have little holes in your suit if your not carefull.

I changed into a shirt before I went up the border but did a silly thing in not changing my wellies for my gardening shoes and my little legs had a turkish bath. Going back up there for a bit more punishment now so see you all later.

Annx Report 4 Jun 2015 16:11

That sounds interesting and I bet Chris will enjoy that Jane, but it isn't the weather to be shut in a marquee. Hopefully they have some of the sides rolled up. I was looking at an art gallery an old work friend runs and lives at with her art teacher husband in Derbyshire the other night. We lost touch after she moved there 30 years ago and I have thought of contacting her before. I just don't know what I would say about her hubby's art though. The gallery is well acclaimed but her hubby seems to do that abstract type of painting that goes completely over my head!! I can never see the 'meaning' that's described!!

I see Thomas is relaxed and at 'home' now isn't he........no cares and really letting himself go!!! lol.

Good luck with the open day viewings Pat. Having a good crowd like that will help any ditherers make their minds up fast! :-)

Afternoon All,

What a lovely day! I thought no-one else was coming to beading this morning as I couldn't see the teacher's car in the carpark. It turned out that she'd changed it since last time. Four of us are going together to the bead/cake place tomorrow morning so that should be good.

I think quite a few of the Pre*ier inns have windows you can't open now Jane. It's best to ask beforehand another time. They do guarantee a good night's sleep though, so if the air conditioning didn't work properly I would ask for at least a part refund. Years ago when we stayed a night at a Pre*ier Inn there was a 'rumpus' between 2 men over a girl. It went on in the corridor for over an hour till the police came and escorted them off the premises. I got us a full refund for that night.

http://www.premierinn.com/en/terms/goodnight-terms-conditions.html

Our neighbour who's land is in dispute with the builder came round a little while ago to say that there is to be a court hearing at the end of the month as the builder hasn't produced any evidence of his ownership of the land yet. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

That was a long interview for your hubby Fiona. These days there are more and more tests! Hopefully Katherine will be successful with one of her interviews. I love the smell of leather and used to love going in the saddlers in the city years ago. There were 2 a few doors away from each other. The posh shop Parrs had saddles and bridles in one window and in the window the other side of the doorway were models dressed in black velveteen hard hats with ribbons at the back, smart jodphurs and Harris Tweed hacking jackets and yellow ties with horseshoes on.

I slept well last night but after working in the greenhouse and outside yesterday I have stiffened up today and can hardly stop yawning. Also I think I need to start my hayfever tablets again as my eyes keep streaming today. I will do a bit of watering later, but otherwise I'm doing some sitting jobs inside! :-) OH is at a meeting now so it's nice and peaceful.

I need to check and see if my car is still leaking fluid as OH reckons it is. :-S

Mandy I have got too hot now and have just had a rummage in the garage to find one of the fans.It is blowing nicely now :-D
The poor plants are all wilting out there :-S :-SI have got some of my new plants in and the Lobelia looks half dead.Hopefully now it has all been watered in they will pick up.I expect they will get another water tonight when it all cools down.

Ann Chris has gone to Patchings Art Festival.I bet that will be scorching in the Marquees.I know he was going t see a couple of demonstrations .

Fiona I'm sorry your Frank didn't get the job.You may well be right and someone already on the inside got the position.I think they legally have to advertise externally even if they know who will get the job.
Good luck to Katherine in her interviews next week..

Well Thomas has been up to high jinx.He was having a mad 5 minutes tearing around the place like crazy.Running being the settee and up over the back and then behind the other settee grabbing the curtains.he got a good shouting at then I can tell you. :-S :-S
He does seem to sleep an awful lot of the time.

I had a job getting on to GR this afternoon.Has anyone else had trouble? I see Frank has been hitting that wrong button again LOL

Time for an ice cold drink now ..I wish I has some ice lollies in the freezer.

Morning All, Evening Kim.

Happy Anniversary to Frank & Ros,

Been a week for interviews, My Frank had a 3 hour interview on Monday at McVities- factory which is owned by United Biscuits, Glasgow ,it was for a promotional Manager's job, but they have already e-mailed him last night to tell him that he didn't get the job, could be someone who already works there ??? who knows,

Katherine had 2 interviews on Tuesday in Glasgow one for a supervisor's job but more hours, and one for a assistant manager, not sure which was for which but the first one was at 11.00 at Remnant Kings which is a fabric & sewing shop, and the other at 1.00 was Jones the Bootmakers,I think Katherine really likes this shop , you can smell the leather as you open the door, the woman who already works there recognized Katherine from the last time there was a vacancy and Katherine applied , so thats good news , Katherine must have made a good impression, and the shop is only 2 or 3 doors up from where she works now.
so we are all keeping our fingers crossed she manages to get one of the jobs,

Morning all,

Phew i've just come for a cold drink ,i've been out in the garden weeding and it's so warm out my face is like a beetroot !!

There's nothing worse than being hot and not being able to have a bit of fresh air into the room, i hope he complained about it Jane.
Sounds as if Thomas is really settled with you now :-)

Perhaps it would be better to just write little bit post that and then do a bit more Frank, so annoying when it happens ,i've done it too!!
Right i'd better get out and do bit more .

Chris said he had a dreadful nights sleep in the Premie* In*.Not because the bed and pillows were uncomfortable because he said they were lovely but the fact the windows were triple glazed and couldn't be opened and he couldn't lower the temperature on the controls in the room either :-S
I had quite a good night :-D :-D.So did Thomas :-D :-D.He was still asleep when James came downstairs at 7.
Right things to do now so will BBL

Morning all and evening Kim,

Cor I typed the n at the end of evening and it came out three times! after not coming out at all when I first hit the n key.

Sunshine and white clouds in the blue sky today and a bit of a breeze so the clouds are passing over the sun.

One of the baby Blue Tits has drowned in the soak trays underneath the nest box. Boo hoo. We saw them yesterday at the hole and thought they would fledge today but they must have done it very early. Such a shame when that happens but I suppose thats nature.

Happy anniversary Frank and Ros. Sorry it's late but I hav'nt been on here today till now from this morning.

Surprising what a sunny day can do to you as I have got on so well today.

I too have been busy all day. Two lots of washing out on the line both washed this morning and both lots in tonight dry. went up the village and posted the parcel to Cassie.

Oh has been mowing all day so the pc's were both off and I could hoover which I did every room with breaks inbetween. The hoover only knocked the leccy out 4 times today so four times I had to walk right through the bungalow to turn the leccy back on again.

Washed all the hog bowls and put the tom plants outside the shed again but they went back in tonight. Cooked steak pie again from scratch and that always takes a time to cook the meat etc first and then make the pastry. We are now both stuffed to the gills.

The Robin is still feeding his babies so they must have had more luck this time. I think they are in the ivy and montana clematis in the corner of what we call the back garden just along from Prickly Hollow.

We did stop this morning for a cuppa out by the pond and thats only the second time we have sone that this year.

Now I am going in the shower to ease these aching bones.

DIL came for a cuppa this afternoon ,little Lewis was awake so i had my cuddle with him, my goodness he's a little wriggler and he weighs a ton now ,you certainly know you have him on your lap.

Hubby is building an extension for a chap who works away on the wind turbines ,his wife was telling hubby today that he and his mates had a day off yesterday and they all went to Alton Towers , they had been on that ride that crashed only half an hour before !! how lucky were they !!

Do you really want more beads Ann or is it the lure of all the those lovely cakes ;-) :-D :-D LOL
It was nice of the chap to offer to chop the blackthorn tree back for you .
