Morning/Evening All I think the rain is on it's way now.It seems to be getting quite dark and very grey now.Hannah is driving her friend Sarah to Stanstead Airport right now (the friend who is moving to Valencia for a year).Hopefully Hannah will get home before the weather gets too bad.
Liz Paris was much nicer this year. There weren't the horrendous queues to get in to certain places.I thin the longest we waited this year was about 10 minutes. We had no rain and the only day that was too hot for me was on Monday. Our Hotel was just a few minutes walk from the Seine and Notre Dame,in a nice quiet street so we weren't disturbed by all the police sirens which seem to go on for 24 hours !!!.I think they just like using them LOL . I will try and send a few pics later ,but I need to get on with MORE ironing :-S

Gill, I think Ann could well have shed some light on your dilemma! But I think you need to check that this charge doesn't transfer to your new home, even if you don't need a mortgage, as I still find it a bit odd that anyone buying your house would inherit this arrangement, I could well be wrong but at least it would make everything clear. Oh dear, not going to be a good weather day here! We shall be shopping today, then off to see daughter. Nice to see you back Jane, and I'm glad Paris came up to scratch!!

Oh dear Gill, this house problem must be getting you down. So your daughter gifted her share of your bungalow to you and her name was taken off the deeds. On the face of it It would appear from what you say that your daughter no longer has any part ownership of your bungalow, but the fact it was gifted has given me a possible clue.
I think that there might be some kind of rule that applies to prevent those people who think they will be in debt in the near future from deliberately giving away their assets. They could then declare themselves bankrupt to avoid paying their debts? It would also explain why some kind of charge would be lodged on the asset for a certain period after it was gifted, which could explain the 5 years and why insurance would be needed to cover the gift value if the worst happened.. This is only an idea I have come up with though and may not be right at all, so please do like Liz says and check it out with a solicitor.
Jane has been busy since she got back and sounds like she had a really good time. :-) :-) Soon to be off again as well!
Frank, you certainly get out and about don't you and put us youngsters ;-) ;-) to shame! lol. We'll be passing through Devon the day before you on the way down and the day after you coming back. I envy you that lovely lilac scent wafting in. MMMM I can almost smell it..
Does your OH get out of puff or just find the mowers hard to push Mel? They are big lawns you have though and it must be hard if they get a bit long. He needs a ride on one. :-D
Ooops! Better get to bed.......a bit of a lie in tomorrow......bliss. :-)

The rabbit hole is covered up again tonight when I went round to shut the chickens in. I had seen one baby bunny go in the chicken house when I was in the bedroom before I went round there. It was'nt in there when I shut them in for the night.

Oh Gill, I am sorry that you have this worry particularly as you clearly don't want to move, and I do hope that you don't think that I'm interfering into your business. I fully understand why your daughter initially helped with your mortgage, but the fallout from it so to speak, does seem very hard and a bit odd. If your daughter 'gifted' you three her share, then it must be that it is yours unconditionally (or were there strings attached?) and therefore cannot be used by her for any purpose, and why five years?!! Did you sign an agreement to this effect when the mortgage was first taken out?! Bearing this in mind it might well be a good idea you could get a completely independent person to go over the paperwork just to see exactly what was agreed at the time, bearing in mind solicitors jargon!!!!and to see if there is a way to sort this problem out without you having to have all the hassle of a move you don't want and a worry you can well do without! Some solicitors do give a free half hour of advice which would probably be long enough to get some idea of where you stand and hopefully put your minds at rest. Hope this is a bit helpful!

Oh hello Jane didn't see you there. Sounds like you've had a great time and so glad the weather was nice for you and that you didn't get lost, I know you were a bit worry about that weren't you??
So it's back to all the chores now :-D :-D :-D you'll need another holiday in a couple of weeks to get over all the work you've now got to do. I can't wait to see all your pics. You've been missed on here it's been very quiet, but to be fair the weather has been lovey so we've all been out and about and gardening.
I'm sorting out dinner too so I'd better get back to it. It's so nice to have you back <3 <3

Yes I will have to look further into the bankruptcy issue Liz, it's very worrying and what makes it worse is that because Michelle came off the deeds it's classed as her gifting her legal share of the property back to us and because we didn't give her any money then it's something to do with being undervalue. I'm not sure what that means exactly. But the situation was quite simple really, we needed a mortgage when we sold our last property to buy this one but because OH hadn't been in his new job 6 months they wouldn't let him have the mortgage and as you know I'm Sandra's carer so I didn't qualify for the mortgage on my own either, so the mortgage advisor said that Michelle could come on the mortgage with us because she'd been working long enough and qualified for a mortgage.
Most of this property was bought with the proceeds of our last property and we paid the mortgage off not Michelle, so how her quarter became a gift to us when she hadn't paid anything towards the property in the first place is a mystery to me. So as a result if Michelle was to get herself into serious debt and had to make herself bankrupt the people she owes money to can come after a quarter of the value of our property within five years. We have taken out insurance to cover the amount but unfortunately it doesn't cover us only the next people who buy our property. So as you can see it's quite worrying and it doesn't help when neither OH or I really want to move, we like living here and would love to stay.
So maybe it's time to explain all this to a different solicitor, like you said and see if the gift situation can be removed from the deeds, as it doesn't seem very fair that we could possibly lose our property should Michelle end up in financial difficulties when she didn't pay a penny towards buying this property in the first place. She never paid any of the mortgage either, we paid it off.
Sorry.....I feel a bit better now I've got that off my chest <3.
The one good thing is, Michelle can't borrow against this property as it's no longer legally hers and she couldn't before anyway without the permission of the other legal owners, that being Sandra OH and I.
On a positive it's still a lovely sunny day here :-D :-D :-D.
Off to start dinner now, does anyone know what time Jane is due back today. It was today wasn't it ??????

You can always borrow my little Electric one Mel LOL I did my front lawn this afternoon and trimmed the edges.
Ros has been busy potting on tomato plants to stand at the side of the bungalow near the fence. Once again this year we will be feeding the neighbours with Tomato's and Runners. We have 8 plants in the greenhouse and 4 up the sideway, and I have about 4 dozen Runner bean plants growing up the bottom fence.
It's been a lovely day here, with plenty of sunshine and very little breeze.
Would you believe my stupidity I have ordered TWO punches to make more holes in my belts. One also has an eyelet fixture, so that might be useful to PIERCE ROS'S EARS. she can then hang her earrings from them :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3
I had better be careful, or I can see her punching a hole in my nose and leading me about on a rope.<3 <3 :-( :-( :-(
Tony has just called over the fence to see if I want to go to watch the football tonight. I had better go, as I would hate to upset him !!!!
Ros is doing a stir fry tonight, so I can relax with the news at 6.00 pm.

Forgive me Gill ,but are you absolutely sure about this bancruptcy problem hanging over your house? as I can't for the life of me understand how this could possibly be an issue if, as I think you said, your daughter has been removed from your deeds and your mortgage cleared! Your daughter simply wouldn't legally be able to borrow against your property without your permission and any outstanding debt incurred, would have to be cleared by you on completion with the money from the sale of.your house. Any future debt could never legally be the responsibility of the new owners of your home, unless they actually sanction your daughters borrowing, using their house as collateral, which let's face it isn't very likely!!! It might be an idea to get some completely independent advice about this.perceived situation, as I just can't see that what you've been told/ signed can possibly be correct as it just wouldn't be legal!!.

Afternoon all
What a lovely day, I went out this morning in the garden with my cuppa and lost track of time enjoying the sunshine.
I was so busy yesterday catching up on all my washing, I don't know where it all comes from lol. Just a few things to do around here today ready for the next viewing tomorrow, although they'll probably be more time wasters.
I'm beginning to think we're never going to sell this place, it's got to the stage now that OH and I are thinking of staying put and altering this place to suit us. We need a bigger bathroom and kitchen so it's thinking caps on to try and sort out those two problems and if we can afford to do it then we'll take this place off the market and stay put. The only real problem we have is the bankruptcy issue for the next four and a half years, which is why we were selling up in the first place. Why does life have to be so complicated. I'm a great believer in what's meant to be will be, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Did you watch that program on WW1 Frank I mentioned, I watched it and found it really interesting and a bit sad in places. 24 hours was good this week. I hope the weather is nice for you when you go to Devon. Sorry to hear about Carolyn, do the doctors know what's causing it, hope they can help, it must be so frightening for her.
Sorry to hear your car is playing up Ann, at least you know what it is now and can get it fixed, but like you said more expense :-(. Hope OH's leg get's better soon, he should of listened to you ;-) ;-).
Yes I think Jane is back today, looking forward to hearing all about her holiday, hope she didn't get lost :-D :-D :-D.
That was good of the shop to sort out the price on your quilt cover set Mandy, normally they get a bit funny if you've opened stuff then query it, you were luckily all they wanted was the packaging and receipt. Hope you get it sorted out ok. Sounds like you had a lovely day out at the coast.
Love the picture you've put up of Cassie Liz, she's so cute, that was Sandra and my favourite pic of her <3.
I remember the salad spinner's Mel and had one myself. Don't know what happened to it though.
Well, I'd better make a start on sorting this place out ready for tomorrow

Morning my little sunbeams, and afternoon Kim.
Lovely morning here, I have had the conservatory door open since 7.00 am The smell from the Lilac is drifting in. !! I been for a walk round the ESTATE and everything looks O.K. I must get some weeding done on the veg patch. I have poppies growing everywhere,
Isn't it lovely without that wind ??? I am sure it's 5 degrees warmer.
Ann you know us Men, we will always try to do things that we know we need help with, but too late, we have hurt our back !!!
I sat and watched the football last night. So must try to catch up on 24 hours later.
Carolyn very kindly bought me three belts back from Tenerife, but they are all to big for me. I must get some more holes punched in the belts. (I'M ONLY SLIM !!!!) lol
If you are right Mel, we should have Jane home today.
We ARE at a party on Saturday. It's the couple who had the two boys YOM and Jack. Adams birthday was the 8th May and his wife Sam is on 27th May. Both will be FOURTY. It starts at 3.00 pm at the house and goes on till the last one goes home. It won't be us, as we are off the Devon Sunday morning, until Friday.
Must get on a do a few jobs, see you later.

Morning All,
Yes, I had a good sleep too Mel, but was awake from 5.30am. I think it's because I was worried I wouldn't wake early to go to the garage. We just got showered in time before the window cleaner arrived!! My car's been looked at now and the drip isn't oil after all, it's a fuel additive that goes into the diesel tank when you fill up.....all to do with rules on emissions. Apparently it is provided by a bag like a blood transfusion bag and because my car is 7 years old it has probably split! The garage said there would be a warning light if the levels had gone low so it is ok for now while they order a new one for me......MORE EXPENSE as Frank would say! I'm glad it isn't an oil leak, at least the drive won't get in a mess now. We called for a brekkie and read of the paper in the village on the way back which was very nice :-D Off for a relax, cuppa and head massage now while my hair is trimmed. :-) It's nice and sunny here now. OH is resting his leg and doing his notes. He's been limping this morning after wrenching himself yesterday. I did tell him to be careful moving the furniture back in the conservatory but a fat lot of notice he takes of me!!. BBL

Stoppit Mandy.......you'll have Frank drooling all over the thread!! lol. :-D Mind you I could drool too at the thought of seaside F&C. :-) I bet it was lovely to be at the coast today with the clean, fresh air. Did you walk on the beach at all? I love looking at the pretty shells and pebbles and listening to the sea. Your toms and cues sound as if they are doing well. I think the cold weather seemed to set mine back and next week they will be fending for themselves. The garage is quite good and always try to fit you in quick even if it's just to have a look and see if it's a simple thing they can fix there and then. We were going to them 20 years ago when the father ran the place. I'm hoping that it's something easy that needs tightening properly after the last service. I noticed they had some new mechanics last time I went. Oh the dreaded greenfly are here are they!!! I must spray the sides of the little waterfall as I noticed some ants while I was in the garden this morning.
Well, this week is disappearing fast so I don't think I shall get everything done I wanted to before we go away. Car and hair in the morning and now we've had a phone call to say the settees are arriving tomorrow afternoon!!! :-0 So I've just had to hoover and dust the lounge ready as I won't be here in the morning.....no point putting them down on a dusty floor. Then it's beading on Friday morning so there's not much time left. :-S I had a call to say my fused glass can be picked up next week so I shall be collecting that when we get back........I'm hoping at least some of it has turned out ok.
Isn't it just awful there being a second big earthquake in Nepal, those poor people.

Evening all,
We've been to the coast today ( Wells) ,it was really nice the tide was coming in and there were a few fishing boats coming in on the tide . we had the usual F&C :-D And Frank guess what we bought home for our sandwiches ...... ....a lovely fresh yummy Crab ;-) :-D :-D
I didn't hang my washing out until we came home so i must get it in soon ,there's a good blow out this evening .
I carn't remember mum having a shaker for her salad leaves ,but i do remember her using the tea towel method ,and then later on in came the salad spinners !! turn the handle on the top and spin the leaves round inside , i think we had one as a wedding present ,i don't know what happened to it .
Thats good the garage can fit your car in tomorrow Ann, hope it's nothing to serious and expensive !! It's strange how these rattles start and stop we had a rattle and it really annoys you when your driving then all of a sudden it just stops . I turned the radio on the other day when i was driving ,i pushed the wrong buttons and now it's taken all the programmed stations we had on each button off :-0 will have to get son to reprogramme them all again ,he does it so much quicker than we can . My tomato and cucmber plants are coming along nicely ,they have grown quite a bit since i planted them up . I had to spray the roses yesterday when i looked they were covered in blooming green fly !!
Oh better get my washing in ,i should think it all dry now .
