Afternoon All,
A breezy one with patchy sun here, but like Mel I've got washing done and dried and planted the new Clematis in the border in the metal obelisk. I tried to bury this one really deep like they recommend this time. All it needs now is a few slates around the base to keep the roots cool as it's in a very sunny spot. I even found an old bird's nest this morning that we never knew was there in the middle of a Camellia.
The garage have said they will look at my oil leak tomorrow at 8.00am before anyone else is using the ramps! lol. It means an early start but I have a hair appointment at 11.00am, so it couldn't be much later anyway.
The rattle in the glovebox seems to have gone again Frank, fingers crossed it doesn't start again when we set off!! :-) It's the first air conditioned glovebox we've had so it will be handy for keeping drinks cool. We had a nice lunch at the carvery today and they did OH's favourite bread and butter pudding this time so he was well pleased. I had the eton mess with cream, strawberries and meringue. I've started packing a few things now, undies, tablets, toiletries, chargers. I'm always meaning to do it but this time I'm doing a list as I pack things and will keep it in my suitcase. It will save me wracking what's left of my brains next time.......I can just scan the list to remind me of things I might forget. :-)
Mel, why don't you get a small tunnel you will be able to put up more easily? I love it in the cosy greenhouse on chilly mornings. :-) Having said that we need to do something about our raised beds as the corners are moving and the sides are in danger of falling out. :-S I think it needs longer posts that go in deeper.
Best sort some beads and paints to take away with me next week now. :-)

Frank I think Jane may be home on Wednesday. I can't remember what day they went!! but I know it is quiet on here without our Jane.
I have done two lots of washing, had my friend Di here this morning and done some gardening.
Had a look at the camera and the pics were the same really as yesterday but the babies are running around more last night and one even went through the chicken fence but came back soon after. So I think they are nearlly ready for the off. If the rabbit does it again I want to get her on film opening the nest and closing it when she leaves.
There is quite a wind here today too Frank and it is a bit on the chilly side.
I have tidied up two of my stawberry stacking pots and refreshed the earth and now I am going up to the tunnel to get my other plant stand to put in front of my shed so I can put some plants on it out of the way of the rabbits. I also have to fix netting to the one the strawberries are on so if I do get some berries the birds don't eat them.
I do miss my tunnel..............................

Morning Girls and Boys, Evening Kim,
Mandy I almost fell of my chair laughing. Where on earth did he find that tune from the grey matter.??? At least mine was current. Jesus want's me for a sun beam, I sang that when I was about THREE YEARS OLD !!!
You know what they say Gill "There's nowt as queer as folks" It must get frustrating having these people around. :-( :-(
Very windy here now, we had rain in the night, so I wasted my time doling all the watering yesterday evening.
The neighbours are saying how beautiful the Wisteria and Clemitas is looking The clemitas is so high in the cherry tree, that it can be seen by people walking down the road.
Home alone from 10.00 am. Carolyn has some business in Peterborough this morning so off they went. They will no doubt have a nose around the shops there, before coming back to Northampton.
Carolyn has to go for an X RAY on her hands. The thick part of her thumbs near the palms, is disappearing (wasting away) so her thumbs are going into her palms as she has no control over them. She will know more when they get the results back to her Doctor. How long they will be at the hospital is anyone's guess. So I don't know what time they will arrive home.
When is our Jane back ???
I bet Cassie loves this wind blowing in her face, as she runs over the fields. How's the training coming on Liz ??
Last night down the pub, I took a pocket full of doggy chew sticks. There were FOUR dogs there last night, and they all became my BEST FRIENDS. One was a miniature Yorkshire Terrier. She had such a job chewing the sticks, that I had to break them up in tiny pieces. I wanted to bring her home with me, (she would have fitted just right in my pocket) The owner wouldn't let me !!!
Lazy day for me, once I get dressed it will be my book in the armchair on on a seat outside. (depending on the breeze)
I have had a nice Eggs Bacon Tomato and two slices of toast this morning, so won't want anything till tonight.
Hope you get the rattle sorted Ann, nothing worse on a long journey.
I think we are off to a 40th Birthday Party on Saturday, and going down to Devon on Sunday for a few days.

Liz I think when we had the caravan at St Osythe we had a white sort of see through one too. Mum used the tea towel method too and put the toms in one and rolled them back and forth to dry those. I still do that if I have a lot of toms to wash and dry.
Just going to look and see what I caught on camera last night.

Yes, I remember those salad shakers Mel! My mother also had a red one!! (perhaps that was the only colour along then) I can also remember her putting salad leaves in a (clean) tea towel and shaking lettuce that way. Must have been before the red shaker!! Nice day here too, but WINDY!! OH took Cassie for a good walk this morning, so she is now fast asleep in her crate!! I've had a good hoover round and cleaned the bathroom, so will sit out for a while, out of the wind!! then have a look at the garden, again!! Hope everyone is ok today.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Another lovely morning here and I am all ready to get back in the garden today.
I hope Jane has this weather in Paris and is enjoying her stay.
While washing my salad leaves yesterday lunchtime and having them in a colender I remembered mum had a thing like two hanging baskets that clipped together she used to put the lettuce leaves in and go in the garden and give them a swirl round to dry the leaves. Mums was red plastic.
Done it again, written the post and not posted it.!!!!! :-D

I hope your car problem is'nt anything to bad Ann.
I have cleaned the front of the bungalow today but hav'nt swept it all up yet. I had a whole barrow full of weeds and leaves that had gathered in the corner behind the hardy fushia at the side of the porchy bit.
Oh has mowed the back lawn with the pushy mower today as I could hardly see the hog bowls. The grass has grown so much since we had the rain.
I have set the camera again tonight in the same place. Last night I also caught an owl looking around the run but there was'nt a still I could send as when it landed I just got a big fuzz.

I can't see that I'll be taking up that tip Ann!!!!!! Like you, years ago it was work shirts, trousers, school uniform and my own work clothes that all needed the dreaded ironing, but not anymore - HOORAY. Watching Safe House, then bed after a busy day. Hope your car problem isn't serious.

That sounds like a bargain Mandy but it is annoying when you get something with a discount and it goes through at full price, especially if you don't happen to notice and have to go back, pay parking etc. :-S I'm ringing the garage to get my car booked in for straight after we get back. I'm thinking now that it may be from the front end after all, and has blown along the underneath. Time was that I would think nothing of getting down to have a look, but none of that milarkey now with my knees!! lol. I think a sprinkle of sand over the patch will manage till it's looked at. We've only just got rid of one car that dripped oil as well!!
OH has put a new battery in the smoke alarm so that is quiet again now thank goodness. It's a good job we had a spare as even with the battery out it still bleeped and would have kept us awake all night! I've added one to the shopping list as well.
We are like you with the ironing Liz.......as little as we can get away with! OH does ours, except for the odd top of mine, but doesn't often wear all the crisp shirts he used to now he's retired, or suit trousers that needed pressing. If the washing gets a good blow there aren't many creases. I read a tip the other day that suggested ironing the duvet cover on the bed after you've put the duvet in it. I bet Cassie doesn't need telling it's playtime twice!:-D

The sun came out this afternoon and it was warm enough to sit out and have a snooze! All the washing has dried beautifully and is now folded and put away (no ironing!!) We had lunch at lunch time so scrambled eggs for supper, then into the field with Cassie to give her a good run, then Safe House, and bed!!

Evening all,
It's been really warm today , i stripped off the bed and got it all dry ,went shopping this afternoon ,i bought a new quilt cover and pillowcases from Morri*ons it was reduced to £9 !! but when i got home and checked my receipt they had charged me full price for it ,so i rang and spoke to a young chap and it seems they have had problems all day with quilt sets going through the tills ,he told me to take it back but i had got it in the washer !! so i've got to take in the receipt and the cardboard wrapping and they will sort it out .
Goodness Ruby you have had a good time with the All You Can Eat !! :-D Nice to know that there are honest people about ,it must have been a big spider to make him swerve like that poor boy .
Lovely photo's of Franks garden again ,you can see lots of hard work has gone into it ,it look so colourful. It's awful when you carn't get a tune out of your head ,you will laugh when i tell you what hubby was singing the other day ......Jesus Wants me as a sun beam !!! :-D :-D goodness knows where that came from !! he must have heard it some where .
Oh gosh Ann i wonder where the oil is coming from ,you'll have to lay an old baking tin under it to catch the drips it will save having to clean all the drive . I bought a Ceanothus last year and i see mine is now budding up , they are a lovely blue .
Dear little bunnies Mel, watch your hand again if you get the gun out !!

Afternoon All,
Sunny and breezy here, but I've planted up about 8 pots altogether now including the front wall pots. I seem to have 2 red geraniums left so will pop those in the garden somewhere later when I plant 3 shrubs. I had to dig a shrub up and move it along this morning as it has pinky red shoots and was next to the red camellia. Now it shows up better among some shades of green and brightens it up there. :-) Then I tied a ceanothus back to the trellis. It's leaves are almost black and it has very deep blue flowers which are still in bud at the moment. I also did some pruning in the front garden as a shrub was hanging over the neighbour's drive.
Ruby how nice and honest of the neighbour's grandson to do that and clean the mess up. It shows there are some good youngsters about.
Frank you will be needing 40 winks before tonight to catch up some sleep! I see Ros is beavering away outside too. Did you think bunnies fed their young by bringing back mouthfuls of plants for them to chew? :-) My pet rabbits had 2 litters when I was young and the babies are so cute when they first leave the nest with short little ears and the softest velvety noses. The one's in Mel's garden better Run, Run, Run though. :-S Your new camera takes very clear videos doesn't it Mel?
What a shame about the viewing Gill. Surely they would see it was pebbledashed from the estate agent details. Let's hope the lady who has one more to see gets back to you.
This morning when we went out the car seemed to have an occasional slight rattle from the glovebox area so we need to sort that before we go away or it will drive us mad. OH has 2 meetings today and has texted me to tell me my car appears to be dripping oil on the drive now. :-S When I got back from doing a few errands I noticed a few drips, but they are at the back end of the car. I'm wondering if it's to do with the last service a few weeks ago........something else to sort out!! Then, since I sat down in here the smoke alarm started making loud, intermittent beeps, so it looks like that needs a new battery. :-S
I'd better change the bed now and get more washing on for tomorrow. Then see about doing more in the garden.

They say you learn something new every day, today, mine is how the DOE feeds her babies. I knew she had teats, but didn't know that was how she fed the babies.
Well I got the weather wrong. It's been a bit breezy but very warm in the sun. I have cleaned the gutters both back and front, and put some wire mesh in the front gutter to stop all Tony's moss and CRAP coming into my half of the gutter. The water can still get through when it rains.
Ros has been waiting in all day for a telephone call from the Doctors regarding her repeat prescriptions. She is not a HAPPY BUNNY as they still haven't phoned. I booked the call myself on Friday when I went for my injection. If she phones them later I don't want to be around. !!!
Madam has been in the garden all afternoon, clearing the front and sweeping up. She has hosed down the step and replaced all her pots. She is now on the Patio pulling out pots and sweeping up there. Is that what you call SPRING CLEANING ???
What have you all been up to today, very little chat on the thread, but then again, you CHAT all evening long when I am down the pub. !!!

Afternoon all
The sun is out but the wind has got up. OH cut the grass ready for the next viewing but it was to cold to do anything else.
I love the pic of the bunnies Mel. Sandra loves it too.
I've just had some feedback from the viewing we had and they don't want it, apparently they don't like the look of the front of our bungalow because it's painted pebble dash. It doesn't bother us. Each to their own I suppose. To be honest I think they just fancied a day out moseying around other people's property. I wish people would only look if they are genuine, it's waste so much of the vendors time.
There's nothing worse Frank than having a tune stuck in your head. I think it's worse if you hum away to a tune but can't remember what it's called ;-) ;-) ;-). Hope you manage to catch up on your sleep, you don't seem to have had much of it lately.
I'm getting on well with my tree and have lots of certificates to go through then enter it all onto the tree. It's keeping me out of mischief :-D :-D.
Off to read some messages I have now. It's very quiet on here today where is everyone :-(

Well, it's sunshine and showers here, so the washing is now under the overhang where it should dry ok! You said about ironing Gill? I hardly do any ironing these days, just the odd T.shirt, but everything else is easy care, and just gets folded and put away! OH isn't bothered, so there is no way I'm doing more than I absolutely have to. It's a job (like most domestic chores!) that I hate!! Looking for a new mattress for our bed- decisions, decisions!

Morning you lot and evening Kim,
It sounds like you have the weather we have had for the last couple of days but at the moment the sun is shining here and there's a light breeze which is'nt too cold.
I put my camera out last night but the rabbit hole was dug out so I did'nt hold much hope and when I went round this morning to let the chickens out and get the camera it looked just the same as when I set it last night. I hav'nt looked yet to see if it took anything and shal have a butcher hook after posting this.
I wonder what Ann was up to yesterday as we did'nt hear from her.
Must put the washing machine on and see if I can catch some of this sun.

Morning all, evening Kim,
Oh what a night I had. As mentioned I had an early night. I read for a while, then put on Local Radio. I think I have said before .the presenter plays lots of old records.. Last night he played an hour of "WAR TIME MUSIC" I just could not turn it off. So at midnight I tried to settle down, not on your nelly. Vera Lynn's "There will be Bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover" was the last record he played, I just couldn't get it out of my head. I laid until Ros came in at 1.00 am. Up I got and sat reading until 4.00 am .I was awake again at 6.00 and that tune was in my head. I gave up at 7.00 am and got up. IT'S STILL IN MY MIND.
Ruby you have been spoilt by all your family, what a great few days. We have a Chinese Restaurant that has "Eat as much as you like" and we always come away blown out !!!
That was very kind of your neighbours G'Son to replace your mail box post, and to clear all the mess up. It shows he was bought up by a nice family :-) :-)
Weather can't make up it's mind. We have that wind again and the clouds are full of rain. I want to clean out the gutters this morning (weather permitting) but I think that might have to go on the back burner.
How's your tum this morning Mel, more comfortable than yesterday I hope. !!!
Madam now wants to start cleaning down the outside of the conservatory and give it a coat of "sadalin" but with the weather threatening rain, I think that will go on hold as well.
Have a good day, whatever you might be doing. I wouldn't chance going to the coast Mandy ;-) ;-)
