Glad everything is O.K. Mel. After a bout of "GUT ROT" you were bound to feel a bit off colour.
The wind and rain is lashing down at the moment, I glad I am home.
I looked for my wallet this morning, could I find it. NO WAY. I checked it hadn't fallen out of my pocket at the Restaurant. As soon as she heard my voice she said "MR. BEDFORD your wallet is safe with us. How's that for recognizing me !!! I rang Ros and they are picking it up on their was home, they have to almost pass the door.
Salad all done, with beetroot, cucumber, tomato, onions (red and white) mixed salad leaves and baby Jersey Royals. The meat are in the fridge. There is Salmon and Sardines for Conrad if he wants them (He eats those most days in Spain)
I have the two small water features trickling away by my side on the table. I don't think I would want them around me all the time, they make you feel as though you want a WEE all the time :-| :-| ;-) ;-) <3 <3 The biggest one is in the Conservatory. Jan and Conrad can choose the one they want to take home with them.

Morning all, Evening Kim,
On my own, they have gone to Peterborough, I just couldn't be bothered.
I'm glad they don't stay very often. The place is in such a mess. When I got up at 7.15 this morning, the pair of them sat on the sofa under the fleece, watching T.V. and playing with their I pads.
I got breakfast for Conrad, Eggs bacon tomato's and mushrooms. He can't eat bread. Jan had Corn flakes. the same as Ros. Still they sat around as though they had got all day. I said COME ON get yourselves ready as you will never be on time. Finally they left at 9.45. They have to be there by 11.00. The journey takes 1.10 minutes. so they left it tight.
We ended up at the lovely Chinese Restaurant last night. We all came home STUFFED TO THE GILLS. and for the first time in years THEY paid the bill. !!! So things must be improving for them.
As we drove out of the village last night there were "BINS" all in the hedgerow. The wind must have got hold of them during the day. I bet there was some strong words from people trying to find the right bins. !!!
Still not decided then Jane :-D :-D :-D SHAME ON YOU ;-) ;-) ;-)
I have everything to sort out this morning, putting bedding away. I have been landed with getting lunch ready for when they get back. Ham and Beef with various salads . I'll run the hoover through, and sort something out for dinner tonight.
Thinking of it, it would have been easier for me to have gone to Peterborough ;-) ;-) ;-)
See you all later.

Oh Jane how awful having a nest of spiders in your bedroom. I'd love to have seen your face though when you neighbour told you what had happened and you realised the beds weren't made. I assume you clean around the sensor now :-D :-D. I bet you can't wait to see your old teacher. 92 is a good age, our neighbour is 96 and used to have carers, her daughter and grandson look after her now, they go to her's everyday. Maybe you could take some photo's while you're there so you have something to remember the day by. She sounds pleased that you are going to visit her.
I was thinking before that the fox might be getting in underneath the fence Maureen, so it might be worth taking a look to see.
Just watching the end of 20 Moments that rocked Britain, it's quite interesting. Signing off now, be back tomorrow <3

That will be nice to see your teacher again Jane. I'm glad she has carers come in three times a day. I suppose they get her her breakfast dinner and tea and get her ready for bed.
Nice to hear from Maureen as I thought she had abandoned us. No not really.. and yes foxes can jump quite high. Hav eyou anyones shed that backs onto your fence? as a fox can jump up onto a roof and over the fence that way. Or have a look around the base of your fences to see if it is coming underneath.
Signing out now as I want to have a shower before bed and watch the 24 hours program.
We watch the canal journey tonight along the Avon to something canals. Very relaxing.

I just rang my old Primary School teacher who will be 96 on Thursday .She is house bound now and her sight is bad she can no longer read. But my goodness she has all her marbles :-D :-D.I have arranged with her that I will go and see her on the 24th when Hannah and I go down to Plymouth .Hannnah has booked a riding lesson so I will go and see Ruth then.I will have to let myself in the back door.I asked if it would be ok to visit and she said "Oh YES PLEASE".She was my teacher when I was 10 years old and in later years my Mums best friend...I can see me leaving there with tears in my eyes as I know it will be the last time I will see her.She taught me how to sew,and still says she remembers the skirt I made back in about 1963/4.I think I was the worst pupil when it came to sewing class.I haven't seen her since my Mum's funeral which is 10 years ago now so will have to toughen myself up to see a big difference. She has Carers 3 times a day.

I think you have spoken too soon Gill LOL LOL.I will be still sorting and changing things at the very last minute :-S I always do and it drives Chris around the bend..Especially when I have to shove bleach down every loo .That is normally my very last thing . Mind you James will be here while we are away,so I am not going to bother with the main bathroom ..That is his domain (I might just give it a quick going over )just for peace of mind :-D) I always remember one year we went to France (the whole family) and I hadn't made the beds.We got home to find from our neighbour that the Burglar Alarm had gone off so the company were called to come and check it out.I was mortified to think they had seen our unmade beds.It turned out to be a spiders nest behind the sensor in our bedroom and the babies had hatched and set the alarm off..That made me feel even worse as they probably thought `i was a mucky so and so and didn't dust behind the sensor....They would have been right on that score lol... :-| :-|
Frank it was the WOMEN outside court. The men must have been inside waiting to go up before the magistrates...They were a right sight :-S :-S
Mel there is Blossom all in the air here .My car was covered in it this morning. Our Tulips have taken a real battering which is sad as they were looking so good.I was going to take a photo of them..But will have to give that a miss now :-S Chris and James have eaten .I will have my dinner in a bit.Still fairly full from Brunch. It is bin night for us tonight. We will have to keep our ears open in the morning for when the bin men come so we can get it in pretty swiftly before it ends up down the road.

Hi all
Happy Birthday Katherine
Well, the sun has finally come out but we are still getting light showers of rain and the wind is really blowing now.
I'm having connection problems. I was on AOL but apparently Talk Talk have taken over and since they have, I keep losing my connection, so I know how you feel Maureen, It's a right pain, isn't it. Glad to hear the fox didn't get your cat, hope the trellis works and keeps the fox away.
Sounds like you're nearly all sorted now Jane......or have a spoken to soon and you'll change your mind again on which clothes you are taking lol.
How lovely to see 8 Squirrels, I find them quite amusing. I think our Rosie has been telling the wild life where to come for a feed. There was a big hedgehog outside our back door the other night and all the birds seem to gather outside the door too, not to mention Rosie and the other tame Squirrel, so we're getting quite a lot of wild life stopping at ours for food.
Most of my housework is done now, I'll finish the rest tomorrow and I've managed to write all the people my 4th cousin needed for her tree into a message for her, that took a while and just as I was about to send it.........yes you've guessed, I lost my connection, so I had to start all over again :-( :-( :-(.
I've made a beef casserole, so I'm going to dish up now and get this post sent before I lose my connection again.

OOOh Maureen :-D :-D..Thought we had lost you lol I can't believe after all this time Ta** Ta** still haven't got things sorted for you Poor Oscar he must been so frightened with the fox.I hope what you have done will now keep it out.I imagine that they probably can jump a fair height,at least over fences. The would scrabble their way over :-S.It have obviously taken a fancy to your garden :-S
The wind is so fierce.I thought it was going to die down a bit but it seems stronger than ever now :-S :-S
I have got all my clothes folded on the spare bed.I just wish I could say to myself "right ,I will take this this and this" and stick with it.But I have kept adding more and more. There are a pile of shoes there now too :-S.I have such a painful joint on my big toe that shoes are a problem and some days one pair will feel more comfortable than another ,so I take a lot.I am leaving it all now as it is doing my head in .The next job tomorrow will be the toilet bag etc, camera, kindle and phone to all be charged up not forgetting an adaptor . 9am tomorrow I have managed to get an appointment to get my nails varnished with the special stuff that will stay unchipped for up to 2 weeks, and also an eyebrow tidy.My usual lady is fully booked up so am going my hairdressers Salon.
This wind has got my washing dried in record time :-D :-D.Mind you I had to triple peg everything on the line.It was whizzing around like one of those fast merry go rounds at the fair LOL.I had visions of everything just taking off and ending up in neighbours gardens.I didn't put any undies out. They went in the tumble drier :-D My bedding is still waiting to go in the drier now. I am keeping my eye on the Squirrel .I have just filled the window feeder and don't want it scoffing it all. This morning when Hannah and I were in town for Brunch we walked past the back of the Parish Church where there is a small graveyard and we counted 8 Squirrels. They were all so tame.I think people go there to feed them. They were so funny to watch :-D I better sort out the tumble drier now and get our bedding in.

Where did this wind come from ??? I was sitting reading my book when a crashing noise started up outside the front. It was Tony's food bin. it had been emptied and he hadn't taken it in. (as Usual) It was open, and the wind blew it down the road. I went after it and knocked on their door. "I thought I had put it away" was all I got.
More tops then Jane !! I know they won't be what you like, and will go back again !!!! Those blokes outside the court are a sight. I remember driving along there in the 60s and it was just the same then. They seem to be a certain breed of animal.!!!!
Nice to hear from Maureen, I all miss your postings, you are a busy MUM back and forward to Bedford to your son's. With all that ironing, I don't suppose you get a lot of time to yourself.
That FOX must be a pain, you don't want him taking your cat away. I am sure Mel, will have some answers to that problem.
Conrad and Jan arrived safe and sound about 3.00 pm. Took them about three and a half hours. from Torquay, so not a bad journey.

Happy Birthday Katherine <3
I have had all the fridge out and scrubbed everything. It does take a long while but I am glad it is now done.
It is a shame when the blossom comes out and then the wind blows it all away so quickly. It was the same when we had the pink flowering cherries up the drive. They are all gone now as they had some kind of disease and oh took the last ones out last year or the year before. The real cherry is flowering outside the wall but I bet thats had its petals blown away too Frank like yours but I can't see it from here in the house. I LIED I can see it and it is still on there at present.
Well I think I will go and wash my hair now and that will be another job out of the way.
Feel back to normal today and have much more energy. Then maybe a bit of ironing as I keep washing and not ironing
My hand seems much better since having this cream from the docs.
Fiona hows your hand now? and what cream did you get? I got Eumervate ointment and Aquadrate. Both twice a day.

Hi All, don't know how it's taken me so long to post a message, the time just seems to fly by, what with the ironing etc and for the last 3 weekends I've been at my son's in Bedford go up on a Friday and come back on Monday so it doesn't give me much of a chance to catch up.
Hope everyone is well, have seen all the lovely photos you have sent so thank you for not forgetting me.
The saga continues with T*lk T*lk, I am still not connected with them, an engineer is coming this week but I won't hold my breath.
Are we getting March winds now in May, the poor old fence is not going to be standing for much longer.
I have been getting a very unwelcome visitor to the garden, looked out the other day and a fox the size of a medium dog was standing on the lawn he was back again a few days later and had come right up almost on to the decking and I realised poor old Oscar was out there, he was standing on the garden table all puffed up to make himself look bigger I think if I hadn't gone out there the fox would have attacked him. Can they jump any great height, I have now attached a trellis to the fence at the bottom of the garden as that's where I think he is coming in hopefully that's the last we've seen of him.
Happy birthday to Katherine, we have a lot of birthdays in May, my brother and s-i-l then Harry and then my son, more expense as Frank would say.
I have been really good, but it was really hard to resist, one of son's cats has just had five kittens and they are so so sweet, two are already spoken for, I hope the other three get good homes too or my resolve might weaken.

Afternoon All What wind !!!!!!!!.I have seen people having to lean into it this morning as it is so strong. I was at Nex* by 8.45 to take the tops back and to order another which will be there tomorrow morning.Fingers crossed that one will be ok. Then I came home ,picked Hannah up to take her to the Dentist.I sat in the car while she went in and I watched all the various characters having their smokes outside the Magistrates Court..What a bunch!!!!!.I was glad they couldn't see me looking lol After that we went for Brunch in town and I had Bubble and Squeak with a poached egg and bacon and a nice pot of tea. So now I am back and have an afternoon of getting all the washing up to date and I'll start laying my clothes out on Hannahs bed.I find it easier to sort things that way rather than just having everything on hangers.
I will press on now and be back later today.
Happy Birthday to Katherine <3

Afternoon all.
Home alone for a few hours. Madam is having her roots done, be home 3 ish.
Conrad and Jan are coming here about 2.30 to stay with us overnight. One will sleep on the large sofa, the other on the fold up bed. That's the trouble having a one bedroom place.
I told you Jane, you didn't need anything, now you are taking them back just like Ann, :-D :-D :-D
Ann I am sure you and OH get to the point that you don't know what to do next for the in-laws. I suppose we were lucky ours were no trouble to us at all, and were a pleasure to be with.
I have commented on Ruby's garden, but what a pleasant array of everything. I bet the snake died because he couldn't handle the size of his catch. GREEDY THING !!!
Weather her is very hit and miss. Rain and wind, then a bit of sunshine. But it has turned very chilly
The Blossom had just about been blown off the tree now. Such a shame, because it looks so nice while it's there, I would think everybody's garden around has some on their lawns now.
Conrad has to go to Peterborough Hospital tomorrow for a check up on his operation he had done last time he was home. They want us to go with them for the ride, and we can stop on the way back for lunch. Then they will drop us off and continue their journey back to Devon.
Rather than cook tonight, I will take them out. It shouldn't be difficult to get a table anywhere being a Tuesday, so will see what they fancy and go from there.
John and Carolyn are coming home tomorrow night. Ros has to pick them up from Luton at 11.30 pm. So I will go with her for company, and make sure she to to the right place !!!
Coffee time for me, and a tidy round before the family arrive.
See you later,

Morning All,
That was very interesting about the wills Ruby. I wonder what the 'best russet gown' looked like? I have just been given a contact who may be able to help me with my romany ancestors and must get round to emailing them. It is exciting when a new lead crops up with your family tree. I'm glad those black snakes aren't poisonous. Do you get any poisonous ones in your garden?
I got up early and had an hour and a half in the garden with OH. I think he has pulled every weed out of the back garden now and I pruned back some more unruly shrubs, then planted the tomatoes in the greenhouse and staked them and put the black polythene covering around them. I always grow them straight in the soil and the covering means less watering and that they survive ok when we are away for a week as the water doesn't evaporate. I couldn't believe how many snails I saw on some of the shrubs. They reckon it will be a bad year for them so I think it's time to hide some bait where the birds cant get to it.
It's lashing down with wind and rain now, although it felt quite muggy in the garden earlier. We'll be off to the fav carvery at lunchtime, then OH has a meeting and I shall pop to Grantham to return some tops.....and maybe get more! ;-)
MIL rang earlier.......but it was nothing dramatic. She wanted to know whether to cancel the physio coming this morning as she'd forgot someone else had taken these things over now since FIL's last fall. I'm not surprised though, it's all we can do to keep up with events!
I must see if I can finish last week's necklace next as I want to wear it when we go out. BBL

Morning all and evening Kim,
Quite bright today with a very high wind. They say sun and showers for us today all day and up to 50 mile an hour gusts.
Ruby that was very interesting about how things were divided up. Still here in Devon the farms usually go to the eldest son. I wonder what killed the snake?
Feeling more myself today so hope I am well and truely on the mend now.
Going to have a good clear out of the fridge today so I can start afresh when I go shopping this week.

I love the photo's of your garden Frank. All that blossom on your lawn it looks so pretty. You and Ros have worked so hard.
Hope things improve for your FIL and MIL Ann, it must be such a worry, let's hope they except some help when it's offered.
Going to mop the kitchen floor now before Sandra wakes up, OH is back in work today so no one should walk on it while it's wet. BBL
