Morning all, Evening Kim,

Well the sun is shining and the wind has dropped off.

Had a Skype from Jan this morning saying she is considering either staying out with Conrad, so she is there for us when we go out, or come back for a week or so and go out again. She is concerned that we will be stuck in the apartment all day while Conrad is a work. If she's there she can take us out and about.

Had a real surprise this morning, not only did I get a kiss, but got a watch and a new COMPUTER from Ros for our Anniversary. 37 years. ( I would have been out of prison 20 years ago for MURDER :-D :-D :-D :-D)

Ann, I am sure the HOME HELP will put their foot down with MIL. She just can't dictate to people who are trying to help them. But by what you say. THAT WON'T STOP HER.

Yes Pat I remember you saying you were close to the M 1 / Airport. Ros said the new road is wonderful. Three lanes each way.

The SAGA of the credit cards has come to light. It appears that JAN found Ros's Barcla# card in her purse !!! She thinks it's because last time we were down there. they went shopping, and Jan put her ASDA card down and Ros put her Barcla# card down to pay for the shopping. Jan must have picked them both up and put them in her purse. Ros told her to chop it up as she had got new ones.

How long do you think you will keep Thomas, before you call him yours Jane ?? By the sounds of things, HE HAS MADE UP HIS MIND. !!!!

Well Mel, it saved you having to "dispose" of the bunnies, by them getting drowned.

Did anyone see the programme about the pests in your house. I went to bed scratching my head, and body. LOL I haven't seen a silver fish since I was a child..
I told Ros to hoover the mattress next time she changes the sheets ;-) ;-) ;-)

Looking forward to our meal out tonight. They have a lovely restaurant and an excellent menu. and SHE'S WORTH IT <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Morning all and evening Kim,

Nice morning here and the winds dropped. We have sunshine and some blue sky which we hav'nt seen for a few days now.

Ann I don't put any bait in the rabbit trap thats the funny thing. It is just set to go off when they get up the end and tread on the raised mesh plate. It is on the ground on a load of sparse weeds at the side of oh's workshop where he put weed killer down last year because the weeds had grown through some old chicken netting we had there and could'nt pick up because the weeds grew through it.

I hope you get that attendance allowance for MIL and FIL. I had it for mum but we had a devil of a job filling the forms out and a lady came down to the house and told us how to fill them out. It has to be 40 hours a week or something like that. Lets just hope MIL accepts the help this time. She must realise she can't do certain things now like she used to and neither can FIL at his ripe age.

I may get into the garden today if it stays nice, who knows but I do have hip ache today after shopping yesterday and my left knee keeps giving my jip every now and then like I have twisted it. I don't think I could have got another item of shoppingin one of those smaller trollys yesterday and was worried once it was in the bags that I would'nt get it back in the trolly and I even had two bags hanging on the hook bit at the front.

Morning All,

OH has another trip to his mum's this morning and has taken a wad of paper he's printed off that is the forms to claim Attendance Allowance. Gawd knows how much they will cost to post being A4 size and for the 2 forms about half an inch thick! He's tried to get them filled in several times, but every time he does it MIL cancels things so the information given is wrong. :-S With persistent chivvying they have agreed to have carers in to do the shopping and some cooking, at least while MIL's back is so bad so we'll see how long that lasts. I can't imagine anyone will cook the way they have things or manage to shop for the exact things they have and they don't 'do' compromise on anything. Far from being grateful, they would expect things to be taken back and changed if they were eg the wrong brand. It's only been the last year or two that they would have meat from a supermarket, it always had to be from a butcher's shop.

Mandy, what a lot of barrows you have! lol. I expect your hubby needs a few though with the work he does. :-) Mel I know what you mean about tipping them forward and that bar thing, I find the barrow shoots forward as you try to get it up onto the bar! We need to have a narrow one too to get it through the side gate to the car boot to unload stuff like compost. I have noticed some have 2 front wheels as well, so I think we need to go to places like B*Q and have a testing session next.

That silly bantam getting trapped in there again Mel. She must really like the bait you put in there for the rabbits!! lol Maybe the mother rabbit will go and build her nest elsewhere now it has been flooded. Shame about the little kits though, they are so cute.

Frank, fancy doing the catflap sideways! Mind you when you are concentrating on marking holes etc it is easy to overlook getting it the right way up I suppose! When OH and his dad put our shed up, in the 10 minutes I came inside to get a cuppa, they managed to put the hinges on the wrong edges of the 2 doors so the sides were in the middle!

I am waking early these light and sunny mornings too Pat, but don't often get early!

Well, I'd better get this free chicken ready for the oven next and do the rest of the veg (OH did the carrots and potatoes before he went). Then I want to plant a few plants and sort more of the things in the greenhouse. Better do that before it's too hot in there. BBL

Pat this cat is one that just appeared in a flurry last tuesday.I was having lunch outside and it suddenly ran across the lawn and onto the table !!!!!.heading straight for the cold meat.I have had him checked for a microchip but there isn't one.He has been neutered and is in good health, probably about 3-4 yrs.
I got up at 4.15 to come down and check there were no accidents and he was sitting on the chair looking at me.I put him out at 5.30 the went back to bed for an hour.
I think I need another cuppa.
It looks a much better day today :-D

Morning all
I have been awake since 6. The sun shines though the bedroom window. I'm not usually awake this early in the winter.
My turn to let the dogs out lol

I will have to try and catch up with what has been happening

Do you have a rescue cat Jane or is this your own. I always used to have cats. Before we had the dogs. They are our first ones.

Mel Your bantams are still going then.

Frank. I like Tuesday night. On TV. But then I like my soaps lol. I live about 5 miles from the airport. So know the motorway well

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Jun 2015 21:53

When I let the bantams out tonight and then went round to corn the chickens just after there in the rabbit trap was a bantam AGAIN I just could'nt beleive it as it was the same one as before. You would have thought she had learnt her lesson the first time so I have had to leave it shut now.

The other thing is the rabbit had had more kittens in the same burrow in the big girls run and with all this rain it has killed the kits. They were flooded. Tonight when I shut them in there was a dead kit at the hole. Mum is about so whether she had gone to them and dug it out I don't know.

LOL Frank how the heck did you manage to put a cat flap sideways????.Yes i know the high jump flop .
We won't even consider any cat flap until we are sure Thomas will be staying.I think it is still early days and there may be someone out there missing him.

Chris has gone to bed and I am now following.I will leave James to settle puss .I have a feeling it may well be a disturbed night again. But my fingers and everything else will be firmly crossed.

Frank Report 2 Jun 2015 21:05

Well what a boring evening I have had. I have played games on my Kindle since 7.00 pm. What with the soaps and Holby City.

Wind is still quite strong here, but they say it will be a good day Friday. We will wait and see.

Glad Thomas has got over his little upset. When are you putting the Cat FLAP In. ?? Don't do what I did and put it in SIDEWAYS. I never lived that down. I had to replace the bottom panel in the back door. The lads up the club said your poor cat will have to do the FLOSBY FLOP to get into your house. If you remember he was the chap that changed the way the high jump was done :-D :-D :-D

I hear now there is something on the T.V. about the pests we get in our house. Bed bugs, cockroaches, mice, rats etc. Don't know if I will want to watch that. !!!!

I'm ready for bed now, so if I don't like the programme I will go to bed and read.

Mel ,I think you said where your Mums sister lives in Bideford .But I have forgotten. That was nice that you were able to give her a lift home :-D

Gill I am also a right old softie when it comes to cats(dogs too) but I grew up with cat called Peter, and then when new first married I had a rescue cat we called Solo. Then she went we have had 2 dogs, but I have always wanted another cat.The reason why we had dogs here instead of cats was just because of the road.Just hope Thomas (if he stays with us ) stays away from the front of the house. You just never know with cats where they will roam.

Ann you were clever to reset you display thing in the car.I wouldn't have a clue how to do that .Like Mandy I haven't changed the time on the clock in the car .In fact I have never changed it in any car I have had.I just wait for the clocks to change one way or the other lolSo at some point in the year it does show the correct time :-D

Cat is back in and it seems to be playtime !!.

Ann oh bought me a plastic one as the metal ones keep rusting out but I find it hard to tip stuff out of it. The first plastic one he bought me had that bar that goes round the front of the wheel and I could'nt tip taht one either. The best little barrow I have had was a light weight square galvanised one. I am still using mums one we bought her. I wanted the plastic one because the chicken muck rots the metal ones out bu tI still go back to the metal one as it has'nt that bar in front of the wheel and if I tip it out I can lift it up by its legs easily as it is light.

Evening all

Very windy here today but thankfully we've had lots of sunshine too. Good weather to dry my washing but had to put extra pegs on it to stop it blowing away :-D :-D Unlike last night, what terrible weather it was, very stormy and more like winter than summer :-( :-(.

Glad to hear Thomas doesn't have anymore flees, so he's back to being called Thomas now then. I guess you won last night or should I say Thomas won with him sleeping on your bed rather than in the kitchen or the summerhouse. So he's the new boss of the household now ;-) by the looks of it <3. I'm a big softy where cat's are concerned and have had mine sleeping in our room before now.

You asked about our property Jane and weather it's still on the market. We are going to keep it on the market until the 4 and a half years are up and look into a re-mortgage incase we might need it. That way we can stop worrying about the financial side of things and enjoy living here. Our property has been on the market over 5 years already so another 4 and a half years won't make any difference to us. I think it needs to be reduced before it will sell as property prices have dropped considerably since we first put it on the market.

I've decided to have a good sort out here and throw a lot of things away as we have collected so much stuff over the years and to be honest I can't remember half the stuff we have in the loft and garage, so a good sort out is needed. All Michelle's stuff is no longer here apart from a few bits in the garage which she is going to go through on her next visit, which we think is going to be in September. Let's hope the weather improves by then.

I like the pictures of your glass Ann, you are clever but what a palaver you had to go through to get it and then to find you think something is missing.......Did you remember what was missing in the end and do you think you'll get it back?
Glad to hear your car is ok now and that the light was nothing serious, it must of been a worry until you worked out what it was.

It sounds like you've all got high winds too with all the bins flying all over the place. It looks like we might get some rain soon it's gone very cloudy and dark. Luckily OH managed to cut the grass yesterday before we had all the rain. Just caught on the news that flaming June is on the way, lets hope so.

Off to get something to eat now, I quite fancy some baked potatoes, haven't had them for a while and Sandra quite likes them too....just have to think of something to go with them.

Back from shopping and on the way home coming round by the end of the quay I spied aunty Joy. I pulled in and gave her a lift home as she lives right up a very steep hill. Saved her getting a taxi which she usually does and it's the first time I have seen her since Christmas. She looks so well. Her little cat was waiting for her when she opened the front door.

Hope Kim's had a great day today.

Ann I thought you were going to try a dragonfly but must have got mixed up.

Weather cleared up here just as I went out at nearly 2pm and the sun came out but the wind was still blowing and still is.

The wind got worse this afternoon ,i'am glad i didn't have to go out any where ,it has stopped raining now and i can see lovely blue sky between the clouds .

Hope Ros got home ok Frank ,i should think it was a bit dicey driving on the motor way with those big lorries coming up beside you.
This wind will spoil all the flowers it's such a shame ,i notice a big bit of one of my plants in a pot has been broken off in the wind . :-(

We still haven't changed the time of the clock in the car we are an hour behind !! at least you know how to reset your date Ann ,son usually does ours and each time i see him i forget to ask him to do it .
Come and take your pick of wheel barrows here Ann ,hubby has eight !! but they are not plastic ones ,when they wear out he just replaces the buck :-D

No rain here today Mandy. But the wind seems worse than yesterday.Thomas just seems t want to sleep all day,but after he has had his dinner he will be chucked out for a few hours.I think tonight I will leave him in the lounge as he is now very used to sleeping in here and fingers crossed he might settle for the whole night.....I can only hope :-D.I feel quite weary now after last night lol.
No chance of getting anything done outside again today.I was going to put new compost in the stone pots in the front garden ready for the Geraniums and Lobelias, but I think it would have been blowing all over the place so that is tomorrows job.Chris is going to be away tomorrow and tomorrow night. He is going to some art thingy somewhere near Nottingham and decided it was best to stay over night.

I bet Ros was glad to get back from the airport trip Frank. You just never know what the journey will be like .It seems this past week there have been some nasty accidents on the M11 and M1.....One was a lorry carrying 7and a half ton of Teddy Bears :-D

Pat it will be nice to choose all your own fittings etc in your your new home.It will be your own personal touch :-D.I know when we moved here many years ago and we didn't have the money to change many things I hated living with someone elses choice of curtains , carpets ,wall paper etc.it has taken us since 1991 to finally do it !!!!!..Mind you we have had a fair bit done to the house in one way or the other and outside too.
Now I am looking around and really think my kitchen needs updating :-D But if I am honest i don't think I could stand any more upheaval yet.
At least Pat you will be able to move straight in to a beautiful brand new home :-D.Where will you be going?.I might have missed you saying.I hate it when posts come up and you just don't see them as they have slipped in without being noticed.
I can't see Hannah having a Granny Annexe for us in years to come lol.I think seeing all the trouble Fitz had with his Mum will have put her right off.But it sounds like it will be a great success for you :-D.
We actually have lots of blue sky here now :-D :-D

Well, that's my piggy bank lighter by over £200 to fix my car leak! I got about halfway home with it and noticed the display was flashing. No error message, just flashing. I stopped when I found where to pull up and restarted the car and it was still flashing so started driving back to the garage. Then the penny dropped when I saw the display said 2003!! They must have disconnected the battery and it had messed up the date. As soon as I reset it it was fine. Phew!! Same as you saw Frank, bin day and plastic recycling bags they use in the city were blowing onto the roads.

I picked up the £5 chicken from M*S that I got free on the way back. We'll have that tomorrow with veggies and new pots. :-) It will suit OH as we can have it early as he has a meeting at 2.00pm.

We need a new wheelbarrow as the old metal one has just about had it. We were thinking of a plastic one as we don't need to move much heavy stuff anymore and could leave that outside behind the shed. I wondered if anyone else has used a plastic one and found it ok?

Mel, I saw the pretty fused glass bowl with dragonflies around it at an exhibition when I went to Snibston's to do a jewellery class session. Now I have got more of the hang of cutting and can see how to go about it etc I might try a dragonfly another time. :-)

Just heard from Ros. She has dropped Jan off at Luton and is on her way home. Junction 10 is open again on the M 1. So no trouble getting there for us in two weeks.

I'm sure that wind must be gusting to 50 mph. I went down to feed the birds and there were steps blown over by the shed empty watering cans floating in the pond. All the clematis blossom has been blown off and is covering the lawn.

The Rooks and Jackdaws are having a right old scrap to get at the food I have put out. The poor starlings and sparrows aren't getting a look in.

Better get the kettle on, as Madam won't be too long now before she is home.

Afternoon all

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM " I hope you have a good one.

This blooming wind is enough to blow you over. It's bin day today, and when we went off to get my haircut, there were bins everywhere. The little food bins were flying up the road, as they are so light, they have no resistance. Even the big bins were being blown over.

I got the anniversary card as well :-D :-D :-D So won't be in the dog house ;-) ;-) ;-)

Jan arrived about 12.30. They have set off now as she want's to do some CLOTHS SHOPPING before going to the airport. The airport junction on the M 1 is still closed. So they will have to follow the diversion signs. Hope they do better that when we picked up John and Carolyn. That took us HOURS. !!!

Fleabag seems to know how to get out of "LOCKED DOORS" then Jane. He knows where to go to get comfy for the night ;-) ;-) BLESS HIM.

Ros will ring me when she leaves the Airport. I haven't thought about dinner, so will find something quick and easy in the freezer. I will nip out now to see what there is.. That's that done. Pork Loin Steaks.. Will do chips and Corn on the cob. SORTED.

Pat you are well organised with your furniture and things, you won't need. We have still got box's in the garage from when we moved down here 17 years ago. The children will have a great time sorting that lot when the time comes.. I can't see me doing it anytime soon ;-) ;-) ;-)

Time for a read and 40 winks, so see you all later. STAY UPRIGHT if you are going out !!!
