Afternoon Everyone
What a lovely day it has turned out to be.The sun has been shining nearly all day .
I asked Chris why our big Yew hedge looked all kind of orangey..He said it is all the Pollen !!!!.Maybe all your sneezes are to do with that Pollen Frank..That is an awful lot.How do manage to catch your breath ???

Frank please remind me of the name of that stone cleaner.I forgot all about it.It is funny that 3 of us are all heading down to the South West at the same time I am hoping to get to Plymouth by early Afternoon on Friday so we can go to the Church then(weather permitting).

Morning all and evening Kim,

Much brighter today here and dry. Just going to put a wash on the line and then do a bit in the garden before lunch.

Hav'nt looked at the camera yet.

Did anyone take a look at the program on BBC2 about people who take wild life pics in their gardens. There were two boys 10 and 12 who record everything they see in the garden and have a hide they have their breakfast in sometimes. Two little budding broadcaster there I think as they were so natural about talking on camera.
Program was called Modern Times the Great British Garden Watch 9pm.

Sandra would have liked it Gill.

Morning Flowers, Evening Kim,

Jane, We set off to Devon on Sunday mid morning, and come back sometime Friday. So we will all be passing one and other on the M 4 or 5 lol like passing ships in the night.

Well it's dry here this morning but not very bright. Will wait and see how things develop.

Yes Ann, I am sure there's a little dog out there somewhere for me, but I must not be tempted :-D :-D A dog is for life etc. Plus we would need a dog sitter when we go away. Plus I am not sure I would be able to exercise it, as much as it would need/want.

Hope your mower man comes today Mel, Then OH will be happy riding up and down his lawns again.

I think if I water the greenhouse tomorrow pm. It should be alright till mid week, then Pam next door will only need to top up the trays, and we will be back Friday evening.

I am pleased the lawns are all done, so I won't need to worry about those.

The bathroom is well engaged, Madam is showering and hair washing, I bet it will be an hour before I can get in there. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Jane tell Chris he's not the only one. I haven't seen a carrot, parsnip, beetroot, lettuce or spring onion YET. and they were sown last month. !!! Everything else is going along fine. My runners are getting well up the netting and sticks. (I WILL BE PICKING THEM NEXT WEEK) :-D :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Ann where are you going on holiday ?? Will you be calling in on Mel ??? I would love to think if we have the time and Ros doesn't mind the drive we might get down to see her. I think it's about an hour from Torquay.

Jane did you think of getting any of that stone cleaner for your Mums gravestone ???

I have been having sneezing bouts again, anything from 15 to 30 time in a session. Ros swears there is something wrong with me. AS IF !!!

Typical of you women, go and buy 3/4 tops and take two back. Then see something else you like and BUY that. Our porch always has something in it, that has got TO GO BACK. I keep telling her to put all the out of size/dated items in a Charity bag, to make more room in her walled robe . BUT DOES SHE NO !!! Just pushes them in to make room.

The sky is starting to brighten, so fingers crossed.

Have a good day everyone,

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 May 2015 22:24

YThank goodness they came before you went away Ann. It must be nice to ssit or laze on a settee now instead of the wicker chairs. Are you pleased with them?

Well I think I am off to the shower now and then watch Bear Grylls the rest of yesterdays and todays and then bed.

The mower man should be here tomorrow so saying night night now and see you all in the morning. Sleep tight.

Evening All,

Well it turned very wet here all afternoon but is just what the garden needs to save us a watering job before we go away. :-)

Thanks for the photos Jane, I liked the one of the gardens and I love to see old buildings like the timbered house.

Gill, I suspect who actually paid the mortgage may not matter. If you look at the cold facts about who owned your house, in law your daughter partly owned your house and then gifted her share to you. It sounds as if you are right in saying the value of that share remains vulnerable for you till the 5 years is up. I would still get it checked though and see if there is anything you can do to safeguard yourselves. I think Mandy's right about if you move to another place too. I can quite understand why it is a worry for you and it is such a shame as you have obviously proved you could manage the mortgage and actually pay it off without any help from your daughter. It's a pity the lender wouldn't give you a mortgage with adding her name and have saved this problem occurring. It is very important that your daughter is careful what financial arrangements she makes with any boyfriend she may set up house with in the future till this time limit has expired, well it's sensible at any time really. Anything set up 'jointly' means being liable for a partner's share as well as her own. There are ways to do things so that each party is just liable for their own share so she would be wise get advice beforehand.

I bet squirrels are territorial, if only to keep their nuts to themselves! lol We have seen them chakking away at each other and chasing in the trees in a churchyard.......but maybe that was courting?

We went to Nuneaton this morning as OH needed to pop to his bank so I nipped in Deben*ams and got 4 tops.......2 are going back. :-S This afternoon I was going to sort things for going away, but one of my beading pals wanted details iof what we are doing tomorrow. Could I find the pattern........?? I ended up doing a lot of tidying in the study before I eventually found it, but I've scanned and sent it to her now. I've also been like Gill and busy with my tree. I've a new contact in Australia and we are sure we are related but can't quite find that missing connection. I didn't get much done in the end so tomorrow afternoon it will be all go as I shall be busy packing, cleaning and sorting a few food essentials to take.

Frank that little dog has taken your fancy. There must be another like it at a rescue home with your name on it!!! ;-) You know you will want one all the more after seeing the little King Charles spaniel next week.

Yes the sofas came Mandy and fit in nicely. The chaps only took about 10 minutes and were careful so that was good.

Mel it is a very high pollen count at the moment so your sneezes might be to do with that.I know my sneezes are.
Poor Fiona still having trouble with her hand.It has been going on for a long while now.Hopefully it will soon start to clear up .Just that dreadful itching must drive her potty :-S :-S
I do think the Comic night tonight will make a lot of money for Johnny's Happy Place.I know they will be selling T Shirts with the logo on so that will make even more.I wouldn't be surprised if they make a couple of thousand.Johnny's Mum I think will be overwhelmed tonight with the support :-D

Mandy I was so chuffed with myself for not getting lost LOL.When Chris rang me to ask where I was I was able to direct him (from my map) street by street to the cafe I was sitting outside. He was about a good half a mile away then .So I kept my eyes peeled and eventually spotted him on the other side of the little square standing looking all around. He finally saw me waving like a maniac :-DI think he was secretly impressed that I hadn't got myself lost ,but being the way he is didn't had out any praises .He was probably just thankful he didn't have to come and rescue me LOL
I'm not as helpless as he thinks :-D :-D..tough old bird

Frank,Chris got the grass cut yesterday,as he knew it might be a wet day today. He is very disappointed with the Carrots,Parsnips,Beetroot. They don't seem to have germinated so are all having to be replanted.
Now, I seem to have lost track with all the posts I missed while I was away. Are you going to Devon then Frank?Going when Ann comes back from Cornwall? I will be going down to Plymouth with Hannah next Friday. So the 3 of us will all be going either one way or the other on the M5 LOL....Mel what a pity you aren't in South Devon .We could all have had a little get together :-D
Ann will be either all packed now ,or have everything ready to go :-D

I still haven't had dinner.Hannah cooked us a cracking Omelette at lunch time with all sorts in it,and I really don't feel that hungry. But I have one of those 'healthy ' ready meals I can just pop in the microwave for 4 minutes.Chris has just had his.Our healthy eating went right out the window in Paris :-S :-S...We had so many really good meals plus the wine.Chris reckons he has put on 2 and a half Kilos...Dread to think what I put on. :-S :-S.I didn't dare stand on the scales. :-S :-S

i HAV'NT BEEN AROUND AS i WENT SHOPPING THIS AFTERNOON. Sorry did'nt mean to shout.......

It rained here all morning till I went out and then it brightened up a bit and when I was in Holsworthy I was hot as I had a raincoat on.

I have done nothing but sneeze for the last couple of days so I suppose I have a cold now. :-(

Jane hope the do for Johnny goes off well. Sounds like it could raise quite a bit of money. A lovely idea to keep his memory alive.

I had an email from Fiona today. Her hand is still not good and still very itchy. Mine on the other hand is nearly completely better with the two creams the doc gave me. I have told her what I had and told her to ask her doc if she can have those. She sent me a pic of her hand and it looks just like that which I had and on the same left hand too. All my little blister type things have gone and the skin just looks a bit streched where it all was now. I am carrying on with the Aqudrate moisturizer (sp)

Evening all,

I have just stripped down to shorts again. Ros felt cold and put the heating up, it's now like a "BAKE HOUSE" I will have to turn it down again, or I will get bad tempered if I get too hot :-P :-P

I have just blasted a very strong letter off to 10 Downing Street regarding all this business of the returning people from a certain Foreign Country. I don't suppose it will do any good, but I feel better getting it of my CHEST. !!!

Good advise coming to you Gill from all directions. I have never had any dealings with the CAB, but know of people who have, and they all speak very highly of the treatment and advise. SO GO FOR IT "N O W "

Liz, It's me that usually puts away the shopping, and I have trouble finding space in the cupboards and fridge. She just sees things and thinks I will put those in the store cupboard. I keep telling her there is no SPACE But she never listens . ;-) ;-) ;-)

DERBY AND JOAN tonight then Jane. I bet Chris was cheesed off not being able to get his grass cut today. I think it's going to get better tomorrow or Saturday. I hope Saturday is fine we are at that party and I am sure it will be BBQ and everyone in the garden. :-| :-| :-| Can you imagine it !!!

Soaps are on till 9.00 I think, so EBAY here I come.

Glad you liked the pics.Liz mis spent youth.Bet you were as good as gold lol Frank I can't imagine there would be fish in the fountains these days.I bet it was lovely feeding them with your children.
I meant to say how many homeless people had such a variety of 'pets'..mainly dogs and cats. One woman had the biggest Rabbit. It was rather sad though to see them all.One chap had 2 newborn puppies feeding from the Mum :-(.There is no way he would be able to look after 3 dogs.Another man had a cart (bit like an old fashioned small market trolley )there was a slot for people to put coins in.But he had 3 small dogs and at least a couple of cats all curled up together. How they don't run off I don't know .Unless they are given something to make them sleep. All the homeless pets seemed to be well looked after and seemed healthy. Some even have pet baskets/carriers .I do hate to see them though as it does upset me.I know they are company but they don't deserve to live a life on the main city streets.Neither of course do the people.

Gill ,Hannah had some fantastic help and advice from CAB after she split from her partner a few years ago.He left and she couldn't afford to continue the big mortgage repayments. They acted as mediators and managed to do a deal with the mortgage company where Hannah paid a certain amount as a lump sum and the rest was written off.The house went to the Mortgage company. It was a dreadfully worrying time but CAB were just the best and she was allocated one person who took her case on.
I do hope you get some good help and advice .It must be such a worry for you and can'y be doing either of you any good.

I had to turn the heating on at lunch time as it was beginning to feel quite chilly in the house. We haven't had any heavy rain ,just horrible drizzle.
Hannah and James have just left to go to the Charity Comedy Night for 'Johnny's Happy Place'.It is a sell out which is fantastic :-D :-D.
I did an early dinner for them .Just me and Chris to see to now.

Evening all,

It's been quite a dull and chilly day here ,not a day for doing anything in the garden .

Nice to see you had a good time away Jane and didn't get lost :-D thanks for the photo's ,you can see how nice and sunny it was with that lovely blue sky .
Now it's back to the washing and cooking again :-(

Gill it sounds as if you could still be taking he problem with you if you move ,surly if you bought another property and if your daughter went bankrupt they could still claim on your new property as it would have bought with the gifted share from Michelle of this bungalow your now in ,if that makes sense !!
I would certainly get some new advice , there's no point in moving if you don't have too :-)

Hope you both enjoy your time in Devon Frank ,i can just see the little doggy taking you for a walk !! :-D

Ann did your new sofa's arrive ?

Gill, I've pm'd you!

Frank Report 14 May 2015 17:47

My it has been quiet on here today.

Thank you Jane for the photo's. The first one bought back some memories. Back in the 70s I took my X and the children to Spain by car for a months camping. On the way back we stopped in Paris and parked under Notre Dame and walked around Paris. We went to the Arch de Triumph and there were fountains with Carp in them. We fed the fish with triangles of soft cheese, which we had in our bag. The old grey matter is still working :-D :-D :-D Glad you had a nice time.

You might have bought a bit better weather back with you. It's been a complete let down today. I just went to feed the birds, and it's still miserly outside.

In comparison Conrad said Spain is very HOT one evening this week it was 30 degrees. I saw on the news that one part had 41 degrees. That's even too hot for me.

I bet no one got any gardening done today. I'm glad I got mine all done earlier in the week.

That water feature with the leaves has been given to Harvey. Much to my disgust, I would have found somewhere for that in the dining room. :-P :-P :-P

Easy dinner tonight Tesc# Finest lasagne with salad. With this weather I should have done something HOT !!!!

Gillx Report 14 May 2015 12:47

Afternoon Frank

Yes I was thinking of going to the CAB my mum told me this morning that my dad spoke to a solicitor at the CAB when he had an accident. Apparently at some CAB's solicitor's go there in the evening's so people can get some legal advice so I'm going to ring them and see if they do it here and then make an appointment. I just want some clarification on the situation and to see if the note on the deeds can be reversed so we can take the property off the market, make the changes we want and be happy without the worry of what might happen over the next few years.

The little dog sound lovely, I'm more a cat person with having a bad experience with a dog when I was three but some of them are so cute you can't help loving them. Your poor neighbour having to find her own way to the hospital while her husband sat at home. It was nice of Ros to offer her help though.

I've just put some nuts outside my back door thinking Rosie had come but realised when the squirrel started eating the nuts it's the other tame squirrel I was telling you about a few weeks ago. Sandra is made up with have another squirrel to feed, although both of us are wondering what's happened to Rosie as we haven't seen her for a while. Rosie is quite old but I don't know how long squirrel's live so can't be sure if she's died or not. Or it could be because this other squirrel is around it might be putting her off. Are squirrel territorial like cat's and the new squirrel has now taken over Rosie's territory. Does anyone know :-S :-S.

Off to get some lunch now before OH get's home from work, he finishes at 2pm today unless they want him to stay till 8pm, he said he would ring me if that was the case.

Frank

Frank Report 14 May 2015 11:55

Morning all, Evening Kim,

WELCOME HOME MADAM !!!!

Gill, I have been reading about your problems. Without being pushy. Why don't you go to the CAB. They have very good people, who work for free, and will give you sound advice of what to do. I am sure you are worried (as we all would be) not knowing all the ins and outs of what went on at the time. So it is time for your on peace of mind, that you get this sorted out NOW.

Dodgy morning here, rain first thing now cloudy and miserable.,

Jan Skyped me this morning, they have the same weather as you Mel, I think it's spreading through the whole Country today, So it will be BOOK AND ARMCHAIR.

Ros has popped out to meet Harvey, to give him his Anniversary present and card. She will then pop into Tesc# for a couple of bits, and should be home by 12.30 pm.

That little miniature "YORKIE" I mentioned is NINE years old. I told her owner last night that we would "BABY SIT" her if they want to go away on holiday, but not to expect to get her back on their return :-D :-D :-D <3 <3 <3 She is such a little darling. !!! Ros said I can see us ending up at a rehoming centre before long, and coming home with a dog. I like to think I can resist the attraction of another pet !!
Next week I will be with Jan's baby King Charles Cocker Spaniel, so that won't help. I am looking forward to strolling along the sea front with him trotting beside me on his lead.

You know I have mentioned our neighbour Val who is a poor old thing. On Monday Tony let het walk to the bus stop, get a bus into town and make her own way to the hospital for a check up on her tooth extraction and make her own way home many hours later, while he sat on his ar#e in doors. Ros told her off for not asking her to take her. She just replied "I WAS ALRIGHT"

Coffee time for me. and I think I will put some trousers on, bit chilly with shorts !!!

Gillx

Gillx Report 14 May 2015 11:53

Morning all

Looks like a dull day here with possible rain on the horizon and to top it all off the estate agent has just rang to cancel the viewing with had today :-(.

Yes Ann, you're spot on saying that some people give their assets away to family members to avoid paying their debts knowing they are going to become bankrupt which is why the insurance doesn't cover us, only the people who buy our property because they aren't family member's of Michelle and this runs for five years. That bit I understood when the solicitor explained it to us. What I didn't understand is that Michelle didn't buy this property she was only on the mortgage because OH hadn't been in his new job for the six months needed to get the mortgage himself. The mortgage advisor said it would be ok and never explained any bankruptcy situation which would happen when Michelle gave us our property back.

We will explain the fact that she never paid anything to purchase the property to the new solicitor so therefore never really owned it in the first place, she was only on the deeds in name only, which we did explain to the original solicitor who said it didn't matter, in the hope that we can sort this problem out and stay here. I'm also worried that we might lose a sale because of this situation even though we don't want to move but feel we have to. We've got another four and a half years of this worry. I don't think Michelle will go bankrupt but sometimes these things just happen.

We're trying to look on the bright side and have started to make plans to alter this place to suit our needs more and possibly taking the property off the market. I know it looks as if we're ignoring the situation but sometimes you need to get away from your problems and have a bit of real life instead, it's cheered us all up a bit and Sandra is looking forward to have a big room and decorating it the way she wants rather than decorating to move (neutral colours) she'd like a pink room, not to much pink just a little to make it her own, at the moment everywhere is white and not very homely.

The bankruptcy situation doesn't transfer to the new place Liz it only applies to this property which is why we needed the insurance. This is why we thought it was the only way we could rid ourselves of the situation by moving but there is nothing out there we like or can afford in this area so we could end up moving to somewhere we hate and moving costs so much nowadays what with Agents fees and solicitors fees and the like. We'd rather spend that money on doing the alterations on this place instead. Let's hope the new solicitor can sort it out for us then we can take our property off the market and enjoy living here without the worry of what might or might not happen over the next four and a half years.

Thanks for all your support and sorry to bring a downer on the thread, I'll think happy thoughts from now on :-D :-D :-D.

That's the problem Jane when you come back off holiday, all the washing and ironing ;-) sounds like you've had a great time and the weather was good for you too. There's nothing worse than going away and it rains all the time. What other places did you go to. Can't wait to see all your pics <3 <3.

Well, Sandra and I did all the hovering and dusting this morning when we thought we had a viewing so all the housework is done nice and early so I might go and have another look at my family tree now. It's coming on great lately and I'm really enjoying myself, I've even found out there was a bigamist in my family and his first wife ended up in the Workhouse. I'd like to know how she ended up there, although I'll probably never find that info out. The poor woman had a terrible life by the looks of it I feel so sorry for her.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Wet wet wet here and it has been lashing down so I don't know what it is going to be like up your ways.

Ann he has this new ride on mower and thats the one thats gone wrong which we are waiting to be picked up. He had to push it in the workshop last night and he's had a call this morning to say they are now picking it up tomorrow and not today as its raining andwe won't want it getting wet onthe trailer on the way back to Exeter. Both the other motor mowers go along on their own so you only have to hang onto the handle and walk behind them but its the walking he can't do anymore.

Done it yet again forgotten to post my message....... I must be getting old....
