Morning all and evening Kim,

Another blustery day here and we have had some showers this morning already.

It is my sons birthday today so Happy Birthday wherever you are 46 today.

Gillx Report 18 May 2015 23:00

Evening all

I've been at my mum's the last two days, her neighbour and very close friend passed away suddenly the night before last. Apparently she was watching TV in one room and her husband was watching his program on the TV in the room next to her. He asked her if she'd like a cup of tea to which she said yes and when he brought it into her she's passed away. It was a really shock to everyone as you can imagine, and to my mum as they were very close.

Mum's feeling a bit better now and has offered to help her friend's husband with any shopping he might need, although all his family are around him so he probably won't take her up on her offer, but like she said she's at the shops for herself anyway so it's not a problem to pick up his shopping at the same time. They live opposite each other so not far for mum to drop the shopping off to him.

We don't have a time to see the solicitor tomorrow Jane it's a drop in, type of thing, the solicitor is there between 10am and 12 noon, hopefully there won't be many people there so we will have a chance to chat to her properly. We'd just like a better understanding of the situation and to see if there is a way it can be reversed, although we don't hold out much hope of that happening. I'll let you all know how we get on, when we get back.

Thanks for the pics Liz, at first I didn't think they had come through but I found them in my spam folder. That's twice that's happened, it happened once before with one of Franks emails. So I've took it away from being a spam email so hopefully anymore you send I should receive. I don't know why this keeps happening.

Hope the stairs aren't to much for you Frank, sounds like you're having fun with the dog, or is it the other way around :-D :-D. Hopefully you'll get the chance to take him/her for a walk soon if the weather brightens up. Is it a he or a she dog??

I'd go in the hot tub Ann, it might help your OH's sciatica too. Maybe you could wear a T shirt if you're worried about other people looking, but I'm sure they won't. It didn't take you long to find a bead shop, I bet you were made up, I know how much you like bead shops. Did you find any nice beads?

Sorry to hear about your OH's neck Mandy, let's hope he can get the treatment he needs and he's soon feeling much better :-).

How awful Fiona you not feeling very well and poor Katherine, is she better now, it must of been frightening collapsing like that and having to go to A&E. Glad to hear you're starting to feel better now.

By the sounds of the weather you've got Mel, I don't blame the wagtails for going underneath your solar panels. Like you said they're not stupid are they? Would love to see the pics.

Well, I've had a busy couple of days, mum let me photo copy some stuff for Sandra today so that took me a couple of hours and when I got back from mum's I changed all the beds and had loads of other washing to do which I've just finished. I'm really tired now so I'll say Night Night and be back tomorrow afternoon <3

O lovely to hear from Ann whilst she is in Cornwall. Hi to Ann ~~~

We have had heavy showers on and off all day and we had a huge rainbow too.

The little doe and stag have been out the back field today and then a bit later a little stag was in the garden again.

Ann at least if you have your laptop you can look up the weather for where you are.

We know the man who looks after the organ in Truro.

Jane Report 18 May 2015 21:58

HI ANN :-D :-D
That was a nice surprise hearing from you.....Oh lord I know I will suffer like you both after the long drive down to Devon.Everything seems to seize up after just an hour or so sat in the car.I might need a Zimmer lol.Hannah will be as fresh as a daisy.I just need to remind her that I am 30 years older than her.
I will be taking all my hay fever things including eye drops,Brufen and Paracetamol for my hip, plus rub in Voltarol cream.Hannah will think she is travelling with a Chemist Shop :-S
Mandy if OH has bones fused together in his neck ,that must be awful for him.I don't know what can be done about that other than some kind of pain control.Acupuncture can be very helpful.
Ann I have never been in a hot tub.I love the idea ,but it would just have to be me and maybe Chris .NO-ONE ELSE.
Fitz said he had a Goose Egg Ann...Don't think he was that struck on it.I don't think I would fancy one.
Just had a call from my Nephew (Janice's youngest) .He only called to say thank you for his birthday card and cheque. But we chatted for half an hour.He and his girlfriend are off in August to Bogata (Colombia) I think for 6 months. So we were talking all about that .He was saying his Mum(my sister ) doesn't really want him to go .I can understand that ,but as he says he wants to do a bit more travelling now while he is young ,before he settles down.

I think I am the only one left up here.Everyone has gone to bed.I am going to take 2 Nyto* tonight as I had a dreadful nights sleep last night.Just one of those nights when the mind goes into overdrive and doesn't stop :-S
So I will be off now.Night Night x

Evening all,

Heavy rain here this morning ,easing up in the afternoon and now we have sun shine !!

I hope the weathers better for you tomorrow Frank ,you would have got blown along the sea front today by the sound of it .
Watch what your doing on those stairs !! i take it there is a downstairs loo ?

No Mel no spoon collecting here ,i don't know if son and family are collecting them ,the little ones eat a lot of cereals but i don't know if they eat the Kelloggs ones .

That virus sounds a nasty one Fiona , hope your all feeling better soon .

Hubby has been to the doctor again about the pain in his neck , he has two bones in the neck that are growing together and causing him pain , he has pain killers and has been rubbing cream in but he still in pain so now the doctor is referring him to our local hospital to try some acupuncture ,he has had acupuncture before that was to help the pain in his hip before he had his first hip replacement .

Oh Ann's about :-D this is a surprise !! oh Ann go on get in the hot tub those hot bubbles work wonders ,and no one can see you once your under the water :-D
You soon found a bead shop :-D

Annx Report 18 May 2015 19:00

Evening All,

Bet you didn't expect to hear from me!! :-) Neither did I but I brought the laptop with me when I spotted they had got wi fi here since last year. Even better I managed to set the laptop up which I thought I may have trouble with. So, here I am gazing at a lovely, sunny! Cornish landscape. :-D Travelling down here OH's sciatica was that bad he passed the keys to me after 70 miles and I ended up driving all but the last few miles. At least there were no holdups though. I found that I could push the steering wheel forward as well as up, so was more comfortable. OH lowered the headrest for me as well, but I think I need to tilt the seat back more as I can't sit up straight without my head being pushed by the headrest. Yesterday I had neck ache, hip and backache as well as knee twinges and I'm sure it was from driving a long distance in a car I'm not used to. OH finally took some ibup*ofen yesterday (took no notice of me till then!) and was amazed to be painfree this morning. :-) It was raining at 6.30am this morning but had stopped by the time we went out for lunch, then there was another shower while we looked around Truro. I was in the bead shop most of the time so that was ok. We were up on the north coast after and had a short stroll on the beach. Lots of white waves and very windy. There's usually only us or one other on this site at this time of the year, but another lodge has been built since last year making 7 in total and they are all occupied. Maybe it's the newly installed hot tubs that are the attraction.......and no, we don't fancy it, not private enough!! Even though the people here aren't noisy, with all these people here we haven't seen even one bunny!!! We did have what sounded like a woodpecker on the roof early yesterday morning. It was busy everywhere yesterday with it being the weekend, we saw loads of bikers at one point so there must have been a rally somewhere. The local shop had some massive goose eggs this morning, the lady said they take 7mins to boil. I wonder if she would sell me just a couple?

Jane, my eyes and nose were streaming last night, much worse than at home so don't forget your hayfever tablets!! Things are ahead of home here, things like the Laburnum is all in flower. I was a lot better tonight after taking a tablet this morning so will keep them up now.

OH is in the bath now so I shall watch a bit of telly. Careful on those stairs Frank, seems like you have a new little pal to play with

Oh oh it's pouring with rain now, yet the sun's out and I can see a lovely rainbow

Fiona Report 18 May 2015 18:14

Hi Folks.
I have only been spending short times on the computer.
Have been feeling weary and have had no energy for the last 2 weeks, Think I might have had the same viral infection that Katherine had last weekend, she took ill on the Sat morning after going cycling with Jake she had a terrible Migraine and collapsed in the house, Jake had to call for an ambulance , the paramedics said she was needing to use her inhaler as she was short of breath. Went to work Sunday and almost passed out again she was getting overheated,, Jake then picked her up and took her to A&E, and the doctor said it was a viral infection. I had a migraine on Monday night and have not been feeling all that good all of last week,
Today is the first day have had some energy and my head only aches a bit.
Hope every one else is feeling good , I haven't read any of the posts.

Frank the nest may have babies in !!!I have had a very young Pidgeon toddling around with the Adult nearby. Can it not wait until the nest is sure to be empty? You don't want to be a murdrer :-S :-S

Well the towels went out and then 20 minutes later a really heavy shower with I think a bit of hail !!!.The sun is out again now but with quite a chilly wind. The towels can stay out now until tomorrow I think.

Hopefully you will be able to get out and about tomorrow and breath in some of that lovely sea air.I have been looking at the forecast for Friday until Monday in Plymouth.it doesn't look too bad at the moment .Sun and maybe showers. But there is plenty of time for it to change(hopefully for the better :-D).I have been making a list of what we need to take.I suddenly remembered that as it is self catering we will need things like loo rolls, washing up liquid,t towel, cleaning things etc.No bedding as that is provided.I will just take the basic food ,like tea, coffee milk ,and then can get anything from the local supermarket. It seems daft taking a load of stuff that we won't eat as no doubt we shall be out most of the time.I know on Friday night we will go to nice little Pub just up the road for our evening meal.
This morning I bought one of those vases that sit in a hole at the graves. The type with lid with holes.
I would hate to to the church and find Mum and Dads missing.I know sometimes people think it is ok to take them if they aren't being used :-S,or the lids get battered and disappear in the wind.

I wonder if Ann and OH have managed to get out anywhere today .I can't imagine they would be doing much walking in the bad weather, but maybe a trip in the car somewhere.

I don't know what next door have been burning in their wood/multi burner. The smoke coming out of the chimney was black and stank..it was as if the Pope had died.(I think that is black smoke??)

Hannah has shut herself in the study all day to do her work .I have only seen her briefly when she came out to get herself lunch.Chris has been relegated to the Summerhouse. Not that he minds :-D
James is popping in to see Johnny's Mum after work .Hopefully he will find out how much money was made on the Comedy Night.

My hip seems to be no better and it is now clicking :-S.It is so painful too.Poor old soul
Oh Oh I see Chris coming out of the Summerhouse with his gun......he must have spotted a Bunnie :-(..Mind you I know he won't get it :-D :-D

I have Meatballs cooking now.Just need to add sauce later and Spaghetti.Easy meal. :-D.Garlic Bread too for anyone who wants.
I don't think I have anything planned for tomorrow.Wednesday Chris ,Fitz and Me are going to see Far from the Madding Crowd in Northampton and going to Pizz* Expres* for lunch first.Fitz is coming up here first to see our Paris Pics and then Chris is driving :-D
Meatballs need checking

Am just having a sit down after cleaning out a couple of big plastic boxes I had the baby hogs in in the shed. What a hard job trying to turn them around in the bath. Still it's done now and they only have to dry and I can put things in themk and get them out of the way in the shed.

I keep meaning to tell you our pair of wagtails have their two babies out now. Oh put a load of worms down for them and walked round the back of the bungalow to see where they were going and they were under the solar panels. Not stupid eh. Nice and dry under there. I have taken a couple of pics of the babies on the decking rail.

There I was typing merrily away, when up pops an advert for I player. Where that came from I don't know.

The girls are still not back. I bet they are picking Ella up from School while they are out.

The stairs are STAIRS JANE not my favourite obstacle, they are quite steep. I find my right hip and left knee don't like them, plus there is still no carpet on them. Everything is on going here, with vast improvements since our last visit. More plastering has been done and the garden is really taking shape.

The weather was I bit of a Bugg## this morning with rain and wind. The rain has stopped now but we still have that nasty cool wind.. So I haven't ventured out today..

"JJ" the dog has been very good, every hour or so I put him out for a wee, and he just wanders back in when he is ready.

Jan tells me she has a pigeon nesting in one of her trees, which she doesn't want, so I might be the one to dispose of the nest if I can reach it. She has enough of all the seagulls on the roof, without baby pigeons.

The puppy is having a MAD five minutes. Bringing me his little squeaky toys and dropping them at my feet for me to throw for him.. <3 <3 <3

Hope Ann is able to get out and about, a bit of wind and rain won't keep them in doors will it ???

Trust everybody is well, will try to get back later.

Well it stopped raining here and we have some sun but the wind is still high and a bit on the chilly side.

Cleaned and had a tidy up in the kitchen this morning and cleared my desk too.

Has anyone sent off for the free spoons from Kellogs cereal? Or should I say is anyone saving up for any more??

Afternoon All
What a filthy morning it was.I think it has passed over now and it does seem to be brightening up a bit. What a pity for you Frank not to be able to get out with all this rain.Tomorrow is bound to be better :-D.Are the stairs steep ,which makes it difficult for you ,or just the fact it is stairs?.Once a day to climb them sounds enough :-D.Hope there is a loo downstairs for you :-D :-D

Mel good job all the big girls were safe this morning.Could the fox have got in ? Maybe the Big Rabbit copied up with them all for the night lol

I think I am going to risk hanging some towels out on the line.Fingers crossed.

Frank Report 18 May 2015 13:21

Afternoon all,

What have you done with the weather Mel??? Horrible wind and rain this morning, sun and white clouds this afternoon.

Jan and Ros have gone to Newton Abbott. Jan has something she's got to do. So I am BABY sitting. I have had the back kitchen door open and he has been sitting outside with the wind blowing his ears around. He has his nose pointed into the wind, and seems to be enjoying it.

Have had trouble getting up and down stairs, so I stayed upstairs and got showered shaved and dressed, now I am down and won't go up again till bedtime tonight.

Watch "HOME FIRES" last night, but with all the chattering going on beside me, didn't see all of it.

After dinner tonight I might have a walk to the pub I found at Christmas, and look at the football, while the girls watch their Soaps.

I won't be going walkies along the sea front this afternoon. I have the house to myself, so will sit in the lounge and read my book.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Well it's a horrid morning here with lashing rain and a very high wind. Not a good day for those who are down here in the west country.

I put some netting round my tub of runner beans yesterday evening and today it has blown off so I don't hold out much hope for the bean plants.

I also said goodnight to the big girls last night opening their door to see how many were on the perches as I had cleaned them out and promptly forgot to shut them in. When I looked out the bedroom window this morning they were out in the run with a huge rabbit!!

Frank Report 17 May 2015 20:47

Here we are safe and sound. We got away about 11.00 am Stopped for a coffee and a Cornish Pastie about 1.30. Arrived here for 3.00 pm.

THREE CAR Pile up as we got to join the A 380. Loads of road works, and reduced lanes. The last car seemed to have been going to fast and ploughed into the car in front, who went into the car in front of him. Police Ambulance and breakdown lorries everywhere, that held us up for a good half hour

The little dog is lovely and friendly. I can see I will get on with him.

Had a smashing time last night. There must have been around 100 people there, The evening was a complete success, I took a few beers and a bottle of RED with me, but there was cold boxes full of beer all around the garden, which to say the least is massive. There were 4 Marques with tables in as well as seats all around the garden. We arrived about 4.30 pm and left around 9.00 pm. They had a HOG ROAST which was served on the front drive, and we took it back into the rear garden. It seemed so strange seeing a queue of people lined up down the street to be served.

Jan did a nice Roast pork dinner for 6.00pm It was nice not to have to prepare and cook it !!!!

Mel. Can you please pm me with your post code. If Ros feels up to the drive and it's not too far, I would like to try to get to meet you in PERSON. <3 <3

Nice blue sky when we arrived but turning chilly now.

Going to get myself a beer then watch HOME FIRES.. I am sure I will sleep well tonight.

Sleep tight all, see you in the morning.
