Frank Report 20 May 2015 12:53

Afternoon all,

It's all doom and gloom everywhere.

Last night I felt rough and was in bed by 9.00 pm I had a bad tummy in the night, and after getting up and having a shower and shave 8.30 am I felt as weak as a kitten so got back into bed. I got up at 11.30 am. I was just making my way down the stairs (NO MEAN FEAT) when my phone rang, it was Ros to say they would ring me when they came out of the hairdressers, to see if I wanted to go to Ella's sports day this afternoon. The way I feel now the answer will be a BIG NO !!!

I am feeling so depressed, that I think I must get back to the doctor next week and have a check up. I don't seem to have any go in me at all.

It's quite cloudy and windy here again this morning. It looks like we could get some showers later.

The curtain blind people are coming back later to day as the blinds will not fit the windows. The trouble is the windows are 150 years old and are not square. So the blinds tilt to one side when fitted at the top. They are going to have cut the tops of the blinds at an angle and hope they fit the windows better. Being the are battery operated, as you click for them to go down they stick on the frame. WHY they can't have curtains like most people I don't know.

Ros tells me Jan is looking at internal doors. They are solid oak at a starting price of around £300.00 EACH before you buy the door furniture and have them fitted.

I do hope everyone gets to where they are going to safe and sound.

Glad the little bird is O.K. Mel and that little Cassie is behaving Liz. Little JJ is flat out on the kitchen floor in the sun as it comes through the kitchen door to the outside.

We have to be away from here by 9.00 am tomorrow morning, so I doubt I will be back on here before I get home.

Gillx Report 20 May 2015 11:28

Morning all

It started off sunny here but has now gone a bit dull, no rain yet but give it time lol.

Didn't get much sleep last night OH and I were up talking until almost 3am and have decided to try and move if we can, it means reducing this place a bit to get a quick sale, but we don't need a big place now Michelle is no longer here and we don't even use two of the rooms plus it's not insulated and when we looked into it, it's going to cost more than if we moved to an insulated property.

My mum said I was a born worrier and she's right so no matter how many times she tells me not to worry I know I still will and it's making me ill. So the best thing is to move on and then hopefully that will be the end to this situation once and for all. We got some insurance out last December which will cover the new people should the worse happen so they won't have any worries, unfortunately it doesn't cover us because we are Michelle's family.

This way we won't have to get another mortgage as my OH doesn't want to get into debt over this. It took us a long time to clear this mortgage so he's got a point, I can't expect him to get another mortgage to pay for a house we've already paid for. I do want to make sure the situation is only on this place and won't follow us to the next place before we do anything else though. Luckily we only need a two bed place, so buying would be cheaper than if we still needed a three bed property. We might even be left with some money left over which would be a bonus.

I'm going to get a painkiller, I've woken up with a bad headache and it's getting worse

Morning/Evening All

Bit dull this morning.I think it was sunny first thing.Hannah is having to sort out different accommodation in San Diego as the person she was going to be renting from has just cancelled :-S :-S.Not good just with 3 weeks to go.She thinks she has found a studio flat and is just now waiting for confirmation.

WE are off to Northampton with Fitz for lunch and the Cinema at midday so I had better get off my backside and get the washing out and have a bit of a tidy.

Gill,I hope you are feeling better this morning and have managed to get a better nights sleep.

BB late this afternoon or evening.

Well I have just been outside because I forgot to shut the bantams in and to the east the sky is as clear as a bell and studded with stars and the wind has dropped too.

I am now signing out and going to watch 24 hours.

Hope you have a better night tonight Ann and everyone else.

Mandy I hope hubby dos'nt get you working all day tomorrow on things you don't want to do!! :-|

Night all.

Ann ,I always take my own pillow these days if staying somewhere in this country :-D.Just chuck it in the boot :-D.I am dreading the pillows in Italy as they are never the right shape and too soft :-S
Sounds like you have had a lovely day .I can't imagine you buying a little touristy trinket LOL But it does sound perfect for a bathroom :-D.I hope you get a better sleep tonight.I had a good one last night with those Nytol.I might even take them again tonight ,being they are 'Natural'...Gill have you ever tried them? It might be worth a go.I don't like Calm*Night ones as they make me have even weirder dreams than usual :-S

Hannah has just gone up to bed.She went to give me a kiss and missed. Her lips just got one of my lenses on my specs .So I had a big greasy lip shape on it :-S :-D.All clean now after a good spray of lens cleaner :-D

Gill at least you have had something to eat now .A bit of Sandwich is better than nothing.Something little and often might be the best thing until you have your appetite back.I know when Hannah gets worried or stressed about something she can't eat.Thankfully that hasn't happened for a long while now.
We have a lovely sky tonight .Mainly all blue with little pink clouds like candy floss :-D
I think the weather looks like getting better for the weekend. So if that is correct then we should be ok in Plymouth.I am even packing a rug to sit on on the beach!!!!.The problem is if I get down, Hannah will have to haul me back up unless I roll over onto hands and knees and get up that way. She is in for an experience ,going away with me :-D :-D :-S :-S
We may very well not be talking by the time we come home LOL

magpie Report 19 May 2015 20:49

That sounds really sensible Gill then at least you'll know that if the worse happens, and I'm sure it won't, that you'll be able to raise the money to pay for any incurred debt up to the value of your daughters share of your house, plus the added bonus of being able to stay put whatever the outcome without worrying. Like Ann says, it might be a good idea to make absolutely sure that the valuation was at last December's prices and then the only consideration will be any inflation accrued. Hopefully, once this is clear then your mind will be put at rest.

Hi all

I'm so tired, I think it's because I didn't sleep very well last night.

Sorry to hear you're not having a very good time away Frank, you were so looking forward to going for walks and the weather hasn't been very nice to you has it? Then the other problems as well. Good job you got the car sorted though, it doesn't bare thinking about, what might of happened on the journey home if you hadn't got it fixed.

I had a sandwich earlier Jane, I couldn't eat it all but at least I've had a little something today. I don't have an appetite when I'm stressed. I'm going to keep myself busy to take my mind of things and look into re-mortgaging this place, at least we'd know if we could raise the funds if we needed to. With a bit of luck we won't need to.

Have you tried the electoral Roll Mel, you might find your son that way. Is he married as his wife's name will be on there too, which would make it easier to find him. It'll give you his address then you could maybe write him a letter and pop a stamp addressed envelope in with your letter so he's no excuse not to answer. You have nothing to lose and if he doesn't reply at least you'll have tried. There's a good chance he'll read the letter, most people would, even out of curiosity and you never know he might reply. It just takes one person to make the first move. Just a thought, but might be worth a try <3 <3 <3.
Glad to hear the baby bird is ok, keep an eye on your pond incase he ends up back in there.

Going to watch my soaps now

Annx Report 19 May 2015 18:51

Evening all,

Well I had a bad night last night too, still awake at 2.00am and awake again at 5.30am. Couldn't get my pillows right as I sleep more upright now. So, as it was short sharp showers this morning we had a nice lie in. Then we decided to visit Falmouth and have F&C for lunch at a French themed restaurant on the harbour where we went last year when Rick Stein's was closed. We thought it was better last year as you are seated on long tables with hard benches and with other people at Rick's so not so good to chat in private. Then we had a mooch round the harbour and, most unlike me, I bought a seaside trinket thing, two seagulls sitting on a wooden fence with 'welcome' on it. Normally I hate these things but it appealed to me so I shall put it in the bathroom! Then we went to a lovely garden OH found that had the best patch of bluebells I have ever seen, a whole meadow of them.

Jane I'm not sure I fancied the goose eggs either and OH clearly didn't.......Fitz is much more adventurous with food isn't he. OH thinks the traffic coming to the south west could be quite busy next weekend with it being the bank holiday. We said again today how much busier it is than the last few years.

Frank it sounds like the house will be lovely once the alterations are finished. Hope you are managing the stairs ok. What a nuisance having to have new discs and pads on the car, it isn't cheap, but at least they will be good for a long time now. Little JJ sounds like a good boy, I bet you are enjoying the babysitting! :-) The forecast down here is a sunny day tomorrow and no more rain this week and getting warmer each day, so you should get a nice walk by the sea.

Sorry you are no further with a solution Gill, but although it's hard not to, worrying won't help. Try to remember at least you had a good chat with your daughter and she knows the position and I'm sure she will be careful not to get into debt. Liz's idea sounds a good one to explore. I would ask CAB to confirm whether your daughter's 'share' would be calculated at the point she came off the deeds and will only increase with inflation and not with the value of your house going up. What a shock that must have been for the lady's husband and for your mum. It would be the last thing you would expect.

Mel those Wagtails certainly found themselves a 'des res' under your solar panels! I bet they will do it again next time. I tend to keep up with the weather on teletext while I'm away, but you are right and I bet I'd get a more accurate forecast on the laptop.

I hope some more acupuncture helps your hubby Mandy. It must be horrid being in pain with it as you use your neck all the time, even driving must be uncomfortable.

I brought some Ol*y face cream with a higher sun factor with me this week and after 2 days I started to get that itching and swelling I got with that other cream so have stopped using it!! It must be some chemical in the higher sun protection that I'm allergic to. I bought some of the stuff I usually use today.

Watching telly now, looking forward to Alan Davies and the rescue dogs. It's been good before.

Oh dear Gill so you are still unclear as to how you stand , i think if it was me i would put the papers away, take the property off the market and stay were you are , if the problem goes with you there's no point spending money moving and you don't want to make your self ill worrying about it .
The money you save on moving could be put away to help your daughter should she get any money troubles .

Hubby has a day off tomorrow his van is going in for it's MOT all i keep hearing is we'll do this job tomorrow, we'll do that job tomorrow ,i hope tomorrow has more hours than usual as we will be needing them by the sound of things :-0 :-D

More expense Frank :-( it doesn't seem that long ago your car had it's MOT you would have thought they would have noticed the pads wearing !!

I saw the puppies Jane weren't they lovely little things :-D

Frank I bet you wished you had stayed at home now LOL,what with the weather ,the car etc.At least you don't have to worry about your garden being watered .it will have had a good soaking today :-D and maybe more to come looking at the sky now.

Hannah's friend who has moved to Spain is writing a very interesting Blog.I signed up to follow it,so am looking forward to reading it for the next 12months.She has also put some wonderful photos up .She is staying in a pretty grotty Hostel at the moment and can't wait to move on from there.I think there is a heatwave too so a small single room with just an electric fan isn't the best.Especially in 40deg temp.

I have smoked the house out with the sausages .Have had to open up a few windows now.Good job it is raining :-D

Liz I bet Cassie looks so cute when she is sleeping with the little puppy tummy going up and down :-D.I love it when they are just a few weeks and their tummies are all squidgy and round after a good feed :-D

I hate solicitors jargon. They never seem to explain things in normal language for the average person. Sorry you did'nt get any real answer to your problem Gill. Michelle seems like a level headed person from what you have siad and I am sure she would'nt put you or her dad or her sister in any kind of situation that could make you lose your house.

I think my son is still in Suffolk. There is nobody to contact who is in touch with him as I don't think he even speaks to his dad now.

It's been sunshine and a few showers this morning just as I put the washing on the line but there was a good steady wind which blew the clouds away and dried the washing and I have just ironed some of it, his shirts so that was worth doing today.

Early this morning oh rescued a baby great tit from my pond. He had to bring it in and dry it off with loads of kitchen paper and put it back outside on the littel wall neath their nest box. We watched most of the morning and it was still there and then I saw one of the parents come and feed it so knew it would be ok. It moved along to under the pond net leaning against the wall and I saw it being fed there too but we went out just now and its gone so it must have joined the other babies somewhere. At least we know mum and dad are still feeding it ok.

Thunder ,Lightening,Hail and rain this afternoon :-S and now the sun is out.I wonder for how long???

Oh Gill,I am so sorry you are still left with lots of worry and uncertainty .But I do think he Solicitor is right in saying now to put all the papers away and try not to worry.(easier said than done I know),but you can't make yourself ill by worrying for the next umpteen years when in fact everything will probably be fine.Michelle is aware of the situation so I am sure will be very careful and not get herself into major financial troubles.
As for making a will I think everyone should have one especially when you have children.Even if there is nothing much to leave. My friend died very suddenly when her 2 children were 16 and 18 or 19.her husband had left her and so she had a will written but she hadn't signed it,so the house and furniture went to the ex,and the children just got her pension I think from work.It was a dreadful time it took ages to all be sorted.
Her son was at Cambridge Uni at the time and Mums share of fees etc obviously stopped. He ended up taking his Father to court so that he could be able to finish his studies. The court was in his favour and ordered his Dad to pay the fees.(thank goodness). But all of this could have been avoided had my friend signed that will !!
I would take up the offer of a free will for sure.
Please try and put the worry to the back of your mind .I am sure that everything will be ok <3...........Have you eaten yet? :-D.I imagine food is the last thing on your mind and you probably don't fancy anything.Just a little something even if it is toast,or soup .You need to keep your strength up.Can't have you fading away :-D
If you were near me I would be running around with my Toad in the Hole tonight for you.

I am just watching Paul O'Grady and it is heartbreaking to see beautiful tiny Puppies all who have been abandoned needing homes :-(..They are GORGEOUS.I can hardly watch.I love Paul O'Grady he is such a softy :-D

I wish I felt virtuous ..My house is so in need of a good clean..I wonder what Chris would say if I asked him to do it all when Hannah and I go to Plymouth :-D.I know the answer ,and it wouldn't be "Of course my dear" :-S
Hannah has just gone off to the Gym with a friend...Gawd she is so fit.

magpie Report 19 May 2015 16:44

Oh dear Gill, I am sorry this lady wasn't more helpful. , For what it's worth, I would persevere exploring the possibility of a remorgage of your daughters portion of your property should the worse happen, which of course it probably won't. Solicitors jargon can be difficult to fully get to grips with, and it seems to me that the time you had with this lady simply wasn't long enough for her to read through your paperwork and then talk with you about it in layman's language. It might be an idea to explore the C.A.B after all with a view to leaving your paperwork with 'whoever' for them to read thoroughly, then arrange another meeting whereby they can explain it all properly to you and which would give you time to ask any pertinent questions. That way you would be able to make an informed decision as to the best thing to do. If it is the case that this problem will follow you and go on longer than 5 years, you really do need to know, as there is simply no point moving if this turns out to be the case. Try not to worry too much, but I really would try and get to the bottom of exactly what you agreed to when you took your mortgage out.
Cassie is worn out with all her visiting and is fast asleep!!

Frank Report 19 May 2015 16:41

Hi all,

Not a great time down here, weather has been real hit and miss. Frightened to go out walking, as the RAIN showers are very heavy and I would get soaked to the skin.

I think I mentioned the noise coming from the front O/S wheel/brake. Well this morning we took it into Q Fit and they had a look at the problem. The brake pads had been over heating and got distorted , also damaged the DISC. They of course can't replace just one so had to have ALL NEW PADS AND DISCS. £264.41 p So I am not the most pleased "BUNNY In the pack" plus it took a couple of hours to get the parts and get them fitted. We rand Jan and she picked us up and bought us home.

They then decided to go shopping at B & Q and left me here to let the curtain blind fitters in and baby sit the dog. Quick Fit rang Ros's mobile while they were out to say the car was ready, they have been home for about an hour.

Because the windows here are so old, they are having trouble with the blinds, they are busy trying to get everything level. They are Battery operated, and they keep catching in the window recess.

Yesterday Jan's other daughter rang, to say the baby had righted itself (it was breeched) and they are going to bring it on, on THURSDAY If it isn't successful they will do a "C" section. So, we are all leaving here Thursday instead of Friday.

Jo the daughter who lives with here is on Holiday with friends in Majorca and her daughter ELLA is being looked after by Jan, who has now made arrangements with Jo's friend to have Ella and the dog until Jo gets home Saturday.

WHAT A BLOODY PERFORMANCE !!!! I will be glad to get home to some normality.

Mel, I like you don't know where either of my Children live other than it's in Northamptonshire (well that's where they were) if they have moved then I have no idea where. I have grown to accept it. I know I did everything right while I was their Father. What happened after I left I had no control over, other than knowing that I left them well cared for financially (She had the lot) from the sale of the house in lieu of child maintenance. Which was enough for her to buy another house Mortgage free.

Gill, All you can do now is sit tight and STOP WORRYING as that won't do you any good. Your daughter has made it clear she will not do anything stupid like going bankrupt .So stay where you are, and get on with your life. Remember the old saying "WHAT WILL BE. WILL BE"

Nice to see you are alive and kicking Ann ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Hope you are enjoying your break.

Tomorrow Ella will be staying with Jo's friend, so I may take the Three of us out for a meal,. The girls are both booked into the Hairdressers around lunch time, so I will be on my "JACK JONES" again.

Gillx Report 19 May 2015 15:51

Afternoon all

Sunshine and heavy showers here, I can hear next door cutting their lawns, they must be mad with the rain we've had, but I suppose a petrol mower is safer than electric :-S :-S.

Sorry to hear about your son Mel, maybe it is a good idea to contact another member of the family who is in touch with him and see if you can meet up with him. Life's to short to not see each other <3.

Well, the visit to the solicitors didn't go very well, I'm more confused now than ever. Apparently it doesn't matter that Michelle didn't pay anything into the property. From what I can gather because her name was on the deeds it was legally hers weather she paid for it or not and to top it off, the solicitor told me to stop worrying, put the papers away and just wait for a letter to arrive should Michelle go bankrupt.

I ended up in tears. So I've been trawling the net in the hope of finding some answers but as yet have found none :-( :-(. So it looks like we've just got to put up and shut up and hope nothing happens and we don't receive the letter telling us Michelle is bankrupt. It doesn't seem fair to me, but I suppose that's the law. I'm so worried now and there was mention that there's also a slim chance it could go on further than the five years too.

I read through all the paperwork the solicitor gave us when we got home but it's so full of legal stuff I couldn't make out what it all meant. So like I said I'm more confused now than when we started and it looks like there's nothing else we can do but wait for the years to go by and hope for the best. I've even got a feeling that if we sell this place then the proceeds of this place when we use it to buy another place will still be classed as part Michelle's. Don't know what to do about selling now.

The solicitor told us to make a Will but I can't see how that can help, although she did say we could have one made for free as the solicitor's in this area have free Will's week every now and then where all you have to do is make a donation to what ever charity they're doing it for, so that was a bit of good news I suppose.

Haven't eaten again today and didn't get much sleep last night either, so I suppose I should get something to eat even though I'm not hungry, I don't want to make myself ill with it all.

Sorry it wasn't good news

Wonder if Frank has managed a walk out today with his little friend .

Mel i just carn't imagine how sad it must be for you not knowing where your son is ,especially when we all mention our children ,i do hope one day he will get in touch with you again <3

Gill what a shock for the poor man coming back to find his wife had died ,and your mum too as they had been close friends .
Been wondering all morning how things went with the solicitor ,i hope she was able to give you some advice as to how things stand .

Like you Liz i have had a good going through this morning , couldn't believe how dusty things had got ,but we're nice and clean now .

Oh goodness Mel, that must be awful not even knowing where your son lives!! We've had our ups and downs with both our children, but never to the extent of not knowing where they live! Is there no way you could try and get in touch, through a third-party maybe and see what that brings? He might well be pleased to hear from you.
Sudden death is always a great shock! My mother died in her sleep next to my poor S-father in their double bed!! We had to have the Police and an autopsy, as it was a sudden death. It was horrid and a very difficult period for us all, culminating in the death of my much loved S-father eight months later from cancer.
Sunshine and quite violent showers here today, so I've spent the morning giving the bungalow a really good clean and now feel virtuous!!
I hope the session with the Solicitor went well Gill, and that you now have a better idea of what your position is.
This afternoon we're taking Cassie out for a bit more socialising, perhaps it'll wear her out!!

Morning/Evening All

Sunshine and showers seem to be the order of the day here.We have been to the garden centre for a few bits and now home for the rest of the day.

Mel it must be horrible for you not knowing where your Son is and not being in touch especially on days like this. The same a Frank and his Children.

Gill, what a dreadful shock for the ladies ,husband ,and your Mum.I have heard of people dying just like this and think what a good way to go but what terrible thing for the other person who walks back into the room and finds that they have passed away.
My Uncle had his daughter around for dinner ,and he went off to the loo.She thought he was rather a long time ,and when she went to see ,he had passed away on the loo :-0 :-0..I think Mel has experienced the same shock when her Dad died suddenly out the front of the bungalow.

I expect Gill and OH are seeing the Solicitor now.Hopefully they will get plenty of time to discuss everything.

I have just noticed the window feeder is on a tilt .I better go and rescue it before it ends up on the ground.
