Welcome home trouble !!!! Glad you saw your old teacher, and got a nice photo. Did you manage to get the grave stone done. ???
What a pity about the puss, he sounds very attached to you. With no real home, why don't you see if he/she is around tomorrow and take it from there. Is there anywhere you can leave a door open (shed) so it's got cover tonight if it needs it ???
Ros came in from the hospital and turned around and went out straight away. She has been asked to visit KERRY and the Baby at the hospital for 6.00 pm. She didn't get away from here till 5.15 pm. I have told her to ring me when she's leaving and I will put dinner on. I can see us eating around 8.00 pm or later. !!!
Mel, I know how you feel, Ros is always complaining about the weight of our mattress. This one doesn't need turning, so it's just lifting it up to put the fitted sheet on.
I don't know if it's just me but I find that my side of the bed (bottom sheet) gets wrinkled up. Ros says it's my cotton pants rubbing on the cotton sheets. So she has bought me some SILK BOXERS to sleep in. Now I will be frightened I might slide off the bed :-D :-D :-D
I have recorded her programmes this evening, so she can watch them when I go to bed.
Will try to get back later.

Puss is still here!!!!!.It followed Chris all the way down the garden and back (Chris ignored it :-S :-S).Then it slept on the mat outside the back door.James came home and it immediately made friends with him climbing onto his lap.Doors shut again now. I don't know what to do.Can't feed it as it will never go home(if it has one).It does looks healthy .I will see if it is still here tomorrow .
Ann ,I was so glad I went to see Ruth(my old teacher).I let myself in the back door and called out.But all I could hear was the TV (very loud). So I walked through the kitchen towards the lounge calling 'Hello'.....I then heard her say "you shouldn't be here until 12".....she thought it was the carer lol..So I had to say it was Jane.Bless her she had forgotten I was going. But we had a lovely half hour having a good old natter and a few laughs. Her memory is better than mine!!!!!!.She is quite frail now (96) and is angry that she is still alive. The carer arrived to do Ruths's lunch so i asked if she would take a pic for me .She took a lovely one which I will treasure as I doubt I shall see Ruth again.
Still haven't had time to see posts yet as Dinner is now on the go .I will catch up .I promise

Ann I took my gloves of to tie my peonies up and then just reached out and pulled this dead bit out and bent the bit in half when the break went into my thumb. It will heal better now the chunk is out.
Did'nt get back up the border today just changed the bed and washed that and dried it and now I only have to iron it all.
The mattress we have was measured for each of us so oh has a harder side than I have beings as I don't weigh as much as he does. They do it by computer and it was expensive so I don't really want to shell out for another one. The bed has a slatted end and I have to pull the fitted sheet down between each slat as the mattress dos'nt really bend much.
Glad to see our Jane is home and had a safe journey. I meant to say to her before she went not to foget a paint brush to apply the wet and forget but I suppose she remembered.
Ann the aptio will just get better and better with the one application. Oh stillhas'nt done the rest of ours yet!! so I still have four lovely clean slabs and the rest are still covered in green mould.

Afternoon All,
Well it started sunny here but has clouded over and got quite breezy now. OH got the 'all clear' at his dentist check up this morning so was pleased about that except shelling out £18 for five minute's work!! lol. Then he went out and weeded more of the block paving on the drive while I wet and forget the patio. It's all dry now and doesn't look much different yet but I think Mel said it took a few days. I wiped the patio table then sorted a few of the rock plants that had twiggy bits that needed a trim.
Then I showered and we went to the fav carvery. They served some delicious bits of home made fudge with our drinks and gave me 2 bits as they said OH had a big bit!! lol. OH couldn't believe they had bread and butter pud today, but still chose it despite having it yesterday. I had the ginger sponge pud which was very nice. Then we called at a garden centre on the way home and got one of the tiny humpers as our old one has split. We have bigger ones as well, but the small ones are ideal for small weeds and trimmings as you can squeeze the handles together after and pour the bits into old compost bags to take to the tip.
Yes, the red car was OH's Mandy. :-) You can see the 2 new painted lodges too, the other 5 are all varnished wood. Your patio must be looking nice and level now with it's smart new joints. :-) Is the new plant container your hubby made and you planted up looking good now?
I bet your garden is looking nice too Fiona after your and your OH's efforts yesterday. It's amazing how a few planted containers brighten a garden up. I love Matteos little car in your Avatar.
I see Gill's been out weeding too. It is nice to be out in the garden this time of year. Do you have quite a bit of garden Gill and is it shrubs or perennials that you have? We redid our whole fairly small back garden a couple of years ago and put lots of evergreens in and I think it's helping to smother some of the weeds now they have grown.
Mel, we were talking on holiday about having one of my photos printed on a picture canvas for one of the lounge walls. They had an offer on groupon just before we went away that was quite reasonable......now I can't find it! I have framed one or two photos that are in the bedroom but fancy changing those photos now. I hope you've managed to get that bit out of your thumb, it would be very painful just there. What with that and your rash, you'll not have to take your glove off next time! I often put gloves on, then take them off to do something fiddly and they never go back on again. Could you just get a new mattress Mel? Next time you are near a bed store go and lift a few at the corners. We have a memory one that is really light to move. I can turn it round on my own. We've had ours 10 years now and both find it comfy despite our dodgy backs.
Frank, what a good neighbour you are mowing the lawn!! I hope he notices and thanks you when he gets back. I hope Ros likes the bread and butter pud. I had to use just sultanas yesterday. I was going to use mixed fruit but his lordship doesn't like the mixed peel in it.
Well, I got things wrong.........I thought Jane was back yesterday! :-)

HELLO :-D :-D :-D Back last night after a really very nice few days down in sunny Devon. It was quite sunny except for Sunday which was the kind of weather I call Plymouth weather.Sea mist rolling in looking like smoke. I haven't looked at one post yet as I have been catching up on the washing and doing a big shop this morning.Chris drove Hannah back to London with a boot full of compost and plants plus all her baggage .Then Fitz turned up at lunch time.(good job I had been shopping). We just sat down outside with food and then heard a Miaowing ,getting louder and louder.Black and White cat suddenly appeared heading straight for the table (smelled the food). It then jumped on the table and tried to snatch a bit of ham !!!!!.Well after many strong words and a few swipes it settled down by our chairs. Trouble is it is still here :-S :-S :-S.I shut the back door just now to stop it coming it as it had walked in a few times.......then I heard a Miaow again...FROM THE LOUNGE !!!! It had only gone and jumped in through the open window. It miaows all the time. I feel barricaded in at the moment lol,but do need to go and get the washing in. I have no idea where it belongs.(think it could possibly be the little one with the bad leg that was here a year ago)but it is hard to tell.It is a sweet little cat with the most amazing tail :-DIt curls right back over its back. I really need to get this washing in so will go and see if puss is still sitting outside the back door :-S I will be back later and catch up on everything.

I stripped the bed this morning and thats now blowing on the line. Not the bed the quilt cover etc.!!
The sun came out just after I posted this morning and there's a good blow so they dried quite quickly. I have to do the bed in stages as it puffs me out. We hsould never have bought a bed with a bottem wooden end as I can't tuck the sheets in as the mattress is so heavy. I am always banging either my thigh of hands on the corner too. Oh loves it but I think we should buy a new on but we have only had this one for 5 years.
Should be going back up the border while the ground is workable with the rain we've had. Once it dries out it seems to set like concrete unless it has been dug and theres an awful lot to dig.
Yes wer'nt Ann's pics lovely. I loved the ones of the bluebells. I wanted one of those big posters on the bedroom wall above the bed head with blues amoung the trees with their lovely young green leaves on. In fact I have always wanted a poster or picture like that and hav'nt ever had one. I do have a picture of violets and primroses in the bedroom which was mums and has always been in there and thats nice and restfull too.

Oh Gill, YOU KNOW I'M PERFECT :-D :-D :-D :-D
Not all going straightforward for me today. After chopping up the onion and carrot, I fried the mince and once the carrot and onion were cooked I mixed it all together. adding my special bits and bobs. Transferred it all to the dish, and thought I had better peel the spuds. NO OLD SPUDS. So I have boiled a bag of Jersey Royals. They are in cold water ready for me to take off the skins. (ROS HATES THE SKINS) That will keep be busy for some time. They will go on top of the mince WHOLE and I will put the grated cheese on top. A bit different so we will see how it turns out.
I then set too to make the B & B pudding. Guess what NO SULTANA'S well only a few, so they are mixed with currents and raisins. I hope she doesn't complain. I KNOW I PUT THEM ON THE SHOPPING LIST. Nothing else to go wrong I HOPE.
Tony next door has gone to Eastbourne, leaving his front lawn uncut. It's full of daisy and dandelion. So I can see me getting that done before he gets home. I can't get to his back lawn as the garage is locked, and he has no other entrance. So that will have to wait till he gets home. SOME PEOPLE !!!!
Just remembered Ros has an appointment at the hospital at 3.15 today. I had better ring her to remind her. I hate to see wasted appointments..
Have thrown out some bread this morning. The starlings have babies. They are everywhere chasing the mums and dads for food.

Morning all
Lovely day here again today, I've been weeding in the garden just come in for a cuppa then outside again. There are so many weeds by the time I finish they'll have started to grow back again :-D :-D.
I love the pics Ann, you're really good at taking photo's, love the bluebells and the birds and what a lovely rainbow.
I agree with Mandy, Mel, get some tweezers, soak you hand in some warm water to open the pores first, if you put a little salt in the water it will help to heal it too. You're not having much luck lately, hope it changes to good luck soon for you <3.
Off back outside now BBL

Morning all, Evening Kim,
HOME ALONE AGAIN. It'd the LINUS today where they make these blankets for the children in hospital, so a worthy cause.
Lovely photo's Ann (as always) you clever girl. <3 <3 <3
Mel, You must be more carful with your hands, a soak in hot salty water might bring that to the surface, then you can get at it with a needle.Ohhhh
Mandy, when we moved here 16 years ago. Harvey said for our birthday and Christmas present he would lay us a new PATIO. We are still waiting.
Mel I have that trouble sometimes. I press the "INSERT" key as Ann said, and it seems to cure it.
It appears that "NORMAN" was a standing joke between Conrad and Mark. It looks like he will be ALEXANDER something (middle name)
Much better morning here Lots of blue sky with a fair old breeze. I haven't been out yet, so cant comment.
I have been busy in the kitchen. SHEEP SH## pie. and I had a word from Ros about a B & B pudding. So will make that after my shower.
Is our Jane home yet, ?? She did mention that they might come home TODAY.

Morning Mel, Morning all,
Dull start here but it's now brightening up a bit .
Yes Frank Norwich City are in the money and on the up again , seat prices will go up again now !!
Lovely photo's from Ann, you had a lovely view from the lodge Ann, must have been nice to sit and have breakfast looking out to sea . Was that hubby's new car i could see ,the red one ? Yes hubby has relayed the slabs as over the years the weight of the pool has made the slabs move ,they also wanted repointing too.
Oh Mel you'll have to get the tweezers out and get that bit out of your thumb ,it's surprising how such a tiny bit can make your thumb so sore ,a plaster might draw it a bit !! Well i better get on ,i keep looking at the windows ,they really need a clean and i keep putting it off :-( not one of my favourite jobs !!

Morning all and evening Kim,
Cloudy here today but dry so thats a blessing.
Hope Jane arrived home safely.
Thats funny not all the things I typed came out!! had to get the cursor back on the page?
Bit achey this morning after all the digging yesterday and bending over the border but I suppose thats to be expected. I did take my gloves off and pull a dead twigy bit off with my left hand and it broke and I have a peice in my thumb right on the fat bit and now this morning it is really fat and hurts too.
My hand that was better is now back to being sore again and pimply so its back on with the cream twice a day and the moistureiser twice a day too.

Lovely sunny day here all day, got some more of the garden done then went to see my mum, her sister was there so it was nice to catch up with my aunty too. Mum seems a bit brighter now, don't know when she has to go for the further tests but I'm sure she'll hear soon now the bank holiday is over.
Sorry to hear you cut your plant down Mel, hope you're not to cross with yourself, can you take cutting from the bit you cut off? at least you'd end up with another plant if you can and the one you've cut might come back next year.
Hope Jane had a nice time away with Hannah, and the weather was good when she went to the grave.
Going to bed now I'm really tired, didn't sleep very well last night, see you all tomorrow <3

No disarsters this afternoon and the clematis has now died up there on the south facing wall.
Ann at least wtih a geranium you can use it as a cutting.

Dinner was a disaster. Ros took one mouthful and said "I can't eat that" I tried to show a brave face, but gave up. Neither of us feel like anything else, so will see if we will eat later.
I have asked Ros about the babies name. It appears NORMAN was a joke between Conrad and Kerry's partner Mark. . We will have to wait and see. NORMAN is the LADRADOODLE who lives next door but two, who I take any left over meat to. So it will be a good laugh if they call the baby that. !!!
Lets hope you are right about tomorrows weather Ann. It has been quite depressing here today. I have fed and watered all the pots and greenhouse. So that's me for today.
I hope I can find something to watch tonight, as two and a half hours of what's on will drive me MAD.
Hope Jane and Hannah have arrived home safely after their long journey. <3 <3

Afternoon All,
Well I've just done a 'FRANK', written a long post and caught a key and whooosh, the whole thing went!!! :-S You lose the will to do it all again don't you.
Yes, congrats on the new baby boy......whatever he will be called! :-)
Yes the builder has plenty of nerve and on past record we know he won't give up. As people move house they will be tempted to get extra money by selling some of their gardens. Also some are quite elderly now and once they die those inheriting will be keen to maximise their inheritance by selling the gardens too.
I hope your visit to your mum helped Gill and that doing some shopping takes her mind off things. I think they would avoid an operation if at all possible but it's hard not to worry while you are waiting.
Mandy has your hubby made it stronger where the pool will sit? I wish my OH got things done quickly like that! We are still waiting for him to sort the bathroom light fitting that fell to bits a few weeks ago.
OH has weeded all the garden, front and back so has been watching the footie this afternoon. I have discovered the whitefly pest on the tomatoes, so that's whitefly, scale insect on the Holly and greenfly I need to spray now. :-S First FIL was always battling whitefly on his tomatoes but I've never had a problem with them before now.
We had a lovely Barnsley lamb chop lunch with meat and fresh veg from the farm shop today. I even made OH a bread and butter pudding with a bit of white bread that he had left from being away last week. We rarely have white bread so it was a good opportunity, it tastes horrid made with brown bread.
What a shame Mel! I did something similar this morning but not as bad. I was dead heading the geraniums and took off a whole shoot somehow!
Better go and get another load of washing in as it's supposed to be dry and quite sunny tomorrow. How soon a week away becomes a distant memory when you start the mundane house chores. :-S It's our bin day tomorrow too so I must remember to put out the cardboard a picture frame came in.
