I wonder if it is the weather as neither Chris or me feel motivated either.Seems like we all feel like it.maybe it is the wind blowing all the pollen around.I know has been sneezing like mad.
Frank it was James who decided to call the cat Thomas.I would have gone for something different. But now he looks like a Thomas . Chris called me to to the garden earlier when he was cutting the lawn to ask if what he was looking at was cat sick ..Yes it was his breakfast.Yuk.There was something else in it too which might have been a fur ball. Then again it could have been mouse.I think more likely a fur ball.He is always grooming. So he has had a pouch with fish for his tea instead of meat as fish will be easier digested.Lets hope all stays down tonight He slept from 8.30 last night until just after 7.30 this morning when he came up to the bedroom to give me a good loving ..Obviously wanting feeding lol
Sausages and Buffalo Burgers tonight with what is left over from the rice and lentil dish I did yesterday, plus the spicy tomato sauce I did ,and I think Spring Greens. So not too much to actually do

Well we have finally got home after taking our visitors to finish their trip with mutual friends. The visit to us was a great success, but as you said Mandy, entertaining, cooking vegetarian (!!) meals, going on trips, and appearing bright and breezy ALL the time, can be very tiring, so for the next day or two we shall, as they say, chill out!! Cassie was such a good girl, and our friends adored her. Now she is digging a large hole outside our back door!!! Son's partner has emailed, wanting to take me out for the day to look round Wells Cathedral and have lunch, they also want to take us out for the evening on OH's birthday in July. The answer to both of these ideas is Yes Please! Glad Hannah arrived safely Jane. Elder granddaughter flew back from Slovakia yesterday. It's always nice to know that they are safe.

Well dinner is already and the meat is in the over. That will tick along 'till 6 ish. It should just fall apart. It's smelling really nice, it's making me hungry.
Ros is still on the patio. She has trimmed all the plants that have gone over. Transplanted a couple of others into larger pots, now sweeping up, I have been out and told her it's time to come in. She will be complaining about her back now. But as she rightly says, if she doesn't do it who will
Still mentioned about getting a new patio laid next year. I said your SON promised a new one all those years ago and we are still waiting. I will have a word with "PADDY" and see what it will cost. Too much no doubt.
Turned out to be a nice afternoon. The wind has dropped away, and it's quite nice out there.
Like you Mel, I couldn't get going today, so I have DONE NOTHING. !!!!

I can't get motivated today. I have done a bit of sweeping up outside my shed, fed all the chickens and bantams and wild birds and now I am sat here it's time to get some lunch on the go.
Loved the Moorhen story Frank. They are such funny little birds.

So pleased that Hannah has arrived safely.
Not very warm in doors, mind you I am in shorts. Ros has decided to finish off a bed at the back of the greenhouse. I just don't seem to have any energy or desire to go out there today.
I have got a tray of stewing steak out of the freezer, That's sitting in a bowl of water to thaw. I will put that in gravy in the oven for a good two/three hours, We will have mash and a selection of veg with it, about 6.00 pm.
I am sitting reading my book, but my eyes keep wanting to shut !!! so have left it for a while.
Better go and see if the worker needs a drink or anything

Morning all, Evening Kim,
Pat it's not only your battery needing a re-charge. Both Ros and I feel our batteries HAVE RUN OUT !!! I have said it's an easy day today. We will see.
Yes I thought it was a "DUCK" but was a little unsure the way it laid,!!
Trust you have heard from Hannah this morning, I trust she had a good flight, and arrived at her destination safely. The little bell seems to be working on Thomas. Have you given him that name from the cartoon series ???
All go now then Pat. How long do you think it will take to get it all sorted ??
Mel, What a lovely sight that must have been. Any photo's yet ??
I remember some years back I was driving through a Country lane, when a Moorhen popped out of the grass verge, with a string of babies following. She crossed the road (I HAD STOPPED) and on the other side was a slight bank . She jumped up, but the babies were unable to, So I got out on the car and helped them all up the bank, and away they went. There was an irate driver behind me blowing his hooter. I just glared at him and continued on my way !!!!
I am lost for words regarding your In-Laws Ann, They just WON'T take any notice of what your OH says to them. If they play up with Social Services, someone will put their foot down.
No Gill yesterday, I trust all is well at home
Nice morning here again, slight breeze, but I don't think it will be cold. Lots of white clouds and a bit of blue.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Bright and sunny yet again today. I lay in bed this morning watching one small white cloud drift and change shape past my side window. Looked away for the time and back and it had gone completely.
Want to see if I can get in the garden and up the border today.
Hope Jane has heard from Hannah just to know she has arrived safely.

Morning all.
I feel like I'm in limbo now. All the paperwork for the sale of ours has been filled in and sent of to the varies people. We are using the solicitor that the estate agent has. Much easier to be under one umbrella so they say.
My daughter sent me a photo of the empty garage last night that we are having knocked down A Wider and longer building is being built.
This should be being knocked down as I type lol if they turned up in time.

Jane, I forgot to say that I hope Hannah has a good trip. Is it a business trip? I think you said she was going to Houston also. Their weather has settled down now. but they had some flooding earlier in the spring. I expect she will find it odd to see the men wearing western gear. Many businessmen wear light coloured summer suits cut in western style, with the boots and cowboy hats. The boots and hats are everyday wear for most men.
Mel, I haven't had feet as small as yours since I was a girl
Thankyou all for your pictures. I liked your little finger puppets Fiona, and Ann's glass art. How talented you all are.
Beetroot cake sounds strange, but there was a time when we wouldn't have imagined such a thing as a carrot cake would we? I think that once you add the sugar and probably spices, then you may not even taste the vegetable.
I had some scrumptious fresh corn on the cob the other day. I love having all the fresh veg. If I don't have it in my garden, I go to the farmer's market for it.

Hello all,
I've just skimmed through the posts from the past few days. I didn't even turn the pooter on for a few days as I knew the Server was making changes - making things much faster apparently. We shall see about that
It sounds as though your house will be sold very quickly then Pat, How nice to be having a brand new place. My OH had an aunt and uncle some years ago, who sold up and moved to Myrtle Beach where their son lived. The son had a two-car attached garage and they got permission to have it renovated, and it was just perfect for the parents. It had two small bedrooms, a large bathroom (the uncle used a walker), small LR and a little kitchenette. They are both gone now. The uncle was one of the very early heart transplant patients.
Now I wish Gill would have some luck with her house. It's going to happen one day Gill, so stay positive.
I've picked all my peas and pulled the vines out, and have started picking the bush beans, I have also pulled my garlic out and have it drying. My lettuce are all finished - the last ones started to bolt. I really did enjoy them. I won't be able to plant again until later in the summer.
I know what you mean Frank about it getting away from you, especially after having some rain.
Your in-laws need lots of patience don't they Ann? They've been together for a long time and must be totally dependent on one another emotionally. How is your mother in law going to cope with the necessary prep. prior to her colonoscopy?
I'm glad your weather is improving. A friend from church left Friday for a trip to England. She was so excited and had been planning it for about two years, so I was hoping the weather would be decent.

Mums last dog Tess could know all her toys by name and if you put them in a line on the floor and said Green frog she would go and pick that one up then you said ted she would go to that one and so on.
Ann the new group sounds fun and I hope you enjoy it rather than having to teach everyone else perhaps you may be able to learn something too.
I just can't get over your MIL. She should'nt be aloud to cancel carers coming surely? Poor FIL not being able to have a lie in.
Mandy it sounds like Chelsea hada really great time on Friday night. I expect she knew lots of other girlsfriends there and of course the teachers. Can you imagine looking after that lot all night? Not something I would like to do.
Hope Hannah arrives safely. Will she have a sleep on the flight?

Evening All,
That sounds like a successful day with the viewings Pat and good you have offers already.
Well the toy is a good choice for a Spaniel Mel. At least she will know what one looks like now and seems to be enjoying playing with it. I bet the Pheasant chicks were lovely to see with their mum. I wondered if my greenhouse would get enough light when we put it up as there is a 6 foot fence a couple of feet behind it and the shed is next to it one side about 3 feet away, and the path with trellis along it in front. about 3 feet away, but it has been fine. You'd think you'd have a space for a little one somewhere with all your land wouldn't you Mel. I got all those bead colours you said as well as copper colour and silver and red.
Oh Frank, fancy your neighbour not even saying sorry for cutting the cable! It sounds like you will just have to grab a handful of your veg and serve up 'MIXED VEG' if you can't see what's what.
It's good Chelsea enjoyed her night away. I would have been far too shy to do that at her age. Bonnie sounds like she was a clever girl Mandy, knowing all her toys.
We had a call from MIL last night to go and cheer FIL up today. As if OH hadn't spent enough time there last week. When we got there we found them both climbing the stairs and not using the stairlift. They said it wasn't quick enough when they need the toilet, but when I asked why they didn't use it to come downstairs after, when they are at most risk of falling, they couldn't answer. We think they are just too impatient because it moves slowly. She is in pain with her back since falling over when she didn't use her walker but has ditched the painkillers the doctor gave her after half a day as they didn't suit. She said her head felt like sponge with them. Then while she was out of the room FIL said he wants some company as he gets lonely?? He said when MIL sleeps in her chair he has no-one to talk to?? With carers 3 times a day, a gardener, cleaner, hairdresser and chiropodist calling they've never had so much company, but they have such rigid routines he can't adapt to the slightest change now. The carer couldn't come this morning as she was ill, so rather than wait till 9.00am for another to come and help dress FIL, MIL cancelled it and helped him herself although she's been told not to by the doctor because of her back. When OH asked why he couldn't stay in bed a bit longer and then get up and have his breakfast in his dressing gown till they came, he said you have to get up when you are awake, you can't lie in bed when you are awake can you. I bet he's never had a lie in in his life.
I hoovered all my car out and wiped the seats this afternoon. The garage mechanics had got greasy fingermarks all over the visors and there were greasy patches on the roof lining where their heads had been as I have the seat high up. Not all of it would come off either.
Early start tomorrow, I need to shower before the window cleaner arrives as I'm going to a new beading group with a friend. You only pay for the days you go and everyone shares patterns and helps teach each other different things as it isn't run by a teacher.

LOL Mandy I don't envy the teachers/parents with all those children on a sleep over at school.I bet they were all shattered.Very exciting for the children though
I haven't seen any more 'kills' and I can certainly hear the tinkle of the bell ,so hope all the birds do too .This is his wakeful time so i have put him out for a bit and told James to try and give him a bit of a run around.I've done my bit.
I think I am gong to go up to bed soon. Not much I fancy on the TV,so will have a good read.I think Hannah stll has about another 6and a half hours in the air and then however long after that it takes to get to where she is staying. She will probably send a text.My phone will be beside me tonight so hope to hear it ping (have to turn the ringer right down so Chris doesn't moan ). it will be nice if we have another good day tomorrow .We have had the lounger seats out on the lawn and Chris has spent hours on one reading this afternoon,in his shorts and espadrilles. Looked like he was on holiday.
I'll see you all again in the morning .Night Night for now

Evening all,
It's been a beautiful day here ,the wind has dropped so it's been much warmer today, we have been out in the garden pottering and getting our jobs done . Son and family came first thing ,Chelsea was telling us all about her sleep over that she had at the school on friday night , two classes were staying over night ,she said they were late going to sleep as they watched a DVD til ten o'clock and then when they should have settled down children kept wanting the loo !! she had fun and it was her first time away from home for the night .
So now we know it's a DUCK !!! Toby has never been interested in toys ,but Bonnie our first dog loved her toys each one had a name and if you asked her to bring a certain one she knew which one to get ,it could be at the bottom of the basket and she would pull all the others out to get to the one you asked her for .
Goodness Pat that's a lot of buyers , sounds very promising if you'd had people putting bids in over the asking price .
Is the bell doing it's job on Thomas's collar ? has he caught any more feather friends ? I can see you having a restless night Jane worrying until you hear from Hannah ,i'd be just the same .
Phew i need to go and shut my bedroom windows up some one has a stinky bonfire !!

Afternoon All Beautiful day here too Pat that sounds a really successful day and especially having bids over the asking price
Frank.I see on the news the awful leaking of fuel into the Canal near you it is shocking to think it was done deliberately .it sounds like it chaos with people being evacuated from the their boats and people arriving for their holidays on boats.Hopefully that been able to contain the fuel from going further in the canal. SOMEONE NEEDS LOCKING UP ..Then there are all the fish and plants etc
Hannah will be sitting in Heathrow now waiting for her flight at 3.30..I expect it will hot and heaving there I am keeping myself busy ,trying not to think that she might be having one of her panic things.I will be fine once I now she has arrived at her first accommodation.Which will be about 3am our time.
Just cooking Fried Onions to go in that Lentil and Rice dish BBL
