Oh Ruby I have just read the whole of your post>(don't know why I missed it all) That story of your friend and her gun !!!!!! WOW...and her false leg LOLOL.That made me laugh. Chris's Dad had an artificial leg. After Fred died Chris had to go and clear the house. My BIL went with him as my two were so young so i had to stay here.Well in the loft they discovered one of Fred's old Artificial legs...........Chris only went and left it in the loft ,so heaven knows what kind of shock the new owners had when they discovered it !!!!!!.I was cross with Chris for leaving it up there ,,,but still had a giggle .
Frank I must have missed the post about Ros loosing her bank cards.I saw she has lost cards but didn't know what you were on about.(this must have happened when I was away.).Hope it all gets sorted .What a palaver :-S..These things happen....don't be too hard on her :-D..I seem to remember you loosing a fair number of things LOL

OH cooking supper tonight, which is something of a relief as I am 'cream crackered'!! Farrier just gone, so Merlin now has some smart new shoes!! Cas has had her walk and her supper, and is asleep in her crate, which is a good thing as the wind is getting up and it looks very black!! Early night again for us (it is most nights!) 10.o'clock and we're all on our way to bed, bit of telly, and that's us tucked up for the night!!

Ruby, one of my Sister's dogs behaved like your Lucy when he got old.He would stand in a corner just looking at the wall or stand in the middle of the lawn and stare at nothing.I hope her leg and mouth heal up quickly.
Gill we have had no rain here today although it is looking like we may get some.I don't think it is forecast though. You have been busy.I expect you have had your nice relaxing bath by now :-D
I have got very little done today, what with the cat and what not lol.I'm afraid my resolve not to feed him didn't last very long :-S.I really think he was hungry,so went to Fitz and got some of Podges dry cat food and some cat milk.Well I have never seen food disappear so fast !!!!!!....I had to shut him out of the kitchen as he was on the work surface trying to sniff out the Chicken Breasts I had there.Chris is caving in very quickly lol.He was doing a bit of painting in the summerhouse with Puss on the settee on the blanket. He has agreed to leave the door of the summerhouse open a little tonight :-D :-D...He said just this once.....Then he said if it came to it and we didn't find where the cat comes from we could possibly have a catflap into the back porch bit.was flabbergasted....We will just sweet happens. But I am so pleased to have a little 'pet ' about again :-D even if it is just for a while. I see they are both back out in the Summerhouse :-D :-D

Well we are both bugger##. I did my back lawn this morning and Tony's front lawn. It has never looked so good. He has grass growing in his gravel that must be 8 inches high. I have also put in the new line in. What a job that was. making a hole deep enough for the bit that goes in the lawn .Ros has been on the front garden all day, and planted loads more small plants.
I have also stuffed the chicken for dinner tonight, together with the veg.(Not stuffed the VEG) LOL LOL Just prepared it.
Ros is on to the bank regarding her lost cards and is getting in a right old state, they are asking so many questions. I have taken over the conversation, and it looks like she doesn't have a card for this A/C. She is now onto Barclaycard. So will see what that results in. I am peed off to the eyeballs with all this. WHY CAN'T SHE LOOK AFTER THINGS :-( :-( :-(
Well it looks like you have a new house mate then Jane. How long will you keep it before giving it legal adoption.???
Nice to see you posting Ruby. I had to smile about your fried with the gun !!! Good job no one got hurt. :-D :-D :-D I would think an intruder would have more sense than approach her house with all those guns.
Gill it looks like the rain you are getting is coming this way, it's getting very overcast. Do I water or not, that is the question.
Chicken smelling nice, I had better go and start the veg, ready for 5.45/6.00 pm dinner.
Will look at your photo now Jane.!!

Lovely pics Jane, so glad you had a good few days away. Loads of b.....y weeding today!! Also cleaned the kitchen cupboards!! So much for a peaceful day!! The chap from the farm down the road came up this morning and took a load of stones and rubble away from a corner in our field. It looks so clean and tidy now and has exposed a nice solid concrete base almost like a small yard! Farrier just arrived, so I'm taking Cassie for her evening constitutional!! Washing all done, folded up and put away. No ironing!!!!

That's the potatoes and veg done ready for later. Ruby I missed your post earlier. Sorry to hear about your dog and hope she gets better soon, the poor thing doesn't sound to well. How old is she? The story of the artificial leg had be in stitches, the way you tell a story is so funny.
Isn't that a lovely photo of you and your teacher Jane, definitely one to treasure and the one of the sunset would make a lovely picture wouldn't it.
Well, I'm off to run a hot bath now my neck is a bit sore I have over 200 pot plants in my garden and decided to move a few of them around and some of them were a bit heavy for me.....I know I should of waited for OH, never mind it's all done now and looks much better, I was going to water the garden but mother nature is doing it for me ;-) ;-) forgot to water the greenhouse so will wait and see if the rain calms down a bit and do it later.

Well, the rains started so that's put paid to anymore gardening for today. I've broke the back of it so that's good and all my washing is dried so even better, just off to sort out the potatoes and veg now for dinner, then a nice hot bath and settle down to watch a bit of TV. Missed a call from the estate agent but I'm sure they'll ring back if it's important.
very quiet on here today BBL

Hello all,
What lovely pictures Ann took on her hols. The one of you and your old teacher Jane, is really super. How amazing to look so well at that age. Your teacher I mean :-D :-D Bless her heart. So nice that you were able to go and see her. You look fantastic too Jane <3 :-D
So everyone is back from the west country. Do you remember the Ad on TV years ago ..... ". Coates comes up vrom Zummerzet, Where the zider apples grow".
Cassie sounds so sweet. My old Lucy has been having a poorly time. She had chewed at her leg and got an infection, also around her mouth. She's had two courses of antibiotics, plus cream to rub on, and now it's just one pill a day to help stop itching. She seems very confused nowadays - walks into corners or between furniture and just stands there as though she doesn't know how to get out. She also often goes to the wrong side of the door to go out (the side with hinges). She sleeps most of the time now. Still has a good appetite though.
That cat has adopted you Jane. He knows a good thing when he sees it.
Fancy having a red fox so close - he was quite brazen wasn't he? I told my son the other day that I want a BB gun or something, to chase the rabbits away. They have chewed off every seedling I've sewn. Lucy doesn't even appear to be aware of them.
Sometimes a group of us meet at a seafood restaurant on a Friday evening - ladies I've known for a long time. One of them who is 80 or 81, told us one evening of an accidental shooting at her house. (I hope I haven't told you this already). I do tend to tell things more than once :-( Anyway, she said that for many years she has slept with a loaded pistol in her bed, and one night she had a dream that a man was standing next to her bed, so she reached for her pistol and fired. There was no intruder, but the bullet went through two walls into the utility room, ricocheted off the dryer and embedded itself in the door :-D :-D :-D I thought it was hilarious, but her son was very upset. For one thing, he had to make repairs to the walls! She said she has several different types of gun and knows how to use them all. She has a way of making me laugh. She told us one time that she puts her leg in the sink to wash it. I was amazed because I know I can't get mine up there, but I didn't realize at that time that she has an artificial leg. No, she didn't shoot it off :-D :-D :-D :-D
I was outside quite early in nothing but my nightie and gardening shoes. I picked parsley, oregano and basil, and have it spread out on t-towels at the moment. I'm going to hang it up to dry. The kitchen smells wonderful.
Must get on.

so it looks as if the cat has adopted you Jane and learning to type as well, M K L you've got to start somewhere :-D :-D :-D :-D.
Just popped in for a bite to eat and to put the meat in the oven for tonight's dinner, decided to have a lamb roast, not to much work involved with being busy in the garden. I did all the hovering and polishing before starting the weeding and have been bobbing in and out with all the washing. Last lot drying nicely on the line. It's gone a bit overcast now so I'm hoping it's not going to rain before the washing dries.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night Frank. Early night for you tonight then ;-) ;-). Glad to hear mum and baby are ok, did you say they were going home today. How are you getting on with your weeding.
It must of been a shock seeing the Fox again Mel, at least your OH managed to scare it away. Did you manage to get into your garden today. That's the problem with this time of year, the weeds love it.
Well, I'd better get back to it before the weather turns it's not looking as good out there now. BBL

Afternoon All
Well our guest is still here.James said it arrived as soon as he opened his bedroom window. He heard it miaowing .So I borrowed Fitz's cat basket and took it to the vets.It is a neutered male,3 to 4 years old.Healthy :-D.They have taken his photo should I want them to put it up on their Facebook for lost and found. The vet suggested putting a paper collar on with my phone number and asking if the owner sees it to just contact me.So it looks like he is here for a while :-D :-D.Fingers crossed. But it will not be allowed to stay at night. It left 2 Shrew on the mat outside the back door.Chris nearly stepped on them :-S.I just have to be strong and not give it food. It is walking across the settee at the moment !!!!l....m,kl...and now the laptop(that is the m k l) :-S Liz it is great that you know you have no trouble with Cassie getting on with people and other dogs and cats. :-D.I wish all dogs were like that.
How is that thumb Mel? It seems it is Black and White cats all round lol Gill has her bird and squirrel chasing one ,Mel with her hog food eating one and me with this one.
Frank will you be able to have an easy afternoon and have a bit of a cat nap after your bad night? Glad Mum and little Alexander are doing well .So maybe home today for them :-D
I need to nip out for some milk.Puss is grooming itself beside me now.I will put it out and it can go and pester Chris in the garden :-D BBL

Morning all evening Kim,
So much for my early night. I read till 11.00 tried to settle down, when the old brain box clicked into gear. Two hours later I got up, Ros. was just coming to bed. I sat and read till 2.45 am then dropped off once I got to bed again. Was awake at 6.45 so don't feel great yet. My shower didn't seem to wake me up.
I had the new lines turn up yesterday, so I will have to see if I can put them up. The extending line is no trouble, just two screws to undo and replace line. The whirligig one has a different size hole. to the old one. So I will have to make a new hole in the lawn.
Not a bad morning here, plenty of white clouds with a bit of blue behind them.
Don't mention the weeding Gill. My veg patch is full of poppies and weeds. I will have to get the hoe out and run it just under the earth to cut them down, Beans are up the top of the canes and spreading along the nets. then, I can rake them up when they have died back. The Runners are getting to the top of the canes and starting to spread along the net. So they are well established.
Be careful with your hand today Mel, we don't want any more accidents.
Has the PUSS gone home Jane ?? or are you going to give it a new home ;-) ;-) ;-)

Did I tell you we had the fox in the garden yesterday?? The bantams were out and it came through the top arch from the top garden. I was putting the plates away that had been washed up and looked up and there in the archway was a big red fox. Ran through to tell oh and he came out and the fox wasin through the arch and just going along the border. Oh shot at it through the kitchen window and it turned and ran through the border and back through the arch to the right and then to the left across the overgrown garden. It gave me such a fright as the bantams were out of sight scratching in the edge of the back field opposite the big girls. I think it was really after baby rabbits as there has been at least three of them feeding up the garden comeing through tthe arch all week. It can take as many of those as it likes as the rabbit in the big chickens run is on her third litter this year now and I only caught one of seven last time.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Nice day here at the moment too and they said we would have rain today.
I too must get my washing on the line like Gill. Take advantage while it shines.
I may go in the garden again today too. My thumb is a lot easier this morning and I need to slap some cream on my hand.

Morning all
Sounds like you had a lovely time away with Hannah Jane. All that peace and quiet and lovely sunsets, did you take any photo's of the sunsets. Looking forward to seeing your photo's and the one of you and your teacher, what a nice thing the carer did taking it I'm sure you'll treasure that one.
Glad to hear the grave wasn't as bad as your first thought and now it's been tidied up and the flowers put in it'll be the best one there. We have a few cats trying their luck around here, if it looks well looked after chances are it is, so just give it a cuddle every now and then but no food. The cat will soon move on to someone else looking for food so no need to worry.
I had to gently chase a cat away yesterday. I was out in the garden and noticed 2 squirrels in our apple tree at the bottom of the garden as did a big black and white cat. It's one of the cats that climb up the trees after the birds. Well, it climbed up the tree after the squirrels this time so I slowly walked down the garden knowing the cat would jump down and run away, which it did then the 2 baby squirrels made their way to each of my neighbours gardens. A bit later on one of the squirrel's the tame one I was telling you about came down to my back door for some nuts, so all was good in the end. The squirrel didn't eat all the nuts and later last night we noticed a hedgehog helping itself to the remaining nuts off the patio. I didn't think hedgehogs ate nuts but I guess I was wrong. Sandra was made up when she saw the hedgehog, bless her.
How nice to see Cassie playing with the other dog, she's such a sweetie. Lovely that she gets on with everyone <3.
The weather here is another nice sunny day so I'm out in the garden again carrying on with the weeding.
Just heard my washing machine finish so I'd better go and peg it all out BBL

The B loo##y B G T on again. so I have popped in to say goodnight
Ros said she rang two rings when she left the hospital, but it didn't ring this end. I decided to cook the Shepherds pie and B & B pudding earlier and part cooked the Broad Beans and Cabbage. Good job I did. I was most surprised when she drove in. All I had to do was warm everything up. So we were eating by 8.30 pm. Late for us, but nothing I could do about it.
The baby and Kerry are fine. Ros took the big bag of things she has made, together with other bits she has bought. Kerry was over the moon with the blankets/ mats. She should be allowed home tomorrow, with a bit of luck.
Mel, What a cheek your hog grunting at you, the way you look after them !!!
Well good friends I am off to my PIT. and hope I sleep through the night.
See you in the morning.

I wouldn't feed the cat Jane unless he is obviously lost or been abandoned. Cats are such opportunists and tend to have their main home and a couple of spare ones, just in case!!! We had a cat years ago that WOULD go over the main road to someone who was obviously feeding him. In the end the cat got hit by a car, not killed, but his tail had to be amputated! So it was a bit of a do! I'd try to encourage it to go home by not feeding it!!! Mel, Cassie loves dogs cats, humans! She is a very affectionate little girl, and hasn't an aggressive bone in her body! As you say nothing worse than a snarling growling dog! We're off to bed as we are all pooped!

You do sound as though you have had a great day Liz. It is good Cassie gets on so well with other dogs. Nothing worse than a dog that growls and misbehaves with other dogs.
Jane the cat is just visiting if its in good condition. They do that.......just don't encourage it as it is probably someones cat.
Must go and sort the hedgehogs out for the night as last night when I went out one was there and it grunted at me!!
